I'm a Christian with tattoos but I got them before I was saved. I wouldn't get anymore because I don't see the purpose of a Christ follower desiring to get one.
Begin reading the Bible and see what the Lord has to say about you! For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11 is a good one to start with.
@@firstamendment2887 I thought christians were saved in their trust and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. So why then is that enough? Most Christians say believe and trust and put faith in Christ and you are saved...OH BUT you also have to change the way you live.
Hb mukbang hey. I’m really sorry to hear that, my condolences. You can be sure that you can see her again in the Kingdom for eternity. Chin up, we’re all here for you, as is God
@Narrow Path Where in the bible does it tell us to drive a car, learn new skills, and watch tv? Nowhere, but we still do those things.. There is grey area ya know! Do I sense legalism in you! Are we really rating something is unacceptable because of the popularity of it! That seems irrational to me. What if things that are truly sinful not popular, are we gonna start doing that too? Just about everything comes from an ungodly source but using it for Godly purposes is not evil..
@Narrow PathAnd how exactly on tattoo's self-centered, now your just imposing your subjective morality on random things.. Also I bought up the car example because you say tattoo's are worldly and should be avoided but what about cars since there also worldly as well should they be avoided?... What about the internet, music,exercising,.. The world uses these things, are they to be avoided too! Cars are not self-centered you say, but what if you use it to take a long week vacation from bible study, still ain't nothing wrong with that! Ya know I also bought up tv and learning new skills I see you didn't address those! I'm pretty much bothered by this response since you already accuse me of fitting in with the world.. which I do and matter of fact we all do.. Hip hop/christian hip hop Rock/ Christian rock Christian humor/worldly humor Christian website/ worldly website You say doing drugs is wrong from exactly what biblical basis, we not need to confuse should, with morality. In other words something isn't wrong just because you shouldn't do it or because the world does it. But as I illustrated above we copy the world in pretty much every aspect! You also say we don't need to be cool and fit in with the world but as I repeat what aspect of the world is unacceptable to you.. because now your just cherry picking on what christians should separate from and what they shouldn't without providing any biblical base on why should that be! Pretty much my last remark to your response is that what if a christian wants to get tattoo's with jesus symbols or bible verses. Ain't nothing wrong with that, If you say yes there is, then how do you reconcile that with christian rap, rock, website, and other christian emulations of something like that!

Dio not boat on yourself. You are taking away your riches you have been stuffing away for heaven. Now the right hand knows what the left is doing. We should keep our good deeds private not broadcast them to the world
The context may have been *pagan* practices, but do you think because we are not pagans, it is ok to practice the things they practiced (marks and cuts)? I don't think so. For some reason God pointed to those pagan practices instead of pointing to paganism itself, because those practices are not good. God has made men and women perfect and beautiful. Tattoos only destroy their beauty.
My brother wanted us to get a small one together but as a new believer I wanted to ask God first. Everytime I would pray on it or when it was mentioned it never felt right. I would remember the scriptures that I am His temple, to be cleansed and sanctified. I'm set apart from the world. My body is not my own, but belongs to Jesus. And I would never imagine Jesus going through painful stabs and wasting his blood to mark a body created in the image of the Father. So I obeyed the Spirit to treat my body like he would.
It's like you've sold your house to the new owner, and you decided to "graffiti" the outer walls because it would look pretty, WITHOUT the consent of the new owner.
One of the coolest things that happened to me as a Christian, in the first few years after my mom died, and I was alone most of the time, was when I went out for Christmas, to a mall that was still a busy, working shopping mall, then. I was feeling very sad and lonely, but was out there, looking for Jesus Christ in Christmas, you could say. I was hoping to hear a few Christmas carols, and as a testimony to the people I'd see, I had a pin I'd bought in a Christian bookstore. I had two, "Jesus Is the Reason for the Season", and this one, which was much better, and said much more, but for some reason, I can't remember what it said, just that it was a much more meaningful testimony. This was a mall my mom and I had gone to, because we enjoyed watching little kids talk to their "Santa". I would never tell my kids that Santa was real, but we both enjoyed watching the faces of the sweet kids, lined up for the experience. Later, when my mom was sick, I went there alone, and the mall had made it a completely "Lion King" Christmas, with no carols in the background, and with pagan and occult symbols, everywhere. A New Age couple had ridden up in the elevator with me, praising the symbols, and the fact that the mall was so _forward thinking,_ bringing about the _changes_ they all so desired. So there is a lot of sadness in a Christian Christmas, because we must contend with the strong rejection of Jesus's salvation, from the people who are marching forward into antichrist, in this sad apostasy. But a few years later, I rode the bus to this same mall, walked around, and then went over to the food court, to get a drink and a little something to eat, and to sit there, awhile, and watch the people. I would buy my drink in this one place, where drinks were cheaper, then buy this inexpensive hot food snack, down by the other end. I got my drink, then went to the food place and put in my order. I was feeling very low, and next to useless as a testimony, too. Then the young woman who had waited on me, spoke. "I love your pin", she said, and that was when I took a closer look at her. She was a teenager, up to as old as perhaps her early 20s, but clearly pretty young, and she had a completely "goth" appearance! Black clothes, dyed dark hair, extremely pale skin (makeup or not, I do not remember), and on the underside of her forearm, a small tattoo of a cross. But she was _a sister in Christ,_ although probably, a very new one, and one who felt encouraged in the faith by my pin. That was a big deal to me! We exchanged a few words about telling people about the Lord, testifying to Him through things like that, which she heartily agreed was the way to go. Why did I not exchange phone numbers with her, and keep in touch, and perhaps go to her church? It may have been that I knew I had to not share the burden of some trouble in my life with her, or that depression had me feeling completely inadequate as a Christian friend. But that's probably 20 years ago, yet I remember that as one of the treasures of my life. I was aware of the verses against cutting or marking one's skin. Those probably would be considered the ceremonial law, rather than the moral law, although the prohibition does have moral principles in it. It is what the pagans did, and they did it because they did not know God, but served gods who had them cutting themselves to curry their favors. Marking one's skin is probably permanent, and when we see people permanently marking their skin with pagan symbolism, it can't help but suggest the time when people will embrace permanently rejecting damnation over God's salvation in Christ, through taking the mark of the Beast. We see them acting more and more as if they'd be willing to mark themselves with that, and it is very sad and difficult to endure. So the willingness, to be permanently marked, has a very dark meaning for us. Sometimes, though, when antichrist is not at the forefront, at least, we cannot help but admire the fact that some of them are so committed to things they care deeply about that they are willing to declare them and make them a permanent part of their lives and message to the world.. That isn't wishy washy, and it has something to admire about it. "Conservative" Christians might criticize and dismiss her, both for her tattoo and her goth look, but they are involved in some scripturally, very questionable, even evil, things, but since their group doesn't judge those things by the Bible, they think they're just fine. This young, new Christian sister, was coming from her goth background, and by keeping her goth image, she was telling her goth friends about the meaning of that cross. I can imagine that the conservatives would have condemned her for _doing what was "popular",_ rather than making a clean break from her past, and coming over and embracing _their_ (all-too popular, and worldly) _conservatism_ as her new image and mindset. But keeping her goth look allowed her to say that, of her own personality, she was coming from where they were, but that the cross, tattooed on her arm, was not a conservative mindset, but the salvation of God. She wasn't saved by a conservative lifestyle, "image", or mindset, but by Jesus, and she wasn't going to allow anyone to confuse the two because of her. She knew her friends were morally confused, offended, even outraged, by the confusion of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the fleshly, dishonest conservative movement, and to testify of Jesus to them, she had to show that she could be herself, saved, and all of the difference it made in her life would be because of Jesus, not some decision to join the conservative lifestyle and be all about money. The conservative lifestylists could criticize her for doing "what is popular", not changing her image (to their own, as if that had any Christian meaning at all), but that meaningful, plain cross could, and probably did, earn her mostly hatred and contempt from the goths who were not yet saved. So she was walking a very fine line to testify of Christ's love and truth, one that legalism should not be allowed to make evil. I see the tattoo she had as a true gray area. Gray isn't the absence of black and white; it is made up of them. Along with the maybe bad side, of "you look like a pagan", and the fact that these marks were prohibited in the old covenant, there is the truly pure side, of wanting to testify of Jesus to her friends, and knowing that they did not trust the straight, conservative world.
I got my first tattoo when I was 34. I prayed for 4 years about it. I had just gone through 8 major surgeries in 10 years to try to have a baby and was still unable to. I got a cross with a crown of thorns and flowers around my ankle as a reminder that Jesus never left me and how He helped me through that difficult time in my life. My second one is the word forgiven with a flower and a butterfly which gives me a visual representation of how I am forgiven and free. I have also used them as a witnessing tool when people ask about them. I will never regret them....
You honer God with it! The bible says. Honer God with every part of your body. I def think This is a way to help people grow in faith or show Gods love
Excellent way to say it. I have tattoos, but there's something ringing true with the way you put it. If I valued my current physical vessel more (as one might a Ferrari) perhaps I'd never get one, but I do know this vessel is temporary.
I have a lot of tattoos most I got when I was under 21 now as I grow more with Jesus I no longer feel the need to get anymore. Also God looks at your heart more than your outside appearance
He absolutely looks at the heart. Had you known what know today you probably would not have them, right? We know that old testment talks about generation curses and that scripture is very must valid today. So we can't just disregard old testament scripture as it layered with principles that should be applied in our lives today.
Then you should feel free to wear low hanging tops and short skirts and forget the fact that the Bible says to dress modestly. After all, your heart is fixed on God, so you shouldn’t care if it makes men lust after you.

