I was high when I got saved, and I stayed high for ten years. At first it wasn't an issue, but as the years went on, the Holy Spirit made it clear that smoking weed was not a lifestyle He wanted me to pursue. Life has been much, much better since giving it up.
Like many others have been saved while they were still in sin bit it doesnt mean u have to keep doing that after your saved many heroin addicts were addict when they were saved doesnt mean they have to keep doing heroin after their saved get what i mean?
I'm 25 years old i started smoking weed from age 13 till 22 I began smoking to cope with my mother being admitted into the hospital, and Grandfather, and my brother passingng away all in the same year. It was a really dark time in my life. Weed became my idol and I was addicted I even ventured off into sipping lean but by the grace and strength of God I gave up smoking weed and sipping lean 4 years ago.
Just quit after smoking everyday since i graduated high school (roughly 4 years now) and I needed this. Thank you. Been sober for almost a week. Pray for me y’all.
Keep it up! Have tools to handle stress and withdrawals (pain meds for headaches, teas/melatonin for insomnia, chill activities for venting/stress, etc). There are also helpful reddit communities r/leaves that you can read on harder days. Weed is something I got immediate deliverance from once I became a Christian, almost two years ago. I used to smoke daily in order to cope with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, etc. (which weed ultimately, made worse). I personally think if you have to habitually use something that alters your mind, there is something deeper behind it ...You’re seeking satisfaction, peace, validity, acceptance, etc. from something other than God Himself.
Maybe, but do any of those things justify putting people who choose to smoke weed in jail for it? It's technically their body and ultimately their choice.
but what if you aren't seeking those things, because you already get it from God? For me, it's no different than taking an advil, only it's enjoyable and relaxing. It comes down to perception, because the bible doesn't say not to smoke weed and I don't believe the studies that say how bad it is. Gray areas, however, God will deliver us. The gray areas will be filled in and we will walk the correct path with Yahusha Ha'Mashiac (Jesus Christ).

I'll be praying for you!! Believe and trust God can brake any strong holds. I was addicted to weed. And tried many of times to quit on my own. But it wasn't until I fell to my knees and prayed to God to save me from this bondage. And that he did. The enemy will try and come for you. I feel yall!! Theres been times when I smoked and read the bible after and while I was smoking. Theres times when I've watched Allen's videos at the same time I smoked. I was a heavy smoker but have gradually been decreasing my habit for last few months. I like smoking in my quiet time but I dont need weed to sustain me on a daily basis. That's how I was using it in the past.
@Jake-vc1ry well I don't see Allah doing anything about it either... but thats the thing, God does his work when you die. The physical world can hurt you, but it can never spiritually kill you. That little girl probably didn't experience a second death or a bad judgement, but best believe that the person who carried it out already got their punishment dished out in the physical world, if he's still here, then he has the spiritual judgment to go through which may deny his eternal life. God works in mysterious ways.
I smoked weed from the age of 17-37. I smoked because I strongly felt it was medicine to help me with ptsd. God delivered me from it a yr and half ago. I feel so free!! Weed never made me feel the way Jesus does. The same day he delivered me from my addiction he also healed my ptsd. He truly is everything we need. I am beyond words grateful 🙌🎚️

I smoked weed for almost 10 years and thought I was still a “Christian” let me tell you one day I prayed and asked God to show me if it’s bad. I started having panic attacks. So I stopped after stopping I began having more and more attacks and even voices in my head. The demons started fighting me. I cried and really gave my life to Christ and eventually got better in time. But let me tell you one thing smoking weed is for people who miss something in their life and also you open portals for demons trust me. It also makes you more vulnerable for false teachings and new age crap because i experienced some crazy supernatural stuff in my weed days. There are people who say smoking once in a while isn’t bad etc, those people don’t have Jesus in their life. You wanna get high? Get high on the love of God that’s a eternal feeling. end psychoactive is a term that was coined during the reefer madness days to scare people. If you have in fact consumed cannabis then you would know that it relaxes the mind and body. If you are tripping or seeing or hearing things then what you have consumed was not cannabis. It's also not addictive as I've seen others say on here. It's not. There are zero withdrawal symptoms from cannabis. If you think you are addicted then you are a person with an addictive mindset and again I say to you that we were created with the endocannabinoid system in our bodies and it wasn't built for just CBD because in order for CBD oil to be truly effective you need a full spectrum oil which means all the cannabinoids in the cannabis plant present. Please do some research. God created this for a reason and millions of folks benefit from it every day from physical ailments to PTSD!

Heroin is highly addictive and lethal even in small doses. Whereas cannabis isnt lethal at all. Not one death and overdose is medically impossible because the vital functions for the body are controlled in the brain stem and there arent any cannabinoid receptors on the brain stem.

I’ve only been clean from marijuana for a few days now and when I smell it or see someone else high I kind of tend to get jealous not gonna lie 🤦🏽♂️ but god can help u overcome anything 🕊💯
Praying for you however I will say that consuming weed responsibility (meaning using it as sleep aid, a stress reliever, a mild social lubricant, etc.) is not a problem. It’s only a problem if it makes you not sober or is getting in the way of the rest of your life. You should look into CBD tho, it’s great for sleep, inflammation, and relaxation while not getting u high AT ALL. If cannabis is a problem for u definitely stay away from it but the plant has its uses so lets not try to demonize it ( not saying u were demonizing it, I’m just reminding everyone lol) GOD BLESS YALL
I mean, he pretty much covered things like cigarettes when he said if there was anything in your life that you have trouble quitting for a while or at all. Whether it's weed, alcohol, porn, cigarettes, social media (which is a big one for me), and so on. If it is something you have trouble not doing, then it's an addiction.

