Tony should've cut Punk off as soon as he started going into personal stuff with a "we're here to talk about the ppv matches only right now thanks, let's talk about the match Punk" Something like that could've changed everything that night
Vince Mcmahon would have never let this happen
Tony needs to grow a set. I would've thrown Phil's bag of cookies or whatever it was across the room and told him to piss off.
Wasnt his last moment with wwe him airing out backstage stuff on the mic?
I feel like when ppl pumped Punks head up over the "Shoot" interview he did when he left WWE the first time kinda went to his head and now he thinks he can do it whenever wherever.
The Punk media scrum is one of the most entertaining things in wrestling over the last decade.
Man, Franchise looks great for his age
Khan's big problem is he wants to be everyone's friend first and not the Boss he should know better but he is the trust fund fanboy
Ur an idiot. U dont know shit and just repeat things u hear to sound like u do. Thanks
Shane Douglas was owed something like $50k by Paul Heyman and (as I recall) Heyman still was a bitch about letting Douglas leave ECW for WCW. It would've been very easy for Douglas to go loose cannon in his final ECW days, but he didn't.
one thing that has really hurt AEW is no real streaming platform. They can put dark up on youtube but thats not going to be enough to generate new fans.
I was at the Buffalo show and I've heard people compare CM Punk and a Hulk Hogan and you want to know what I see him Punk got me back into wrestling Hogan got me into wrestling they're definitely the same because what happened after Chicago after all out
Learn to use punctuations
I'm no fan of Punk. But once he showed up in AEW. It definitely got me more interested in the company. I barely watch aew before that .
ECW and Shane Douglas very well known for airing out dirty laundry on the show and on dirt sheets and in the locker room and In other promotions
You don't air the dirty laundry. You badmouth people to friendly reporters in secret.
0:33 Shane Douglas didn't realize it but he just exposed who has been booking AEW from the very start. The Babylon Bee, it all makes sense now.
The press scrum is a hate crime against professional wrestling. Wrestlers sitting and speaking out of character about how much they enjoyed "working" with someone right after the match.
I think they have their own fan base and it won’t grow more than that. People like WWE and people like AEW styles
The debut episode was a 1.4, a number AEW has yet to match or exceed in 3 years. Not only have they not built an audience, they've lost hundreds of thousands of viewers. When does that become a problem for the network I wonder?
I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ACTING LIKE THIS IS A SHOOT
It’s very much a shoot.
SHANE SEEMS LIKE HE WANTS A BACKSTAGE ROLL AT WWE
Thank you Shane, says it clearly AEW biggest issue he is Not/ever going to be a real Booker/Boss.
The irony is pathetic, since Shane was calling out Flair for years knowing he was never gonna fight him but hated him for real...... Pathetic
Not a Douglas fan but he's right on this situation. Should have been dealt with in private. I wish they would get rid of these post PPV press conferences, they've become a place to air dirty laundry.
How are you into wrestling and not a fan of Shane Douglas
I HATE the press conferences. To me it takes me out of the match and storylines. I don't want to be "It's still real to me" guy, but I don't want Steven Spielberg to come out at the end of the movie to explain how he did what he did and why he did it.
@@justint8635 I'm just not. His in ring work was slow and boring plus he never wants to admit he wasn't that great and blames others for his shortcomings.
Rise and fall of aew was quick lol.
Lol you a wee fan I assume?
WWF is the Walmart, Apple or any other corporate GIANT that dominates
No matter what led up to it, Punk was unprofessional and Khan acted like a scared fan rather than a boss.
Whether Punk was right or not about everything that's going on, this was not the way to try and resolve it.
“You don’t air dirty laundry at work.”
Says the guy who launched his career by cutting shoot promos on Flair, Bischoff, Hogan, Vince, Kliq, etc. lol
That was under the direction of Paul Heyman though.
@@emperorburton Heyman gave him the forum and freedom to say what he wanted. He wasn’t putting words in his mouth. Contrary to revisionist history, PH didn’t like having to tell guys what to say during promos. He encouraged them to think for themselves and speak from the heart.
@@Narrate918 you just proved Eric's point.
@@louio not really
@@Narrate918 🤓
Not the place for it......unless the booker wants it to be said and heard.
The part that gets me is he is talking about punk for bashing the kliq 2.0(the elite),while HASN'T HE BEEN DOING THE SAME FOR 20 YEARS?
