This music puts me in a tranquil flow state for the level to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I died plenty on the run, but this shit puts me in the zone.
It's like the music is constantly telling you to calm down from the rage. "It's ok, you can try again, rest a little in the bench and look at those birds"

That is until the gentle melody abruptly stops as a blaring Carl’s Jr ad suddenly shouts at me to try their new nasty burger in the middle of the relaxation.
Personally, think it would have been very funny if the picture didn't change and it just continued to zoom in on the one retainer until only his face was on the screen.
i just beat white palace on my first playthough of hollow knight, and just listening to this song gets my nerves fried in sheer anxiety, and i still plan to do a steel soul 112%. *shudders agressively* Edit: since dying in the white palace isnt like a normal dream death do you...? oh no please tell me no Edit 2: oh son of a BI-
You can avoid dying in the white palace by equipping grubsong+deep focus. even if you take damage, you will always have soul to heal and that soul heals two masks. You'll be fine!
@@purplebaze8183 I had never considered using deep focus, I was expecting hiveblood but I suck at hive knight so that wouldn’t work, but deep focus is a really good idea, any clue if grubsong stacks with soul catcher/soul eater?
I beat the white palace in around 3-4 hours. Not bragging but, It wasn't that hard. I did have 2 other endings though. so that might explain my T R U E G A M E R M O V E S. I was litteraly on a call with friends for like 2 hours of it. I played on switch. Super fun would not do again.
Strange how such a calming and relaxing, harmonious track plays in likr the hardest area in the game, also hearing this song without hearing *BZBBZBZBBBBBZBZZZZZZZT* is a strange experience.
devs are lucky the composer is a genius. probably the only thing keeping me climbing the palace at this point. god-bugs bless the damn hiveblood charm tho...it's also putting in one hell of a shift.

Todo mundo falando do Path of Pain ou que a música é tranquila, pra mim ela teve um efeito diferente, ela soa como algo triste, tal como a tragédia do Rei Pálido.
A discrepância da calmaria e do sentinento etéreo que essa música exprime não coincide muito com o lugar em si. Acho que esse tema se enciaxava no lugar mais quando Hollownest era vívida, e o Palácio era o local mais chique de todos

It's not a perfect workaround (2 Grubsongs gives 30/soul, while healing requires 33 soul) but it's very very good. Better than Hiveblood at least
