    Your video was the only one that clearly explained the process and showed the exact steps to perform to install the drives for 7820. Your links also had the actual parts to purchase to make this work. It was impossible to find this information, dell website was next to useless. Thank you for the clear and extremely helpful info

    G'day mate! Thanks for this video. I really appreciate the effort. Just got my T5820 (XEON w-2255) two weeks ago and upgraded my graphics card from quadro P620 to Nvidia RTX 3090 today. It works really well. Though there were few challenges, like modifying the case but it was worth it. You can add 3090 in your website. Cheers!!

    Thanks, great video, making the differences very clear. I think the Flexbay system is plagued with too many rules and limitations. Plus the 250 bucks you have to pay for the VROC module, just to unlock the full RAID potential of the processor, while only supporting 2 slots in the front.

    Hello, I'm considering getting a Dell T7920 with the quad adapter you discussed in this video. I'm wondering how to set the four m.2 drives in the quad adapter up both as a Windows boot drive and using RAID (e.g., 1 (stripping) or 10). I believe this is possible because when buying directly from Dell, they offer RAID configuration for the four drives in the adapter and as a bootable Windows drive.
    Also, do you have size, model, and manufacturer recommendations for the m.2 drives in the quad adapter? I'm thinking about Samsung 2TB, but I am unsure of the model. Thank you.

    Hi to all the guys here. Would like to make an important question in my case concerning these dell computers that come with raid as an active drive controller (intel rst active) and not ahci. The problem is that whenever i try to boot into these machines in a winpe environment with the Strelec package if you know that, in order to reset the admin password if i cannot log into it or just backup the data of a user into an external hdd before reinstalling windows if the precedent os is damaged and cannot be repaired, the internal hdd-s or ssd-s of just the os directories into the drives are invisible. I click on “This PC” and there’s only my usb visible and nothing else. I made a search on the internet and it seems it has something to do with the intel rst driver that abstracts the hdd from the os. Please help me, what should i do in this case in order to be able managing the pc even when the pc is unbootable or just the admin password is not recognized.

    Thanks very much for your T5820 videos! I'll looking at purchasing a used one and researching upgrade possibilities. Just to double check I understand what you did in this video correctly - you were able to have the M.2 drives in the FlexBay at the same time as the Quad M.2 PCI card? Unitil seeing this video I thought you could only do one or the other. Also - have you by chance looking into whether this setup works in Windows 11 (I'm wondering if the drivers for the Quad M.2 card work correctly with Windows 11). Would really appreciate any insight on these aspects, and thanks again for the great video.

    It seems that the T7920s doesn't support third party quad-NVME adapters (booting, no. Seeing the actual drives via separate Win 11 OS on a SATA SSD in one of the flex bays, yes) so I've purchased an official dell dual-NVME pcie adapter. I only have two NVMEs on me at the time plus it was a good deal off of ebay.
    I'm hoping that would be the easiest fix to my boot issue here with my recently purchased t7920
    On a side note, I've also been having trouble with the 8 pin power cable clearance for my RTX 4060 OC graphics card in the top PCIE lanes. My quickest workaround with that is to have the side panel hanging via twist-ties & having the intrusion switch covered with tape to trip the switch. In the meantime, I've ordered a right angle 8 pin male to 8 pin female adapter to hopefully give just a bit more clearance to the side panel closing.
    Has anyone else had any issues with RTX 40xx graphics cards in the T7920 and/or 3rd party 4x NVME pci-e adapters?

    This is a GREAT video! I have been going round and round with Dell Pro Support trying to get them to find the complete FlexBay assembly for an SSD upgrade. I hadn't thought about a Quad adapter, so THANK YOU for that option! I have been trying to order the M.2 2280 NVME FLEXBAY MODULE, but they sent me just the empty metal frame - had to return it. I cannot locate ANY of the components you show here on Dell's website - and both the tech support and sales support are completely clueless. Twice now, a sales agent has promised to "research" my request and email me a quote... and twice now, nothing. It's insane. The shipping box you show in your video is exactly the same as the one they sent me with the wrong parts, so I am assuming you bought those directly from Dell.
    *** For those three items you are showing, any chance to could share the Part Numbers and Descriptions from the invoice?? ***
    I am at my wits end dealing with Dell, going on three months of back and forth.

    Hi, the Samsung 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVM is a 7000mb/s SSD.
    So why it's showing just 33000mb/s on your benchmark if is correctly intalled on a PCI-e3x16 (16.000mb/s)?

    • @GreenPCGamerscom
      @GreenPCGamerscom  Рік тому

      There is a bottle neck that doesn't allow it to achieve 7000MBs in the T5820/T7820/T7920 workstations.

    • @RayanMADAO
      @RayanMADAO 9 місяців тому

      The drive is not installed in a PCIe3x16 slot. It's installed in an M.2 slot. M.2 slots are limited to 4 lanes.
      So the drive is running at PCI-e3x4 (4000MB/s).
      Installing 4 drives into the adapter and creating a raid 0 array would get the theoretical 16,000MB/s
      It's a PCIe 4.0 drive. If you want 7000MB/s on a single drive you need a PCIe 4.0 slot.
