No, Senator Cotton, - Singapore is a country separate from China, - Singapore is a close economic, military ally of the USA for decades, - Singaporeans cannot hold dual citizenship, - Singaporeans especially civilians cannot provide opinion: > on country leaders, > on other countries' actions, especially if its genocide or not, its the ICJ role to determine that, so why don't the USA start a case against China, akin to what SA did against Israel, if USA is so convinced.

“he grilled tiktok ceo!” he absolutely did not, he just showed how little they have against the tiktok ceo and how desperate they are to vilify apps that allow information to be spread that they try to distract everyone from
And they try to make this title to persuade people from commenting negatively against the tiktok CEO, that's such a desperate move. US is mostly about propaganda instead of seeking the truth. Just like how many americans would comment how they are superior heroes in vietnam war vs the vietnamese being evil, the truth is US did tons of mistakes, sent their soldiers there that mistreat, torture and rape the women. Invaded north vietnam by constant bombardment and agent orange that has attribute of damaging DNA(you can search on google image the after effects/deformities on new borns from agent orange the americans used). But the reason why it started is first, vietnam used to be french colony and France installed a french puppet in south vietnam, vietnamese tried to kick out the french and failed while assuming that they can't beat the white people. During WW2 japan kicked french out of vietnam and then Japan retreated due to US nukes, France tried to make vietnam it's colony again but failed this time due to vietnamese realising that white people are not invincible due to the japanese invasion/occupation. Ho Chi Minh wanted to be ally with US, in exchange, he'll help fight the imperialist japan at the time, but US denied due to pressure from France not being ally with US if the alliance with VN and US were to happen. Then there was fear of domino effect, and the US fabricated an event which supposedly a north vietnamese vessel attacked a US vessel, which upon modern investigation was found out to be a coax, which was the lie that gave US a green flag to intervene in south east asia. The Geneva Accords of 1954, which were aimed at resolving the conflict in Vietnam. As part of these accords, it was agreed that Vietnam would be temporarily divided along the 17th parallel, with the North controlled by the communist forces led by Ho Chi Minh and the South controlled by the anti-communist forces led by President Ngo Dinh Diem. The accords also stipulated that there would be a nationwide election in 1956 to reunify the country under a single government. However, this election never took place. The United States and the government of South Vietnam, led by President Diem, were concerned that if the election happened, Ho Chi Minh and the communists would likely win, given Ho Chi Minh's popularity in the country. As a result, the election was not held, and the division between North and South Vietnam became more permanent. This contributed to the escalation of tensions and eventually led to the Vietnam War. The division lasted until the reunification of North and South Vietnam in 1976, with the establishment of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The reason why all these bad things happen is due to US culture of villainize without going into context and understanding people's perspective(just like in most marvel plot, it's just heroes vs villain who mostly have bad/simple motives into harming others). All this could've been avoided, and even today, vietnam is quite pro-american despite not being under US control, it's just that vietnamese don't like foreign forces to govern their own people. Vietnamese were vietnamese first, and communist second at the time, communism was just used as a tool to push out imperialism/foreign forces.

