Mandalore The Ultimate (GREAT) - Fully Explained in The Mandalorian S3

- Mandalore the Ultimate, was the leader of the Mandalorian people during the Mandalorian Wars. Born on the planet Mandalore and as a member of the Taung species, he was trained for war from a young age. He became the leader of the Mandalorian Crusaders and led them into battle against the Old Republic. He was known for his red cape, battle armor, and helmet, which once belonged to Mandalore the Indomitable.
Mandalore the Ultimate was considered one of the most powerful warriors of his time and tended to fight with overwhelming force and war droids. He was one of the last Taung to claim the Mandalore title and was known to some as the "Great Shadow Father" He sought to lift his people from the hole of betrayal and humiliation that plagued them since the Great Sith War
With highly advanced equipment and weapons he dominated the battle field. He wore an armor made of Mandalorian iron, also known as Beskar, that was highly resistant to blaster fire, lightsabers, and other types of attacks. He carried a personalized helmet that had a long T-shaped visor and a jetpack that allowed him to fly through the air. His primary weapon was a customized Mandalorian ripper, a melee weapon that could cut through almost anything with ease
The Ripper was a large vibrosword that he carried with him during battles. It was a symbol of Mandalore the Ultimate's leadership and prowess in battle.
Mandalore the Ultimate had a strong mentality towards Mandalorians. He saw them as the greatest warriors in the galaxy and believed that they should be united under his leadership to conquer the galaxy. He was highly respected by the Mandalorians, who saw him as a leader who could bring them glory and honor. He was also known to be highly intelligent and strategic, able to make decisions that would lead his army to victory.
Mandalore the Ultimate disliked the Jedi, as most Mandalorians did, he saw Jedi as weak and inferior to Mandalorians. He believed that the Jedi Order was holding the galaxy back and needed to be eliminated.
His strong disdain for the Jedi due originated from their interference in the Mandalorian Wars.
The Jedi Order, who were opposed to the Mandalorian aggression and the war they waged on the Galactic Republic, intervened in the conflict by supporting the Republic's forces. This intervention ultimately resulted in the defeat of the Mandalorians. Mandalore viewed the Jedi as meddlers and interfering do-gooders who prevented the Mandalorians from achieving their goals. Additionally, the Mandalorians held the belief that the Jedi's use of the Force was a cheap trick and not a true measure of strength. Mandalore's hatred for the Jedi may also have been fueled by a sense of pride and honor, as the Mandalorians saw themselves as superior warriors and resented being defeated by those they deemed inferior.
Mandalore the Ultimate engaged in a one-on-one battle with the Jedi Knight Revan on the planet's surface. The details of the fight are unclear, but it is known that Mandalore was killed in battle, and his helmet was taken by Revan as a trophy.
His death was a turning point for the Mandalorian people, who were forced to retreat and eventually lost the war. Despite this, Mandalore the Ultimate is remembered as a hero and a symbol of Mandalorian strength and honor
During his reign, Mandalore the Ultimate changed Mandalorian culture in significant ways. He created the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders, a military force that brought the Mandalorian people together and allowed them to conquer other worlds. He also implemented a new code of honor for the Mandalor
Now Mandalore the Great was a Mandalorian leader who held the title of Mandalore in The Mandalorian show on Disney plus. He led a series of conflicts against the Jedi Order in ancient times. By the time of the New Republic, the Jedi had become a myth, though the battles between Mandalore the Great and the Jedi were known to some Mandalorians through ancient songs. He was known to have rode into battle riding a mythosaur, leading the mandalorians. It is is said whoever can tame the mythosaur beast and ride it into battle again one day, will lead all of Mandalore once again.

The original Mandalorian‘s are so amazing.
The orignal Mandalorian idea is Boba Fett.
@@LukiKruki you know what they meant
If only.swt talked about it
@@LukiKruki Don't be stupid.
Maybe. But the Jedi order didn't support the Republic, actually. Reven defied the Jedi counsel and led his followers to war against the Mandalorians. That is a critical piece in the lore.
I want to see this character in live-action so bad heck any characters from the Old Republic like Revan, Malak or the Exile would be a treat, especially if the setting is during the Mandalorian Wars with Revan leading his Revanites against the Mandalorians and all of it leading to the epic duel between him and Mandalore.