I used to be a pot head myself. Here's why I don't smoke anymore. The difference with alcohol is Christians who are ok with it aren't drinking necessarily for the effects or getting effed up. It can be a regular part of the diet and be ok when not consumed in excess. Marajuna on the other hand is really only used when altering the state of mind. I used to enjoy smoking because it gave me new insights on things and gave me a new perspective. However I would rather my epiphanies and revelations come from God, prayer, meditating on the word, and revelation of the holy spirit. Now that I don't smoke, I look back and see the harm it does have on the spiritual life. You think you gain wisdom but really it's usually pretty stupid. You just think it's a good idea cause you're stoned. Also you get lazy and it gets harder to function in general. It's expensive habit when you include pipes and snacks and the weed itself. And usually you get tired a lot more easily. Weed hangovers are a thing, I don't care what anyone tells me. If you're looking for biblical places to go 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (It's easier to fall for heresies and apostasy when your mind is altered) Ephesians 5:18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit (God is a much better source of inspiration than intoxication) Hope this helps! I was alert and exerted self control when I was smoking weed but Yahweh told me to quit because He has more for me instead. He doesn’t want me looking all high while trying to witness to others. Plus I love Yahweh more than I love weed💜
I used to be hooked on marijuana, alcohol, crack, & tobacco. Now I'm 63 days clean & sober. I no longer have the desire to be high off of drugs. Now I only want to have the "Holy Spirit high."

I agree, if I saw the pastor, music leader, or especially the youth minister smoking a cigarette, I'd be disappointed in him or her, even the Bible doesn't mention smoking a sin. I am not slamming Christians who smoke, I have some friends who do, but the church leaders need to set an example or teenagers are gonna think it's cool too.

My doctor prescribed me medical weed for joint pain.. changed my life. I don't go around smoking all day. Literally just before I go to bed I can sleep now because I'm not moaning in pain and destroying my liver with pain meds
I am a war veteran and it helps with my arthritis and PTSD. I don't get out of control at all but I act the exact same as I do when I don't smoke. I don't want to be on oxycodone or any of the VA's pills because they destroy people. I'm 100 percent retired and was almost paralyzed and I have metal plates in my neck.
I smoke weed for my depression, however, I haven't lit up for about 4 or 5 months so I know I'm not addicted. I also noticed that when I read the bible or watch videos on the subject I get a "high" feeling that's even stronger than weed has ever given me. Especially when I imagine what life during the Millenial Reign , Heaven and the New Earth will be like. As well as what our glorified bodies will be like and the powers that we will have.
It's great that you haven't smoked it in months, especially for depression. Many studies out of Amsterdam and S. Africa show that it causes chronic depression and psychosis. Not good for depression, usually.

I’m 6 months clean and that’s a miracle for me because I realized I love Jesus Christ more than I love Smoking. My mental health hit an all time low and that’s when Jesus came to save me...I’m truly grateful.
Another reason I stopped smoking weed was, because I felt my mind was clouded and I couldn't hear GOD, with my head full of smoke how am I to hear GOD speak to me with my head full of smoke, I want to hear GOD, smoke free.

I wasted 10 years of my life smoking dope, eating pills, and putting white powder up my nose. I tried to stop but just couldn't for very long. It wasn't until I repented and asked Jesus to take it away that I was able to stop. He took away that thing - addiction - and it's been almost 40 years since quitting. I live in Washington where pot is legal, but I have no desire or interest to go back to it. I think the basic principle is that God doesn't want us living in altered states of consciousness.

@Hezekiah Crocker Christian is just a name. But when a person is a true child of the Most High the Holy Spirit leads them to the right part. I use to smoke weed and all it does is alter your mind just mellow you out and you feel real good but then it wear off until you get your next fix. But then when we accept the Almighty FATHER with our heart and mind we get the Holy Spirit and then we’re on a natural High and we don’t have to go buy weed to get our next fix we stay high on our Savior.

Dude!!! This was so well done. You didn't exactly give a definitive answer, but you definitely answered the question in the best way. Basically, unless you live in a legal state and have a real medical reason for Marijuana then the answer is no. That being said, however, you don't need to get high to enjoy the benefits that weed can give. So should we get high? NO! As a Christian who smoked weed, I'm thankful for this. Because I struggled with this, I didn't want to stop smoking. But this helped me finally make that leap. Thank you!
For me, I find myself yearning for it, whether I want to admit to myself or not. I have idolized it and needed it before I needed His Spirit. LORD give me the strength to overcome this challenge. Test me and use me as your vessel, O’ God Almighty!
This timing is amazing. I have been smoking weed since I was about 14 (I am 19 now), and for the past 2 years I could feel God telling me to stop smoking weed (I always felt an insane amount of guilt after coming down). Soon after I didn't really like smoking anymore but it became such a habit, it was very hard to break. Up until last night. My idiot self decides to rip a bong (my tolerance was pretty high, so one bowl got me at a good high where I could still function and do my everyday things and no one would know I was high) and the bowl I packed was kind of smaller than what I would usually take (my aim was to be more sober than high because your girl had lots of homework to do). After I took the hit, I instantly felt high and instantly regretted it. Fast forward to about 10 minutes later, I was in and out of reality, I could not tell what was real and what was fake, I was forgetting who I was, where I was, I lost track of time (it felt like days had passed), I then started to have a panic attack, couldn't control my breathing, and I called my brother telling him that I was dying. I cannot explain it but I genuinely felt like it was the absolute end for me and I was scared for my life. It's like I was constantly leaving my body. My brother finally came in my room to try and calm me down but I couldn't tell if he was really there or not because again, everything looked fake, I was questioning everything. During the peak of this lesson, I got on my knees and I just kept repeating "This is God telling me to stop" and "This is my testimony" and I finally understood what was going on. I literally set myself up for this but I'm grateful God made me go through this. This experience has traumatized me enough to completely cut out weed in MINUTES (felt like days). Also, the weed was not laced, which is confirmation that this really was God. All the times I decided to smoke some weed, were times where I could have talked with God. It's sad that he had to get me to go through this for me to fully repent, but hey it worked, and I love God WAY more than I liked weed, and that makes me a winner (:

Amen brother hallelujah you know I felt convicted by what a pastor had said in my church and Rainier Oregon about 2 years ago I was living in sin I was sitting there smoking weed I want to stop I felt really convicted by what this pastor had said had a lot of people will smoke weed to get away from their problems and they don't run straight to the Lord and it's really hard when you have friends who influence you.. the devil has a way of keeping people like that in your life because he knows your past and he tries to use it against you..
The Bible does not mention marijuana. As bible teachers we must be specific when God is specific, and less specific where God is less specific. With that said, God tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31 "Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the Glory of God." There are multiple ways to consume weed for several motives. The question that Christian's must ask themselves is: WILL THIS ACTION BRING GOD GLORY, OR MYSELF SATISFACTION. God has designed us to experience pleasure, but it may be that God desires us to sacrifice pleasure or comfort. Christ did all of that and more when He died on the cross for our sins. It would not be unreasonable to give up something that brings us joy for His Glory. Thank you for being a light Allen, love your content and delivery!

Why Christians are LOOKING for reasons for the enemy to work through they life??? When we are reading God's Words and looking to be filled with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit will give us discernment/conviction right from wrong.

I smoked plenty in my life but ultimately I had to ask myself "Is it drawing me near to God or pulling me away?" Once I truly answered this question I stopped and began a new chapter with the Lord

I am so thankful for medical marijuana! I was on a narcotic pain medication for over a year and I felt like it was so hard to focus and think straight while I was taking it. When I use medical marijuana for pain now I am able to be out if pain and have control of my mind still. Be that said, I am asking God for healing for my body so that I no longer need to be taking any medications.

I used to every day before I was saved by Jesus. At one point and from then on I experienced some crazy spiritual visions, hallucinations, dreams, I was tormented every time I smoked and the enemy used that time that I was high to infiltrate my mind and implant ideas that affected my normal life and behavior. After I got saved I tried it again to see if it was fine and if i could do it and honor the Lord. You can’t. We should not be getting high or drunk. The only way marijuana should be consumed is medicinally prescribed by a profesional medical doctor and even then I would say not to smoke it but to take it in an edible form or as an oil. The Holy Spirit convicted me when I tried it again and the enemy was waiting for me to slip up to attack my mind again. It’s hard to recover, the enemy is nothing to play with. As a Christian to another please convince your sister needs to quit and pray for her that God may deliver her from it and do it without stopping until the day she finally quits. My families unwavering unending prayers are the reason I am now saved. Prayers are powerful. If your sister truly loves God she would know the word and obey it because by obeying it you obey Jesus and that is how God knows you love him. Reading the Bible is getting to know Jesus “And the WORD became flesh”. The Bible commands us to remain sober so why always seek to be high? If we willingly disobey the word of God then what are we? Luke 6:46 ESV “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? John 3:36 ESV Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. She also needs to see who is wanting to smoke weed. If the entire world is after it, clearly is Christians need to move away from it. Matthew 7:13-14 ESV “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. Lastly, I will share scripture about faith and works. Believing in Jesus alone is worthless. After all how many people believed and Jesus said they would not enter the Kingdom but would be cast out? “On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.” James 2:14-26 ESV So if she is a believer she needs to know she must obey the word of God and remain sober, she must not follow the world, and she must back up her faith action and that action can simply be obedience to God. Her salvation rests on that. This is serious and I hope your sister wakes up and realizes the truth because when I came across these verses I was scared straight and it did me good to refrain from those things. God bless you.

“Is this beneficial to me?” section is a bit misleading. If you are going to rule out weed on the basis of it being damaging to your health, then u would need to rule out almost everything in a modern diet. From soda to even meat, almost everything we consume today does damage to us physically. The other reason this is misleading is that he is using extreme examples of what could happen over long term/ heavy use. But you could do that with anything. He also doesn’t consider the benefits it can have. Long term pain sufferers, anxiety prone individuals (weed impacts people differently. Some get paranoid, but many get relaxed), can find great benefits from marijuana. I dont smoke weed. Its a personal choice that was probably influenced by the stigma surrounding it. But it has no appeal to me. But i am also a chronic pain sufferer after surviving a horrific car crash. In the past ive had to take painkillers because the pain was so awful id pass out. Taking those kind of meds saved my life. But those meds also would do physical damage over time. Maybe a better way to frame this topic in the future is asking your viewers to ask themselves on an individual level if it has any benefits to them. If they dont have a serious medical issue and are just using it for fun, then its bad. But i still think you could make that argument for everything (playing video games all day, drinking alcohol, eating fast food or sugars).
One thing for me, I have trouble being lazy in my personal life when I'm sober. If I smoke some weed, I get off my butt and am productive and sober minded as well. I can focus at tasks and hobbies. But I can't smoke much anymore, I need to keep my job.

