I saw Ronnie Milsap in concert back in 1987 in Pennsylvania. It was the best concert ever. He never missed a note!!! I was sad to find out about his difficult childhood but he showed the world that dreams really do come true no matter what disability a person may have. I feel very lucky to have been at his concert. I will never forget it!!!

I met Ronnie, his Wife Joyce and his Son Todd many times in my years driving Entertainer Coach for Many Country Bands and Performers. Ronnie is as Down to Earth as you could imagine. I think that Ronnie Milsap is one of the most inspiring musicians I can think of. Being blind and being able to play the piano as beautifully as he can, on top of having the wonderful voice that he has, is just nothing short of amazing. I remember the first time I heard the song Smoky Mountain Rain on the radio: I had never heard of Ronnie, but I knew as soon as I heard that song that I was hooked. Every song I have heard since of Ronnie's is sung straight from the heart, and that's not something you find commonly, especially now. He has 40 #1 songs as well, which is impressive in it's own right. Ronnie Milsap is just one of those 1 in a million performers that truly stand out, and I really hope that more people in my young generation will continue to carry on this legend's legacy and his music.
"Smokey Mountain Rain" was also what hooked me on his music in 1980, then I bought many LPs and CDs of him and and he was my first country concert (and tour program); Alabama was the opening act. I played his "There's No Gettin' Over Me" album yesterday.

his music was played non stop on radio from about late 1980 to late 1982 and the radio waves were full of country music artists that replaced all the disco artists seemingly overnight.

This song 🎶 bring back old memories, still listening in 2023 He have a soulful voice! This is my favorite song 🎶 so tell me are you a fan of Ronnie Milsap…?
I remember when I was about 15 or 16 and had to pretend this song wasn't cool. I absolutely loved it and started looking into his other music and was blown away at his talent. About five years later I found out this guy was blind... I'm like this guy is blind, plays the piano and can sing. Nobody Rocks Country like Ronnie!
ANY SONG(S) OR MUSIC(S) THAT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE I WOULD NEVER PRETEND IT WASN'T COOL ! ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS ANY ONE THAT DOESN'T LIKE THE SONG(S) AND MUSIC(S) THAT I LOVE THAT'S THEIR PROBLEM NOT MINE AND I'D TELL THEM YOU GO AND LISTEN TO WHAT SONG(S) AND MUSIC(S) YOU WANT TO LISTEN TO AND I WILL LISTEN TO WHAT SONG(S) AND MUSIC(S) I WANT TO LISTEN TO.!!! I'D TELL THEM SO WHAT YOU DON'T LIKE THE SONG(S) AND MUSIC(S) THAT I LOVE DOESN'T HURT MY FEELINGS !!!!

Trulia beautiful person you will ever meet or could have ever met inside and out just two broke into stay . She left us more broken but we are still getting to know her. Gone. But not really. Just her body
I'm 44 year's old and Ronnie Milsap has always been my favorite artist since I was a kid...! And he will always be my favorite til the day I die....! :-)
I remember watching Ronnie perform on "Austin City Limits." He loved to play with the audience just like here in this video. At rehearsal, he would count the steps to the edge of the stage, then walk forward during the show and wait for the crowd to gasp thinking he was going to fall. This man is an amazing fearless artist.
Ronnie. You will always be one of the greatests singer songwriters country music has ever had.(.Add on). Ronnie Id like to go on to say,That I believe That God puts words in a man's heart. An how he lives his life is when God's gives the gift of letting him putting those words together..Your heart must be a very big place. Your words come together in beautiful alignment..Meeting you Ronnie would be a honor..God bless
It reminds me of the GLORY ESSENCE of my FATHER'S HEAD! MY HOLY SPIRIT COMFORTER! THE GLORY, BROUGHT SONSHINE, in my LIFE! NOW. I can never loose the long Glory Hair of my NINIVITE Jesus CHRIST MY MESSIAH! I DID NOT miss it..., FOR the WORLD! NOW when the world looses the Bride of CHRIST with ISRAEL, THEN THE SONSHINE Glory. Will be left in a dark dark world. Take away our Restrainer Holy Spirit COMFORTER. NO MORE SONSHINE. FOR THE ONES LEFT BEHIND! ❤❤❤❤😂😂😊🎉
1978 joined the U.S Army at 17, bought CD"s of Barry White, The Commodores, Art Garfunkel, all the greats, then listened to this unbelievable artist, and I was hooked, after hearing Smokey Mountain Rain, a treasure at best, just a belief in a man that can speak the heart..
It was a time when record producers sent scouts out to local fairs, clubs, bars etc looking for talented people who were gaining a following, that allowed the creative freedom that gave us artists like this. Those days are gone, now instead they just hand pick a person, create the image and political agenda they want & promote the hell out of that person everywhere you turn. That's why the music today sucks. No creative freedom.

