Ezra also sensed Vader’s presence on Lothal before he and his friends had even entered its atmosphere, suggesting he has a potent connection to his home planet and an innate ability to sense auras.

Another thing that suggests that is when he senses Kanan before knowing what the force is. Of course, that was probably the force screaming "HEY! THIS GUY'S IMPORTANT!!!" at him, but still. His connection to the living force specifically is pretty OP.

I think Ezra is going to be extremely more powerful than when we last saw him. He had mixed teachings in both the light and dark sides of the Force from people such as Kanan, Bendu, the Sith Holocron, and others. He was noticed among all the beings in the galaxy by Darth Sidious, he was permitted entry into The World Between Worlds and nobody else we know of managed that. And as you said all the Dark Side characters noticed him early on respecting his power currently and the potential power they all sensed he had. I believe the Ezra we will meet in Asoka will be different than any of us theorized.

He was snoke before the sequels shat on the concept, and now I'm not sure if they are still taking the character in that direction. I've been out of the loop for some time now.
But the whole point of him disappearing Thrawn was so eastablish he would one day return to become Snoke. Before TLJ animation and film were working in tandem, then Abrams realised he personally would make as much money if he shared his toys so filoni and everything rebels built towards was out.

Perfect example of this is Anakin Skywalker's feat on mortis (a planet made out of the force) which is how he managed to tame both the daughter and the son (something he wouldn't be able to do on his own. Obi-Wan and Ahsoka even comment on how strong the force was.

Ezra's greatest strength is his communication and empathy with animals, particularly animals which are strong in the Force. Lothal wolves and the Space Whales in particular seem to be species capable of sensing and using the Force. The darkside use of this is Dominate mind.
I'd say if Ezra was born during the Republic, he'd grow up to be a member of the council.
Also Obi-Wan was in his 20s before he underwent trials to become a Knight. Anakin was promoted a bit early as a older teenager. However since Obi-Wan in terms of Force power, is just a little head of the average I'd say it wouldn't be unreasonable to be a near peer of Obi-Wan at the beginning of episode 2, just with more empathy than wisdom.

Why would Ezra give up his "darkside" abilities I mean he comes from Windu's "Jedi lineage" which tend to "walk the middle", and with his "masters" being Kanan, Maul, & Ashoka none of them are "lightside" Jedi ....... Blind Kanan is a "Problem" and more Bendu than Jedi in the end I'm sure all the balance he and Ezra near the end were a result of the Bendu lessons, Dark Ezra with the fade was definitely using Juyo which he most likely got from Maul, and Ashoka passing on Anakin's lessons ........ give him 10 years of grinding .......... His training was based on the light and he had a great relationship with his master and crew and also living creatures.
But I think that suggests that he will not fall to darkness rather than he necessarily always going to tred in the light.
He's also a rebel, an orphan, experienced great tragedy and senseless loss, forged in war and had also seen the utility of dark side practices.
Add all that to 10 yrs with no Jedi or Sith to teach him, he either had to work it out himself or, hopefully, found a "Bendu-like" being to instruct him in the force free from any indoctrination and bound by his own morality and experience.
I would love him to come back eventually and assist Ashoka in creating a new order that was "Gray."

    A Knight?
The teenager that traveled through time and space using only the Force to save Ahsoka from dying to Vader, defeated the ghosts of the Nightsisters in their sacred grounds, found the MOST ELUSIVE Jedi in the galaxy using only the Force, and is arguably one of the only people to travel through hyperspace with the Force instead of a hyperdrive.
No offense, but if the guy who trained for all of 3 weeks time with Obi Wan and Yoda can be considered a Jedi Knight, there is ZERO doubt that Ezra had more skill, knowledge, and understanding of the Force. When he stood up to Palpatine at the end of Rebels, he actually stood up to him and didn't need a Sith or a Jedi to save him.
The entire idea that Force wielders have to be placed in one of two categories and ranked is why the Jedi fell to begin with.
AND, the only Jedi I want to talk about coming out of a long stasis is Revan.

  • @SignumInterriti

    I see three basic options:
    1) Ezra was unable to improve much, be in for exterior reasons or because he didn't try. He's in a bad place when they meet him but can revitilize his extraordinary connection to animal life and the creatures of the force.
    2) He continued his training alone and gained a lot of experience travelling Peridea or fighting Thrawn's influence. That would make Ezra a formidable Jedi with some powerful abilities and a match for any antagonist we've seen in the series with the possible exception of Baylan.
    3) In Peridea, Ezra found some sort of a unique new teacher who helped him live up to his full potential, which given his natural talent and quick progression could make him even more powerful than Ahsoka herself.
All are plausible, but 2) would be my best guess at this point.

      2) He became like a force demigod that even Thrawn feared. Imagine him going full Starkiller and holding back the ship as it tries to leave to our galaxy.
      3) He was kept in status by Thrawn to be healed from that blaster shot at the end of Rebels. Imagine if Hera saw Ezra still looking the same. It would break my heart.

