Using a flat-head screwdriver, depress the bottom clip in the center, nearest the metal bracket it hooks on to. Do the same for the top clip. While they are depressed, you’ll want to wiggle and push on the plug (pushing towards the rear of the truck) until it pops loose.

I am trying to get the hitch out of the receiver. It is so rusty that I can't even remove the hitch pin with a sledge.
