Yep, I can vouch for this👍 Coffee mug, pinch of salt and pepper, coupla drops vinegar, 3/4 fill with boiling water, crack in egg, 60 secs in 800w microdiddle....perfect poached eggs with runny yolks...guaranteed!
90 seconds for two mugs/two eggs.

Between the air fryer method which involves oil, water, 8 or 9 minutes cooking time, scrubbing the baked on oil after you have eaten your poached egg!!! The microwave method is the way to go, been doing this for years, thumbs up Darren👍

I do scrambled eggs in the microwave. Just put the eggs in a cup, whisk them up, 30 seconds take out give it another whisk and put in for another 10 seconds or so (depending on your microwave) 🥚🥚🥚👍

Hi Darren I'll maybe try it one day,so so many different ways to poach an egg,I've tried the ones you don't use water smear butter on ceramic cup put lid on then microwave its either under done or explodes in the experimental stage till you nail it,even depends on size of your egg.

I remember asking my son to boil me 2 eggs a couple of years ago as I needed protein. I told him what to do but when he brought them to me they were just slush. He’d boiled a kettle and poured it into the saucepan where the eggs were and after 4 minutes or so he assumed that was it. That was his first attempt at cooking, thankfully he’s got so much better although he really doesn’t enjoy it. He gave me a good laugh though

In 1982 my mum died unexpectably. My two brothers lived abroad and my sister had two young kids. I came up to dad's house from university with little cooking skills. Went to the deep freeze, found a bag of something. Turned out it was brains. I grilled the F out of them for myself and dad. On eating them I had the presence of mind to comment, "well that's the second thing we've burned today.''😳

I've been poaching eggs in tea mugs for years. You just rub a bit of olive oil on the inside to avoid any sticking. Usually put it on a lower setting for around 20 seconds. If you go full power you will end up with a hard yolk in a few seconds.

Even better, use the exact method you have just described but close the cling film into a little wrapper and drop it into a small pan of Boiling Water. Two mins later, lift out, cut the top off the cling film and pour your egg onto your Toast. Perfect every time. You can even do them in advance and reheat them in a cup of Hot Water 👍👍

If you make a large amount of eggs, take equal amounts of vinegar and water in a big bowl, crack your eggs into it and wait 10 minutes until the outside of the white has set (don't go over 10 minutes or you risk your eggs tasting of vinegar). Poach them in hot/almost boiling water (bubbles on the bottom of the pot) for 3 minutes. That's the trick they use in restaurants when making a lot of poached eggs to order.

If it’s underdone, like my first attempt, just give it 5-10 second blasts til you get there. I so wanted this to work, but physics will have it's way. It nearly works, but does not really solve the problem that in a microwave the yoke cooks faster than the white. I can see that between 50 and 60 seconds there is a sweet-spot where the white is nearly cooked -- still slightly snot-like -- and the yoke is mostly runny. I want that perfect poached egg, and this fall short for me, though happy for those who embrace it. Thanks for sharing my perfidiousness seems to place me in the minority

@@TelThePower Hello Terry. I understand. In fact I make more scrambled eggs than any other type of egg. I don't use milk , just butter , black pepper ,maybe cheese sometimes and mix in a dollop on full fat mayonnaise at the end . The mayonnaise makes it rich and you will last for hours not wanting to eat anything. Whatever works for you and makes you happy , I say go for it . I'm good thank you .I hope you are too sweet xx 😘

What wattage microwave is this, bc I have a 1250 watt and I have to guess at lowering the power.

been doing this since 1983 - also plop a little butter in the water to give the egg that rich taste that can be achieved using poaching cups.
How many years were you in the food business? I'm pulling your chain a bit but didn't you ever learn how to use a knife 😀! Pulling at your toast that way.
I also leave the egg to stand for 10 secs before opening the microwave.
    👍good to find your channel

I have tried every method I have ever heard of so I’ll have to try this one ! so I’m going to have to get a cup !
also, does the timing change if I use two or more cups/eggs ? I think we should be told !
I don’t have a toaster, which is why I have a cooker with an eye level grill ! (no it isn’t I hate toasters)
PS does it make a difference if your cups are stonewear ?

Had one a hour before bed. Yum-yum!👍Takes longer to toast the bread. 3 minute meal tops!

That is the most effort put into toasting a slice of bread that I have ever seen.

Good idea for a quick 'egg-ding' but I prefer the control of an open pan, once that microwave door is shut you've lost control of your egg. :)
