  • Shin Hati is a really interesting character. She has as Jedi Padawan braid...why...what does this mean possibly? I think she was born AFTER Order 66 and is Baylan's Daughter. What do you think?

The braid caught my attention too, although it fit perfectly with Baylan's behavior. His relationship with Shin is more Jedi Master/Padawan than Sith Lord/Apprentice. Although they seem to be aligned with the Dark Side, they are both still acting more like Jedi. They don't show rage when they fight, their movements are well-thought and methodical, and they are not distracted from their objectives by their anger. Whether Shin is his daughter or just a Force sensitive child he found somewhere, it feels like their relationship is not abusive in the way that Sith relationships tend to be. They are quintessential Dark Jedi.

  • @SoulHuN7eR
    @SoulHuN7eR 9 місяців тому +13

Her being his daughter is so obvious Dave would never go that way.
What I believe, based off what we've seen from the trailers and the episodes so far, is that she was an orphan from some planet and force sensitive, to the point that he had to take her with him and basically adopt her. He already told us the Jedi are too few these days, it would be a waste to leave her to die. What I also feel, is that not only did he know Anakin, he was in many ways a lot like him. Very strong with the Force, sensing that something is wrong with the Jedi and the Republic. He may even have been a little unorthodox himself with his ways, like Anakin.
Finally, we know Plo Koon had an unamed Padawan from the Legends and since they hint Legends all the time, I strongly believe this is where they are going with him.
So yeah, not daughter daughter but close.

She also questioned her Master's motives for going after Sabine in the first place when he emphasized it was for power, She doesn't seem interested in "That Reasoning". She also showed mercy with Sabine. She opted for a non fatal attack when she could've easily have killed her. I don't think she's inherently evil and just mislead. She seems to have mercy in her heart and interested in her own kind. I hope that's the path they go down. She could have an awesome redemption arc.

Personally I think that after order 66, Baylan came to the realization that the Jedi were weak. Not from a place of hate, but from a rational look at what happened. He even mentioned it would be a shame to have to kill Ashoka because there are so few force wielders that were trained by ACTUAL masters left. The jedi were blind, distracted and a shadow of what they once were. Baylan being a trained Jedi, survived throughout the years not by following the strict jedi code but by integrating the light and darkside. Since he no longer had to obey the Jedi code he became much more powerful for it, however he didn't need/want to become a sith as Jedi and Sith are just two sides of the same coin. When shin asks about thrawn he says that they will get power, and I think that is his motivation. He survived for 30 years after order 66 because he is powerful in both the light (formal Jedi training before order 66) and darkside (From what he found traveling the galaxy for the last 30 years) and he doesnt want to stop. As for Shin's training I think he trained her the way he was trained because thats all he knows, just not impeded by the Jedi code but perhaps a new sort of hybrid code Baylan made himself.

I dont think she is his daughter. I think her story will mirror Ezra's where Baylan found her, most likely as an orphan and gave her a home and a purpose and promised her she would never be powerless again. It would be a "nature vs nurture" debate, emphasising that if Ezra was found by a force user with bad intentions, Ezra could have ended up like Shin.

I really want to know Baylon's reasons for working with the imperial remnant. He was a Jedi, and he knows that the empire (and by extansion this remnant and Thrawn) are part of what destroyed his people, his family. Even if he was disillusioned with the jedi before, it would still take something to make him want to actively help bring the Empire back into power. I hope it is explained. Real potential for interesting characters those two.

  • @TheNin-Jedi

I think Shin like Baylan are very conflicted. Shin more so. When she fought Sabine she could have easily destroyed her but she held back and purposely didn't deal a killing blow. It was more of a distraction to get out of there with her life because she probably knew she couldn't handle both Ahsoka and Sabine. She knew she had to take the map but also didn't want to kill anyone. Or at least that was my impression.
My theory is that Baylan escaped and survived Order 66 by hiding in the unknown regions. He eventually became a father and trained Shin to be a Jedi but as time went on he started doing mercenary work for money. Maybe something happened in their past to Shins mother that made them go darker but the impression I got wasn't exactly loyalty as Baylan mentioned he was getting paid well. He's also obviously interested because instead of just money they tempted him with power.