As it applies to the original kliq, and lets not even get started on flair lol,,,
I give to you Avena quaker commercial
good
C’mon Shane you were my favorite guy in the business in the ECW days. if you had a championship match with someone and that person as in Hangman did with Punk going into business for himself and shooting on the stick right in front of you bro you would have done much worse then Punk. I don’t think Shane understands what actually happened and how bad it made Punk look Shane would have cut hangman off and put him in his place 💯 percent not a good move by hangman.
No would say Vince is unprofessional. Neither would I. Haha
Coming from the guy whose gimmick the last 30 years has been airing dirty laundry, being bitter, and blaming everyone else for not making it.
You’re clueless
@@justint8635 Shane's alt account?
Ridiculous
Here the thing. These "Press" Conferences are glorified company promos. If they would maybe shed a little light on a match from a behind the scenes perspective and not storyboard driven during the conference, I'd see the point. It's like a good idea years too late for pro wrestling with these things. If they were more structured like that, this whole thing with CM Punk would be just a drop in the bucket. Wrestling is fake till its not, then nobody wants anything to do with it. As if the business will somehow be exposed.😂
We don't need behind the scenes anything. It kills the show and take everyone out of it
@@FatMenace I wasn't saying it's what was needed, I basically said it's an idea, because we don't need a fake ass media scrum period.
Umm... Folks know this is a work, right? Punk tore his triceps, requires surgery, out 6-8 months...... Kenny Omega came back too quick, he's also banged up and so are the Bucks. All are getting much needed time off with these "suspensions". Punk is one of the best promos, and knows how much "realism" feeds a good promo. They had to do something, the WWE has just got some momentum with the shakeup and VKM being gone, and some stars going back -- and AEW just lost CM Punk, the Bucks and Omega for the near future. It was an excellent promo -- he didn't go into business for himself, he DID business for TK and AEW. AND it apparently "worked".
I don't belive Shane understands the post match Scrum that AEW does and obviously isn't up to date with the talent relations within AEW.
Punk was unprofessional. The others weren't much better.
AEW is with TBS now i don't even think they're with tnt anymore. idk Bcuz i don't watch AEW.
But yet he throw down the Nwa title funny take Shane
Did Shane think that Punk's "...couldn't manage a Target" line from the press conference was a shot at him?
AEW throwing that story away..who knows what could have been..maybe the equivalent of Vince not using the Montreal Screwjob & not becoming the MrMahon character...
You don't air dirty laundry at work but what hangman did was right right airing punks dirty laundry at work thats fine right?
where can i find a video of the whole incident? i have seen short length but crappy
#cmWho
Bad Management Decisions and “inmates running the asylum” that is AEW in a nutshell. Plus random High Spots that mean nothing and short term lazy booking as well. That’s about it
I hope Phil Brooks never comes back.
So it's okay for Page to air dirty laundry on national TV but punk can't on UA-cam ....
Pot meet kettle
Didn't Hangman Page do it first?
Is it weird that my name is Terry Shane Douglas?
So right bring that crap up to your wife at home not to world wide audience watching on UA-cam
Doesn’t he manage a Target?
"You DON'T Air Dirty Laundry at Work!"...........it's too bad Phil Brooks considers himself "special"......I hate Phil.......
Punk is a punk. And no one will be chanting him again. And they haven't.
CM PUNK doesn’t Belong doing wrestling anymore. She’s Not into it It looked like to me and he Knew if He was on his way out and suspended and potentially not coming back That’s a way to do it. Just Spew Al the dirty laundry 🧺 during his post presser
This just shows that Punk is a bad guy ...
He has a Hulk-Hogan-contract (Creative Control, world champion, limited dates, good pay) and he has no respect for the boys, his boss or AEW.
A cancer in any locker-room, he embarrassed wrestling in the UFC and he only draws his indie-fans.
He expects respect and everyone to like him ...
And he disrespect veterans all the time ... Bischoff, HHH, Tony Atlas, Undertaker, AJ Styles, ...
funny how several wrestlers have said he help them and watched their matches. FTR also spoke up for him. so no he is not Hulk Hogan. While i agree airing dirty laundry is not the way to do it in public but page dd in in the ring first in the build to the championship match. and the evps did nothing to nip in in the bud or khan either. they should have nipped in the bud right then and there. sammy got suspended for his podcast comments on sasha banks, kingston for backstage fight but page just got to go on about his business because his buddies liked him and didn;t like Punk. Yes Punk is divisive to some people but stop trying to paint the Elite as these sweet innocent kids. they are in a position of power and failed to handle things. everyone is in the wrong here.
I always love Shane's interviews, but he's kinda lacking self awareness here. 🤣