The level of education in Singapore is second to none, which explains why they have become one of the leading developed countries in the world. Last year I flew from Singapore to San Francisco (where I have been before, many times even). I'm Chinese Malaysian. In the 1980s, my sister went to Chicago to study for her degree. Her American friends and classmates used to ask her where Malaysia was. Even after drawing simple maps, they couldn't really place where Malaysia was. Finally, as it was only a decade after the Vietnam War, she asked them, do you know where Vietnam is? If they replied yes, she will say that Malaysia is below Vietnam. Another popular question she was asked was if Malaysians still live in the jungle and in tree houses? She will reply yes, and that the American Ambassador lives next door to us in a nice tree house! And they believe it! Americans are really geographically challenged, and for many, the USA is the centre of the world. P.S. Just to add that even some 3 decades later, Americans still seem to be geographically challenged. In 2019, my wife and I were at Yangoon International Airport, queuing for immigration check to enter Myanmar. Next to us in another line, was this middle-aged American couple. To the amusement and laughter of the mainly Asian tourists around them, the husband was insisting quite loudly to his wife, that Myanmar was part of China, and that they were in China!
I think it’s hard for Americans to understand because the size of their country. My home country an island nation can fit inside a few of the states I imagine. I live in Texas but if something happens in New York or Atlanta they ask me if I’m close to it and if it’s okay. When something does happen in my states they think I’m to far away from it because the sheer size of the country. American’s aren’t geologically challenged they know where England is, Canada, Mexico etc. my mom knows where Korea is, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan etc. it’s just a matter of where you grew up, what languages you speak. As well as how the relationship of language and culture means to you. My mom has no idea where Iran is in relation to Iraq I’m not sure I do. We don’t speak Farsi, Urdu, or even Arabic. So these places to us don’t mean much so why would it matter to know where they are? I know general locations of places like South Africa, Mauritius, the horn of east Africa. Asks me to name major cities of Africa and I may get some right and some wrong. It’s simple cultural understanding.

Hearings in the USA is more or less a show trial. They want to hear what he says on as many topics as possible, so they can attack him on any inconsistencies they might find. The Senator may occasionally throw in some personal comment like the coincidence in appointment to position of CEO, but it's still mostly just bullet point checking the boxes. They're there to catch you on anything they can find, not to listen to facts, much like the American legal system, which is why for normal courts defendants have the right to silence and a lawyer.
@@306316 that’s illuminating. That would explain why he formulated questions that way. It isn’t for the asker to be correct (he can be very well wrong) but it’s for the person being questioned not to make mistakes.
Why is he blaming TikTok For the suicide. He should blame the country instead, for giving the Victims harsh environment to let it happen. Aka. crime, racism, Identity crisis etc.
Eh, I can understand why he's asking so many specific questions. As a fictional example, if I told a British exporter during the Cold War Era that I thought tea was mud and preferred coffee, it might give away my preference for American food staples or World War 2 rations. Although this might not mean I'm American, it could indicate I no longer participate in a culturally acceptable practice or tradition. As another example, I recently spoke with an Afghanistan War veteran whose emergency plan in the event of societal collapse was to move to some remote caves in New Hampshire or Vermont with his guns and hunt for his food. I get the hunting idea came from his US military survival training as per his own admission, but why live in a cave? Why live in some caves? The Americans refer to this psychological and behavioral change as "going native". As a victim of a US brainwashing programme, I can personally attest that even diet can change for people subjected to enhanced interrogation and conditioning. I used to be able to eat normal food like a normal person. Now I'm on a restricted diet due to the severity of the stomach issues caused by the stress of the multiple assaults against my person.
Because this is a foreign app and they need to investigate that it doesn't have political enemy ties. It's fair. The sad part is that the politicians doing the questioning are not educated.

As long as you can be louder than the other one, people can only hear your story
The senators only have 5 minutes to question. The witnesses know this. The witnesses ALWAYS try to filibuster "yes or no" questionsso they eat that 5 mind away. They rightfully cut them off.

so this is what a "hearing" looks like in USA.. i can only hear the so called 'senator' speaks but refuse to hear..
This is a hearing
Hearings in the USA is more or less a show trial. They try to list as many questions as possible rapid fire to make the questioned reveal as much information as they can, then go back and get the FBI or whatever investigation team to look into the validity of every one of those answers.

Is Tik Tok CEO running for any political offices/positions in USA? If not, why would he even needs to answer any of those political questioning?
The CEO is answering to Animals.

No one is obligated to share their opinion nor is it possible for citizens of either China or Singapore to obtain dual citizenship. Its too much to expect a US senator to know that.
You clearly didn't watch the beginning where this guy openly admitted that TikTok and their parent company are subject to the 2017 chinese law which forces them to turn over any and all demanded data (for users or other data) to the CCP. This means that children's data from every country that allows the app is handed over without a single qualm or prevention. No warrants. No court approvals. Just immediate kowtowing and handing it over to the CCP.