I quit almost 2 years ago, haven’t used it once since. If you’re struggling with quoting you can do it. Quitting won’t be easy but what lies at the end of the road is worth every struggle.
Yeah, I struggled back and forth with quitting weed. When I started growing closer to the Lord, I noticed when I would smoke weed, my thoughts were loud. Anxiety started building immensely. It was a sign of schizophrenia. It would become spiritual warfare immediately. That showed me I opened a door. Before coming closer to God, I never have those types of experiences. I would be slumped, hungry, mellow, want to listen to music all day, and acted slower. It's crazy how your spiritual senses get more robust, and you can see what the eyes don't see. I have nothing against weed because I understand it helps in the medical aspect.

You can do it. I did it and it wasn't a complete detox. I still have sugar but not at the rate I had it before. Day 3 was the hardest. Watch Dr. Eric Berg if you need more information. He has quick videos on sugar. It also depends on how sugar free you want to be. God Bless.

Amen! I use it for a chronic disease and I thank God for it every day. The prescription medicine was making me crazy it seems, now my life is normal and I'm in my right mind. The pills had me super high. Cannabis does not .

However just remember that if your sickness responds to cbd instead of thc, cbd is the opposite and is most useful when smoked or vaped. I genuinely have a question: How is this different from taking psychiatric medications? In the sense of being (sober-minded) I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder back in 2018 and tried every medication I mean SSRI, antipsychotics, Injections, mood stabilizers, antidepressants, and nothing helped if anything it lead me astray from God. It was actually a couple of months ago when I started smoking that I found my way towards God. I am still praying and confused on this matter because at the moment it's the only thing that helps my pain, anxiety and migraines unless I started taking benzos and that's highly addictive. I would appreciate some words of guidance from anyone. I don't really have anyone to talk to about this subject matter. God bless
Me too , when I’m using cannabis it feels like I can really just focus on God and be away from those emotions that lead me away from time to time , still confused as well but I pray we both figure this out and so does anyone else that needs it
I urge you, whenever you’re reading this, not to stop your meds. You can ask your psychiatrist to adjust meds and to take away benzos if you want to use cannabis. And I agree with you. It’s quite ironic that many of us are prescribed meds that are addictive and to society, that’s ok. And of course you’re going to feel confused. But I urge you to discuss it with your doctor. Many strains of cannabis can actually make you worse. I have gone through it. Not nice. Also, pray. The Lord listens and answers. I feel ok using it but as soon as I think about using just to chill, I am convicted. I wrote a comment explaining my situation and maybe it will help.
I see it as simply medicine, it’s a herb and God mentions it in Genesis 1:29 it’s a seasoning. Finally! I’ve been asking myself this question all the time. After I got baptized I wanted to stop smoking marijuana and I feel like something was telling me to stop. Maybe it was the Holy Spirit telling me.
Everybody is already a dope individual without getting high. I think it distracts us from where we realistically physically and mentally supposed to be at that very moment of not doing what you supposed to. When I smoke I can help but to think about how the spirit world is real, and how he saved me from living worldly, open up my eyes to alot of things, and me going back to my old ways is like denying him. i used to smoke weed for about 7 years, heavy smoking too, sometimes before work, before most activities. i was a stoner. alot of this was during my walk with god, i am now 1 year clean though. ill tell you from experience i have permanently damaged my longterm memory, and just my memory in general. i used to smoke to forget and zone out that was the main thing and to be honest i still think it would be nice to smoke, but God has freed me, and lately " not returning to what god has freed you from " stuck to me. kinda like how a dog returns to its vomit (somrwhere in bible) also stay sober vigilent the devil your adversary walketh about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. i know this 1 memorised and it has helped me so much.

Yaaass I've been convicted to stay off youtube for the past 2 wks or so, even though I was watching Christian themed videos and sermons, the Holy Spirit told me to put it down and listen for God to talk to me because it was too loud when I couldn't hear God
I smoked for 23 years and prayed to god to help me quit and after prayer prayer prayer I have zero urge and I put it don’t cause I turned to it everytime I was stressed or life was difficult or to just do it cause I liked it. You are so right on this topic and this is speaking from a true pothead since the 7th grade. Every video and teaching you put out is absolutely phenomenal. I needed to hear this. You helped me so much today. God is so real and has answered so many prayers. Please keep teaching everybody what god has taught you. I hope one day I can reach as many people as you to do.
I was high when I got saved, and I stayed high for ten years. At first it wasn't an issue, but as the years went on, the Holy Spirit made it clear that smoking weed was not a lifestyle He wanted me to pursue. Life has been much, much better since giving it up.

I'm 25 years old i started smoking weed from age 13 till 22 I began smoking to cope with my mother being admitted into the hospital, and Grandfather, and my brother passingng away all in the same year. It was a really dark time in my life. Weed became my idol and I was addicted I even ventured off into sipping lean but by the grace and strength of God I gave up smoking weed and sipping lean 4 years ago.

Keep it up! Have tools to handle stress and withdrawals (pain meds for headaches, teas/melatonin for insomnia, chill activities for venting/stress, etc). There are also helpful reddit communities r/leaves that you can read on harder days.

