I gotta say - that's very impressive! Too bad it can't repair dings too - lol. Aside from that - it does what it does great! It's definitely on my Detailing Supplies Bucket List now! Thanx for the demonstration.
I tried this stuff on my car, if you have a scratch it will NOT remove it. It will remove extremely light blemishes like paint transfers etc. I have a few scratches (pretty light ones too) and this stuff did absolutely NOTHING. I'm going to return it for my full refund and it's guaranteed.
I don't believe he even had scratches. Looked like a scuff mark from a cart or even paint off another vehicle smeared. So any abrasive would get the scuff off his clearcoat. Be sure to add some wax to that area or your clear might start peeling 5 years from now since you most likely removed any wax that was on your clearcoat protecting it.
100% right on the money. I just love how so many folks on here (or elsewhere) seem to think that there are ‘magic bullets’ which solve all manner of things so quickly and easily, whereas this is rarely (if ever) the case. Take my car, for instance. Last December, I bought a very nice, one-owner, very well-maintained 2012 Toyota Camry SE which is damn near perfect but for one teeny-tiny thing: it has a very small, thin, j-shaped scratch on the upper portion of its left rear door. Mind you, it’s really not too visible at all unless you’re up close and personal with it, but being OCD, it’s been the bane of my existence ever since I drove that car off the lot. Seeing as how I finally want to address, I purchased a bottle of this stuff yesterday at Wally World for $10. So here’s my line of thinking: if I can use just this, a microfiber applicator pad, a clean microfiber towel, and good old-fashioned elbow grease to remove that little bane of my existence successfully, great. If not, I’ll simply ‘go up the ladder’ and bust out my 3” pistol buffer, a couple microfiber polishing bonnets, my Meguiars Compound and Meguiars Polish, my Mothers Ceramic Spray Wax (seeing as how the rest of the car already has a ceramic coating), and simply do a ‘traditional’ spot paint correction, which should do the trick. Barring that, the only other thing that really could work is if I would do a full-on paint correction/detailing for the entire vehicle (eg, wash->clay->compound with 6” buffer->polish with 6”buffer->ceramic coating with 2+ microfiber towels and/or 6” buffer), which is really what I should have done in the first place, tbh. Still, being a really busy guy during the work week, I can kind of see where this stuff has its appeal. I guess I’ll have to try it out and see what happens…🤷🏼♂️🚘
I just bought the scratch doctor. Did you have paint transfer or was it just a scratch I couldn’t tell. But a couple hours ago I scratched my car on one of the cart/ carriages returns at Walmart. I was parked right next to it didn’t realize it went to go turn scratched my right side of the car
I had some minute, non penetrating "micro scratches" on my '17 BMW X5 front drivers quarter panel that I found after parking in a congested lot in Providence, RI while on vacation. The suspect auto besides me had four bikes on the back and I thought this is not good but there we no other spaces. FAST FORWARD: I bought a jar of Nu Finish Scratch doctor and applied the solution specifically as it stated. Prepped the area and applied with a micro cloth wax applicator. After a little elbow grease and drying, removing, it did practically nothing. so, I looked over my vehicle, that I keep immaculate, and tired it again. No finger nail catching on the scratch, smooth to the touch and once again, it did nothing. So watching this video and reading the comments, did I get a bottle of mystery Scratch Doctor, were the stars not aligned in my favor, was Nu Finish playing a joke on me, has Karma come back to haunt me???. IT DID NOTHING!!! I even took it back to Advance Auto, had the rep come outside and proceeded to tackle one more small scratch, per the instructions. I learned to read in elementary school, NO JOKES PLEASE, so I followed the instructions/application as he watched. DID NOT WORK IN FRONT OT HIM. So a refund and now I'm on the search for a product that will work. Or, maybe the makers of Nu Finish Scratch Doctor would like to come to my home and try it on me X5. If someone would like to recommend a product that will work, please let me know! I'm all ears and elbows!
When you are sponsored do they send you a special formula that works miracles that the formula from Walmart doesn't? Because what I purchased off the shelf at the store does not do a dorn thing. It did not take out even the most barely visible swirl marks, let alone a scratch. Who conducted the study that generated their slogan "#1 BEST SELLLING..."? I can sell a million bottles of air and claim it will take out scratches, and it will end up being the #1 selling bottle of air for that day, but I guarantee no one will ever buy it again, and I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that I will never buy this crap again. What I did buy went right in the trash where it belonged
The birds chirping was the best part lol

I have not tried, but I probably would try it. If you do, let us all know if it works.

Cutting compound and then buff.
