    Awesome video and how you breathed new life into an old motor was very instructional too! Appreciate your efforts 💕

    Worked out, put a new pull rope, new Impeller, lower grease, then found out the power pack was bad , replaced, took it out ran like a top, still running strong! Thanks .

      or if you did you modified it to use a logical and well thought out pattern to bringing yours back to life...

    There's supposed to be a hard clear plastic cover over that plunger on the carb. Mine also looks like it has an electric starter but didn't come with a factory button.

    That looks like it has the wires(2 green wires) so you can put a rectifier on it to charge your battery.

    You Da` man , wish I had your calm and patience to try to do more of my own work on my motors !! Thanks for the encouragement ! I`ve been trying to find more info on this particular motor, theres one for sale, near me asking $1000 OBO ? Is that a fair price ? Supposed to have been fully serviced 3 yrs. ago, pretty much been sitting since ? Never had a four stroke ?? Thanks, Philip.

    I think I saw a similar motor for sale a few weeks ago.

    Why did you not clean those "dirty" lines up?
    Why did you not replace those brittle fuel lines to and from the pump?
    Why did you not ground both spark plugs at the same time (using crocodile clips and wires) so the CDI unit would not be at risk of blowing up?
    Why did you not take every electrical plug and connection apart and clean them...as corrosion is the worst thing for an engine used in a wet environment?
    Why did you not immediately disassemble the leg and check the impellor before it shattered and drove all those bits of rubber up into the head and cooling passages?

    I have a similar 1992 T9.9EXHQ. I put it away in storage, 5 years later when I take it out of storage, I have no spark. I'm troubleshooting with a DVA and I get values that are within spec for the charge coil (105v)and pulsar coil (4.05v), but the CDI output is lower than spec, 60v actual, spec is 95v. Is this enough on it's own to stop the spark? Or more importantly, to warrant buying a CDI ? Love to hear about it anyone has had a similar experience.

    • @JohnSmith-pl2bk
      @JohnSmith-pl2bk 5 місяців тому

      Hopefully by now you have got a new or new to you CDI unit.
      If you test the spark plugs out of the head like shown on this vid, without clamping both sparkplugs to ground at the same time using crocodile clamps and wires.....you risk blowing the CDI unit...
