When I first played this boss battle, I was worried bowser was going to be able to *counter attack* like he can when you play as him. I spent like 20 minutes trying to figure out which attack to use that he couldn't avoid, only to discover fighting him is just like any other boss and he's not that difficult except for avoiding his special attacks
I love Bowser's sneer at 2:18. It's like he's amused thinking, "Look at these idiots..." Always love seeing Mario characters be more expressive than they usually are

S-tier Mario game, but it always teased me when I was young that there was no way to reverse roles in this fight, where you could fight the Bros. as Bowser and discover how to dodge/counter their attacks. Like if they try Woohoo Cannon to hurt me as Bowser, I can duck or punch back while the cannons fire, or the goombas can use themselves to protect Bowser from a Fire Flower and I’d use the touchscreen to order where the goombas went. Plus to balance things out, Bowser won’t be able to use the vacuum block because Dr. Toadley cast a spell in the room that neutralizes any shroom powers maybe.
As much as I agree with you it would be cool. I feel as if we were able to play as Bowser. There wouldn't be much of a boss fight as it would be too easy without some sort of gimmick while fighting the bros. Because if we were just to counter attack the bros, the boss fight would be far too easy.
Well if you've played the game, Bowser doesn't know the Bros have been inside his body the whole time. He simply thinks they're trying to get in his way

This battle is an iconic moment in the game for me. After spending so long helping Bowser regain his strength without him knowing, now you have to fight against the attacks YOU helped him learn. It makes the bros seem so strong- no matter how many enemies you plow through as Bowser, the bros can still clean his clock!

Ugh! I think this is the battle that made me rage quit and never return. I always regretted not trying again and completing the game. It's been so long now since that day that if I returned, I wouldn't remember a single thing about the game anymore. I'd have to start from the very beginning again. The battle lasted so darn long that I used up all super mushrooms etc. and STILL lost.
Imagine if Bowser got his own boss arena, and the secret final boss would be the Mario bros, where you need to counter their traditional attacks like they do with Bowser in this fight. Jump- Mario or Luigi would jump and you’d need to expose your spikes to counter it Hammer- Either bro will come up to you and charge their hammer attack, and you need to punch them to avoid getting clobbered. Green shell- Punch the shell back at the bros when it reaches you Fire flower- This is their version of the “unavoidable flame attack” in the Bowser fight Jump helmet- One bro will be jumping toward you on the helmet and you’d need to either spike or punch them depending on how accurate they are Yoo Who cannon- Mario and Luigi would launch out of the cannons, Mario directly at bowser, requiring punches, and Luigi would launch himself in the air, needing Bowser to block his attacks with his spiked shell once Mario is done.
Don’t listen to people who say “skill issue.” This game is actually a bit difficult to beat, and I never did beat Bowser X; only dark bowser and the other “X” bosses.
I love this game so much but oh dear GAWD it tests my slow processing speed and impulsiveness so hard.😂Wasted two retry clocks and deluxe 1-ups to beat Bowser.
the hard part is when you get to his second phase where he does the fire breathe, its not that hard to dodge but he can do 2 attacks in one turn, and if your lucky enough hes gonna use shy guy squad and goomba storm
Oh that's fine, I did it before but the graphics were messed up. I'm redoing all the bosses with the smoother graphics and whatnot. I'll post the final boss against Dark Bowser soon, when I get back up to him.
@TheLuckyandHappyShow Get the Jump Helmet and Fire Flower. The enemies under Toad Town are your best bet. LEARN TO DODGE. Speed is speed. When you level up, you see your stats go up. Simple as that. No more questions.

There's a trope called "The Computer is a Cheating Bastard" meaning the AI will always do things players can't, even when they're using the same character
@TheLuckyandHappyShow how can you not have jump helmet? to pass to toad town,and this boss battle,you need to go somewhere in the clouds,speak with 3 koopas,which will teach you a new move with blue shell and give you all 10 attack pieces which form a jump helmet. And for the fire flower,if you missed it,go back to a certain part of bowsers body

After. They had found the Pipe Yard which lets them out of Bowser's body periodically. Bowser is completely unaware of this, however.

You can do it! It just takes a bit of practice, and watching which way the Goombas are facing as they fall
