A town ? An outpost ? Its walls vanished with its inhabitants, swallowed by the desert. Bugs are fleeting.
This song is very calm, yet so painfully sad, like seeing a candle consuming itself knowing that it's flame will die
Don't know if you know what this means, but for my D&D game Curse of Strahd this is the theme song for one of the saddest characters in the game, Ireena, who is basically living on borrowed time.
That is one hell of an analogy

This song has helped my newborn baby sleep when she would cry at night id play this and she would be out so thank you TC for the year of better sleep. Also she loves to sit and "play" games with me and hollowknight is one of our favorites together she just looks so enthralled everytime we boot it up. So we are definitely playing sliksong together when it comes out.
I don't think it's healthy for infants to watch screens, due to the blue light they emit.
@@mostdefinitelynotaguineapi7566 its actually just fine, if you get them to wear bluelight glasses (probably difficult for a baby), you can also turn on a bluelight filter on pretty much any screen.

And when i thought Pale Court was a masterpiece, this decided to show up in my recommended, and i don't mind it at all.
I cannot believe that Lace is more popular than this song. It sounds so... mysterious.
but lace song is just so good, though...
Maybe it's because Lace is a string quartet throwing fire in 5/4 and 6/4 and that kind of crazy stuff, but this is also a great piece almost in the opposite side of the spectrum hahaha
the only gripe i have with that is that there are some people that have listened to lace and not bonebottom

This theme gives me the feeling of dealing with a trauma that impacted your life immensely, to the point you have lost the 1 thing that gave your life meaning, a reason to smile, to keep going one, to be who you thought you really wanted to become one day, and finding fufillment in even the smallest things or even the big things in your life.
And that despite the pain this gave in your life, the horror, the hole you where stuck in all this time and had to find a way to keep going despite getting reminded every day of that immense pain you wished and begged to get rid of.
You finaly can see a small light at the end of the dark tunnel you walked all this time in, and you thought wasn't even there anymore dispite the fact that everyone kept saying around you that it is there. you thought all this time that it was nothing but a lie by those who would never be able to understand or comprehend the type of pain you where dealing with, that dispite the good people around you telling you to keep going no matter what happens and to never give up you kept walking not for yourself but for them (the people who cared about you) but only with only a fraction of your own hope that it might one day end.
And now... You finaly can see that glimmer of that light you searched so desperately for after all this time of despair. And you try't to reach out for it despite not being there at the end of the tunnel yet.
after all this time you finally found/felt true hope return to you again, and walked even further in that damn dark tunnel of endless negative influence. No longer stuck/chained to despair, no longer haunted by the memories, no more voices telling you this and that awfulness, and you begin to except who you truely are, as your flawed self that is oke to be who they chosen to be.
And now... you walk with a calmer mind towards that light. Slowly... still reaching for it but finaly with hope and confidence once again in yourself... knowing one day you will be ready to get to that light at the end of the tunnel eventually.
How calming, until a giant black monster with a skull for a mask rampages through your village

This song is a town theme for one of the starting areas, so I fear that means I won't progress in the game until I've sat on a bench in this town for at least an hour

anyone else think this sounds like dirtmouth, if not a little bit more alive? if dirtmouth is sitting next to the grave of someone you knew and cared for, bonebottom sounds like being at the funeral, watching a dear friend getting lowered into a grave. something about it reminds me of being forced to let go and come to terms with your memories never including them again.
To me it feels like sitting by their bed knowing they won't make it. There's a sad hopefulness to it, as if daydreaming about their recovery.

without a doubt this reflex part of the essence of Hornet, which theme in the original game has a epic melody, that strongly contrasted with an armony fullfilled of bittersweet sadness
now, this Bonebottom gives me chills... how much pain can carry a person? how much it has to suffer?
when the strings comes into the song, the sky goes brighter, the hope becomes truth, and you are not longer alone
just like that, beyond suffering, everyone can be happier just looking around
you know how I heard this? I was watching someone talk about theories in another video on youtube pertaining to Destiny, it was so faint in the background I could barely hear it. But when my ears did catch the slow melodic tune, I really focused in on what was being said by the song. To me, it just felt like a world full of sadness and loneliness, as if you were wandering a vast emptiness of land with rain coming down on you, and you just lost everyone you cared about in the whole world. And you were by yourself, wondering why are you here, how did this happen? How long do I have left? When I found this clip, and listened to the beginning, I knew I found that sadness I felt from the other video. I knew deep down that this was what I felt, and then the tears poured out, down my face, like unwanted heartache.
If theres one thing to help with the wait for the game, its this. Just let the hours fly by as you loop this.
You can't resurrect time. It'll come it comes, but right now it's the present, and given the choice of how to spend many months or years, I'd rather not spend them waiting when I could be doing something worthwhile.
i like to think that this song will play similar to a "resting ground" area in the game.
We know bonebottom is the main "dirtmouth hub" type section of the game, but it may have the same tone or feel to it.
Going to use this as background music for my D&D campaign. It's the morning after a particularly traumatizing battle that the party had with a doppelganger disguised as one of them, and they're all reeling. This will be playing as they individually process the events of the night before.
Hollowknight's visual design, worldbuilding and music make me want to write SO BAD
Then write, my friend. Believe me, it will be a journey you shall never forget.

What is one of the thing you are most exited for in Silksong? I'm exited for all of the acrobatics. Flips and dashes excite me.
The music. Tracks like these are so full of life and story, I wanna hear them all!
Oh, and the new tools system. I love the idea of getting to craft your weapons instead of simply finding them, it just sounds awesome.
I'm exited for a speaking protaganist. And I'm exited for the kingdom to explore and all the fights I'll have in it.
It'll feel like discovering Hollow Knight all over again...and that'll be beautiful.

This is the song I've listened to the most amount of times in my life. This piece is extraordinary lovely. Each particular note played is otherworldly. The final section with it's downward step-wise motion is comprised of the most wonderful tones I have ever listened to. Christopher Larkin is a musical genius and deserves all the praise he is given.

I love how this game will be so calm but also hell when we fight hard bosses
A town, long abandoned and destroyed. Left to rot, the denizens long gone, or dead. All that remains is the things these bugs left behind, and you to discover them.
That is I imagine when I hear this song, its so beautiful but it sounds like a place abandoned to time or smth else. Christopher Larkin and the Silksong team cooked on the OST, I cant wait to get to Bonebottom, More importantly, I cant wait to play Silksong.