I honestly don’t see why I should get a tattoo, I’m not saying it’s sinful, it’s just one of those things that don’t feel right or wise to get as a Christian.
Im a bit late to this one but have some things I thought I could add to the conversation. -For those saying you cant see a reason for a Christian to want/justify getting a tattoo I think there are some things to consider. Tattoos are a personal decision. Maybe you dont have a reason to get one that you feel is valid, but that doesnt mean its that way for everyone. Personally as someone who is 4 years clean of self harm (to put it bluntly I would say this is blatantly idolizing emotions and desires instead of trusting God to bring healing) I used to draw on myself to cope, I still feel the need to have something with me visually to stop the urges. I do wear a cross necklace but sometimes the only thing that helps is to draw in the place that Im tempted to injure, so I would love a tattoo that reminds me of the day Jesus saved me so that my focus is shifted when I look at it. Its not about depending on the tattoo, but about depending on the One whom it reminds me of. - As for conversation starters? Sure wearing clothing that mentions Jesus can spark conversation. But specifically for people who dont believe in Jesus, but do love tattoos, to see a person with a tattoo is exciting and can open a whole new door to taking of personal struggles which can lead to sharing the gospel. Just like people can connect over sports and music, we can also connect over a love of tattoos. -The thing you see in the Bible is God constantly cares so much more about the heart behind the action! I could get a cross tattoo and still be wrong if my heart wasnt actually to honor the Lord. But then I could get a floral tattoo and be in the right because my heart wasnt set on the tattoo but it was set on honoring Jesus by loving people and telling them about Him! Don't get a tattoo if you feel it is wrong. Make sure you are honoring the Lord if you want to get one.
This is such an amazing and thoughtful comment. I really appreciate it. I struggled with self harm in the past and in the last couple weeks I’ve started to want a tattoo on the spot I’d usually start scratching that will remind me who Jesus is and who I am because of Him. And God is working a ton in my life right now. Believe it or not, I think the Spirit can lead people to different desires so follow what He’s telling you either way! I think a lot of people here are missing that
Bravo! I agree tattoos are just a minor things to be worried about. I got mine as a testament and a reminder of what God has brought me from and love being asked what they mean.

