Sorry for the long delay. A lot of stress(from both the video and work) caused it.
So here we are with the battle against Fawful(finally!) and his new powers. His helmet will pretty much prevent you from dealing any major damage to him, so just stick with punches and fire breath until it finally detaches from his head. Inhale it, and let the Bros deal with it. If you're fast and strong enough, you can kill the helmet before it leaves Bowser's body. More on that later. While dealing with Fawful, pay attention to his attacks, specifically the star beam and his portal/dark energy things. Watch the star you have to punch, and watch what portal links to the ones near Bowser.
As for the Helmet, it'll start off by sucking up one of your blocks, and then using one Bro as a weapon against the other. Jump on it to stop the attack, then hit it once again to get the block back. His other attack consists of shooting orbs at the Bros, but fortunately they're color coded so you can at least tell who it's aimed at. Once you're set, attack the helmet with your strongest attacks. If you're good, you can take this thing down before it leaves Bowser's body
I love how Fawful never lost his manner of speaking, even when he became the main villain. He managed to come across as threatening while also being hilarious. I guess having that cape really helped.
Another thing is just that damn maniacal grin as he crosses his arms and takes flight with the helmet. It's like he's saying "whatcha you gonna do about it?" or something.
Fawful’s villainous outfit looks to be inspired by Cacklettas old coat. He doesn’t really start until finding a good sidekick too. I like to think this is his way of taking up the role of evil successor from his old master.
Fawful is a true Mario and Luigi antagonist. He was in all three games and latched onto out memories with his clever yet horrible English. He survived the defeat of Cackletta and layed low for the whole second game only to seek revenge in the third. He is truly a worthy adversary.
I like how bowser is standing in the same spot as he was in the tutorial battle with mario, just facing left instead of right.

I like how Fawful has his own theme in the remake.
They made his dark orb attack where they circle around him very irritating to block. They move fast as heck now. I had a bit of trouble with it.

Honestly Fawful really was a great villain for these games, I know that's not an unpopular opinion but there's just a lot of meat to the deranged bean.
The character arc of minion to master, his actual victory for most of the game, his funny way of speaking, his massive ego, the food/eating motif that underlies a lot of his personality and actions (to the point he's even got Bowser complimenting his cooking) and just a lot of smaller details like him being stressed out or him going more crazy over the games. Also his final form looks really cool and is easily the most creative one in the series.
This is one of my favorite bosses in the game purely because, after all this time, Bowser finally fights Fawful. One on one.
Fawful will always be one of my favorite villains.

It's interesting comparing the two different versions of this fight. As much as I like the atmosphere the remake version gives, I prefer this version for how much faster and more frantic it is.
I like Fawful's guts.
He just straight tells Bowser that he hates him.

It probably would have been anticlimactic, but would anyone else have preferred Fawful absorbing the entire Dark Star? It could've been Bowser vs. an incomplete Dark Bowser that gets absorbed after losing. Then you take down a fully powered Dark Fawful. After all, he was the antagonist for the whole game.
Dark Spider Fawful is terrifying.
Am I the only one who just relies that Fawful was singing a parody of Scooby-Doo when he was searching for the Dark Power?

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Fawful and Cackletta defeated by the Bros.
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. Shroobs invaded in the past, when the Bros were still babies. Shroobs defeated.
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Fawful invades as revenge for his previous defeat. Fawful & Dark Star destroyed completely
giving him his own battle theme on the remake aand changing the enviroment makes the fihgt 10x better
Except his battle theme in the remake sucks.
For future reference, you can attack the vacuum helmet with one of Bowser's special attacks, even if it's on Fawful's head. I saw a guy do Shy Guy Squad on it successfully.
Goomba Storm, Shy Guy Squad, Magikoopa Mob, and Broggy Bonker will target the helmet. Punch, Flame, Koopa Corps and Bob-omb Blitz won’t work on the helmet
@Shinixanta I guess it doesn't occur to you that I'm doing that on purpose. I was simply stalling for time, waiting for the helmet to leave Fawful so I could inhale it.

I love "Destroy the Dark Power!" for Dark Star in the remake and, despite "A Fateful Clash!" being a good theme and I like Dark Fawful got his unique theme as well, I think it's not as fitting for a battle as "Tough Guy Alert!".
dark fawful is looking for a hidden power up in super mario 3d land in special world 8-3.
Fawful needs to be in the next Smash Bros in some fashion
He would be indeed a good character to represent the Mario&Luigi serie than Antasma.
Not to mention he was the first to actually Succeed in taking over the Mushroom Kingdom.

