    It's great to see Thor back in Strongman. In time, the strongest man on earth will become the best strongman competition. According to the athletes, it may already be the best. Because Brian Shaw loves the sport. His dedication and preparation, along with his team's help, will fix any issues going further.

    Such a great event and get so much unnecessary hate because athletes made bad choices on weights and tacky. On the Shawstrength podcast Mitch talks about how all of the stones were perfect and everyone complaining they were “too smooth” were completely wrong.
    With that being said I would love to see a stone for reps event similar to the WSM stone off where we get to see who can do 400 or maybe 450 for the most reps. Would be an epic showdown between Thor and Tom for sure

    • @soarin5814

      I agree. It all comes to strength. However there are differences in the stones. A fresh 450lb/200kg smooth stone is just different to a used 450lb/200kg stone or a rougher stone. Probably could be compared to making a deadlift PR on a bar with no gnarling vs a bar with gnarling.

    24:40 .... SERIOUSLY Terry? The ONLY guy in "toms league" of stone lifting is BRIAN?
    Ever heard of Thor Bjornsson? XD I mean I know at a Giants Live show that'd be standard, and GL's policy is literally to ignore the fact that Thor even exists, or to go so far as to actively defame him, but you should know better!
    Thor is King Of The Stones, and Tom was merely acting regeant until Thors return.

      @TheVanillatech Місяць тому

      @@jamesmaitlandstewart08 Terry is on the payroll of GL and WSM too. Thats the issue. Thats why Magnus - when pressed by Loz in his "Talking Strongman" series a few years back - also said that Thors 501 was illegitimate because it wasn't done in competition. Scared to lose his presidgious and highly paid role as a referee at GL and WSM gigs...
      The fact that politics even enters into this sport is a joke. Like a bunch of school kids angry that someone doesn't want to be in their gang. Thor should stay as far away from anything to do with GL or WSM as he can, especially after the secret recordings of the Stoltmans discussing the cheating and helping etc. Basically proving that everything Thor said was true, everything that we suspected was true, despite the sick amount of slander and defamation that Official Strongman and GL put on Thor (to this day).

      well as you can see ar rogue strongman, they changed the stones to oval and no tacky, and its also very interesting :) i think it might be better even, but still, someone did something very wrong to these stones, obviously, as Tom Stoltman is best man in the world on this, still the tacky teared in a very weird way, cant say why rly

    • @vpmcgeath
      @vpmcgeath Місяць тому +1

      The stones are just smooth because they're new, and unlike the ones they had for practice/warm up with back stage, they had no tacky to start with on these. Nothing "wrong" with them.

    • @vpmcgeath
      @vpmcgeath Місяць тому +2

    Maybe those stones are a little too slick! It's also an unfair advantage to go toward the end of the rotation. Those stones had that sticky substance all over them. The first guys had to deal with much slicker stones.

    • @cisrael468
      @cisrael468 Місяць тому +1

      Going toward the end of any strongman event has inherent advantages which is part of the reward for winning the previous event. This has been the case for every atlas stone event in history

    • @middleoftheroad1
      @middleoftheroad1 Місяць тому +4

      @cisrael468 should any event be designed to give one competitor and advantage over another? The answer to that is, no. Go ahead and put the sticky substance all over the stones from the start so everyone has an equal opportunity.

    • @daviesugo7641
      @daviesugo7641 Місяць тому

      Every competitor had the opportunity to do that themselves @@middleoftheroad1

    • @cisrael468
      @cisrael468 Місяць тому

      @@middleoftheroad1 again, going last is an advantage in literally every event. Max distance carry means you can see how far the other competitors went. Max reps you know what number to shoot for. Atlas stone runs like giants live means more fresh tacky on the stones

    • @middleoftheroad1
      @middleoftheroad1 Місяць тому

      @@cisrael468 you're missing the point. There is a massive difference between going last so you know what it takes to win the event versus the order making the event easier on some than others. The difficulty level needs to be the same for every competitor.

    there set up wrong, turn them sideways and stagger them so that lifters load one ball the just walk straight to next one instead of walking around each to get to neat lift. and no stickup on hands, because some residue left may hinder next guys lift, plus its cheating in a way, if your strong lift without, if not you don't lift. don't polish the balls so much, then you don't need it anyway. And no skipping stones, you start with lightest and graduate up, quit changing rules, this is not football..

  • @georgegouvas27
    @georgegouvas27 29 днів тому

    who designs this stuff, bad ideas, the ball misses about every time from going in the ball return and they break apart, and on the axle bars no one marked the weight size and cost a couple of lifters from a fair lift, the barrel toss door falls open, come on guys do you even test this stuff? And the height difference of lifters compared to the height of the top of wooden podiums to lift on
