This is definitely up there on the list of shows I’m pissed with getting cancelled. Others on the list being the shortening of ‘The Owl House’ and the cancelling of ‘I am Not Okay With This’
Last time I was this puzzled over a cancellation was in 2008 when ABC canceled Pushing Daisies.

Crazy how shows somehow always get canceled after a massive cliffhanger. Wild of paramount to cancel Icarly, got me wondering though what’s their idea of a successful show? That viewer count # probably is crazy.
There were like 4 or 5 shows all on the same channel that I watched that I'm just now figuring out ended on a cliffhanger.
I think it’s because most shows just assume they will get another season, so they want the numbers to be good for when they return.
If they don’t think they will, then they usually write an ending (which becomes awkward if it does come back.)
people were probably watching it bc well, its icarly. Myself included. But no one was talking about it. No one actually cared or had any real interest in it. It was like well, this is icarly, I HAVE to watch it. But we were all painfully waiting for it to be over. Begrudgingly watching the new episode each week.
Stop acting like y'all don't know, it was cancelled due to the WGA strikes which only last 107 days, they wanted to send a dumb message and ruined peoples time invested in this show

From seeing iCarly back in the day and now, it stings that we got robbed from seeing Carly and Spencer's Mother. The reboot seems productive for two seasons within three years

Yeah, I heard the revival was cancelled. This stinks! The reboot was absolutely terrific and we get screwed by the whole universe by axing the revival.

I honestly don't remember season 2 and season 3 was a little better. The main problem is the cliffhanger. If it hadn't ended like that. I don't think people would give a shit
Honestly, this deserves the movie that Zoey 101 got if they can’t another season. Yes, it would be rushed for the Creddie payoff, but to have an A plot be around Carly and Spencer dealing with the return of their mother and how it affects their views on relationships would be emotional closure enough to be worth it. Playing Mrs Shay off against Marissa Benson too has potential, since they’re polar opposites as mothers in that one is absent in every way and the other is the poster mother for My Beloved Smother.
Honestly wasn't that much of a fan of the Zoey 101 movie

Mrs. Benson isn't smothering some ppl like being v with b their mom or taking care of her. Dan the predator and his predatory writes wrote Mrs Benson as a super helicopter mom bc Dan hates adult women but Mrs Benson turned v out to be a good comedic character. Mrs Benson vs Mrs shay would be good in a comedic c element but no b need to n or them b against each b ornery. Zoey 101 got a movie bc Dan likely got Jamie Lyn spears pregnant

They really pulled a “Victorious” on this show, except in a major way! We were so frickin’ close to the mystery of Carly’s mom. I’m genuinely so pissed off with the studio for pulling the plug on this so soon
My guess is that they cancelled the iCarly reboot because of the strike but I think probably they will make a movie or some type of special to end the series off instead of a whole new season. I think Paramount has enough respect for the series to not just end it like that.
The 2007 strike killed off a lot of shows, like Cory in the House and Just Jordan.
Considering the guy who played Cory liked little girls I’m not mad about it no skin off my nose
CBS (owned by Paramount) has a history of being brutal to legacy shows. They threw Betty White under the bus! CBS renewed The Golden Palace (spinoff of The Golden Girls) in 1993, but changed their minds and canceled it after one season.

For all the Ned’s Declassified fans, the main characters/cast from the show have their own podcast on UA-cam! It has the same energy as the original show and is just wholesome to watch.
It'a better than nothing. Ned Bigby's actor (Devon Werkheiser) has been pitching ideas for a sequel series for show over the years and for some reason Nick keeps turning down those ideas for a sequel.
ngl, this kinda bummed me. It wasnt an amazing life changing show, but it was a light hearted easy watch/ comfort show. and i hate cliffhangers 😭😭
I don’t think I’ve ever been this distraught about a show cancellation in my entire life. This has been my comfort show for the last three years. I truly believe it’s one of the best reboots we’ve ever had. The way it kept the original comedy style well aging up the characters and not being afraid to allow them to curse and show adult situations. So good. And Harper became one of my favorite fictional characters so quickly, and I definitely did not think that would happen.

man this is such a shame they canceled the reboot as well. I was going to manage to get back into watching it. I was halfways through s1 and had plans on returning to it. Which I am planning on still. I figured they were eventually going to show the mom down the road but sad we will never get to see her and how she looks like. Such a damn shame. :(

Sad and really surprised. Stopped what i was doing to watch this video. It was a show i wanted to watch eventually, i loved it as a kid and had heard nothing but good things about the reboot. The clips youtube recommended were also fun.

