I watched a mini series about the Romanov family a while back which was very interesting. They were the most photographed people of their time, as they always had their cameras with them. So many candid and family photos of them exist. Such a tragic end for them, though, especially with the children all being so young.
+musicsmylyfe18 Hi. It was a mini docu series on BBC called Russia's Lost Princesses. It was only 2 or 3 episodes, I think, but they were fascinating. It was pretty in depth and included a lot of photos and little video clips of them.
They are regarded as "the princess Diana's of their time" being that they were so heavily documented in photography by the world wide press and more so in their own personal collection. Everyone in the world wanted a glimpse of the Grand Duchesses of Russia.
It's actually quite astonishing how you resemble the Romanov sisters with just this one styling tutorial. Sometimes I see your thumbnail for this video on my feed, and at first glance you could easily be mistaken for either Maria or Tatiana. Great tutorial.
with the no-make-up make up looks, I love how you give tips on how to create similar features (ie rounder eyes, higher cheek bones, smaller/bigger lips) to fit the 'beauty ideal' of the time - and I would love to see it more especially in periods where they wore very little - no make up! I love every single one of your looks and I hope beauty beacons continues because I love it so!
Your tutorials are such a breath of fresh air. It's so nice to have someone show how to guides on elegant, timeless hair tutorials! So glad I came across your page.
I agree with most of the posters, this is a very good look for you. Its classic, romantic, and beautiful and you should totally wear this for special occasions.
THANK YOU!! i've been looking for an OTMA hair tutorial forever!!! could you please do 1914 Maria?? you have the perfect hair for it!!! and 1914 tatiana?! i cut my hair short SPECIFICALLY for her!! xx
It truly helps to be beautiful to start with like you are ! . . Nice video ! These sisters were beautiful . It makes their end even more of a sad story to have died in such a way . . . 🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀
Your very talented and very beautiful. I followed you steps all but curling. I got about the same end result, just with out the wavness. Please keep making videos, and teaching other bueaty tip, and historical facts. Very impowering.
I'm so in love with your Beauty Beacon series, there's so many tutorials done on youtube of people from present time and it is so nice to see a beauty lover shine light on some people and looks from long ago I don't know if they've been requested before but I would love to see one of Clara Bow or maybe Mary Pickford (I would to see her signature hairstyle recreated) ♥
this is my favorite one you've done so far, it looks lovely. here are some beauty beacon suggestions: Dorothy from wiz of oz, girl from the secret garden, madonna, and bananarama's hair from cruel summer
that was brilliant . queen Elizabeth is related to Russian royal family . queen Victoria is related to king alexsandre family tree amazing they still alive x
I'm a guy and I've often looked at that hairdo in all sorts of pics, from the Romanov sisters to Jane Seymour's in "Somewhere In Time". I've always wondered how they did that hairstyle, because it is a very attractive style and accentuates the beauty in a woman, I think. Thanks for showing me how they get "that look"!!!
Thank you so much for this video! I am a fan of the Romanovs sisters, specially Maria Nikolaevna.. she's my fave. Can you do a hair & make-up tutorial of Charlotte of Belgium? or something of the 1860's? Take care!
Wow, what a beautiful look on a beautiful young woman, such as you!!! I've also got a "crush" on the Romanov sisters, who, like you, were extraordinarily beautiful. Thanks for posting!!
I really loved ! Gorgeous ! Absolutely amazing !!! congratulations!!!! You should do the hair of the beautiful grand duchess elisabeth feodorovna !! she was definitely one of the most beautiful princess of history!
great style, it really suits you! I was wondering if you could do something on Sappho, Agrippina Major, Eleanor d'Aquitaine or some other "older" famous women. I love ancient and medieval history :)
I watched all of you beauty beacons and loved everyone. I would love to see one for Queen Elizabeth I or her half sister Queen Mary better known as Bloody Mary. looking forward to other videos. thank you for the fun :)
I believe you resembled a bit of the beautiful Miss Helena Bonham-Carter there; from a most iconic film of hers. You are divinely elegant in your delicate, quietly confident and most unpretentious nature; I think you're a most charming beauty! T.Y. 100 times, and keep the videos accumulating! :-)
I love this so much, it's a tragedy of what happened to them but it's seriously my favorite history of Russia, they're so fascinating well in my opinion
+144Sushi I've always admired her intelligence and cunning. And I love the hairstyle from "I, Claudius" when she's a bit older and her hair looks like a cobra's hood.
Mathilde Kschessinska was a famous Russian ballerina (mistress of Tsar Nicholas II before he married Alexandra Feodorovna), sadly because of the terem system, there weren't many Russian women famous for their beauty before Peter the Great.
que bonitos esos peinados, no como la moda actual, no cabe duda que las Romanov fueron las originales 'it girls' hace 100 años, y en cierta forma lo siguen siendo.
I love your tutorials based in history. I find all of that fascinating and there's some great techniques to be learnt from history. Have you come across Evelyn Nesbit? I just came across an article on her on Pinterest - fascinating life she had and I was surprised at the amount of famous works of art she modelled for. Mainly Nouveau posters but some paintings too. She was arguably the first supermodel and it girl. Look her up on Wikipedia, I'm sure you'd find it interesting :)
I love russian history, specially the last Romanov's, your video was such a nice surprise!
I think Maria is most beautiful of four. She looked like cheeky Vadyanova
Same!

Saoirse Kavanagh And the world still does. I get very happy when I see big, high quality newly discovered photos of them.
The family was just so out of touch
The way they lived so lavishly while all the peasants starved.
It's actually quite astonishing how you resemble the Romanov sisters with just this one styling tutorial. Sometimes I see your thumbnail for this video on my feed, and at first glance you could easily be mistaken for either Maria or Tatiana. Great tutorial.
Her face is a bit too narrow for Maria. I think more of Tatiana around 1912 or so.
@@rememberotma6124 Yeah, I think she resemble Tatiana more😊
Rebirth probably.

+Faerie Bauer Livia's such a good idea !
