Heyyy! Welcome back to my channel! Today’s video is going to be a very detailed video on how I retwist my locs without using any gel or any clips. I’ve been using this method for the past couple of months now and it’s been so easy maintaining my locs this way. I haven’t retwisted my hair in a while so my roots were definitely merged or married together which made separating them kind of uncomfortable. This whole process took me a little over an hour to complete and my results were raw!! 🔥

Deff gonna try this method w/o clips and gel. I feel like the less product the better. I consider this a soft retwist, as far as not over retwisting or causing too much tension to the roots. Love this video, thank you❤

Omg! I tried it and it worked.. I'm not a fan of the hooded dryer. I typically would air dry. Meaning I'd go to bed with the clips. Definitely my new way to do my retwist! Thank you. Can't wait for my 72 locs to this length. Almost there.

Thank you 🙏🏽 I’m happy that you consider my video a very good tutorial, I don’t think my videos are that good in showing how to do retwists, so that is reassuring to hear you say that. I wasn’t happy with a couple people because they used Jam gel and it was so sticky and flaky and stiff and I hated it. Also, I wasn’t happy with how they didn’t wash my hair good enough for me either. It always makes me feel good when I do my own hair. Even in the very beginning when I didn’t know how to, I just kept doing it and now I’m really really good.

thank you so much! Yes textures are different and most times plays a roll in how the retwist needs to be done or what products need to be used. Have you tried any water based gels?

How long did you keep you the ponytail in after you freshly retwisted you hair before letting it down any advise? You did amazing btw girl
I kept it in overnight. Like maybe 10 hrs. But I’d advise you to keep it in until the roots are dry. And thank you ❤️
How did you mix the aloevera mixture please
Added aloe Vera juice. Poured some glycerin inside and then some Made by SOMI herbal gold hair oil
What's the glycerin for?
It’s a humectant and it draws moisture from the air to your hair to keep it moisturized.

What can be done for thinning roots??
Hi!! Maybe less retwisting! Looser styles or no styles at all, no tight ponytails! A good herbal oil for your scalp and also gently scalp massages!

Would this work after i detox my dreads mines atm have alot of stuck and old gel etc in it from past retwists from shops after i detox and wash will it still be fine or no i had my dreads for around 12 years or so
Yes it would work but I think for product build up, you may need an actual detox. This version I do is just to cleanse my scalp, not relent to detox my roots and locs. I haven’t actually looked into making or doing a detox but I do know the apple cider vinegar, baking soda and lemon juice detox is very popular. Please look up some versions of this detox to help with your buildup

Hi! It depends on how short! If it’s athletic but still goes into a ponytail, then yes, you certainly can do it on short hair!

How long does it last
Hi, it lasts for about 2 weeks before it starts getting frizzy
My hardest thing is not to twist the wrong way
You can retwist your hair any way you want. You just have to make sure you do it the same way every time or your hair will find it hard to loc at the root