My heart was broken when I saw that the show was canceled... Season 3 was amazing, and it really did seem like the show found its footing. I wasn't sold on the show when watching Season 1 but I wanted to see where things would go. Season 2 was better but still lacked some sort of focus... while Season 3 had so much focus and it was honestly great.

I’m so sad that the series has been cancelled. I really enjoyed it. I was really looking forward to hearing what happened to Carly’s mother and why she left the family. It always irritates me how the best shows are always cancelled but then they keep the most trashiest shows on television. I really hope there will be a movie to wrap everything up including the storyline of Carly’s mother. It’s the one storyline everyone was really interested in seeing.
Getting the news that iCarly was cancelled genuinely ruined my day. I really have no reason to stay subscribed to Paramount+ anymore. I hope Nathan and Miranda are able to make just one wrap up special or movie happen. I feel like they and we as fans deserve it
The producers and writers waited too long to reveal Carly’s mother and now it’s too late, now the producers and writers are probably regretting not showing Carly’s mother earlier
I can't believe they cancelled this show. I loved it and the new characters brought into the show are hilarious. I really was looking forward to the new season. Every episode was exciting and didn't drag. It made me want to know more about each character's journey. I'm very sad that this has happened 😭
I'm pretty surprised by this news. I hadn't seen much of it, but the iCarly revival seemed to be well received and I assumed it was doing well for Paramount+ too. I can't really think of too many other series that were noteworthy hits for that streaming service. Even if it was cancelled due to the writers strike, one would assume that they'd cancel their less successful series instead of one f their most popular one. Paramount+ isn't one fo the biggest streaming sites around, so unless their expectations were unrealistically high, it just seems like such a strange decision. Cancelling the series after that major cliffhanger ending does make it sting for both the fans and the cast too. I'm fairly optimistic that they'll do something with the show though. Getting a movie to wrap up the storyline sounds pretty plausible. It's possible that fan demand can lead to a fourth season too, but getting a movie might be a bit easier sell for Nickelodeon, even if it would be more rushed than a full season.

I think the only other show with a shot is wizards of waverly place. I carly -sam and gibby isn't gonna have the same shot as a show with a similarly huge following but with a full cast.

I disagree. I think the problem wasn’t Icarly, but Paramount plus. I could see another reboot doing well if paramount plus ends and their catalogue gets bought by another streaming service.
@KelpyG. they could, and they will, the thing about a possible wizards of waverly place reboot is that all the actors involved are still cool with each other and don't have disdain for their former employer. Like 2 years ago, half the cast of wizards of waverly Place made a movie financed by Selena. They have said in interviews they are all interested in a reunion, it just depends when it works for Selena. My issue with it will be if they go the girl meets world, ravens home, that 90s show route, where they try to focus more on a new set of characters and gear the show for an audience of a younger demographic that wasnt around to watch the initial show and just barely sprinkle the old characters in as nostalgia pieces. That's the way the show will fail.
Honestly these networks are so disconnected from fans it's infuriating.
You realized we missed an iCarly and Fraiser crossover, right? They both are based in Seattle and revived on Paramount +. It could have happened.
I hope another service picks it up to continue the story because the massive cliffhanger at the end of season 3 needs to be explored further
I hope they give us a special or movie to end off the series because they really messed up here. SO many people, including myself, were gonna give paramout money to watch the next season to finally see mom and creddie unfold, like, seriously guys your viewership was about to double from S3.

Days later and this cancelation still has me up all in my feelings. I'm beyond irritated. And the more I think about it the angrier I get. It doesn't feel like iCarly was canceled due to poor ratings. Paramount+ made this show the face of their app. Heck, iCarly was the only reason I even subscribed in the first place. In 2021 it was listed as one of their most watched shows. So for them to end the show that made their stupid app relevant on such a huge cliffhanger with no farewell season it's insulting. I can't help but think that this because they don't want to the pay the cast and crew the money they would get from the new contracts.
I think it’s horrible that it ended on a cliffhanger. Both for the cast and for the fans. My really only guess as to why the show was canceled. It was due to the writers and actors strike as streaming services are losing lots of money I would probably have to make budget cuts. I think it would be great. If either we get a finale or epilogue, or if another streaming service or net work, picks it up and gives it at least one more season if not more.

