@@JCharlee thank you!
Back again with yet another DIY and EFFECTIVE skincare hack: Manuka Honey 🍯 Why Manuka Honey vs regular honey? -higher pH and sugar content which may contribute to higher antibacterial activity (better for clearing skin irritations and concerns like acne) Benefits: -balances oily skin & hydrates dry skin -lightens dark marks -soothes sensitive skin -delays development of fine lines and wrinkles -keeps skin soft and moisturized w/humectant and emollient properties -manages dry skin symptoms like flaking and irritation -antioxidant, anti-inflammatory & antimicrobial properties promote acne healing -natural enzyme activity gently exfoliates skin to help keep pores clear of dirt, oil, and impurities -contains vitamins and minerals, including vitamin B3, potassium, and zinc -rich in antioxidant compounds known as phenols and flavonoids Summary: honey balances all skin types by supporting the natural moisture barrier. It’s a gentle and effective treatment for acne-prone + problematic skin. Lastly, it provides a natural and radiant glow to all skin types!
you are so pretty!
Yes but don't do it too often.
Alright. Thank you so much
❤❤I recommend just make sure brush is soft ❤❤
😳 the one I got says medium. You think I should return it and get soft??
I got my first one a few weeks ago and used it once. My plan is to use it periodically to eliminate lint buildup since its sweater season. I would not use it often ever.
I have a lot of lint and I really don’t like it at all. I bought it but I wasn’t very eager to use it at all. I mea. Do I just start brushing? Will it even work on the lint that’s already there? 😢 I will try after I wash my hair next
I know I always post about this but that’s because it really gets the job done 😭🙏🏽 My scalp always needs just a little extra care and pre-treating with apple cider vinegar before washing is my favorite way to ensure scalp health which obviously promotes hair growth ♥️ #ACV can be used to detoxify the scalp (and hair) because it has antibacterial AND antifungal properties. ACV can also help balance the scalp’s pH, which can reduce dandruff and improve the look and feel of hair. Steps: mix 1 part ACV with 5 parts water in a spray bottle. Spray scalp until very damp (almost fully wet) and massage scalp to break up debris for 10-15 mins. Cover with shower cap (or bonnet). Wash and style as usual. Repeat steps once or twice per month.
🥰
Okaaaay ❤
Beautiful ❤️🔥 love this!
Thank you! I really loved it, too
I’m just going to sleep posting clips of my skin cuz hormonal acne will be back one day.. but until then ✨✨✨✨ BTW: I’ve been *slugging* with @madebysomi Whipped Butter and I know you might think putting extra whipped butter on your acne prone skin will break you out…well I’m here to tell you: that’s a myth. Protecting the skin barrier and keeping yummy ingredients and moisture IN, is what gives you soft, supple and glowy skin (even if you’ve got serious hormonal acne, like me) 😊
I'm 16 months in and I want nothing less than healthy nourished locs. My biggest fail is not drinking enough water. I follow all the other hair care rules.
Heyyy!!! That’s good! Do you feel not drinking enough water is affecting your locs??
My locs are 4.5yrs old👇🏽 -I started them with aloe vera gel and @madebysomi herbal gold hair oil -I wash my hair (focusing heavily on my scalp) every 2-3 weeks -speaking of scalp, I make sure my scalp is as healthy and as clean as humanly possible (check previous posts about my witch hazel scalp care routine) -I moisturize my locs AND scalp with @madebysomi Refresh treatment spray and seal with Herbal Gold hair oil twice per week, and sometimes just once (listen to your crown!) -I don’t do tight styles or retwist my edges (even my stylists know this, I will QUICKLY separate my edges for you while in the chair!) -limit gels.. I would even say avoid creams/pomades/wax, but y’all not gonna listen anyway 😭 -WRAP YOUR HAIR! Listen, I learned the hard way. Silk/satin PLEASE! -if you can avoid bleaching for color, please do. If you decide to bleach/color, please don’t DIY 🥹 -if you are a self maintenance kinda person (like me), treat your locs/scalp every once in a while: go to a trusted and reputable stylists for a good cleaning/treatment That’s all I have for now 😭 did I miss any?!
God bless
God bless ❤️
You did that 😍😍🔥🔥
Girrllll I wish 😭 I went to a lady near my area for her to do it for me and I loved it so much
🔥🔥🔥🔥 when my locs get long enough I will be doing this.
This is absolutely a good initiative 🎉
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Does it have to be closed the thought of getting stuck gives me anxiety 😢
No you don’t have to close it. It’s like a room and you lock the door. So no one can come in. I close it because it feels warm and cozy for me
They all reduce inflammation. Not sure why Cod liver in particular is preferred. I’m guessing because of its natural habitat it’s a better quality.
