So excited Season 2 is here! Thank you all for watching. My goal with this episode was to show you a different side of Jamie Dimon. Yes, there are some must-ask questions about the state of the global economy, AI, etc. but we also talked about family, childhood and how he does it all.“Sometimes I feel like I’m just riding the bronco and hanging on for dear life.” Would love to hear what you think.
Have followed his career going way back to the Sandy Weill days, and with this interview I learned a few new things. Great job, Emily! (But that restaurant flex at the start -- lol!?!) 😎✌️
Jamie Dimon's advice to his 20-year-old self is something we can all benefit from. He emphasizes the importance of working hard but also working smart. It's essential to think carefully and not waste time on tasks that won't bring you closer to your goals. He also stresses the significance of taking care of your mind, body, and spirit. When we prioritize our overall well-being, we're better equipped to handle the challenges that come our way. Dimon's words are a reminder that we can achieve all that we set our minds to, but we may not be able to do it all at once.
Honestly I didn’t like the questions that much. So much emphasis on vague, nonsense question regarding ai (“is ai and fintech gonna replace banks”, pushing on the “chat jpm”), the one liner questions on hugely complex topics. She asked atomic questions that do not incentive critical thinking and discussion. Of course she had limited time so couldn’t dedicate 20 minutes to each topic, but a part from dimon’s brilliance this was underwhelming
In fairness, she is not coming up with these questions in its entirety. She has to go through extensive preperation beforehand. Why do you think she can name specific events and examples to support her question?
One of the best interviews I’ve seen. People often ask Jamie the same questions or it’s always just too formal, but this briefly brought out a funnier side of him. Enjoyed it, thanks!
I love this original. Just fantastic work by Bloomberg. Aside from listening to all of what Jamie Dimon can teach us, the editing, the music, the space, the colors, everything makes it even better.