Weed is something I got immediate deliverance from once I became a Christian, almost two years ago. I used to smoke daily in order to cope with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, etc. (which weed ultimately, made worse). I personally think if you have to habitually use something that alters your mind, there is something deeper behind it ...You’re seeking satisfaction, peace, validity, acceptance, etc. from something other than God Himself.
Maybe, but do any of those things justify putting people who choose to smoke weed in jail for it? It's technically their body and ultimately their choice.
but what if you aren't seeking those things, because you already get it from God? For me, it's no different than taking an advil, only it's enjoyable and relaxing. It comes down to perception, because the bible doesn't say not to smoke weed and I don't believe the studies that say how bad it is. Gray areas, however, God will deliver us. The gray areas will be filled in and we will walk the correct path with Yahusha Ha'Mashiac (Jesus Christ).

I feel yall!! Theres been times when I smoked and read the bible after and while I was smoking. Theres times when I've watched Allen's videos at the same time I smoked. I was a heavy smoker but have gradually been decreasing my habit for last few months. I like smoking in my quiet time but I dont need weed to sustain me on a daily basis. That's how I was using it in the past.

That little girl probably didn't experience a second death or a bad judgement, but best believe that the person who carried it out already got their punishment dished out in the physical world, if he's still here, then he has the spiritual judgment to go through which may deny his eternal life. God delivered me from it a yr and half ago. I feel so free!! Weed never made me feel the way Jesus does. The same day he delivered me from my addiction he also healed my ptsd. He truly is everything we need. I am beyond words grateful 🙌🎚️

I smoked weed for almost 10 years and thought I was still a “Christian” let me tell you one day I prayed and asked God to show me if it’s bad. I started having panic attacks. So I stopped after stopping I began having more and more attacks and even voices in my head. The demons started fighting me. I cried and really gave my life to Christ and eventually got better in time. But let me tell you one thing smoking weed is for people who miss something in their life and also you open portals for demons trust me. It also makes you more vulnerable for false teachings and new age crap because i experienced some crazy supernatural stuff in my weed days.

end psychoactive is a term that was coined during the reefer madness days to scare people. If you have in fact consumed cannabis then you would know that it relaxes the mind and body. If you are tripping or seeing or hearing things then what you have consumed was not cannabis. It's also not addictive as I've seen others say on here. It's not. There are zero withdrawal symptoms from cannabis. If you think you are addicted then you are a person with an addictive mindset and again I say to you that we were created with the endocannabinoid system in our bodies and it wasn't built for just CBD because in order for CBD oil to be truly effective you need a full spectrum oil which means all the cannabinoids in the cannabis plant present. Please do some research. God created this for a reason and millions of folks benefit from it every day from physical ailments to PTSD!

Heroin is highly addictive and lethal even in small doses. Whereas cannabis isnt lethal at all. Not one death and overdose is medically impossible because the vital functions for the body are controlled in the brain stem and there arent any cannabinoid receptors on the brain stem.

Praying for you however I will say that consuming weed responsibility (meaning using it as sleep aid, a stress reliever, a mild social lubricant, etc.) is not a problem. It’s only a problem if it makes you not sober or is getting in the way of the rest of your life. You should look into CBD tho, it’s great for sleep, inflammation, and relaxation while not getting u high AT ALL. If cannabis is a problem for u definitely stay away from it but the plant has its uses so lets not try to demonize it ( not saying u were demonizing it, I’m just reminding everyone lol) GOD BLESS YALL

Obviously anything that masters you is an addiction. Being that cigarettes contain nicotine. That tells you it’s capable of being an addictive vice.

I used to be a pot head myself. Here's why I don't smoke anymore.
The difference with alcohol is Christians who are ok with it aren't drinking necessarily for the effects or getting effed up. It can be a regular part of the diet and be ok when not consumed in excess.
Marajuna on the other hand is really only used when altering the state of mind. I used to enjoy smoking because it gave me new insights on things and gave me a new perspective. However I would rather my epiphanies and revelations come from God, prayer, meditating on the word, and revelation of the holy spirit.
Now that I don't smoke, I look back and see the harm it does have on the spiritual life. You think you gain wisdom but really it's usually pretty stupid. You just think it's a good idea cause you're stoned. Also you get lazy and it gets harder to function in general. It's expensive habit when you include pipes and snacks and the weed itself. And usually you get tired a lot more easily. Weed hangovers are a thing, I don't care what anyone tells me.

@DJ Well Jesus IS God so you are not exactly putting him in front of God. And the Bible is a book we read to get a better relationship with God. If you somehow manage to rely on the Bible for comfort instead of God, you could then argue that it is an idol.

I was alert and exerted self control when I was smoking weed but Yahweh told me to quit because He has more for me instead. He doesn’t want me looking all high while trying to witness to others. Plus I love Yahweh more than I love weed💜
I used to be hooked on marijuana, alcohol, crack, & tobacco. Now I'm 63 days clean & sober. I no longer have the desire to be high off of drugs. Now I only want to have the "Holy Spirit high."
The same applies to smoking cigarettes. The Bible doesn't specifically mention it but the same principles apply. This has helped me a lot! Thank you Sir!
I agree, if I saw the pastor, music leader, or especially the youth minister smoking a cigarette, I'd be disappointed in him or her, even the Bible doesn't mention smoking a sin. I am not slamming Christians who smoke, I have some friends who do, but the church leaders need to set an example or teenagers are gonna think it's cool too.