Cod liver oil may be considered preferable because of the higher concentrations of vit A and D. Retinols, synthetic vitamin A like tretinoin (retinoids) and retinoic acid are well known in the skincare industry so cod liver has its place! Fish oils are made from the oils extracted from the fatty tissues of fish and cod liver from the liver of cod fish, specifically. So that’s basically why some dermatologists say it’s preferable
Wow wow!!!!😮😮 They are sooo long now..make some more love videos
🥹🥹🥹🥹 I will 🙏🏽 thank you 💝
These are what I have personally researched and recommend as part of a wholistic approach to clearer skin ✨ Vitamin D: -Highly anti-inflammatory and can help treat skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and vitiligo. -Prevents premature aging and can help regulate oil production and skin cell dynamics. -Promotes collagen production and helps give skin cells strength and shape. -Lastly, Vitamin D can help protect against sun damage. Zinc: -Reduces inflammation, redness/swelling, and helps to reduce oil production. -Studies show that patients who were treated with zinc noticed a decrease in active breakouts compared to those who didn't. -Encourages wound healing and helps to reduce residual acne scarring. Probiotics + Prebiotics: -Regulates the immune response which improves skin barrier function. -Reduces inflammation. -Some clinical trials have shown that probiotics can reduce the number of acne lesions, improve skin quality and reduce the duration of use of traditional acne treatments. Oral Cod Liver oil: -Excellent for hyperpigmentation, especially in the form of acne scarring and discoloration from repeated facial breakouts. -Works to heal acne by providing a boost of vitamins A and D. -While it also contains some omega-3s, the dosage is much lower than that of fish oil. (Let me know in the comments if you want a discussion on why cod liver oil is preferred over fish oil and why a smaller dose of omega-3s is actually important) What do they all have in common? Comment below so we can keep the conversation going 😊
Is it ok to avoid doing retwist? I don't want my locs to get skinny so I have been waiting 3 months or more. I also love my frizzy hair pooking out.
Yes it is okay to avoid. I have not retwisted mine in a long time. But I want to do it tomorrow cuz I’m going on a date this weekend lol
Love it🥰
Wowu! Look at that growth 😍
Yesss 😍🥰🥰
Looks amazing ❤❤❤😊
Thank you so much 🥰
Locs not dreads
@@kluv5560 I can call mine dreads and you can call yours locs 🥰😌
Your hair is beautiful😊
Aw thank you so much darling 🥹🥰
So thankful that this issue has been resolved 🙏🏽🥹👇🏽 Disclaimer: I am a licensed and practicing clinical pharmacist, not a licensed Dermatologist. Therefore, all recommendations, opinions and suggestions provided are within my scope of practice and per personal experience. I had a recent seborrheic dermatitis flare around feb/march. It presented in patches around my hairline; however, the section shown in video was the biggest patch 🥹 Seborrheic dermatitis is a form of eczema. It causes an intense itch and can get so bad that you scratch enough to make your skin bleed. It also makes your skin red and inflamed and may be scaly, or crusty. You may see rough, leathery patches that are sometimes dark and can cause swelling. Some personal and cultural habits that can contribute to seborrheic dermatitis include: frequent use of pomades and other hair products chemical relaxers infrequent shampooing excessive brushing This was my treatment regimen: ✅ I did not retwist the area or apply any edge control/twisting gel on top of the affected area. As you can see, my follicles were blocked from the scales which caused temporary hair loss and I needed to be diligent in the regrowth process ✅ I gently lifted the huge plaques with a tweezer whenever I wanted to treat the area ✅ I used a cotton round and gently applied witch hazel to cleanse the affected area regularly ✅ I sprayed Refresh Treatment Spray on the area then applied a small amount of Herbal Gold Hair Oil (@madebysomi hair oil comes with an essential oil blend, but I added a few extra drops of tea tree essential oil to my bottle due to my symptoms) ✅ IF the area became itchy, I added a small dab of over the counter hydrocortisone 1% ointment OR organic aloe vera gel from Vitamin Shoppe for soothing and moisturizing properties ✅ I shampooed with Oats, Milk & Honey African Black Soap - if I was not washing all of my hair, I would apply some to the area and gently dab with water using a face towel until there weren’t any traces of cleanser ✅ I protected my hairline with a satin/loose bonnet instead of a tight satin scarf ✅ I did this for almost 3 months and today my scalp/hairline is healthy and clear! This experience taught me the effectiveness of patience, managing stress and paying attention to what my scalp/skin is telling me. Ever since then, I do not retwist my edges/hairline and I am completely fine with that look. I have gone back to mainly using aloe vera gel as edge control and I gently cleanse the area with witch hazel (sometimes Botanically Balanced Facial Toner) and moisturize/seal very regularly. These steps have kept my hairline healthy and flourishing. Please drop any additional comments, questions, concerns or SUGGESTIONS down below!! -SOMI
•your *new and improved* braid spray •can be used on all textures, genders & ages • nourishes scalp •stimulates follicles •softens, conditions & moisturizes Suggested Use: Apply ReFresh (tx spray) directly to scalp for maximum hydration. Can also be used as a leave-in spray after washing/conditioning or as a curl refresher. Apply Herbal Gold (hair oil) immediately after to seal in moisture. Shake well before use.
This looks good. I’m definitely doing it
Yessss. The curly attachment got tangled very fast though 😢
OMG your locs are so long!
😊
Deff gonna try this method w/o clips and gel. I feel like the less product the better. I consider this a soft retwist, as far as not over retwisting or causing too much tension to the roots. Love this video, thank you❤
Nobody cares about your hair
Oh my friend but they do! UA-cam even pays me for the views 🙏🏽🤲🏽☝🏽
I just love your hair
Aww thank you 🥰 my hair was so short here lol thank you so much for watching
Happy Birthday 🎉
Thank you!!!
So I finally got a proper “weave ponytail” 🥰 I needed to do something different for my birthday this year 🎂 (see previous post) So the story goes like this: @chivikchitex started a new life in Texas, thus I had no one to do my hair 🥹🫡 During my appointment with @kwminks THE DAY BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY, I lamented about how I didn’t know who would do my hair and boom! She FaceTimed @miahonloc right away, and just like that: appointment secured. Thank you Miah for my hairstyle and for being able to get all this hair into a very seamless and lightweight ponytail ❤️
❤❤❤❤
Beautiful locs gang 2 years and 7 months loced 🎉🎉🎉
