    Nice to see someone who knows what they are talking about. I have question and a problem. Q) What is the purpose of the fleece ? Problem: Tried so many ways to get rid of thatch over the past two seasons and failed . Now the grass hardly grows at all. So frustrating that now I am even willing to let meadow grass grow !

    Great to see a professional doing things well.
    Scalped and scarified my lawn a month ago, did the feed and seed all over two weeks ago and oversown thin patches with seed and top dressed them this morning. I am in West Midlands with a really difficult lawn in total shade all the time at one end and baking sun at the other. It is still a bit cool here in the mornings, but the grass has really started growing now in teh last fortnight and going to get feed and care all summer. Now I just have to get the nematodes sorted to kill the leatherjackets.

    I'm SE Canada much farther south compared to you but it seems to be a similar climate to you. That's a good point about disease if you mix together a lot of seed. I've done that thinking it gives it more of a chance since it seems like only 1% of the seed grows. I bought a SunJoe scarifier and it's made a big difference in only one season. Top dress is hard to find in my region compost by the bag would bankrupt me even for my 20'x20' yard.

    Another great video and agree "only the best" forks for the lawn! Any thoughts on how bad a lawn needs to be to completely re-lay? My elderly neighbour's lawn is laid on a bed of sand (years ago probably when built in '66) there's virtually no soil or grass in it! I've heavily scarified it n fed - it's 25sqm. Would lots of aeration and top soil before overseeding make a difference or does it just need ripping up n starting again?

    Hi Daniel, great video! I've just moved to a new house and a quarter of the lawn is covered in weeds and weed grasses. Should I just scalp and scarify, or dig the whole section out and level it with sand/compost mixture?

    • @DanielHibbertLawnExpert
      @DanielHibbertLawnExpert  Рік тому +1

      New build syndrome, its never gonna come good so just scarifying and scalping will not help will just exacerbate the situation as yoir encouraging the weed grasses to griw more, the latter sounds a better option but you will have two lawns then unless you can get the same seed used by the turf grower

    • @BarnzMiSeh
      @BarnzMiSeh Рік тому
