I bought these some 15 yrs ago. To poach an egg you have to experiment with power settings and time intervals. They work for scrambled eggs. I still butter the holders for best results. I also use them for flour products.
I've got an old version. In truth I've never tried to poach an egg in it. I use it for boiled eggs. Sometimes I'm making tuna salad or other dish where I need a non fancy looking boiled egg. Pull out the device, spray a bit of pam on it. Drop in an egg and with a fork I gently press it into the yolk to keep it from exploding. Time depends on the microwave. For my current one it takes one minute on high to get an egg that has the yolk done all the way through. I chop it up and use it as a boiled egg.
For a similar device in UK, you 1/3rd fill with water, microwave for 60 seconds, add egg and microwave for 30 seconds. You have to experiment with those values. 🇬🇧🏴
Thank you Matt. I microwave my poached egg in a Pyrex 4oz glass dish, about 50-60 seconds. My microwave is a 700 watt. I do put water in the dish too .adjust time as needed.
@@IWantToCook Matt, same method makes a beautiful “over easy” type fried egg. I just butter a small dessert or saucer type dish and microwave about the same amount of time. Without water
You can do the same thing with a bowl that's sprayed with Pam.
I love my egg poaching pan. It's an oldie, but works great

What is the difference between a poached and boiled egg?

Thanks saved me 10 minutes 😮🙈
The reason people are afraid to poach eggs is because foodies keep making this more complicated than it needs to be.
EXACTLY!!!

Good to know! That method should also alleviate concerns for those not wanting to use plastic such as this device. Thanks for sharing. 👍

Our grocery store does not have any eggs!
One of my local ones was completely out recently, too, and eggs in stock at others have seen a drastic price increase. It’s a tough situation.
I liked this video, Because i like experiments . These tools is useful , And thank you for safety tips 🎉

Well Done Sir, Very Enjoyable, Kiddos liked it as well
Thank you very much! Happy cooking 🙌
Reason why we cannot do perfect poached eggs is because the eggs we buy at most supermarkets are so old
I think that the mystery item is horseradish, though it looks bigger than what I’ve seen locally.
I would put oil or butter in the container

Personally you have more control with the traditional method (and there are arguments on that)
Indeed.

What wattage is used for these demo's ?
I believe my microwave is a small, 700-watt unit, and I used full power.
The trivia item looks to me like a horse radish root. I don't care for poached eggs so I never make them. I like my yolks cooked!
Heated Plastic is a nono. But the poached in your stainless pans is a HUGE YUM.
It is Apio in Spanish...not sure in English...my. bad 🙊
My microwave egg poacher uses water. They are actually poached.
The reason I don't like to poach eggs in a pot of water is I want 2 eggs and that does not work with the stirring method.
Trivia: Horseradish.

Oh he gobbled many afterward. Don’t let his begging face fool ya, lol. 😂
Don't apologize. Crack your eggs anyway you want.