I am a hard rocker but if there's one guy i think blows them all away it's Ronnie, God bless you i love just about every song of his, & that will never change.
I lost the only women that I really loved. It still hurts after 3 years now. She went back and forth between her ex and me over 4 years twice and I had to say it was over. Extremely painful but I'm not a backup plan or second best. I have to stand my boundaries. She has alot of growing up to do.
Even though Ronnie is singing about a girl. I took care of my mother in law the last 2 years of her life. The only thing I asked of my pathetic ex and his brother was to put this song in her memorial sideshow. Of course they didn't but I'm soooo glad l spent every day with her. I truly wouldn't have missed it for the WOULD

And even more so now that she's gone!!!! Ok, so.... Crying my eyes out again.... Missing my Mom sooooooo so much!!!!! Please.... ANYONE who happens to read this..... Take the time and share experiences with those you love!!!!! Create those special memories you and your loved one can always look back on and smile!!!! There will be a day when that's all you have of them..... Those special memories frozen in your mind!!!!! There's NOTHING I wouldn't give to have my Momma back.... even if only for a moment!!!!!! 😭💔

his music was played non stop on radio from about late 1980 to late 1982 and the radio waves were full of country music artists that replaced all the disco artists seemingly overnight.
My Daddy was killed a month ago. As painful as it has been, listening to Ronnie Milsap and the other bands and music I remember listening to when I was much younger bring me Peace and a smile to my face. I remember singing our hearts out to this song going down the road in his little truck:) I miss you so much Daddy💔until I see you again
I am so sorry for ur loss. Music makes me feel better even if I am just crying through it. Keep the memories always
@@deniseclark9505 Thank you so much! Some days are harder than others and I miss him so much. The music helps me be closer to him:)

Hello ✋ micale how are you doing??
Hello Queen Micale
How're you doing
Thanks for being a fan of my musical craftiness,
It's nice meeting you here
"They say that all good things must end. Love comes and goes just like the wind." Gets me every time.
Funny. I read this right when he was singing it. Universe right on time. ✨
Hearing "They say that all good things must end. Love comes and goes just like the wind," is like a punch to the chest.
"They say that all good things must end. Love comes and goes just like the wind." Is so true. Yes, it happened to me already.
Funny (strange), loss hurts but the feeling of gratitude, takes over... just having that person in my life was an absolute joy & priviledge!
Yes. If we can understand that we have been there it makes sense.
Country at its absolute best. Being grateful rather than heartbroken is the healing process.
Not sure how many people have felt this way I kniw I have Thanku ronnie

What an amazing song...Could always make you teary eyed if you listen too closely...
Ok, I’ll just listen but not too closely. 😂
I was about 17 when I first heard Ronnie and I to was blown away by him!
Here to hear WHY did you have to play like this song WASN'T COOL ?
I'D TELL THEM SO WHAT YOU DON'T LIKE THE SONG(S) AND MUSIC(S) THAT I LOVE DOESN'T HURT MY FEELINGS !!!!
his mother believed the devil cursed her with a blind child and abandoned him in an orphanage as an infant.
I love Ronnie milsap that man can sing a true believer in Ronnie
Romans 10:9 ESV
if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
John 3:16

Hello how are you
@@mandiemag hi
I hope this generation will remember this song and know it as much as my parents taught me
Do your part and share!!
I have always loved this song, from I was a little boy.......the lyrics are timeless......THIS WAS MUSIC....
Me to
How are you doing today?