I have many tattoos that I got before I was saved. Some aren't christian at all (skulls and buddha) Since then I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, confessed my sins and prayed for forgiveness. I hope the lord will forgive me for having these tattoos
I agree with everything you said! I have three tattoos and one of them is a scripture Proverbs 18:24 with my best friends and none of my tattoos can been seen with my clothes on. I feel fine and happy about my tattoos and I've been saved for 5 years. The Lord is so good.
@@larrycarter2336 Yeah there about as “of the world” as the images we have of Jesus. And last I checked “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth” (Exodus 20:4). Do you agree?
I am not arguing with Parr while making this point but that is his understanding of what the Bible means when it talks about tattoos. While I am not saying he is wrong, other people can have different opinions. Don't just believe what people say, read it for yourself.
@@shemmy95 yes I've done so and I'm in agreement with Allen on this. My response was more so talking about people who have responded "leviticus is clear about tattoos being sinful" or that "getting tattoos are a worldly thing" or that "someone that gets a tattoo is sinning". My THIRD tattoo is on my forearm....its music notes....and reads "music is the voice of the soul."...i STRONGLY believe that tattoos are ok if your a christian...as long as its clean, nothing bad , rude, ect. I'm a drummer....and i only put things on me that has to do with my life. NOTE: its fine if you want to get tattood....but its what lies within....thats more important.
I have the words “forgiven” and “loved” one on either of my wrists. I got them for those moments when I need a physical reminder that I am “forgiven and loved” by Christ. I thought about it for 10 years before I got it. I got them when my relationship with God wasn’t that strong, but I knew that no matter what happens, these tattoos won’t break the work God has done in my life. I pray he’ll use them and my testimony for his glory.
Do you can’t open up the Bible read the hundreds of scriptures that would tell you the same thing? If a woman wore short shorts so people can see, “ John 3:16,” on her thighs, would that be glorifying God?
@@cathyleighlewis2712 thats good but your technically doing a sacrifice and god said he'd rather you no tattoos than to sacrifice your body to show his word I forgot the verse
I am a Christian without any tattoos. However, my father got several while single in the Navy. I believe it is alright for people to get tattoos, but for me I see it as a matter of Stewardship. I can't say what tattos cost know but a friend told me they spent $300 for a tattoo. I can do a lot for the church and for the Kingdom of God with that money.
As a believer that's thinking of getting one. It could start conversations that lead to sharing the Gospel with a lost soul and that could bring someone into the church with the Lord's help and that's worth more than all the money in the world. But I do agree with you it is a financial decision that needs thought and prayed through. Thank you for sharing your thought!
I was so scared to watch this video but god kept telling me too. I thought it was going to say it’s a sin to get a tattoo and I have a lot and I love them , my tattoo are very meaningful to me. You just help me understand that tattoo are only a sin if it you use them for sinful reasons thank you Allen 🙏🏾
I say this with love and care that all forms of marking your body is inherently sinful. Our bodies aren’t even our own. They’re suppose to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Shall we mark what not ours? I don’t think so. I’m not even going to bring up the Leviticus verse we all know, but instead let me say this, we know that God even though ordered sacrifices He actually didn’t find true pleasure in them, but even in them He wanted spotless lambs and bulls etc without defect or injuries for that matter. So how much more a sacrifice(us) that He actually desires? My friends it’s not legalism, it’s the Heart of God to not mark or carve, or make ourselves bleed. We do not own our bodies and we should not act like it. I believe even though Allen is educated and I’m sure came with the right intentions, he’s still wrong. I don’t believe the Holy Spirit Himself will say yeah let’s go get a Tattoo of scripture to be a conversation piece when the fruit of Spirit should draw people to us, or in a sense be cop out to have people talk to us first when the Spirit gives us boldness. My friends God knows all, if you truly think I’m wrong I hope you guys have the Spirit to teach you and make you understand all things.
@@ipodtouch573 I'm saying ask yourself is it Biblical or Worldly. In other words is it “Christ-Like” or “Worldly-Like”. Forget your pastor or whoever, would Christ be proud or ashamed of you for doing it. After all we live for Christ, not for ourselves.
@@ipodtouch573 where do Christians even fit into the bible or sinning? Why do people join a non biblical religion and act like it is biblical? It's just a big "hope club". I really wanna understand this because I'm completely lost in understanding the whole thing.
We are not bound by the law but live in grace. God cares more about what is in a man's heart than what is written on his skin. With that being said, I am a Christian woman and considered getting the words " Speak life" on my wrist as a reminder to encourage others but I realized that it would be better for me to: hide His word in my heart that I might not sin against Him. Psalm 119-11
If you're not bound by law, why stop at getting tattoos. No one is perfect before God, and we are not saved because we don't have tattoos, have never cheated, have not murdered, etc. However, your line of thoughts is that of a permissive follower. The reason we are saved by grace is because our flesh is incapable of not sinning, but that's not permission to sin. The problem nowadays is that followers of Christ are afraid to offend other people in the name of the bible.
I've got a small cross on my wrist, and it's been a great way to start the Jesus conversation with people. It also helps me remember who I am representing in every moment of my life. It took me several years to finally get it done, but I decided that if there ever comes a day I don't want a cross permanently marking me, I've got bigger problems.
I don’t think your saying enough. Please read 1st Corinthian‘s 6: 13-20. Verse 19 is where you get this saying the body is the temple. The apostle Paul was writing about sexual immorality and how your body was not meant for it and that’s the statement came about your body is a temple do not to file it. The context of this scriptures about sexual immorality and not about tattoos or eating wrong or not being healthy.
...of The Holy Spirit right? I wont vandalize a church because of the Spirit an because it might not please God. I belong to Him an am not my own so I stopped getting tattoos
I got two Christian tattoos after I got saved. I wasn’t spiritually mature when I got them. I was going to get another for my birthday but the Holy Spirit convicted me about getting another one so I didn’t
Timothy Nyota i think what she was tryna say is..she got tattoos related to Christianity ..so she called them Christian tattoos...but I get what you mean
I love that I’m watching this before I get mine. I am getting a tattoo in remembrance and respect for my father that past away 2 years ago tomorrow. I think it will help with closure and mourning but I am so excited! My first and quite possibly my last. I think it’ll look great and utterly eager for it. It’ll hurt for sure but goodness worth it ten folds
I have “the least of these” from Matthew 25:40 on my left bicep. That tattoo has given me countless opportunities to share a quick testimony from people asking me what it means. I’m a missionary in Nepal, and there’s a lot of people here who have been told that tattoo’s = hell. When i bring them the gospel and they my tattoos, conversation starts, and many have been brought to Christ... because of my tattoos
True,i don't why they make such a fuss over it.Even when we get raptured or die we soon will get resurrected bodies so no one will have anything in their body. They say tatoo has no motive.A loved one is a motive,God is a motive.
Thank you! Thank you for posting this. I got my tattoos before turning my life to Christ. However, I love getting ink, I'm an artist and I also don't want anything that will not glorify God. But I've struggled to find a clear answer on this topic.
Romans 12:2: "Do not be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Christians are not supposed to follow the world or do as the world does because the world is corrupt. Tattoos are disgusting.
90% of my tattoos are scripture based. They are great conversation starters, and an amazing way to reach people I may otherwise of never interacted with!
One thing about God is that He maximizes whatever we give Him. Just because there's some benefits to something doesn't make it right. But I'm glad that that was a good conversation starter🔥
I don't argue when it comes to Tattoos, even if lev 19:28 was taken out of context, I chuck tattoos under " might be lawful But definitely not expedient"
this is such a straight forward video. I love the way you stayed biblical and not jsut opinion based. I've had many people tell me it's not a sin but not give me biblical proof, and many who tell me it is a sin and only give me that bible verse you showed. That's why i love people who are biblically based, because that is the only way to truly live your life as a Christian.
We are free to do alot but doesnt mean its right. God did away with ceremonial laws not the moral laws. Tatoos were of pagan practice and its practiced til this day in places. That alone is enough reason why one shouldn't ink themselves.
I prayed on it for awhile. A great phrase fell before me and I knew it was God. It said. "In all that you do, do it to honor god." I have the old rugged cross and a holy warrior.
@Jane Dough I didn't read everything you wrote, because I know the Bible and that is my authority. Solomon was wealthy, as was Joseph who took the body of Jesus & Joseph who was second to pharaoh in Egypt. There are many followers of God, who were abundantly and richly blessed in spiritual and physical possession. The thing was the physical blessings didn't have their heart, God did. The Bible condemns the love of money, not having money itself. Also directly above the leviticus verse regarding tattoos is a verse saying not to cut your hair or trim your beard. The same passage also excludes wearing two mixed fabrics, or planting different seeds in the same field. Why do you not follow or "preach" all of these? Because your teaching on tattoos in discrimination & taken out of context, that's why. It clearly says they were not to cut themselves "for the DEAD"....which was the practice being condemned. It was pagan ritualistic worship God wanted them to be separate from. That was the sin in that time and context. Tattooing as we know it today is not inherently evil; it is not done in worship of the dead or false gods. This is why context is so important. This was a specific set of rules for that time period for those people, & there were many you practice today. Not just tattoos. As far as "religious people" are concerned, if you read the New Testament you will see that the jewish religious leaders were the people who contended with Jesus the most. This clearly still goes on today, which is exactly what Joyce is talking about. Joyce preaches the Bible & she IS a child of God. We also need to be careful what we speak of people because God says we will be judged for "every idle word we speak." Especially when it comes to his children I'm sure.
I don’t know how I feel about getting tattoos personally, but I am artistic-minded, so I find them beautiful. I know many incredibly spiritual Christians with tattoos who radiate the fruits of the Spirit and sound knowledge. My opinion is we will never truly know based on that small portion of contextual information whether tattoos are inherently evil or judged depending on the motivation behind them. Our thinking is influenced by our denominations, families, atmospheres, life & faith experiences, etc. We each have a unique walk with God and our own convictions. What God made to be a joyful gift to inspire some to praise Him could be a personal conviction for others. Regardless, the Lord is faithful to work everything out for the good of those who love Him. Neither that nor salvation are excuses to commit what one knows is a sin, but because there is no certainty here, I believe it is up to the individual and what they believe the Holy Spirit is speaking to them on the matter. As far as the assumption that people only get tattoos for attention, I have to passionately disagree. Tattoos are art. They are a thing of beauty and some people simply enjoy looking at and wearing them. Others get tattoos for sentimental reasons. There are a number of people who seek attention or worship false idols by way of tattoos, but God alone has the authority to execute judgement. Bless up ✌🏻
To be honest with you, I wanted Tats. I once had a piercing, and although I look cool with it, there was a burning/painful feeling in my inner stomach (neither was I sick) Just a stabbing effect. Every time I took the piercing out, the pain would go away. But then I put it back in, the pain will continue. This happen for about a month so I ask this Christian lady at work and wondered what was going on, her reply was "God doesn't want you to mark yourself" I was like OH!
i'd check with God. I've learned to realize that half of those "feelings" and "sensations" that I think is the Holy Spirit speaking to me, are NOT all from God. be careful
I think the theme is to not look like the world. God wanted a people for himself, and He didn't want the Israelites to look like the pagans or the world. I think it still remains with us today. We are to put off the world and it's ways, or we shouldn't look like the world.
However, the Jewish definition of sin is more hierarchal and relies on self-righteous atonement sacrifices. That's the whole point of Jesus's death on the cross. He was the ultimate sacrifice. In Christ, all sins are the same, there is no hierarchy. Everyone looks the same when we come to Him at the cross. When we accept Christ into our lives, we were sinners who are now saved by grace, not by works. This doesn't mean that Christians have a license to sin, however it does mean that we aren't capable of condemning others when we have all sinned ourselves at some point in our lives. There are over 600+ sins mentioned in the Bible, and no one is capable of avoiding all of them. That's the whole point of grace and why we need it! Grace offers us salvation, and a relationship with Christ, which helps us to change who we are from the inside out and to become better people. The problem is that people want to do good "works" without the relationship with Christ, and they miss the entire point. Sin is still sin and it does have consequences. However only God can judge, our job is to tell others the truth of Jesus and to love others. In Christ we become a new creature, and He helps us to change our ways through our relationship with Him. Also, tattoos aren't a salvation issue. Not accepting Christ is the only salvation issue. edifythebody.org/curriculums/
So how far do we take this though? If we are going by outer appearence? If wicked people have certain haircuts do we not get those haircuts then? If a wicked person is in shape our we to make ourselves obese to not be like them? Do we not drive cars? Because they aren't spiritual, & are materialistic, & are used by wicked people? We could get really crazy with this. The world is a system of evil in the hearts and minds of people. Not a look.
I’m personally not into Tatoos, but the context of Leviticus 19:26-28 makes it very clear that God is referring to sacrifices to Pagan gods. Those are just examples of some of the ones God prohibited in the law-the entire law isn’t even in the Bible, just the ones that are relevant to the subsequent stories. For example, prophets of Baal(the god of sex), make markings as sacrifices to him in the book of Kings.
I became fascinated with tattoos when I was a teen and got a few in the Navy (it was the thing to do). Initially I wanted a cobra or dragon, but something kept me from getting either. Thank God! When I got out the military, I wanted to get more, but saw for myself in the Bible that we shouldn’t and I didn’t. The ones I have now are discreet and I still like them, but I won’t be getting more.
It is not about permitted or not. If you know Yeshua , you will have no desire to do pagan cutting with tats. It is Physical Graffiti. He made us in his image . Putting graffiti on it is a form of disrespect. Even if it is a cross. Tattoos are a vain, proud expression. We are called to be IN the world but NOT OF it.

