Yea yall are lucky to have had it longer then us! We are stoked to finally get it here. Hopefully Quinn is able to push the aftermarket to start supporting these quickly.
What bumper bar is that? My truck is being built in July and really like that. I'm going to mount an off road light up front, but don't want it on/behind the grill. I really like the look of that.
Straight axles have the axle shafts inline with the wheel hub. Portals have the axle shifts sitting higher up for ground clearance. They use a gear set to transfer that power to the wheel hub, which makes it less efficient. So it’s only worth doing on a dedicated hardcore off-roader.
Yep. A Raptor is a silly candidate for portals. This truck is meant to go fast off-road and portals are going to make it slower and handle worse. Not to mention it looks stupid.
@@landmine55Those are scratch-built race cars. Yeah, they’re doing 100 across desert, but also spend half the race in boulder fields. The suspension, drivetrain, and chassis is designed to run those portals. My point is that the benefits of portals are in big rocks and deep mud, and the Raptor is a desert runner. Slapping portals on it is going to add huge stress to the suspension and steering components, add tons of unsprung weight, and add parasitic power loss. It wasn’t designed for that, and is not going to handle it well. Basically taking away from what makes this truck good. These make sense on a Jeep, not a pre-runner.
@@Holden-McGroinI know nothing about portals and this was super helpful to know. I’m guessing most would suggest just a collar lift kit if we wanted to lift the ranger raptor considering everyone seems to say to keep the stock fox suspension
If I win the lottery there will be signs
Here in Australia I have fitted a winch to my Ranger Raptor... there are a few companies making Ranger Raptor winch compatible bumpers...

@popo_patty Some of the companies here export to overseas markets regularly ... you have ARB there... they are the 1st to have done it I think.
@@popo_pattylook into offroad animal for a good looking bull bar for the Ranger Raptor!!
That is so sick

Custom from 74 Weld. Maybe bug Quinn and they will produce some?
It's so bad ass!!
Where do I buy one of those front bars ❤
Do you know what the spotlight mount is?

Agree, portal is better than lifting...🙂👍
I heard portals take you to another dimension of reality, is that true?
Shoot I want to know what those wheels are.
@@wesharris07 an exclusive wheel being released by 74Weld shortly. They are taking delivery of first shipment this week hopefully
@@popo_patty I want to put them on my ranger raptor

@@popo_patty lol my ranger raptor isn’t being built until oct/nov. but I’ve been on their website already

Now it gets 10mpg. U must be proud.

@@alexsmbathanks for the info. Had no clue what a portal was. Guess it’s safer than lifting, doesn’t mess up the aerodynamics

hahaha, yes he does

ruined that truck
You obviously don’t know what Portals are!

@@Holden-McGroin then why do all of the top King of the Hammers vehicles have portal axles? They’re doing 90-10mph through the desert.

Basically a lift through the axle without using suspension.
