After being refilled with the holy ghost after 15 years of being backsid the first thing God did was convict me of smoking this garbage . He told me that I could not grow spiritually hanging onto sin. My wife and I have bought a house and are able to give more to the church with the money we have saved...
I'm the same way.. I love God.. and I smoked for years.. as I realized what the scriptures truly say and mean.. I see smoking is definitely sin.. and I can not be truly saved and continue in sin.. that's impossible.. if someone continue in sin, how are they saved.. God bless you..

I fell back into my old sin for many years.... which leads me to question wether I had truly received salvation.. I had many preacher's to tell me, I'm backslide but God doesn't take my salvation, I can never lose that.. well, I agree to a certain point.. yes the bible says once you been saved, God does not take that away, it's permanent.. but.. was I truly saved is the question.. because bible says a saved man does CAN NOT SIN, BECAUSE GOD IS IN HIM.. Bible doesn't say well hmm he might sin but. He is saved.. see if we kneel down and ask forgiveness, then God forgive us, everytime.. but, bible says drunk, liar, thief will not enter the kingdom of God, so those of us who continue in these things after being forgiven, do not have true salvation.. if we continue getting drunk or stealing or lying, then no we have not been saved from hell.. I believe the devil is really good at making people believe they been saved.. the ones who are truly saved, are those who have STOPPED WILLFULY SINNING.. even tho we all sinners, because our minds create sin by just its thoughts alone, so we repent daily.. but it's the WILLFULY done sin that we have to turn from.. we can't purposely go sin and continue getting drunk thinking God doesn't remove your salvation.. he don't, but ya don't got it anyway.. we gotta stop those things, when we do, God grants us true repentance.. What about consuming caffeine instead of getting enough sleep? What about overeating or eating when not hungry? What about consuming MGO food stuff that is not after it's kind?
Caffeine can cause a high and can be addictive. In fact it can make you more alert and help you make better safer decisions(especially when I’m working a 24hr shift) It doesn’t cloud your judgement, studies show it is safe to consume in low to moderate amounts. Some people have eating disorders and need to eat even if they don’t feel like it. Some people when working out and trying to gain muscle mass need to eat a calorie surplus to gain healthy muscle weight. Is it a sin to force myself to eat more food so I can be stronger even though I am not hungry and don’t want to? I have never heard anyone raise a religious argument against GMO foods before and I haven’t studied it but I would say that God gave dominion over the earth to man and we have used that dominion over plants to make them produce more food. We are no longer bound by the old testament dietary laws. The apostles decided that the gentiles only needed to abstain from eating blood, things strangled, and things offered to idols. I don’t think GMO foods fall into any of those categories.

Soft drinks and fast foods are something to be considered if people are continuing to consume it after it is either causing them harm or dominating them especially if they have other healthier options but refuse to choose them. It’s about the effects it has on your body. Alcohol is legal and you can buy it at any store. But it’s the effect it has on the body and the mind that is the problem.

@@NicoleCB I believe that at the current time alcohol was probably their only option for pain relief and sedation. It’s like a doctor sedating or medicating someone who is in pain today. You would think it would be cruel to operate on someone without proper anesthesia today. So when someone back then was in a lot of pain they could medicate them with strong drink. You could look at this scripture as saying to have mercy on those who are in pain and suffering. Don’t just let them lay their in pain but help them. The verses directly before it condemns alcohol consumption by kings and princes lest they forget the law and it cloud their judgment. When you drink you drink, it takes away your good judgment. To me every time I think or hear about the discussion of alcohol what comes to mind is Kings, Priest, Rulers, etc are told not to drink or partake of strong drink in Old Testament. You may ask well how does that relate to us now and my simple answer is scripture now calls all them that are born again a royal priesthood. So everyone that is born again now would be considered a priest therefore told not to partake in alcohol or strong drink. There's one preacher who said you can't have a beer because its a sin. I think hes wrong. Getting drunk is a sin. Also, the church talks all about the negatives of recreational drugs, but nobody talks about the rampant obesity that's happening in the UPCI church. We preach against recreational drugs but in turn they substitute it with binge eating which also destroys the temple of God.
Many of our medicines are modern inventions as well. People even in the days of the Bible had to use substances for pain. No condoning recreational use but to ignore actual medical use of natural substances, it seems God created things as medicine for us. The AMA did not want it banned, because small quantities in edible form can work as a mild sedative without intoxication. I use a 10mg THC/CBN gummy at bedtime. It causes mild drowsiness and helps me remain asleep. Large quantities and smoking anything is bad.

I have much respect for my brother Bernard he said the perfect thing; seek God… I would add, it’s about the intent from the heart why one would take these substances whether medical or otherwise. Only God knows this.. Scripture does say “Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts”. We must be led by the Spirt and always examine man’s teaching.
Given that scripture why would the church ban alcohol? This should be explained directly.

@@NicoleCB I believe that at the current time alcohol was probably their only option for pain relief and sedation. It’s like a doctor sedating or medicating someone who is in pain today. You would think it would be cruel to operate on someone without proper anesthesia today. So when someone back then was in a lot of pain they could medicate them with strong drink.
You could look at this scripture as saying to have mercy on those who are in pain and suffering. Don’t just let them lay their in pain but help them.
The verses directly before it condemns alcohol consumption by kings and princes lest they forget the law and it cloud their judgment. When you drink you drink, it takes away your good judgment. There are so many people who think they are sober enough to drive home after drinking. They break the law and due to that poor judgement thousands of people have died.

Hey God bless! To me every time I think or hear about the discussion of alcohol what comes to mind is Kings, Priest, Rulers, etc are told not to drink or partake of strong drink in Old Testament. You may ask well how does that relate to us now and my simple answer is scripture now calls all them that are born again a royal priesthood. So everyone that is born again now would be considered a priest therefore told not to partake in alcohol or strong drink. We are the temple of the Holy Ghost therefore always are in a position of ministry.

There's one preacher who said you can't have a beer because its a sin. I think hes wrong. Getting drunk is a sin. Smoking weed does open doors to demon so does everything else, like TV shows we watch. Listening to music, even when you eat too much food. We need to stop just focusing on weed. We need to look at everything else we do in life because life is spiritual.
When we have to jump through a bunch of hoops just to figure out if it's acceptable for a Christian to use, then the BEST practice is to avoid it and rely on God and His Word.

Why not find other natural and less controversial ways to alleviate pain that do not involve spiritual risks; is this really a chance that we should take spiritually? If God saw that this was going to be a problem from the start, then why would he allow it to grow and exist in this world that he made and has complete control over all that's created on this earth. Also, the church talks all about the negatives of recreational drugs, but nobody talks about the rampant obesity that's happening in the UPCI church. We preach against recreational drugs but in turn they substitute it with binge eating which also destroys the temple of God.

Many of our medicines are modern inventions as well. People even in the days of the Bible had to use substances for pain. It says in the Word of God not to judge another for in the same measure you judge another so also you shall be judged. It also says to not be as an hypocrite in not practicing what you preach. If you preach against recreational psychoactive drug use and addiction then why isn't caffeine mentioned which is both psychoactive, addictive, and harmful to the body both increasing blood pressure and the stress hormone cortisol?

My grandfather had severe epilepsy (grand mal seizures). He fell off a swing when he was a child. It was simply a brain injury. There was no demonic activity involved whatsoever. He died in his early fifties.

There are many fine spirit filled saints of God who suffer from heart disease, COPD, ect.