Someone once scared me with that passage you read about cutting the sides of your hair and I was terrified, but my pastor later explained it to me, it set me free
Your friend was 100% and your pastor was 100% incorrect. God hates tattoos, worldly styles like mohawks, etc. People are in hell burning at this moment because of them.
I appreciate the video brother Parr. I went through the phase of wanting to get a tattoo but I never went through with it. Now as a father and grandfather I’m happy that I didn’t get one. I have been guilty of being judgmental before but not condemning of fellow Christians with tattoos. I am referring to the ones who get them after becoming a Christian. I agree that God looks at the heart and not the exterior but just as a personal decision I would not get one. It’s between the individual believer and Christ. God bless you all.
Supreme Steph answer is absolutely not . Anything organization where you must give an oath and has secret initiations is not of God . If they dont draw you closer to God and encourage you in your faith then have nothing to do with them . We are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers
Supreme Steph someone needs to do a video on going to The word of God for answers vs getting their answer from some lukewarm character who apparently makes his own rules and twists scriptures (some from demonic bibles) all for the sake of making a video because he’s gonna lead people to hell. His opinion doesn’t matter. If he makes a video on it, he’s gonna tell you it’s ok and try to find a scripture to justify it. Please go to God about this and not some random person who doesn’t even seem to know the word of God and just enjoys likes
I have a tattoo on my forearm of my daughter’s name, date and time of birth. As a Christian I have no regrets and my conscience is clear. I will say this though, make sure you know what you want and make sure it’ll be worth it. I thought about getting a random tattoo when I was 18, but I waited until I was 33 years old to finally decide.
Haven't watched yet, but yours strikes me as the wise answer. It's no prohibited, but if it causes you to stumble or if you are doing it out of pride, then you shouldnt do it.
You're preaching a false gospel. You should know this brother made a video where one of his topic was about judging others: we are allowed to judge based on the truth. Using your line of reasoning, it's okay to have an abortion, commit adultery, commit murder, etc., since it's between the person and God. That's plain weak.
I am a heavily tattooed Christian, and I am involved in Ministry, and I have learned that sometimes my tattoos can be a stumbling block for other people. I do not have any offencive or vulgar tattoos and all mine have personal meanings,. I do believe that tattoos can be used as an Outreach tool, but on the flip side they can also be a stumbling block for someone who does not fully understand Grace.
Robert Cook Yes! I really want tattoos and as a Christian, I don’t know if I should. I’m too young right now, but I will pray about it and see what God wants for me. If He says no, then hats his answer for me
However, the Jewish definition of sin is more hierarchal and relies on self-righteous atonement sacrifices.
@@mynameisgreg3033 when a person understands gratefulness for the gift he has been given by God Almighty, he does not want for tattoos, piercings, etc. God took his time making you, you are his work of art, you are prefect in his eyes. If you are really desiring a tattoo, consider that perhaps you are not being grateful and you are not feeling complete with him in you. Your desiring a tattoo, to the point where it's really consuming a significant portion of your thoughts, might be a sign that your not happy with what you have and are not taking on the larger issues in life, there are so many deeds the world needs us Christians to do, and focusing on a tattoo is petty. Conserve the body that he gave you, tell him it's fine just the way it is, make the Lord feel good about what he's done with you, he will appreciate it. He hurts like us, don't make him feel bad by marking up your body. Anyhow, I hope you don't get a tattoo, because you don't need one, and it brings absolutely no benefits whatsoever.
Solidfluid don’t tell me that I’m not being grateful or not feeling complete thanks. I’m extremely grateful for God and what He did for me. I’m definitely getting tattoos when I’m old enough too. You’re acting like I said my whole life revolves around tattoos and, no it doesn’t. I’m not focusing a significant portion of my life around tattoos, when did I even say that or imply it? My thoughts aren’t just about tattoos and stuff like that, where did you even get that? I can’t wait to get a tattoo, and sorry if you disagree with it
@@mynameisgreg3033 how old are you, I would like to know if it doesn't bother you telling me. Mr. Greg, as you get older you'll learn to be more precise and careful with your assumptions. If you notice, I never said, that you were being ungrateful, I merely said that you should consider that perhaps there is some of that going on. I'm 35 btw, been thru stuff here and there, I just thought I could help a young person out, I wasn't trying to judge you, I'm in position to do so. You do what you have to do son. Just remember the words "the let down". One mistake many Christians make is underestimating the Devil's intelligence. Many times mistakened my real desires for his, but oh how good he makes you feel when you rebel and you hurt our Lord. The shame that follows a bad decision is no fun. Better to prevent then have to repent, but like the lady said before me, thank God for his grace.
I have been a Christian since I was 5 years old (I am 23 now). When I was 17, I was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia, a cancer of the blood. After treatment and an experimental bone marrow transplant, I got better and was deemed 'cancer free.' I got 2 tattoos when I was 19 - on my right arm, on the inside just above my elbow I got the date of my transplant in roman numerals. On my left arm, in the same place, I got a cross tattooed. These are extremely meaningful tattoos which have served as many conversation starters for me. My description of them? The roman numerals are the date God game me a 2nd chance on this earth. My cross tattoo show that God gave me a chance eternally.
Brother Allen, please dont compromise. You're doing a great job. You love God but please the word of God doesn't change. The fact that you wear a tattoo doesn't make it right to justify it. Remember you have a lot of following so whatever you say goes to a lot of people. Please read comments under this video and respect them . Most of them don't agree with you. I may be a christian and be struggling with a sin but there's no justification for it. I believe if you already have a tatoo, God is not going to judge you with it because you didnt know but please do ask yourself if you would like to put on more tatoos. Do not conform to the world. Who are the most people who wants a tattoo now adays. Ask yourself
I was thinking of getting a tattoo. Very small one. However I realised that I had not asked myself these questions. Thank you for sharing. God bless you!
Just coming across this site and specifically this topic. Thank you for the message and explanation of what the bible says contextually about tattoos! Thank you very much. I'm a newer Christian and with my tattoos am being inundated with disapproval from older Christians in our congregation. With grace, I now have some ability to discuss this with them, and will certainly do more research as well. Again, thank you!
One thing to keep in mind with the whole “is it worldly, or “you’re body is a temple”. Remember how you judge others is how God will judge you. So if you are judging someone for having tattoos and claiming your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, but you are simultaneously overweight and constantly eating bad food and not going to the gym, just be careful someone doesn’t flip that on you. Also, if having tattoos is a “worldly” desire, be careful to not be driving around in a fancy car that you wanted or buying an over the top house. These are also worldly desires. The point I’m making here, is we all have worldly desires that we give in to. And we are all sinners. Let’s make sure the log has been removed from our own eye before we remove the spec from our brothers and sisters.
A tattoo mark is a lead up to taking the mark of the beast. Our body is s temple of the Holy Ghost. Why must our body look like s picture book or like the map of the world. Tattoos are satanic.
Maureen Simpson Tattoos aren’t satanic lol. I have a tattoo of Heaven with John 14:6. I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the father except though me. You need to focus on your own walk with God rather than getting on UA-cam and telling other Christians what is right and wrong. There isn’t one scripture in the New Testament that talks about it. Mosaic law doesn’t apply to us either. If you don’t like tattoos than that is your preference. But you shouldn’t go around pushing an opinion on people that has nothing to do with Salvation. It’s so common for Christians to hop on Social media talking about who’s the real sinner, and telling others they are wrong, but be very careful you aren’t being a hypocrite.
@@MrWhite00001 Like everything else, it is not for us to judge. With that teaching in mind, if having a tattoo were regarded as being a 'permanent mark of a time when judgement was poor', the person with the tattoo could be regarded as being more righteous, because of their abandonment of judgement, than the people judging them for having a tattoo. Judge not, lest ye be judged.
Leviticus 19 28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord. A few objections. 1. If our friends logic is legitimate, I am then allowed not only to get a tattoo, but to cut to decoratively scar myself as well so long as it is not for the purpose of pagan worship and I have "legitimate" reasons. Who decides what those are is anyone's guess. 2. Your reasons for getting one are irrelevant. You are either permitted, or you are not. Legalism is a catch phrase, like calling people racist or homophobic, to shut down conversation into investigating whether or not we have an obligation to perform. And just like "youre racist" and "youre homophobic" or "youre Islamophobic, "youre a legalist" permits many to get away with total nonsense, and coupled with "Im under grace" makes it even worse, as if there arent actually still rules we are expected to follow. Obedience, who needs that, obedience was for the jews. 3. The psychological literature makes it quite clear that the desire to get tattoos is rarely for a healthy reason. It is almost always for emotional, rebellious, vain, self destructive reasons, and is more common amongst those who generally struggle to articulate themselves and who are possessed of depression, anxiety and personality disorders, and thus use tattoos as a medium of expression, most commonly to express some kind of pain. Since a tattoo is permanent, it is the direct equivalent of dwelling on your pain. In clinical settings, once the individuals have managed to get past the pain or trauma, they usually end up regretting the tattoo. 4. Those who get "christian" tattoos. You are then literally getting a tattoo for religious reasons, and therefore are imitating the pagan form of worship. This is as foolish like using the pentagram in worship whilst insisting that it now has a christian overlay. Saying I do it for Jesus doesn't make a dumb thing legitimate, but demonstrates that you are ultimately self serving, and are no better than Cain who offered fruit instead of a lamb according to his own judgement. Furthermore, saying its a "conversation starter" is not only a really weak reason, honestly how many people are actually going to use it that way. So basically its not a reason but an excuse, and its the same as saying ends justify means. Your body isn't a billboard. God is more interested on whats on the inside, rather than on the outside. This is actually not true which is why so many verses in the bible concern outward appearance, because whats on the outside always reflects what is on the inside, unless you're putting up a facade. 5. Your body does not belong to you, you possess it like everything else God has given you, in Stewardship, and is thus not yours to modify or express yourself on for any reason, well intentioned or otherwise, like some canvass you own. In fact, the human form, being knit by God in the womb, is itself already an expression and image of God which you then deface. 6. Prohibition is not legalism since something is either right, or not. Legalism is usually the battle whine of people who wish to pursue their own course or avoid discernment. Legalism is also a strange objection since not only does the very same chapter contain laws we still abide by today, but is highly specific in everything, leaving nothing to interpretation. Legalism is in fact a practice used by lawyers and the unfaithful to circumnavigate or find loop holes in either laws or principles in order that the individual may escape the responsibility it intends to bind you to in order to do what is right in their own eyes. Arguing that a principle or law is either unclear, or, artificially narrowing it to the point where it conveniently no longer applies to you is a classical tactic, as it is to try argue that the action is not in fact covered by any explicit law or statement, much like homosexuals and anti-trinitarians attempt to do. However, even if Leviticus 19:28 did not exist, the principle of stewardship over your body would still forbid the practice according to the context of the entire bible, a fact that the west seems to have forgotten not only in matters of vain adornments and the amount of time and money we shamefully waste on such considerations, but in matters of health as well that Christians in the west should be so fat an unhealthy as to be a laughing stock amongst our brothers and sister in other nations. For people who like to go on about context, they leave out an extraordinary amount of it. This argument demonstrates that western Christians are, like with their dietary and materialistic appetites, more interested in the satiation of their emotional and vain appetites than in adhering to Christian principle.
The bible was literally talking about how some people back in the old testament would tattoo themselves to whorship pagan gods it was to seperate the israelites from pagans