Still can’t believe they cancelled the good revival/ sequel after a major cliffhanger before they could finally reveal Carly & Spencer’s mother (I wish she was played by Courteney Cox, who was known for playing Monica from Friends and Gale Weather-Riley from Scream installments). Also, we have never got a chance to see Creddie getting married, and also, we still haven’t seen Socko, or maybe at least Josh Peck admits that he’s Socko. We need Season 4, 5, and 6 after when the Strikes ends.
What if it has something to do with the Strikes? I mean, Pitch Perfect: Bumper In Berlin was cancelled for the same reasons.
HBO Max also removed Close Enough last years after it was cancelled. I wish all of those shows were back making another Seasons.

Well I think the main reason why it got cancelled was bc one of the main writers slash producers Ali schouten is on maternity leave rn and paramount decided to kill the contracts since the strikes would have meant it wouldn’t have been able to start production until beginning of next year it makes sense tbh

Update: Googled it and it is seeing an end for some networks. Disney, Warner Bros, Netflix and Universal Pictures are all in the process of getting a deal done. No mention of Paramount. The actor strike is still on-going too. This theory is possible.

Paramount+ is NOT a good streaming platform. They have unrealistic standards for their shows and barely give them time to grow before cutting the plug. Look at what they did to Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, not even two weeks after the first season fully premiered they canceled it because it "underperformed" 🙄 I highly doubt the ratings for the iCarly revival were _that_ low
Frasier is probably DOA. Kelsey Grammer probably costs more than the whole iCarly cast combined.

actually, they cancelled ROTPL to avoid having to pay royalties to the franchise. so not only was a good show cancelled and pulled from the platform (one i never even got to see and may be considered lost media at this point), they pulled it to save a quick buck. absolute ass, especially from a platform that hardly works half the damn time.

Of all the nostalgia bait revivals we’ve been getting, this was one of the few I actually liked and I thought it was really good! I’m pretty sad they cancelled it on a cliffhanger, part of me hopes someone will make a movie or something to finish the story.
The people at Paramount Plus basically said that since Carly and Freddy are together it was the perfect time to end the series, even though they had the cliffhanger with Carly's mom...

Since 2021 this show has made my summers better, always looking forward to Thursdays and watching the new episode , crying with joy for Freddie and Carly getting together...and so looking forward to season 4....but sadly it's not happening..

it would be a very Dan Schneider thing to do, but Dan isn't involved with the show at all. so I'm thinking it was Paramount pulling a Disney and canceling some shows to improve the bottom line.

Ive watched this show since i was in my teens and now im in my 20s cant believe the show got cancelled im actually crying in my room ive never cried this much before but this show means so much to me because i watched it all my life almost and when i feel sad or worried it always helped me to feel abit better. but maybe it could come back someday u never know. Ending with a last minute tease of Carly's mom felt kida....desperate? Like the crew knew they weren't going to get renewed and hoped that if they ended with a big enough cliffhanger Paramount would give them another season.
Nah, they all had hoped they'd be renewed. They literally said so in interviews. It's Paramount itself that's too broke and such a desperate tease. They had the audacity to keep teasing with video clips and gifs months after the season finale only for them to cancel on it.
They should make an icarly movie to wrap up the whole story line
This is kind of shocking. The revival was doing so well, it had been well received by old fans and it gained new fans as a result. Each season was giving us a glimpse of what was going on with some old characters from the original series and we got to see some new situations, plot and more. Sure, I felt it was missing a part of the show's creativity without Sam being there but I can understand and respect that Jennette had her reasons for not returning to the revival and I understand why after a lot she's been through. But cancelling a show that has its last episode end on a cliffhanger. That kind of sucks they just canned the show. But part of me feels that ending a season of a show on a cliffhanger in the hopes they can do another season is starting to be seen as bad luck or some kind of jinx. I've heard about a few sitcoms that got cancelled that way where the last season ends on a cliffhanger and they thought it ending that way in the hopes of getting a final season or just another season for that matter and then the shows got mysteriously cancelled for unknown reasons. Be it the original or if it got the revival treatment. So something tells me that with every film series or sitcom. They should stop ending a particular season on a cliffhanger ending because everytime there's a cliffhanger ending. The show is immediately cancelled right after that. I'm kind of wondering if the industry is picking up on cliffhanger endings often being jinxed or bad luck. But I love the revival completely because it upped the age rating and made the show funnier. But so far, in my honest opinion, cliffhanger endings are starting to be seen as bad luck for shows or the industry itself.

