      Every strongman fan thinks the same. It's a shame because they have the name recognition and history -- but they edit for TV not for the real fanbase. Though in 2021 I think they provided all lifts videos which is good.

    Bro who edited this so they skipped over one of the best events, the overhead medley, but ensured that we had excess amounts of unknown people talking? Did we really need to spend that much time on showing me the scorecards? I'd much rather watch the performance than read the report after.

      To be fair, if it’s just not your day and you have one or two bad events, that can make the difference between podium and 5-7th place. If you watch a lot of Giants Live or other UK competitions, you’ll see the placements all over just depending on the day.

    The fact that Thor did 7x750 with plantar fasciitis is INSANE. I had one of those injuries last month and I was LIMPING.

      If he wasn't injured he could have done 12+ reps with 340 (750). During training he did sets of 8 reps with 332 (732) like nothing with plenty more in the tank. He was so unfortunate with two injuries which hampered his squatting in WSM: unhealed quad tear in 2017 and fresh plantar fascia tear in 2019.

    The Stoltmans both did well on their very first finals event especially Tom winning.
    It was obvious from the start that Tom was gonna be one of the greatest.

    Incompetent editing choice. Overhead event should have been shown (it's a vital part of the competition). Whomever made this decision should not be put in that place again.

    The competition is world-class, the athletes are ofc elite & appreciated but get better commentary team, you guys can definitely do better and same with production but kudos regardless

    Why is it so difficult to watch these events without already knowing the winners? If you consume any kind of strongman or strength media you will undoubtedly have heard someone reveal the podium and you’re still weeks away from being able to watch the event.

    Why do strongman commentators insist on calling events 'games of chess', standing in place holding a weight for as long as possible is nothing like chess.

I was just pointing out that strongman requires mental focus as well. Being able to lift those weights under those conditions requires competitiveness and will power and focus; it's not just physical (though it is that too).

    I gotta say as a fan of strongmen I've been binging VSM the key to winning seems besides being in the top tier every event but also more importantly not completely fail at anything. Kieliszkowksi has always had something like the grip here, deadlift in other competitions or max squat where he falls out of the top 5 and it costs him the gold every time. Just makes you think how incredible some guys like Shaw, Big Z are that win 4!!! That means zero mistakes besides being godlike strong

      They mean bobble as in an error in movement, it would seem, as opposed to bauble, a decoration. One definition of bobble is "to move up and down quickly or repeatedly" (eg bobblehead), so perhaps they get it from that?

    He tries to make up for his lack of sport specific knowledge by spewing generalities which results in a mediocre product that is unworthy of the sport.

    Thor dropping that weight around 23:19 was incredibly irresponsible. I know he didn’t mean to and was clearly feeling faint but Brian managed to drop it much lower with less risk

      The man tore his plantar fascia in his foot in the heats of this WSM. You can see him limping off after the squat, he's very unsteady on his feet. After an injury like that doctors advise you not to work and be laid down. Here he is squatting 340kg, have some sympathy for the man instead of calling him irresponsible 😂

      They’re not booing, they’re shouting “Martiiiiiins”, which is something Martins says after he finishes an event. Licis used to have low selfesteem, so a therapist told him to shout his own name after he’d done something, and it helped him

      Agree. WSM erred in focusing on speed over strength. Shaw and Arnold classics corrected this. And showed all lifts. Superior productions to WSM.

      @@zanechristenson3436 Its not oil. If you injected your triceps and then did a 500-600kg yoke then you'd soon know about it. It's a genetic thing and its been spoken about multiple times. If he was a bodybuilder I'd agree with you but a strongman is not going to negatively impact his performance in such a stupid way.

      @@zanechristenson3436 Janashia has never lacked traps. I don't know what you've been watching, he had the same issue when he first competed in 2011 and there's a video somewhere of him at a Giants live in 2014 and you can see the same thing.

    In one of the pre-boxing match interviews, Eddie Hall commented on how much of an entitled dick Thor was at WSM. And you can totally see what Eddie was talking about during the squat lift. Thor just threw that bar down haphazardly (to the exasperation of the staff) and was immediately rushed by 5 members of his entourage. Such a bad look IMO.

    Qualifying rounds for the previous year’s champion is absolutely absurd. This practice should be eliminated by inviting 12-15 competitors ,who qualified from sanctioned competitions or finished in the top 5 the previous year, and have them all compete over 3 days with 2 events per day. Thor would have won this competition if not for the frivolous preliminary heats.