I started getting tattoos in highschool...before you judge, let me elaborate. I got my first concussion in the fall of my senior year. It ROCKED my life, like..thank the Lord I was able to graduate. But something really scary (to me) started happening. I started forgetting things. I then got another TBI (traumatic brain injury) the following February, followed by a 3rd that same August. I got my tattoos because I was scared I was going to forget all the amazing things God's done in my life. At some point I will admit, I just continued getting more ink because I thought it looked cool, and I still think they look cool! I've kept them in immaculate condition because they are an investment. I'm now 24, and the most recent TBI I received was last year on Christmas Eve....only....that was my 8th concussion since that first one back in highschool. My concussions just piled on top of eachother since my brain never really had a chance to fully heal before I got another. I'm not at all condoning getting a sleeve "just because". They're expensive, they require a decent amount of care to continue looking *new*, and they sometimes give me away for being the kinda guy you wouldn't want your daughter dating. BUT God's been so good to me & being able to remember that "Only Jesus will Satisfy" my longing heart is such an encouragement! I have had SO many opportunities to witness to people as a result of them seeing my ink. They're stories of God's faithfulness, mercy, and sovereignty, whether that message is for me, or for the world! Praise God for almost a year without a head injury!
You gave the correct exegesis in this video. Nice teaching! A lot of people have legalistic teachings where they condemn tattoos in all cases when in reality, getting a tattoo is only wrong if it’s evil, overdone, or if done with wrong motives, or if you go against your personal convictions. I hate it when legalistic pharisees try to force personal convictions upon others. What they fail to realize is that not all Christians are meant to be the same.
As Christians we are the dwelling place of The Holy Spirit. I do not imagine The Holy Spirit wants His dwelling place adorned with tattoos. We are told to have a modest appearance and to not do anything that would hinder our witness and tattoos would represent a moment of weakness that you gave-in to a desire to decorate your body by fleshly means. You may have thought a long time about getting a tattoo, but you ultimately gave in to the fleshly desire to actually get your tattoo. Like we are to dress modestly, we are to keep our physical body in a modest appearance too. Praise The Lord and Godspeed to you all - Romans 6:23!!
Having tattoos isant a sin and it doesnt distract ur witness ur funky attitude is wht will mess up ur witness and u telling ppl they have to b modest will all ur religious rules of dos and dnts will run anyone off
Right when I saw the title I was like "well, too late for that! Not much I can do about it!" I believe THE CONDITION OF YOUR HEART is what's MOST IMPORTANT. One can be all tatted up and have a beautiful, loving and giving heart and the other could have no tattoos but be arrogant, not considerate of others and think themselves better than other Christians simply because their outer appearance is "pure". Who is greatest in the Kingdom? (Not me, but you get where I'm going with this....)
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” - 1 Corinthians 6:20 (KJV) How did you see that
I see that u can have tattoos that glorify god or something thing u like Like for example I would like to have a tattoo of rugby Since I like it Also I want religious Tattoos One on my upper left arm of the face of Jesus with the thorn crown A full sleeve of bible verses on my right arm I also want one of God making the earth On my back And one on my chest of Jesus on the Cross