  • @0chuklz0
    @0chuklz0 9 місяців тому +6

I think an argument can be made that he might even be more powerful. Yes, he does not have a master to direct his training, but in Rebels he found inspiration from other beings that helped him grow, and without a Master to tell him no, he would be open to trying many things. I don't believe this would lead him back to the dark side as his instincts have been reliably pulling him toward the light.

  • @MarcoAspaas
    @MarcoAspaas 9 місяців тому +6

I believe Ezra has more potential power than Luke even, considering they are nearly the same age and as you've covered, the knowledge he gained through both the Light and Dark Holocrons. Not to mention his experience with the Bendu, Nightsisters and World Between Worlds. All accomplished before Kenobi even trained Luke. IMO - even though it may need to be retconned...and Filoni may have already done so in Rebels, when Yoda spoke to Ezra... but I think when Yoda infamously said that 'no there is another' to Kenobi when Luke left Dagobah, he was speaking of Ezra - not Leah, as implied at the time. Heck, in hindsight, considering her experiences - Ahsoka would even make more sense as the other Yoda spoke of, instead of Leah, who didn't even know she was force sensitive then.

I’d put Ezra in a special category along side Quinlan Vos and Kal Cestis with having certain unique traits and abilities, but one thing that Ezra has over Cal yet tied with Vos is that he had two masters in the Light and Dark. Kanaan and The Presence (whom I still today believe is the essence of Darth Traya) having teachings of both Light and Dark while keeping the mind focused in the middle will make either a Jedi or Sith much more powerful than the average. Swing to the Light and your power gains will be slow and gradual, swing to the Dark and you’ll have lots of power but will lose yourself to it. Remain in the middle and you can use both side to your advantage, similar to the Bendu. One heartfelt scene I would like to see in Ahsoka is for Jacen to meet Ezra, finding out he’s Kanaan’s son, and training him as a Jedi to give back to his master like how Luke gave back to Yoda by training Grogu.

Even if Ezra were still in his first year of training, he probably could've outmatched Maul's Force potential, even if he couldn't move the doors

Ezra is more of a Swiss Army knife than a Jedi. His strength comes from the sheer variety of abilities he's absorbed. Jedi and Sith both take a monochromatic view of things, categorically shutting out everything the other side has to offer, but Ezra has kind of built his own style from the ground up. Even just choosing to use a blaster is huge. Being able to hit something from a long ways away is just objectively useful, the Jedi and Sith can take that uncivilized weapon nonsense and shove it. A clean headshot at range is a lot more civil than having your arms chopped off.

More important than Luke and Leia ? Yeah no. If that were the case Obi wan would have looked and watched out for Ezra.

@@UnifiedEntity oviwan did protect him and guide him to an extent as he saved his life on tattooine. Albeit tho Ezra only went to try to save obiwan from maul. Obiwan didn’t need to protect Ezra as he knew and truly understood the importance of Ezra’s role in the upcoming times of turbulence in the galaxy.
But truly, The simple fact that Ezra has dabbled in the dark and the light and maintained balance truthfully speaks volumes about his character and power as a force wielder.
He made a connection with the purgill
He went to the world between worlds which is said to have the power to control all of time and space. He did so much. He knew he had to do what he had to do (take thrawn away) in order for the rebellion to succeed and for the people of the galaxy to be freed from the reign of terror of the sith.
So yeah he really is JUST AS important (like I said) and maybe to a degree MORE important than Luke and leia.
We’re it not for him and Sabine working with saul gerrera to uncover the building of the Death Star that lead to the events of rogue 1 which allowed for episode 4 to even happen
We’re it not for Ezra, the likelyhood of the Death Star’s plans reaching the hands of leia would be slim to none.
I think I’ve made my point.

I think Ezra letting go of Kannan and sacrificing himself was his last trial to knighthood. I think your opinion on his status was a little conservative. When comparing his power to top tier jedi and sith, it may seem a little low. But based on the actions we've seen of other jedi from the Clone Wars period, he definitely ranks higher up by the end of rebels. Combat and force wise, assuming he wasn't a prisoner or something, I think it's possible he's at jedi master level in ahsoka. Probably not at the level of masters like Obi-Wan or Mace Windu, but I could see him beating some of the other masters from clonewars Era in knowledge and power. Where I think he'd be weakest would be in his dueling, seeing as he would have had no one to practice against in the other galaxy(I assume).

Explain more about the Nightsisters. I only found out recently Darth Maul is a son of one.

Maybe we will get an Ezra spinoff, showing his battles in the new Galaxy, trying to survive and stop thrawn from remaking a connection to the galactic empire.
Maybe they had to join forces temporarily to survive, but also be at odds. Thrawn is known for his adaptability. Ezra for survival.
Would potentially be an interesting chapter with both in a new galaxy, without any form of support.
Ezra shows both a draw to the light and the dark. Would be very interesting to see what he's been upto.
I doubt we will get a huge amount of time on Ezra, being its Ashokas story to find him. Not until they find Thrawn, and not on him as the main focus. Opening up the perfect oppertunity for a spin-off.

Ezras story was influenced by both anakin and luke, and he if I remember right has the just under the potential of luke. This was how they tackled the story with him because he was so powerful that it was hard to train, all things considered he was a lot more calm than others with a higher potential. Which just goes to show his control over himself.