@wizzcunha It's 2 games after Superstar Saga. The reason Fawful didn't die is because Luigi hammered him and sent him flying. Cackletta had her body AND soul destroyed by the Mario Bros, hence why Fawful is still alive here.

The detail is that this place is the place fawful first shows up when bowser is defeated at the beginning of the game and at the end of the game bowser defeats fawful.
When Bowser takes too much damage, he takes on the "Fury" status. Where he turns orange and starts smoking with rage. In this form, his attack power is increased, but his defense is decreased. That never happened to you in this game?

1:10 Fawful says his signature phrase "fink-rat" for the last time. And yes in this game it was changed to I have chortles, but it was originally fink-rat in Superstar saga!

It's barely anything if you're a decent level and just spam Broggy Bronker, it does like 600-700 damage each time
He at least got 1,000 from Dark star since he did say he only had half of power

If you get the red key from the Fawfulcopter in Peach's Castle, you find the Magikoopas locked in a cage. Broggy Bonker is obtained when you find all 15 blitties that are hidden inside enemies and deliver them to Broque Monseur. The blitties are obtained by inhaling them. Check the Super Mario Wiki to find a list of where the Blitties are
i love it when the last blitty is a lucky hit.
I was kinda disappointed to see that the helmet only gave 220 EXP. For the kind of work you have to put in to kill it, 1500 would have been more reasonable.

@shockwavedsi That was how I fought him in my practice run, then I realized how much SP that takes up. Which is why I wait for his helmet to detatch before I fight for real
he may be a babbling nerd but hes an awesome one
I learned that you have to destroy fawful's headgear first that way his headgear won't continue to heal his HP then you have to use Bowser's vacuum block ability to have his head gear go into Bowser's body then I recommend using Mario and Luigi first once the headgear is gone then Bowser can start taking down fawful

@superdrybowser1000 Fawful absorbed half the power of the Dark Star, became Dark Fawful. This is AFTER Giant bowser fights Peach's castle. Dark Bowser, which is the Dark Star after copying Bowser's power, is currently searching the castle, looking for Fawful

My strategy for this guy is just to Broggy Bonker the living crap out of him, then when the helmet comes off, suck it in and let loose the fury of the gods. It helps that I use SP saving equipment a lot.

@The11deano Yup, I know. I just choose to wait until the Vacuum Helmet detaches so I don't have to waste so much SP
I think he means Bowser's status effect, Rage.

@thebuse23 When he heals, I take off that much to whatever I've done. It still adds up, and it doesn't go over his HP. So if I do 100 damage and he heals for 300, it doesn't give him 200 extra hp, it only maxes out his hp.
@Shinixanta You have got to read other comments before saying that. deadlykidCs is saying that he's using the fire attack so he could use up all the time for the helmet to leave.
This fight is pi** easy. If you get Broggy Bonker, you'lll defeat him in 4 perfect blows, and never take damage.
I’d say that most of the fights in the game are pretty easy and can be beaten on your first try I even beat the first dark star fight on my first try even though it took me like twenty minutes

Yeah I just replayed the entire game and I lost my first attempt against the train
This fight isn't piss easy for me because of the one attack where you punch the goombas into fawful, which is only on the 3ds version

Am I the only one who has came back to 1:21 and 2:19 because of the Sans battle in Undertale? Considering how they do dodge attacks in-battle.
@wizzcunha also, Fawful appears in Partners in Time trading gear for beans, the difference is that only the baby versions could see him, like that Fawful did not recognize them

@sora412zx 1 - there was no button mashing here. How you see Mario & Luigi throwing the stars, that's literally as fast as they can go.

On my current file, I can get like halfway into destroying him, then all of a sudden he pulls off one of his bigger counter-attacks then it ends up killing me, any suggestions ?

@@Darisfaw It’s been a while now since I played and can’t recall all his attacks, but one where he shoots off a line of stars and the bigger one can be attacked (I think) - that one was tough I remember.

You know you can use the Goomba Storm attack on the Helmet to do extra damage right?
Yeah. Game wise, the shroobs were the second defeated, but chronologically, they were the first.

he means if you get to a low nuff hp with bower he will enter fury mode and do 2x what that attack would do