Alan, Thank you . For this video. I am in the process of getting one, but it’s something that God had spoke to me , and a friend as well . And yes I pray that it will be a conversation piece , who see it, as it will be on my arm. And if you take care of it, when you are older , it should be alright . Blessings.
As John Piper pointed to Hebrews 12:1 - How does this draw me closer to the LORD? How does this enhance my race as I run to the LORD? If this doesn't make me draw closer buddy it is not necessary. That's just my thinking based on the SCRIPTURE.
Nderitu Pius Q:How does this draw me closer to the LORD? A: The tattoo is acted as a reminder that there is only one who saved me, Jesus Christ. Even in my lowest days. Q: How does it enhance my race as I run to the LORD? A: Even in my lowest days where I am far away from God in a place that is ungodly, a tattoo, being a permanent imprint, will always remind me of the love that Jesus gave me and the mercy of Father God. This tattoo acts as an impenetrable footstool (as it is hard not to be reminded) for my faith and is marked on the temple that is my body. So it seems like I may want to get a tattoo. :/
That is true, but I mean, we do this with everything. Tattoos can just be fun and nothing more or less. Why get a cute shirt or why have hobbies if it's not drawing you closer to the Lord? We could apply that to everything and end up with boring lives. "Why buy this nice, new, fun outfit if it's not drawing me closer to God?" Because it's cute and not making you further from God, ya know? I don't have tattoos and don't plan on getting one any time soon but tattoos aren't as crazy as people make them out to be. 😊❤
I am a Christian and I am saved - with 5 tattoos. Most of them are hidden but I feel honestly I can do what I want as long as I don’t sin. I’m not perfect, so I’m not saying I don’t, but in my daily walk I can say I strive to make sure my ways a pleasing to God. When I do catch myself doing things, or think back on things that I’ve done - or should’ve done, I repent. My heart is right whether people think my tattoos are wrong or not. My relationship with my Father is solid, I chose Him because He chose me first. 😎
XIX I agree with you 100%. I prayed about it and felt as if I had been led to this video. I have 2 tattoos (1 is a cross and the other a scripture) and I feel that when I am asked about them I am able to share about the goodness of Jesus Christ! No one is perfect, but I feel that if it is for the right motive, tattoos are acceptable.
You can do what you want as long as you do not sin?? What does that even mean? Why shouldn't you strive to do what God wants, instead of doing what you want?
@Jane Dough That's what I don't understand about people such as yourself. If you're going to quote scripture, please quote the whole thing, not just what fits your argument. I believe you're referring to Leviticus 19:28 - Does not the "marks on your body" you're talking about doesn't refer to the dead.
Cool point. I don't have tattoos but often I consider how it could open up opportunity to share the Gospel. As you said the Lord wants to see the inner man live and the old crucified with Christ. Seek the Kingdom of God first and his righteousness be added into you. God bless

