Poundstone made such a rookie mistake that cost him the title. That's why Mariusz is the GOAT when it comes to the WSM competition. As far as experience goes, no one was more experienced than him! It had started to rain and both the stones and platforms were slippery. Poundstone got desperate and lifted the stone without having a full grip and his stone fell while Mariusz took his time until he had full control of the stone under the most enormous pressure! It was just a lack of patience. You could see Pudz took his time on the 4th stone and 5th. He made sure his grip was there. Pound stone expected the stone to roll using the corner of the platform in adverse conditions. Simply put, pound stone let his fear of failure dictate his strategy