Ronnie. You will always be one of the greatests singer songwriters country music has ever had.(.Add on).

CD weren't released & available to the public until 1982.
@@blueslime1703 LoL, thanks for the reminder, meant to say cassettes, from the PX , take care
Elvis Presley.. 'Kentucky Rain' is good also.
No creative freedom.
the best at his best.....country music the way it should sound like.......thank you for the awesome posting.....loving it....bless.
So glad i grew up in the 70s, and 80s. Everything was better in those days accept for when i went thru a divorce battle

For all the years Ronnie Milsap has been in the business. He is still a badass.
My Grammy had this played at her funeral. I'm really thinking abotu her today, but it's really how we all felt about her. I wouldn't trade a single memory of her for all the gold in the world.

Great voice, wonderful singer. Los Angeles, California. 1981.
I remember seeing Ronnie preform at the beginning of his career at the Fayette county fair, that evening they announced Smokey Mountain Rain had hit #1 on the charts and the crowd went crazy clapping. He's a great performer and always will be.

Whoever would give Ronnie Milsap a thumbs down don't know what real country music is it's nothing like today this music today I wouldn't give you a dime for it I am a die-hard pure real country person who knows the country music is one of the greatest things ever someone needs to go to Nashville and where it says home of country music put a new sign up that says home of crap music because that's what this new country is I don't like it I don't listen to it anytime I want to hear good country music I just listen to the classic that's where music is at we ain't got a lot of Legends left from Old School country and wants all the Legends have passed on there won't be nothing left to listen to except finding it on UA-cam or other music channels but as for this new stuff you couldn't pay me enough to listen to it

Hello ✋ Tracy how are you doing??
Tracy I get it
wonder y todays bs music has no true meaning anymore its all about ass drugs and material things and ppl think its all there is in society to care about instead of truly meaningful thoughts relations etc
Amanda Ranson ,you dad blame right! !!!!!!
True that
No heart and soul in today's music
Amanda Ranson you are so right could not have said it better myself
Amanda Ranson and..y is rap music Incorporated into country music??
I am a hard rocker but if there's one guy i think blows them all away it's Ronnie, God bless you i love just about every song of his, & that will never change.
Blessed to have known Ronnie when we were in college together….
An amazing and gifted man…
SPECIAL times, the fifties...
I lost the only women that I really loved. It still hurts after 3 years now. She went back and forth between her ex and me over 4 years twice and I had to say it was over. Extremely painful but I'm not a backup plan or second best. I have to stand my boundaries. She has alot of growing up to do.
I had a pleasure meeting Ronnie Milsap in Washington DC at the Kennedy Center one hell of a nice guy didn’t want to share his beer but a nice guy😂😂😂
Why have I never heard this man before? Astounding talent.
Is that Lonnie Anderson as one of the backup singers????? I know it isn't, but she sure looks like her!
Hello friend, how are you doing today?
Ronnie is one of my all time favorite performers.
Great singer and song
Even though Ronnie is singing about a girl. I took care of my mother in law the last 2 years of her life. The only thing I asked of my pathetic ex and his brother was to put this song in her memorial sideshow. Of course they didn't but I'm soooo glad l spent every day with her. I truly wouldn't have missed it for the WOULD

~~ Ronnie Milsap has been my all-time favorite since I was a little girl listening to him on 8 track!! Mom went on to Heaven this past March After beating Covid 2 months prior all while already hospitalized recovering from a deteriorating spine surgery at age 64. Anyway, she surprised me for my birthday 20+ years ago and took me to see Ronnie in concert, just her and I. We had so much fun!!! I'll never forget how special it was to me back then.....

Saw Ronnie Millsap in concert at the Tri-state fair in Amarillo, Texas in the fall of 1981 with my then future husband. This song describes how I fell about the man that became my husband. We only had 13 short years... But oh the living we did in those years.💜💜💜 Great concert and didn't let his blindness affect his performance one little bit. Loved him then, love him now
