Married in ‘79, divorced in ‘82, ran into him at a country dance club a few months later. He requested this song and literally pulled me onto the dance floor. He sang every word while staring into my eyes. He walked me back to my table and whispered into my ear “There ain’t no getting over me.” Then he left and the next time I saw him was 16 years later just a few months before the cancer took him. I’ve had the thought every day of my life since that he was right…I’ve never gotten over him. 😢
In my teens and early 20s I began listening to much older music all types of genres. I feel so blessed by it. I've also tried to expose my kids to it also

I too was ahead of my time sometimes I wonder if I should have listened to all that music from the 80s and 90s😂 Put the feeling that I get when I'm feeling the most alone and I put on what I used to listen to on my mom's record player when I was a baby and a young young young child? I was around 11 when I heard this song and fell in love with his voice,my kids sister would hear me listen and singing this song and ask me was I depress, she say my music is depressing 🤣🤣🤣. I told her she doesn't know good music when she hear it and besides I think this is one of my favorite 😊