Too bad you will get more Rey and Memberberries.
As long as they keep the legends versions. Revan - male, Exile -Female. And hopefully they change the Exile's fate. Her story arch after KOTOR 2 ended was pathetic,
EU is so much cooler 😭

I would love a series of how the Taungs settled Mandalore after being exiles from coruscant. watching them tame the mythosaurs and develop the creed would be sick
A fresh theory video right out of the oven. Happy Saturday all you Jedis, Mandalorians, and even some of you Sith out there.
It is the way.

You know nothing about the power of the dark side of the force!!
Wait... isn't the plural of "jedi", just "jedi"?
5:22 Mandalorians do be salty tho, like “brooo that’s cheating”😂
Mandalore The Ultimate was also a master brick layer.
He was also forklift certified
He collected screws too. He loved screws. Some say he had over 5000 beskar screws integrated into his armor.
Seeing the Mythosaur still blows me away

@NotEveryonesBad it was literally in the show
@@noteveryonesbad3912it was you could see it’s silhouette
Mandalore the First, was presumably the first to kill the Mythosaur. He carved the Helmet of Mandalore from its bones. Whoever wears that helmet, is recognized by all their clans as the rightful ruler of Mandalorian people.
Mandalore the Indomitable, led the first crusade that the Jedi had to intervene in. The former Jedi turned Sith Lord Exar Kun stopped him and convinced him to join him in his Great Sith War. The Jedi defeated them.
Mandalore the Ultimate, led the Neo Mandalorian Crusade and opened it up for all species to become Mandalorians. He was stopped by Revan and the Revanchists Jedi. Afterwards, Revan hide the Helmet of Mandalore’, which ended their crusades and divided their clans.
Mandalore the Preserver, after Revan gave him the helmet of Mandalore, reunited the clans and changed their code of honor.
A few centuries before the Prequels, a new Mandalore tried to start another crusade which was promptly put down by the Jedi. The Helmet of Mandalore was presumably lost. Not all of the Mandalorians were on board with the future pacifist leadership on Mandalore.
Mandalore the Great is likely just an agglomeration of all of their Mandalore’s from ancient times. A composite character who exemplified all of the great accomplishments of previous Mandalores and none of the bad. More myth than factual.
I just want a Kotor tv show. It would really change Star Wars right now and move away from the Skywalker saga.
So true we need that rather than rehashing clone wars and original trilogy all the time
I swear dave feloni just sneaking legends material in the back door on disney all the time I love it.
The only thing I wish in mando s3 that someone will mention the great mandalorian war, mandalore the ultimate and Revan
yes thats all the lore i would require
yea im still waiting for them to mention them ever since Season 1.
Revan needs to be talked about. He was one of the greatest force users.
Na, leave Revan out of it. This is still Disney and better to not bastardize him.
It would be cool if at some point mando or Bo-katan find his mask
How did Mandalorians become so powerful in physical combat to be able to kill Force users?
They are trained assassins from birth
Probably just constant training, plus 'mandalorian iron' is super resistant against lightsabers so that would give them a massive advantage too
plus through years of training and combat experience, they also learned that most Force users, Jedi and Sith, like to move around and made most use of their limbs.
To counter that is by immobilizing them which is why they have grappling wire or hooks
Yes, they developed their weaponry to target the weaknesses of the Jedi, or at least, focused on weaponry types that were difficult for Jedi to block.
Slug throwers... a lot of them
Mando and Bo will reunite Mandalore!
Ridiculous. They don't even have access to the Polynesia Spa. Only Boba does.
I'd love that. Bo-Katan is my favourite Mandalorian.
we need a kotor show ASAP
Kotor movie with Keanu reeves as revan
We're getting a remake of the game if saber interactive doesn't screw it
On the one hand, I've been dreaming about this for years. On the other hand, we all know Disney would screw this up. Only shows that we hadn't cared about at the beginning were good - Mando, Andor, Rogue One. We all wanted Boba, Kenobi, new trilogy - all screwed up.
@@yaqbec23 honestly pisses me off the minor stories and characters get good treatment and the big ones that deserve quality don't get it
No we don’t
i think its not the Ultimate. prob more like mandalore the First. excerpt from wookiepedia: "Under Mandalore the First, the Taung tamed the savage landscape of the newly christened planet Mandalore, slaughtering the gigantic Mythosaurs that had made the world their home." i have no clue why so many people think in the show they keep mentioning the Ultimate when the story doesnt fit. also the Ripper was actually slugthrower pistol, the Ultimate melee weapon was simply called Mandalore's battle-axe.