However, the Jewish definition of sin is more hierarchal and relies on self-righteous atonement sacrifices. That's the whole point of Jesus's death on the cross. He was the ultimate sacrifice. Very well discussed and presented Allen. I always tell people that since tattos have become so mainstream, the true rebel is someone who does not get a tattoo. I am a proud rebel in that sense.
Plus I don't see how a tatoo will glorify God. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit therefore we should treat them as such. Getting a tatoo is like spray painting a church.
When I tell you I was relieved while watching this. The reason I want a tattoo is because I love art and I like the way it looks in general, although it would probably be better not to get a tattoo I really like the look of them, not even for attention! Whew!! Am reading The Bible a second time (NIV this time around as opposed to NLT) and of course, am getting even more out of it and I just read Leviticus chapter 19 this morning after getting fresh ink earlier this week! And of course, verse 28 stuck out like a SORE THUMB. ZOINKS!!! My previous two tats I had done BEFORE I was saved, but this new one I got AFTER I was saved. What did I get? Well, my wife and I both got crosses tattooed on our right forearms to permanently "mark" us as believers (mine being two spikes lashed together with the blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ, represented on the spikes) and to help with our witnessing efforts. So after my blood ran cold when reading the verse, I immediately sought out Allen Parr's guidance and watched this video which put my heart at ease as our motivation for doing so was to promote The Kingdom of God. Thank YOU Pastor Allen Parr!
Did God create anyone with tattoos in their skin? No. Did God create anyone with piercings in their skin? No. He created us in His image, when we put marks or tattoos on it we are marring God's creation. There are plenty of different ways to start a conversation, and you don't have to have a tattoo to start a conversation. And by the way, the King James Version is the closest thing we have to the original. All other so called bibles are missing thousands of words. Example: NIV is missing over 60,000 words compared to the KJV. Would you buy a 10lb bag of groceries that really only had 2 lbs? Nope. Why have a knife if you could have a sword ?
I personally have 3 tattoos and plan on getting more. My tattoos are meaningful, and they are all a testimate to my life. I am a Christian, and so are most in my family. Multiple of us have tattoos. I do not believe that having moral and meaningful tattoos will cause me to be punished by God.

So if "I am the Lord" who is our God says not to do it & you still do...why question if this is a sin or not... OF COURSE it is... do you not understand what God says or do you still want to do whatever you want & act ignorant to scripture?
Konane Pelekai it makes no difference his thots on the matter yah our god said not to ..if I like hair cuts but yah deems them sinful than I am wrong for geting my hair cut and if u do more studies on the topic it's not just cutting ur hair there was types that were wrong ..but u or him quoting other things that u deem as silly to justify a tattoo does not justify it at all ..it just shows u care more of tradition then of what yah says
@@PrincessPikachu1 You do realize that he kinda messed up on what the law meant by that. It's actually more clear in the Jewish bible than the KJV. The levites were not supposed to cut their hair. And the fabric part was about sewing it with an older one.

I respect that you honor your conscience. How do you respond to others who differ from you?
Good for you, stick to your convictions. But dont try to impose your convictions on anyone.
That could just be you and not God, just saying...
Ya know
I also bought up tv and learning new skills
I see you didn't address those!
I'm pretty much bothered by this response since you already accuse me of fitting in with the world.. which I do and matter of fact we all do..

You say doing drugs is wrong from exactly what biblical basis, we not need to confuse should, with morality.
Ain't nothing wrong with that,
If you say yes there is, then how do you reconcile that with christian rap, rock, website, and other christian emulations of something like that!

This is so encouraging and reminds me that in everything I should be led by the spirit of God.

I love your analysis there! I wish I thought of it myself! 😉

I think a lot of people here are missing that
Greatly explained
Amen

You shouldn't be scared. Either way you are forgiven of sins. Personally I think he handled this topic poorly tho.
Sisss I feel you
I say this with love and care that all forms of marking your body is inherently sinful.

I got two Christian tattoos after I got saved. I wasn’t spiritually mature when I got them. I was going to get another for my birthday but the Holy Spirit convicted me about getting another one so I didn’t
there is no such thing as a Christian tattoo!
People take Leviticus 19 out of context all the time
How? 🤣
But you must understand that your body is the temple of God and tattoos are of the world not God
They are great conversation starters, and an amazing way to reach people I may otherwise of never interacted with!
dang I want a conversation starter tattoo
One thing about God is that He maximizes whatever we give Him. Just because there's some benefits to something doesn't make it right. But I'm glad that that was a good conversation starter🔥
I don't think Jesus needed a tattoo to start a conversation or any other disciple.
@@islandman9748 OP isn't Jesus or an original disciple . . . . .
@@RB-tx4mn sorry I don't understand, please explain me.
I would say no, however I don't think it would stop a person from going to heaven.
Mony E what makes you say no?
You’re free to but I personally do not find tattoos beneficial.
Neither are earrings, or heels...but to each it's own
TAYE earrings and heals are permanent
Isaiah Askew earrings aren’t permanent they can be removed easily but tattoos are are permanent
comedy gaming a piercing is permanent though
We are free to do alot but doesnt mean its right. God did away with ceremonial laws not the moral laws. Tatoos were of pagan practice and its practiced til this day in places. That alone is enough reason why one shouldn't ink themselves.
I prayed on it for awhile. A great phrase fell before me and I knew it was God. It said. "In all that you do, do it to honor god." I have the old rugged cross and a holy warrior.
You remind me of Denzel Washington. A very humble actor in the film Industry.
Let me guess you are white? I feel like only white people say that.
Yes!
Nico Pastore I'm black and I think he looks like Denzel Washington. Race has nothing to do with this.
@@venus5274 I think it was more so how he explained him. Like as if he wasn't/isn't a very well known actor.
Zay Simone So? not every white person does that though.
Permitted, however I think that tattoos that are against what is said in the bible aren’t permitted.
I agree all the way. Thanks!
reminder , that was a old testament scripture which aimed of those who were marking their body for the deaddddd
@Jane Dough did you not watch the video or Biblically search the matter in context for yourself?
I once had a piercing, and although I look cool with it, there was a burning/painful feeling in my inner stomach (neither was I sick)
Just a stabbing effect. Every time I took the piercing out, the pain would go away. But then I put it back in, the pain will continue. This happen for about a month so I ask this Christian lady at work and wondered what was going on, her reply was "God doesn't want you to mark yourself"
I was like OH!
He just ain't want you walking around here looking like a bitch with a belly piercing
i'd check with God.
Very good point!!
Not a look.
@@kierstencreates958 Excellent statement...
@@mynameisgreg3033 when a person understands gratefulness for the gift he has been given by God Almighty, he does not want for tattoos, piercings, etc. God took his time making you, you are his work of art, you are prefect in his eyes.
Who are the most people who wants a tattoo now adays. Ask yourself
My dad always said I should not get a tattoo because God made me the way I am and I should not change it.
I'm not dissing your dad or anything, but here's a question to think about: Will getting a tattoo change your character or who you are?
@@MrWhite00001 yesssss
@@MrWhite00001 THANK YOU!!!
Leviticus 19
28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.
Well said brother!