My doctor prescribed me medical weed for joint pain.. changed my life. I don't go around smoking all day. Literally just before I go to bed I can sleep now because I'm not moaning in pain and destroying my liver with pain meds
I am a war veteran and it helps with my arthritis and PTSD. I don't get out of control at all but I act the exact same as I do when I don't smoke. I don't want to be on oxycodone or any of the VA's pills because they destroy people. I'm 100 percent retired and was almost paralyzed and I have metal plates in my neck.
I smoke weed for my depression, however, I haven't lit up for about 4 or 5 months so I know I'm not addicted.
I also noticed that when I read the bible or watch videos on the subject I get a "high" feeling that's even stronger than weed has ever given me. Especially when I imagine what life during the Millenial Reign , Heaven and the New Earth will be like. As well as what our glorified bodies will be like and the powers that we will have.
God is delivering you thru the Word. We should use any substance that alters our mind. We don't need to give a place to the devil creep in and devour

It's great that you haven't smoked it in months, especially for depression. Many studies out of Amsterdam and S. Africa show that it causes chronic depression and psychosis. Not good for depression, usually.

I wasted 10 years of my life smoking dope, eating pills, and putting white powder up my nose. I tried to stop but just couldn't for very long. It wasn't until I repented and asked Jesus to take it away that I was able to stop. He took away that thing - addiction - and it's been almost 40 years since quitting. I live in Washington where pot is legal, but I have no desire or interest to go back to it.
I think the basic principle is that God doesn't want us living in altered states of consciousness.
As christians we should avoid mind altering drugs. The cons out weigh the pros in this case.

@Hezekiah Crocker Christian is just a name. But when a person is a true child of the Most High the Holy Spirit leads them to the right part. I use to smoke weed and all it does is alter your mind just mellow you out and you feel real good but then it wear off until you get your next fix. But then when we accept the Almighty FATHER with our heart and mind we get the Holy Spirit and then we’re on a natural High and we don’t have to go buy weed to get our next fix we stay high on our Savior.

Dude!!! This was so well done. You didn't exactly give a definitive answer, but you definitely answered the question in the best way. Basically, unless you live in a legal state and have a real medical reason for Marijuana then the answer is no. That being said, however, you don't need to get high to enjoy the benefits that weed can give. So should we get high? NO! As a Christian who smoked weed, I'm thankful for this. Because I struggled with this, I didn't want to stop smoking. But this helped me finally make that leap. Thank you!

This timing is amazing. I have been smoking weed since I was about 14 (I am 19 now), and for the past 2 years I could feel God telling me to stop smoking weed (I always felt an insane amount of guilt after coming down). Soon after I didn't really like smoking anymore but it became such a habit, it was very hard to break. Up until last night. My idiot self decides to rip a bong (my tolerance was pretty high, so one bowl got me at a good high where I could still function and do my everyday things and no one would know I was high) and the bowl I packed was kind of smaller than what I would usually take (my aim was to be more sober than high because your girl had lots of homework to do). After I took the hit, I instantly felt high and instantly regretted it. Fast forward to about 10 minutes later, I was in and out of reality, I could not tell what was real and what was fake, I was forgetting who I was, where I was, I lost track of time (it felt like days had passed), I then started to have a panic attack, couldn't control my breathing, and I called my brother telling him that I was dying. I cannot explain it but I genuinely felt like it was the absolute end for me and I was scared for my life. It's like I was constantly leaving my body. My brother finally came in my room to try and calm me down but I couldn't tell if he was really there or not because again, everything looked fake, I was questioning everything. During the peak of this lesson, I got on my knees and I just kept repeating "This is God telling me to stop" and "This is my testimony" and I finally understood what was going on. I literally set myself up for this but I'm grateful God made me go through this. This experience has traumatized me enough to completely cut out weed in MINUTES (felt like days). Also, the weed was not laced, which is confirmation that this really was God. All the times I decided to smoke some weed, were times where I could have talked with God. It's sad that he had to get me to go through this for me to fully repent, but hey it worked, and I love God WAY more than I liked weed, and that makes me a winner (:

Amen brother hallelujah you know I felt convicted by what a pastor had said in my church and Rainier Oregon about 2 years ago I was living in sin I was sitting there smoking weed I want to stop I felt really convicted by what this pastor had said had a lot of people will smoke weed to get away from their problems and they don't run straight to the Lord and it's really hard when you have friends who influence you.. the devil has a way of keeping people like that in your life because he knows your past and he tries to use it against you..
The Bible does not mention marijuana. As bible teachers we must be specific when God is specific, and less specific where God is less specific.
With that said, God tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31 "Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the Glory of God."
There are multiple ways to consume weed for several motives. The question that Christian's must ask themselves is: WILL THIS ACTION BRING GOD GLORY, OR MYSELF SATISFACTION.
God has designed us to experience pleasure, but it may be that God desires us to sacrifice pleasure or comfort. Christ did all of that and more when He died on the cross for our sins. It would not be unreasonable to give up something that brings us joy for His Glory. Thank you for being a light Allen, love your content and delivery!

Why Christians are LOOKING for reasons for the enemy to work through they life??? When we are reading God's Words and looking to be filled with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit will give us discernment/conviction right from wrong.
Like when Satan tempted Adam and Eve in the garden and Eve said to Satan God say that we can eat all the fruit from the garden except this one or we will Shirley die and Satan reply you won't Shirley die but you will be the same as God knowing good and evil. Also says in the bible a lot are called but a few are choosing only thing we can do is pray for there repentance.