When Shin asks what awaits them specifically when they find Thrawn, Baylan says, “Power. Such as you’ve never dreamed.” I wonder if the power he is referring to is a position of power. I think he wants to find Thrawn and start a new Jedi Order under his regime. The power they gain would not just be their high standing in the Empire, but a powerful legacy to leave behind a (from his point of view) perfected Jedi Order.
The more I think about it, the more I think Baylan has similar goals to Jorus C’Baoth in the Thrawn Trilogy. Except Baylan is obliviously of sound mind, and not a clone losing his mental facilities. The question is whether he wants to usurp Thrawn or truly serve under him.

I am extremely interested in her back story as well. I feel like Filoni often gives female characters a lot strength and he does them justice. I think back to Rebels when Ezra was training, and he didn't have a Khyber crystal, and he had to find the stone in the temple. He was sort of lucky in that a temple was on his home planet of Lothal. We never learn how he got his second lightsaber, after the first was destroyed. With Ahsoka, we know from the Short series that she takes her Khyber crystal from an Inquisitor and cleanses them. We know from another shorts series that a man crafts lightsabers and makes the crystals tune to the user and change color accordingly. So I always wonder when we see other lightsaber users, where and how they acquired their lightsabers. Are the crystals really reflecting the person's intent? Does it really show their moral leanings? We know from Huyang that Balin's lightsaber was crafted the traditional Jedi way, but he doesn't state what color the crystal originally was, so I am very curious to see what we learn about these two. I love Filoni's story telling and that nearly every character we are introduced too, does have some backstory to them and that we often get to see that in the show.

One thing we need to understand with Ahsoka is Rosario is wearing that lekku (head-tail). It's very hard for her to move her head while she's fighting with two lightsabers. And the headdress looks rubbery. It would look silly to viewers if she kept shaking her head. In animated form, it's much easier to make Ahsoka fight faster and move more fluidly.
It's similar to Michael Keaton in the Batman suits. He couldn't turn his head. So Ahsoka basically acts stiff emotionally and physically. Like Rosario is wearing a Native American chief headdress while she also needs to run, jump, and swing around two lightsabers. That's not easy in live-action form as animated form has no limitations in body movement.
We need to be a little more lenient with Rosario's body movements. She has a huge rack if you've seen her topless in He Got Game, Alexander, and Trance. And she was wearing a dominatrix outfit in the two Sin City films showing plenty of cleavage. She's only 5'7 and is old enough to be Ivanna Sahkno's mom (19-year difference). She's carrying a lot of weight above her waist with a busty chest and squid-like headdress.
A woman with big natural boobs with a thin waist might sound hot to most guys. And Rosario is like this the way younger Jennifer Love Hewitt and Winona Ryder were. But if you know the story of Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster) needing a breast reduction during her teens, it's no picnic to that female's back. Can mess up their spine.
Rosario is listed of being a B-cup in a few sites, but I believe she's bigger than that. Maybe D-cup when she did Alexander. Maybe C-cup nowadays since boobies can get smaller as women age. She has a similar bust size as Scarlett Johansson, so I see nothing smaller than a C. Rosario is hot, people. I've known this since 1998 when I watched Jesus Shuttlesworth (Ray Allen) squeeze her boobs.
Let's go easy on Ahsoka if her fights happens to be too slow and stiff. That squid/octopus-head can weigh like 5 lbs on top of Rosario's head. And if the lekku is lighter that, it probably still makes her neck stiff when trying to move her head.

This is how I think this all went down. Right before Mace Windu went to confront the first Sith Lord in so many years, he warned his padawan, Baylon, to go hide in a safe place which no one knows about because mace felt something bad is about to happen. Once Mace died, Baylon felt it and knew that he had to start all over but not as a Jedi because as a Jedi you will be found and killed. Baylon remembered his master’s training on how to tap into the dark side and he did so to stay hidden. How did he do it? He fell in love, which brought fear in him which made him tap into the dark side. While being in love he and his love produced his daughter Shin. Now Baylon heard about the night sisters and Morgan promised Baylon once she reaches her ancestors she will be able to bring back his wife and Shins mother. For me that’s how all this ties together and it gives Baylon the perfect motivation. An act that Anakin acted on but went too much dark side and an act that l Obi Wan never acted on securing him in the light side. Baylon is right in between. This whole show is the power of 3.