BUT
God's been so good to me & being able to remember that "Only Jesus will Satisfy" my longing heart is such an encouragement!
Praise The Lord and Godspeed to you all - Romans 6:23!!
and the Holy does not want us eating process foods that can do harm to our bodies.
Having tattoos isant a sin and it doesnt distract ur witness ur funky attitude is wht will mess up ur witness and u telling ppl they have to b modest will all ur religious rules of dos and dnts will run anyone off
I've wondered about this for years. Your video was thought-provoking and informative.
I have the enormous regret for ever having tattoos. Can't wait to remove them!
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.”
- 1 Corinthians 6:20 (KJV)
How did you see that
I see that u can have tattoos that glorify god or something thing u like
Like for example
I would like to have a tattoo of rugby
Since I like it
Also I want religious
Tattoos
One on my upper left arm of the face of Jesus with the thorn crown
A full sleeve of bible verses on my right arm
I also want one of God making the earth
On my back
And one on my chest of Jesus on the Cross
@@zenoZ5 that face of Jesus is not the real face of Jesus, nobody knows the real face of Jesus and being in the Jerusalem area he certainly wasn't white.
Yedidia Bouah yea I know but the closest is him with Middle Eastern features
@@zenoZ5 if you also believe that Jesus is God like I do then shouldn't that mean we should not make any images of him. Especially putting an image of a man on your body that could very well not look anything like our saviour in the slightest. From a brother in Christ to another I suggest you do the verses and symbols as tattoos but not the face.
Yedidia Bouah ok thank you
Alan, Thank you .
Nderitu Pius
Q:How does this draw me closer to the LORD?
Jane Dough please don’t shame the younger generation. Not everyone is like that in our generation. You don’t know every one
Facts
@Jane Dough That's what I don't understand about people such as yourself. If you're going to quote scripture, please quote the whole thing, not just what fits your argument. I believe you're referring to Leviticus 19:28 - Does not the "marks on your body" you're talking about doesn't refer to the dead.
Cool point. I don't have tattoos but often I consider how it could open up opportunity to share the Gospel. As you said the Lord wants to see the inner man live and the old crucified with Christ. Seek the Kingdom of God first and his righteousness be added into you. God bless
Think before you Ink - This took me off for a second! lol. However, this video is very well explained. God bless you brother
Could you talk about abortions and the fate of those who have done it
Good one!
I have always wonder if a child is a product of rape, what to do?
@@ketwannawalker4106 : is the fruit of a rape less worthy of living his own life because of its conception's circumstances ?
Abortion is what it is. Plain murder. Whether you like it or not, whether the new world (order ?) likes it or not, it's plain truth.
I don't expect to convince you with this last sentence, but to open you a certain perspective with the first one.

I have often wondered the same thing, the question I asked myself is... would I want to suffer the consequences of my father's sin? My answer would be no but I also understand the psychological ramifications on the mother. Very good question. Very tough to answer. But I believe the Lord will never give us more than we can bear.
2 Timothy 2:15 says: Study to show thyself approved a workman needed not to be ashamed, but rightfully Dividing the Word of Truth!!! Thank you my brothet for dividing the Word !!! Grace and Peace!!!
You also got to realize that back in the day, getting a tattoo could lead to some pretty nasty infections. The whole point of Old Testament law was survival.
Heyy!!👋 If people only knew the chemical composition of tattoo inks, dyes, pigments and all the side effects or more importantly the long-term effects tattoo inks can have on your immune system, pathology,...(the list of health issues related to it is endless), they will see that a tattoo is not a good idea. Same for anything, be careful of what you are exposing yourself to.
1Corinthians 10:23 and 1Corinthians 6:19.
If you decide to get one anyway, avoid iron-based inks. Bad for MRI.
Research your ink
Very well discussed and presented Allen. I always tell people that since tattos have become so mainstream, the true rebel is someone who does not get a tattoo. I am a proud rebel in that sense.
Plus I don't see how a tatoo will glorify God. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit therefore we should treat them as such. Getting a tatoo is like spray painting a church.
When I tell you I was relieved while watching this. The reason I want a tattoo is because I love art and I like the way it looks in general, although it would probably be better not to get a tattoo I really like the look of them, not even for attention! Its something I personally desire! but if it really is something wrong then God forgive me
I personally hope you didn't get it but God be with you💕💕 Feels like a sin in my heart and doesn't feel right to my spirit. That's what I'm going to listen to...
Kannot . Leviticus 19:28 your right it is a sin here’s your verse if anyone says otherwise
@XLeah ~ So, you feel 'relieved' because he told you what you wanted to hear ...smooth words, compromise. Allen Parr even has some type of marking/tattoo on his arm.
It’s a sin bud no matter what way u look at it, u can’t try to make a sin right or only cause u like say it’s ok it’s not try n pray on it n fight off temptation, it’s like having sex with someone u really like before marriage it’s still a sin n it happens it’s all temptation from the devil
@@davidlenis7215 I know it’s a year later and hopefully you have been educated… But if not let me ask you, do your trim your beard?
Thank you for sharing this information. I do not have any tattoos and have never wanted any. I have struggled with the issue of Christians getting them after their conversion because of the verse that you shared. Thank you for clearing this up for me. God Bless You! 🙌🏻☝🏻
So if "I am the Lord" who is our God says not to do it & you still do...why question if this is a sin or not... OF COURSE it is... do you not understand what God says or do you still want to do whatever you want & act ignorant to scripture?
B Z Since that is your stance on tattoos, do you feel the same way about haircuts, beard trimming, and mixing fabrics?
Konane Pelekai The mixed fabrics was referring to mixing wool with linen which when done in the Middle East I guess causes heat exhaustion and extra shrinkage cause of the climate there. I think we're okay since we aren't making our own cloths and Americans don't have to worry much about heat exhaustion from our fabrics.
