I really hate when they have this super heavy frame carry at the beginning of the final. It just rips people's hands up and screws their performance for the rest of the competition. Kind of a terrible event under any circumstances but definitely not something you should put at the front end. If anything the Arnold does it right. Very short distance, but uphill. Don't make them hold it so long. Make it more of a back and leg event than just pure grip torture.
I like how everyone glances over the fact Eddie presented him the trophy, is that a tradition that last years winner does that or something? pretty funny
i need to ask, is the frame challenge and the atlas stones challenge not wrong?, so the frame challenge, is all of the frames the same in size/dimensions? or is it tailored to the size of the contender? cause a taller man will have an advantage over a shorter man, same for the atlas stones, if you are taller by lets say a foot, you dont need to lift it as high as a shorter person, right? if those pedestals are all the same size, a shorter person needs to lift that ball much higher than a taller person, just curious how this was setup, the jeep challenge is another thing aswell, is it the same thing to lift it 1 foot of the ground than to lift it 3 or 4 foot?
No they are the same objects etc for everyone. Tall people have disadvantages in presses, deadlifts and squats while short people have disadvantages in platforms etc. Even when Thor got to the deadlift you will notice the commentators say that he shouldn't be good at it because of his height. If you tailor events to people then your not finding the strongest person, you are trying to create equality of outcome. The end conclusion of equalising everything would make it comp of will power. Peoples differences is what creates their strength differences.
Mateusz will never win until he rounds his game out and gets static strength. It took Eddie so long to win because he wasn't well rounded either, he needed a comp that had a focus on static strength.
I just read that Big Z protested medical tyranny in Lithuania; Shaw did so in his own way by opposing Arnold's infamous "F your freedoms" comment. Not only both great strongmen but also strong defenders of human liberty!

Thor/coach questioned it which is perfectly fine and the commentators did as well (full stream). Nobody likes having their lift questioned but ironically Brian Shaw just put out a video saying he thinks they need stricker refereeing. Regardless of the outcome it's important that people contest lifts that are questionable. It keeps the referee body transparent. When Thor contested his viking press reps in 2017 it cleared the air. Instead of having a million casuals saying he should have got the reps, we got a definitive ruling after the fact. Definitive ruling plus contestants been allowed to request them legitimises the sport.
@@MrSnakekaplan There are ways to raise queries without having a tantrum/getting your groupies to do it for you. As for clarity, he still claims that Viking Press was fixed by Colin Bryce. On the broader point, officiating is becoming an increasing problem as its not improving with the rest of the sport. Brian was bang on.
2 years later Kieliszkowski still lost to Hafthor at the Arnold Strongman Classic because of his poor deadlift. All he needed here was to come in top 3 in the deadlift event and he could've taken the trophy for Poland at 24. At ASC too, all he needed was to come in the top 5 to win and lost there as well. Man really needs to improve his deadlift. At strongman level, his deadlift is really poor, especially given how amazing he's at dynamic events.
That’s only somewhat true. The events he beat Thor on, he only won by microscopic margins(Trial by Stone) or because Thor just let him(Cyr Max Dumbbell). Thor was banking on Mateuzs placing below top 5 on the deadlift and saved his energy.
to be fair, mateusz's deadlift has improved significantly in the last few years, we just havent had many chances to see it cause the guy is clearly afflicted with some ancient polish folklore curse. dude needs a witcher