@@productions2054 I don't think it's intended to be a joke. Everytime a show ends a season on a cliffhanger ending and it gets cancelled afterwards. No one is actually laughing and are instead outraged from my experience that is.
I'm ngl I tried to give the series a chance the first season and watched all of it but I did not like it enough to continue it. It was not a bad show, but nothing about it hooked me in. Not even the nostalgia could make me sit down and watch it. I found it to be not very funny and kinda...Pointless tbh. Not shocked it's cancelled. I think more people are disappointed it's cancelled than the people who were actually watching it.
The first few episodes had some growing pains (I hated the first 3 episodes because of how bland they felt) but by the end of season 1 it becomes way more hilarious, with some moments even being funnier than anything in the original series. Then season 2 is great almost all the way through, I still think season 2 is my favorite so far.

I think some people stopped watching because the original plot line wasn't going on, being that iCarly is an internet show/podcast is the word in 2023. They had very few references to the show & barely made an attempt to bring the concept of iCarly back in. I didn't like things after the first season- I still watched though, but was disappointed.
They are now adults and not necessarily the goofy little kids again and the era is changing. So such issues of Internet/influencer dynamics were touched on too and did a lot of parallels and Easter eggs from the original. As adults they had other aspects of their lives that were fleshed out on as well.
I feel so devastated, but at the same time, I knew it was going to get cancelled! THAT WAS MY BIGGEST FEAR FOR THIS SHOW! THAT IT WOULDN'T BE RENEWED FOR A SEASON 4!

@@do-not-subscribe paramount plus is a mid streaming service all things considered. It didn’t exactly have any competition. I’ve noticed that more people watched the clips posted on UA-cam than the average episode of the series.

Yeah I mean I didn't like that much it felt soulless compared to the orginal show. All the main cast aren't there and it feels too adulty like I get there trying to appeal to an older audience but people watch TV to escape reality it doesn't need to feel like you're watching ABC sitcom rather it feel like the orginal show. Plus I have a bias against reboots in general 9/10 they're just not a good idea and this proves it cause now icarly story ends on a massive cliffhanger. I think icarly should of just been a movie like Zoey giving everyone some extra closure the finale didn't give and left it at that but even Still if you can't get the main 3 cast I say forget about it

@@usanatv2007sentertainmentinc. probably zoey 102 but it's hard to make a comparison cause they're different categories ones a movie ones a TV show. Both still suffer from that same soulless cash grab and not having the same charm or style as their orginal shows. What made zoey 102 probably worse was just very bad writing. If the writing was better I think it would of been ok. Even Still its hard to make a comparison of a 45 to hour in a half run movie vs a 3 season TV show because they're gonna be different expectations and standards to meet.
Reason why I say an icarly movie would of been better than A whole new series is because the major highlights of the icarly revival show that were the most interesting which is probably the creddie or seddie ( if it was a situation in a world where Sam comes back) and then carlys mom showing up and sub plot roles could of been done fairly easily in a movie maybe two.
But bringing the show back never made sense to me it was clear they were running out of ideas by the last season of the orginal run. There were things I would of have liked to see come back like the return of Melanie maybe have a cool plot where Melanie have a riviarly going on with sam over freddie which we never got and obviously the revival won't have it cause there's no more Sam, but other than that I think they should of let it end were it did there wasn't really much left to do.
Legit perplexed the mind, from what I had heard season 3 had more viewers than season 2 and more than the end of season 1. Very strange
The decision to end a show with such a massive fan base, that has been going on for so long, in such a mediocre way, was Paramount+ spitting on it's viewers. I hope that some other television entity picks up the show and continues it, because anyone with two brain cells can see that there was still a whole lot of story left to tell. Paramount+ has lost any faith I ever had in it, and I will never recommend that anyone subscribes to it. To kill such a classic, decades old series, with such garbage writing, I hope whoever is responsible for not renewing the series is blackballed and never employed again.
The original Nick reboot we were supposed to get was True Jackson VP, it was announced years ago and highly publicised, people were excited about it but as far as I know it’s gone silent
Honestly I think it's because Paramount+ probably doesn't have enough subscribers in general. Who wants to use a streaming service where half their catalogue is locked behind an additional paywall?