I smoked plenty in my life but ultimately I had to ask myself "Is it drawing me near to God or pulling me away?" Once I truly answered this question I stopped and began a new chapter with the Lord

I am so thankful for medical marijuana! I was on a narcotic pain medication for over a year and I felt like it was so hard to focus and think straight while I was taking it. When I use medical marijuana for pain now I am able to be out if pain and have control of my mind still. Be that said, I am asking God for healing for my body so that I no longer need to be taking any medications.

I used to every day before I was saved by Jesus. At one point and from then on I experienced some crazy spiritual visions, hallucinations, dreams, I was tormented every time I smoked and the enemy used that time that I was high to infiltrate my mind and implant ideas that affected my normal life and behavior. After I got saved I tried it again to see if it was fine and if i could do it and honor the Lord. You can’t. We should not be getting high or drunk. The only way marijuana should be consumed is medicinally prescribed by a profesional medical doctor and even then I would say not to smoke it but to take it in an edible form or as an oil. The Holy Spirit convicted me when I tried it again and the enemy was waiting for me to slip up to attack my mind again. It’s hard to recover, the enemy is nothing to play with. As a Christian to another please convince your sister needs to quit and pray for her that God may deliver her from it and do it without stopping until the day she finally quits. My families unwavering unending prayers are the reason I am now saved. Prayers are powerful. If your sister truly loves God she would know the word and obey it because by obeying it you obey Jesus and that is how God knows you love him. Reading the Bible is getting to know Jesus “And the WORD became flesh”.
The Bible commands us to remain sober so why always seek to be high? If we willingly disobey the word of God then what are we?

She also needs to see who is wanting to smoke weed. If the entire world is after it, clearly is Christians need to move away from it.

Lastly, I will share scripture about faith and works. Believing in Jesus alone is worthless. After all how many people believed and Jesus said they would not enter the Kingdom but would be cast out?
“On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'”

So now if they believed and did works but they were hypocrites, they bore bad fruit, they had no love, they didn’t obey the word then we know that faith alone is not enough and even if you do the works but your heart is not in the right place, if you were lukewarm, then the path to heaven is really really narrow.

Yes faith in Jesus saves, that faith is in the fact that our works by our own efforts don’t bring salvation; only by the grace of God through His son are we saved but that faith must be backed up by works to show we really do believe what we say we believe. Just as works without faith is useless, faith without works to back up the faith is useless. The works is not just good deeds, but the actions you decide to take that reflect your faith in your every day life no matter if no one is there to watch you, God sees all.
“What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe-and shudder! Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness"-and he was called a friend of God. So if she is a believer she needs to know she must obey the word of God and remain sober, she must not follow the world, and she must back up her faith action and that action can simply be obedience to God. Her salvation rests on that. This is serious and I hope your sister wakes up and realizes the truth because when I came across these verses I was scared straight and it did me good to refrain from those things. God bless you.

Jesus himself said those words. You can advise your sister against marijuana but don't claim the word.
It is my perspective, 'why' are some Christian's trying to creep into the enemy's camp altering their minds with marijuana. The 1 Peter tells us to be sober minded. We 'cannot' be tempted by the devil. Blessings

“Is this beneficial to me?” section is a bit misleading. If you are going to rule out weed on the basis of it being damaging to your health, then u would need to rule out almost everything in a modern diet. From soda to even meat, almost everything we consume today does damage to us physically.
The other reason this is misleading is that he is using extreme examples of what could happen over long term/ heavy use. But you could do that with anything.
He also doesn’t consider the benefits it can have. Long term pain sufferers, anxiety prone individuals (weed impacts people differently. Some get paranoid, but many get relaxed), can find great benefits from marijuana.
I dont smoke weed. Its a personal choice that was probably influenced by the stigma surrounding it. But it has no appeal to me.
But i am also a chronic pain sufferer after surviving a horrific car crash. In the past ive had to take painkillers because the pain was so awful id pass out.
Taking those kind of meds saved my life. But those meds also would do physical damage over time.
Maybe a better way to frame this topic in the future is asking your viewers to ask themselves on an individual level if it has any benefits to them. If they dont have a serious medical issue and are just using it for fun, then its bad.
But i still think you could make that argument for everything (playing video games all day, drinking alcohol, eating fast food or sugars).
A month and one week clean, praise the Lord.
One thing for me, I have trouble being lazy in my personal life when I'm sober. If I smoke some weed, I get off my butt and am productive and sober minded as well. I can focus at tasks and hobbies. But I can't smoke much anymore, I need to keep my job.

it helped me get on a workout regimen, help my journaling journey, and my business endeavors my anxiety is much better from it every once a month that I used it it’s such a gray area that’s not spelled out for us so it’s hard to know if it’s a yes or no….

I have been practicing abstinence for months and emotional control and now im contemplating quitting marijuana. Even tho I haven't yet...I know God is proud of my efforts which is enough to keep me seeking him more. Everyday now i want to be better.... More pleasant just more Like God. I quit almost 2 years ago, haven’t used it once since. If you’re struggling with quoting you can do it. Quitting won’t be easy but what lies at the end of the road is worth every struggle.