No Eddie Hall, injured Big Z, injured Janashia and a flagging Shaw, This was an easy win for Thor
Yo pienso que un strongman podría hacer películas como las que hacía bud Spencer
They spoiled all these by putting the winner the the thumbnail! A lot of people are watching it because they've never seen it, or hadn't seen in a long time, can't remember who won, and want to re-experience it.
8:40 what is going on with this man's traps lol
Synthol.
No: I found this comment online: "Everyone who thinks that those traps are synthol read this...those are completely natural..the middle one is just fat and scar tissue that formed because of spine injury..and those 4 are muscles but because of the same injury they are overdeveloped as a protection mechanism for spine and they got weird shape for same reason..that is not just opinion..that is what doctors said"
jf caron power profile talk! 😆🤣💪
Brian's last deadlift rep shouldn't have been allowed, he wasn't locked out, knees bent, wobbling...
Thorrrrr
It's a fuckin trap show in the interviews 😂
Marnicus Najmanus form Italy its real wsm
Comparing these atlas stones with what Tom Stoltman is doing nowadays is just ridiculous
Make it more of a back and leg event than just pure grip torture.
agree. Arnold and Shaw events are a dramatic improvement on WSM events
Top 5 strongman ever not in any order
Kaz
Puz
Big z
Shaw
Thor
I like how everyone glances over the fact Eddie presented him the trophy, is that a tradition that last years winner does that or something? pretty funny
Eddie was doing the expert opinion segments before and after events for the cameras.
It was a funny and kind of risky decision though.
Is there wasn’t a deadlift event
Matusz would have beat hafthor😢
Can we start a petition that they stop glossing over the over head press!!
WSM really has a thing against that lift. why?
Kelsey is such a beautiful woman.
when those men get my age they will pay the price
Hence he only won once
Brent Stover? Really?…😂 Shouldn’t the announcers LOOK like they actually lift weights at least once in their lives? 😅
Norwood Loop
Tom Stoltman so much stronger.
2:44 I feel for that woman😰
Being short is such a huge advantage. Taller person has to be twice as good.
Depends on the event. Tall is good for stones and tossing objects and loading. Stocky can favor squats and deadlift. Depends on the athlete too.
Shaw didnt get that last rep in the deadlift.
Yes he did. Are you blind 🧐? 🤣
I always felt that locking out was overrated. If the guy can get it up that far he's got it, even if is his back is bent.
Another rubbish edit. Just show the events, ffs. Every lift.
41:31 well if the WSM 2018 title wasn't settled before it is now
Poor JF got 0 sec of TV time
In the USA edition yeah. UK version totally different.
i need to ask, is the frame challenge and the atlas stones challenge not wrong?, so the frame challenge, is all of the frames the same in size/dimensions? or is it tailored to the size of the contender? cause a taller man will have an advantage over a shorter man, same for the atlas stones, if you are taller by lets say a foot, you dont need to lift it as high as a shorter person, right? if those pedestals are all the same size, a shorter person needs to lift that ball much higher than a taller person, just curious how this was setup, the jeep challenge is another thing aswell, is it the same thing to lift it 1 foot of the ground than to lift it 3 or 4 foot?
No they are the same objects etc for everyone.
Tall people have disadvantages in presses, deadlifts and squats while short people have disadvantages in platforms etc. Even when Thor got to the deadlift you will notice the commentators say that he shouldn't be good at it because of his height.
If you tailor events to people then your not finding the strongest person, you are trying to create equality of outcome.
The end conclusion of equalising everything would make it comp of will power. Peoples differences is what creates their strength differences.
The polish guy is such a beast but always falls short
Mateusz will never win until he rounds his game out and gets static strength. It took Eddie so long to win because he wasn't well rounded either, he needed a comp that had a focus on static strength.
They is better than triple h stephine mcmhone dx mortohead hbk I like Randy orton John cena the
Look this last event Thor have 2sec better time but this shutby 0.5sec WTF???
The rock
I just read that Big Z protested medical tyranny in Lithuania; Shaw did so in his own way by opposing Arnold's infamous "F your freedoms" comment. Not only both great strongmen but also strong defenders of human liberty!
I don’t know y all we have support hafpthour because of that show dragon 🐉 tv show but we all seams happy that he wins….i think because all we have seen this guy journey from a thin tall guy to world strongest man…. Because he lost her daughter because of his controversial things in 2017 diiping viking pull…. Don’t know…. But all well when its end well
Y is LBS call .... pound 😀😀😀???
Should be called light balls n small 😀😀
Eddie would’ve won if he didn’t retire
If this then that.
Probably not, Thor would have gotten the advantage with the loading race.

Funny how they didn't show Thor having a tantrum about Shaw's 12th rep on the deadlift.
If you're talking about the UK commentary, it isn't done live. Hence Colin Bryce can magically referee and commentate.
On the broader point, officiating is becoming an increasing problem as its not improving with the rest of the sport. Brian was bang on.
Questioning the judges when someone gets a rep literally on the whistle to tie you for your lead in an event is not "throwing a tantrum."
@@elliottengstrand5988 he did have a tantrum though. Were you there?
4640 Krystel Cape
457 Konopelski Roads
The British presented version is far better. What was all that nonsense starting about 19:10, they pretty much skipped the axle lift.
Adriel Parkways
Prime Mariuzs would’ve destroyed them all
Unlikely. If you look at his best lifts he would barely be competitive in some events now. The sport has grown massively since he competed.
Nah he didn’t win, Eddie did…
Instead of showing the event, show an interview of the event. Great.
Dislike button.

It's not easy to have almost no weaknesses. In my opinion, Thor, Shaw and Z are the only 3 guys in this elite league. And even out of the 3, Thor comes superior in my calculations. (Please note I'm always comparing Prime v. Prime for a fair comparison).
Every other Strongman in entire history had/ have one or more MAJOR weakness/es.
@bronchoped1 Lol, Thor went to Play with the Stones in the trial by Stone, boy wasn't even trying, Bag over bar, Thor has thrown heavier weights in the ASC, Deadlift? LOL, Thor went easy on the wheel of pain knowing one year before almost cost him the title, tbf Mateusz was a beast on the frame, no shadow of a doubt, dumbell? Thor had to bank 284, he did, went for a easy 300, then failed 330 but almost got it, Mateusz had yo went bear Mode in every event on the Classic to get Second place, Thor went to Play with the toys
@@antoniocenteno1483 I can remember the 330 Dumbbell of Thor, it was so close! He almost had it.
They said Brian lifted 441 in the overhead press, but the standings show him only doing 419? Im confused
The coverage of that event was a joke! Just basically skipped the best event