I think Favreau just made up a new ancient Mandalorian leader called Mandalore the Great who has some features of other Mandalorian leaders like Mandalore the Ultimate (an enemy of the Jedi) and Mandalore the First (who dealt with the Mythosaur). If Favreau wanted it to be Mandalore the Ultimate why wouldn't he just call him that? Consider his style too, he likes to make new characters based off old ones, so it would make sense that Mandalore the Great isn't Mandalore the Ultimate. That doesn't mean they can't both have existed though. I like to think all of those ancient Mandalorians existed, including Cassus Fett, but it's realistic to think that over thousands of years the history of the people and culture became so revised and incomplete; characters like Kuiil learned through stories they read - the Armorer through the songs of eons past, information passed down through generations of Mandalorians, and thus why an ancient native creature of Mandalore like the Mythosaur might have been dismissed as fiction/legend - although it is funny how Kuiil took it as fact the mythosaur existed whereas many mandalorians doubted it.
I believe in Canon, Mandalore The Great was the ruler of the Mandalorians before Mandalore The Ultimate.
The Mandalorian Ripper was a name for their specialized blasters, not just the giant battleaxe. Tbh I have never seen the battle axe referred to as the Ripper but I could be wrong.
Think they can be the same. You get into mudding the waters even with a ultimate/ great name. We have seen enough of overstepping a story line.
Every time Disney copies characters from the expanded universe, those copies end up being more mediocre versions of the originals. But what to expect from Disney, right? Diversity for them is more important than quality content.
True. And it's even more sad that these toned down versions are still better than their new characters. Thrawn was the best character in Rebels by far.
@@georgehouliaras7239 True. I still remember when Mandalore the Ultimate Slapped Alek/Malak aside and then proceeded to drop a lethal roast on Saul Karath by telling that his axe was forged using the metal of Saul's flagship "Courageous".
YES! Very cool video! I’ve been curious about this guy!!
I think if the last couple years or so of Jon and Dave's writing they like to borrow from legends they kind of pluck what they like out of legends and incorporate it into the story which I love personally and I think that's what's gonna happen here aswell it'll be a mix of new and old pulled together
I don’t like it at all because it always ends up being surface level and half @55ed
@@Bigkingmonster408 true but it could be worse. Think Mandalore The Ultimate the bestest evar Mary Sue. Courtesy of KK and her Force is Female band of flying monkeys. So I'll take what Dave and Jon are doing any day.
@Rekt it will never be as deep as we want because disney is a corporation and the producers make decisions based on advancing their career and not to make the product better. Dave and Jon are established and have more leverage to push back stupid producer changes and edits. Every bad decision we have seen in star wars is calculated to try to make more money. George Lucas had a lot of reasons to leave but he said one of the biggest reasons is not being able to tell the stories he wants because corporations control so much of the industry
Its one of those instances where the book will always be better than the movie. If they fleshed out all the Arthurian legends and Biblical king stories on screen, the show would be impossible to make. They'd have to write like 100 2-hour long episodes and still leave stuff out.
I know that Mandalor the Ultimate is a originally a separate idea, but i thought Mandalor the Great was more of a prophecy that we would see Dinn fullfill throughout the seasons of The Mandalorian.
Mandalore the ultimate is one of my all time favorite Star Wars characters. I know there isn’t much information on him, but everytime I see a new video on him I rejoice.
I just complete my own Mandalore the ultimate cosplay and there are videos of it on my channel
So much disney could bring to the big screen and tv shows that could be made from these era's. Great video theory.
mandalore the ultimate is not mandalore the great, if they are basing "the great" off of a legends mandalore its probably canderous ordo (mandalore the preserver)
If one they made a video game of the Mandolor vs jedi war. To have the jedi as the villains would be such a cool different point of view
could let the player make choices and play from either side
Love your legands lore vids, so awesome