Yeah, I struggled back and forth with quitting weed. When I started growing closer to the Lord, I noticed when I would smoke weed, my thoughts were loud. Anxiety started building immensely. It was a sign of schizophrenia. It would become spiritual warfare immediately. That showed me I opened a door. Before coming closer to God, I never have those types of experiences. I would be slumped, hungry, mellow, want to listen to music all day, and acted slower. It's crazy how your spiritual senses get more robust, and you can see what the eyes don't see. I have nothing against weed because I understand it helps in the medical aspect.
I’ve been struggling but, this is the one! Every time I smoke it is immediate warfare & I have to rebuke almost all my thoughts.. praying for my deliverance. God bless 🙏🏾

Take out weed and put in refined sugar. Weed isn’t my issue. I have to deny my flesh the immediate satisfaction of sugar. Thank you for this discussion.
You can do it. I did it and it wasn't a complete detox. I still have sugar but not at the rate I had it before. Day 3 was the hardest. Watch Dr. Eric Berg if you need more information. He has quick videos on sugar. It also depends on how sugar free you want to be. God Bless.
Sugar is exponentially more addicting than heroin. Sort of scary, isn't it? God will help you, have faith and lean on His strength.
I smoke cigarettes and want to stop so bad, I was doing drugs using a needle and smoking seems to be more additive for me anyway so please pray for me cause I want to stop. Glory to God he delivered me from drugs.

@@LivingMyBestAlways I hear this alot and that is okay. In fact thc is more absorbed and utilized when consumed as a food or drink. However just remember that if your sickness responds to cbd instead of thc, cbd is the opposite and is most useful when smoked or vaped.

I genuinely have a question: How is this different from taking psychiatric medications? In the sense of being (sober-minded) I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder back in 2018 and tried every medication I mean SSRI, antipsychotics, Injections, mood stabilizers, antidepressants, and nothing helped if anything it lead me astray from God. It was actually a couple of months ago when I started smoking that I found my way towards God. I am still praying and confused on this matter because at the moment it's the only thing that helps my pain, anxiety and migraines unless I started taking benzos and that's highly addictive. I would appreciate some words of guidance from anyone. I don't really have anyone to talk to about this subject matter. God bless
Me too , when I’m using cannabis it feels like I can really just focus on God and be away from those emotions that lead me away from time to time , still confused as well but I pray we both figure this out and so does anyone else that needs it

I urge you, whenever you’re reading this, not to stop your meds. You can ask your psychiatrist to adjust meds and to take away benzos if you want to use cannabis. And I agree with you. It’s quite ironic that many of us are prescribed meds that are addictive and to society, that’s ok. And of course you’re going to feel confused. But I urge you to discuss it with your doctor. Many strains of cannabis can actually make you worse. I have gone through it. Not nice. Also, pray. The Lord listens and answers. I feel ok using it but as soon as I think about using just to chill, I am convicted. I wrote a comment explaining my situation and maybe it will help.

I see it as simply medicine, it’s a herb and God mentions it in Genesis 1:29 it’s a seasoning. Just like when you cook and it smoke’s up … we have been taught to think it’s bad plus this generation abuses it by consuming it daily, that’s like taking Tylenol everyday.

Everybody is already a dope individual without getting high. I think it distracts us from where we realistically physically and mentally supposed to be at that very moment of not doing what you supposed to. When I smoke I can help but to think about how the spirit world is real, and how he saved me from living worldly, open up my eyes to alot of things, and me going back to my old ways is like denying him. How can I be a messenger or an example to someone in that state.

It's true! I developed schizophrenia after getting myself involved with "medical" weed after only 9 months or so. Thank you God for your mercy on my life and delivering me from those demons!!!

Even when things were hard and the enemy told me I had an excuse to drink, I had to remember that when my feet hit the floor in the morning, it was going to be to glorify God. 23 years!! i used to smoke weed for about 7 years, heavy smoking too, sometimes before work, before most activities. i was a stoner. alot of this was during my walk with god, i am now 1 year clean though.
ill tell you from experience i have permanently damaged my longterm memory, and just my memory in general. i used to smoke to forget and zone out that was the main thing
and to be honest i still think it would be nice to smoke, but God has freed me, and lately " not returning to what god has freed you from " stuck to me. kinda like how a dog returns to its vomit (somrwhere in bible)
also stay sober vigilent the devil your adversary walketh about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. i know this 1 memorised and it has helped me so much.

It’s crazy because I’ve fasted from weed and meat/dairy for 40 days and 40 nights last year ( I’m just now seeing this video) I got excited to know I’m not addicted lol I’ve been telling myself I will NOT let this God giving herb control me. I make sure of that, ya mon!...Another thing is you are soooo right about turning to God for comfort or when we need an escape from reality. Healing period. (that’s why I’m currently watching your videos at 4am ). This is why I constantly put myself up for the challenge of fasting from weed and lastly I wanna say this. To Whom May be reading this. This doesn’t just apply to weed it applies to you alcohol drinkers too. like the good book said : we must stay sharp and sober minded. I know I can function just fine if not better when I’m under the influence because of the positive benefits of weed, at the end of the day weed , red-meat or liquor isn’t for everyone. Yaaass I've been convicted to stay off youtube for the past 2 wks or so, even though I was watching Christian themed videos and sermons, the Holy Spirit told me to put it down and listen for God to talk to me because it was too loud when I couldn't hear God

I smoked for 23 years and prayed to god to help me quit and after prayer prayer prayer I have zero urge and I put it don’t cause I turned to it everytime I was stressed or life was difficult or to just do it cause I liked it. You are so right on this topic and this is speaking from a true pothead since the 7th grade. Every video and teaching you put out is absolutely phenomenal. I needed to hear this. You helped me so much today. God is so real and has answered so many prayers. Please keep teaching everybody what god has taught you. I hope one day I can reach as many people as you to do.