day 64 (of 822) of asking theory to play the star wars battlefront mod on Contractors VR!
I'm really torn between wanting to see Revan..and hoping they dont touch/ruin him
As a Legends “true Star Wars canon” fan, I’m pretty certain there was a Mandalore The Great who existed prior to Mandalore The Ultimate rising to power. There was also Mandalore The Conqueror and a few others from that time period as well. I also remember that the Mythosaur was an insignia reserved only for the Mandalore; which is why Boba had the insignia on his armor in Retorn of the Jedi because he was technically Mandalore in the Legends continuity at that time.
More likely Mandalore the Conqueror. He was the one who started expanding territories. Seems a bit off Mandalore the Ultimate going around on a Mythosaur in the Old Republic era, with the technology at that time. More likely back when they were still primitive using more melee based weapons and the Jedi Order was in their infancy?
Yep, very true.
This video was uploaded 3 mins ago, but I can confirm it is a SWT classic
I give bad feed back on long commercials especially back t back!
Mandalore and Great, and Mandalore the Ultimate are two different characters.
Mandalore the Great was the first Mandalorian to tame the Mythosaur, and became the first ever ruler of Mandalore. Many thousands of years before the Jedi vs. Mandalorian conflict.
Mandalore the Ultimate, was the Mandalore in charge during the Jedi vs. Mandalorian War.
I didn’t know the mandalorian helmets are made by Tesla.
I want another, "History Lesson" moment like Dume gave Wren.
Theory, again you're wrong. Mandalor The Great (The First) and The Ultimate are 2 different characters. The Great was the first Mandalor to tame a Mythosour. The ultimate was the first to unite the clans against the Republic to start the Mandalorian Wars. The Great predates The Ultimate by a few thousand years. The last few video's you've been making on the subject have been wrong.
@Gorthaur Look, I love Theory but yeh, just rubs me the wrong way when he starts talking Old Republic. 😅 Just not a topic he knows much about.
Who need force, if you have flamethrower?
What if the Armorer calls Tarre Viszla Mandalore the great?
Lets go new Theory vid! Thanks Theory love the channel
Dave filoni get in contact with Alexander dreymon he would be the perfect revan he's finishing up the last kingdom he would be looking for a new role soon

We want KOTOR! KOTOR! KOTOR!
is he the guy revan slapped around
1:22 The Helmet Mask of "Mandalore" was carved from Mythasor Bones and Worn by "Mandalore The 1st" founder of "The Mandalorian creed," and the Mask was a simble of Leadership of all Mandalorian clans, like the Darksaber!!!
Until Revan took it and hid it.
You mistaken what Mandalorian Rippers are and the details around Mandalore the Ultimate's weapon, you're thinking of an Beskad with that description with heavy modifications that is interesting thought but I'm confused where you got some of those details. The Mandalorian Ripper was an projectile weapon usage by the Neo-Crusaders and it was quite the dangerous weapon that it did as its named for, ripping through people even through shields, these are energy propelled slugthrower bullets being shot out.
"The ripper was highly versatile and upgradeable. When properly modified and in the hands of a capable marksman, they proved devastating to opponents. They also ignored personal shielding, giving the wielder an advantage in ranged combat if both combatants were shielded."
Mandalore's weapon is an Mythosaur war axe that was made from a Republic warship, the Courageous, after the Mandalorians victory in Secrroco and it become an symbol of Mandalore's prowess.
"Recognize this axe? It was forged from your so-called Courageous-when we began melting it down for scrap!" Mandalore the Ultimate mocking Admiral Saul Karath.
And honestly, Mandalore the Ultimate didn't despise Force Wielders, he afterall had brought in a former Jedi Council member into his armies who created the Mandalorian Knights, approved to funding towards Demagol's experiments on Jedi captives for his project to create his own project. There were certainly Neo-Crusaders that did held that view in believing the Jedi weak without the Force but the Ultimate had a different viewpoint.
Overall while decent video, just need get into more depth with some things there.

MANDO LORE FROM MAN OF LORE ABOUT MANDALORE
I would love a "what if" of what would have happened if Mandalor had won the mandalorian wars it would have been a DRASTICALLY different universe
I'd be interested in seeing how a Mandalorian-dominated Galaxy would've handled the Yuuzhan Vong invasion
Would love to see an episode where Din finds a Neo-Crusader Mandalorian armour piece, or he finds a fellow Mandalorian wearing old Neo-Crusader armour
If Mandalorian the great is the cannon version if Mandalorian the ultimate it’ll be a huge waste the character from the old EU. If true, then what’s stopping them from changing other beloved characters such as Revan, Sion, Starkiller or anyone else of that character?
Starkiller is literally just a power fantasy.
@@Skiritai The comics are less insane. Still powerful, but less.
"I have heard tidings of war between Mand'Alor The Great, and an order of sorcerers called Jedi." - The Armorer
Another improtant thing that we learn from KOTOR 2 is that the mask of the mandalor that Revan took was their symbol of power (just like darksaber rn). There were still thousends of madalorians after battle of Malachor V, but they could not chose a new leader because of the lack of mask. That also shows how wise Revan was to learn and uderstand thier culture kinda similiar to Thrawn
Personally, I think that Mandalore the Great is an agglomeration of ancient Mandalores, perhaps based more on legend than, than historical. Creating this mythical figure responsible for all of the amazing deeds of great Mandalores and other Mandalorians, with none of their failures or bad qualities.
If you think about it, the Emperor rewrote history in his attempt to utterly destroy the Jedi, just as the Jedi had done with the Sith to under cut their culture and Force philosophy. And most about what we know of the Mandalorian histories revolves around the Jedi and their wars. Not to mention that the Mandalorians had their culture undermined too as to try to pacify them. So all that they have (all that we have until Lucasfilm rewrites it) is Legends.
Imagine a Movie of Jedi/Darth Revan and the final battle being between Mandalore the Ultimate…. 💯 that would be the greatest scene in movie history
Mandalore was a fking beast empire. No wonder the EMPIRE wanted to destroy it.
anyone else experiencing an unusual amount of ads? like every 45 secs kinda takes me out of what would have been a great vid
Din and Bo-katan will untie the mandalorians (and get all kissy kissy) and Grogu will be Manda'lor the best!!!! :) I HAVE SPOKEN!!!!

Awesome Theory! Thanks
Your view of the Mandalorians viewing the Jedi as weak medlars is incorrect. The Mandalorians viewed the Jedi under Revan as worthy opponents who maid the war even more worth fighting.
Hold on, I though that whoever wielded the Darksaber is supposed to lead the Mandalorians. Now it's also that whoever rides the mythosaur is supposed to lead the Mandalorians. Just how many other ways are there two become the Mandalorian head honcho?
What comics are these from? I'd be VERY interested in snagging them. Love the art style and the chance to read more about the history of these complete b@dsses!
Knowing the guy in charge he's kind of work with this other movie universe and they'll have the same character just a little bit of a slight difference in the adaption. Of course you know this already
I just realized they just repeating the reven story in a way. Legit Palpatine is the true sith emperor working in the shadows and we watching din turn into mandalor the ultimate. Also kylo is reven in this theory.
Mandalore the Great was closer to Mandalore the First than Mandalore the Ultimate
Wow man don't be ashamed to call legends canon as the old eu cuz lucusfilm also calls other non canon things like classic marvel comics and I think the 2 fucking cartoons ewocs and droids legends as well so we just say old eu instead of legends at this point it's just more respectful that way like I ain't a legends fan I'm old eu fan and I only like some things in disney canon
I still believe revan is ultimates child that would add a lot to mandalorian wars besides from the comics and book
If they change ultimates name I will just ignore the Disney down version
I think Mandalore The Great or The Ultimate are neither but possibly one and same just different title names from Canon & Legends, respectively; considering these rumors snd speculations considering (Darth) Revan & (Darth) Malek are mentioned not only on Legends but Canon in the Knights of Old Republic games (that once were legends in the old games & currently being put in the canon as an remake in new games).
isnt great a step down from ultimate. Just call him by the title he deserves
@@AndreNitroX that's an good point especially for example in Digimon (the Japanese version on evolution is opposite in American version such as Mega is actually third most powerful form relating to Ultimate but Ultimate is actually final and deadliest powerful form relating to Mega).

Couldn't Manda' lor the Great simply be either a successor or predecessor to Manda' lor the Ultimate (in the same way that The Ultimate was the successor of The Indomitable)?
Besides, as I understand it, Manda' lor the Great was the original wielder of the darksaber and the first, and only, mandalorian to have become a jedi. I doubt they would have used the ripper or have been critical of force users, were this the case.
torr vizla was the creator of the dark saber, and depending on where he lived during the time lone, shae vizla was a Mandalore herself and then it passed down to pre vizla. So alot of gaps in this new history

Mandalore the great is meant to be the first mandalorian, mandalore the ultimate doesn’t have that claim.
