This was excellent .. I was hesitant about installing my Caroma Cube pan after installing a concealed cistern after it was tiled over. This gave me the confidence to hook it all up ... a crappy job but now I am flushed with success worried about the fitment of the outlet to the s-trap but this was very helpful (loved the light down the seat fitting holes .. would never have thought of that!).
@rogerjamespaul5528are you saying the 4 spacers sit underneath the pan so it doesn't touch the floor directly? But then you can't remove them if you silicon around where the pan sits on the floor
Great instruction. I would have liked to see how the second screw fitting inside the tank was screwed in, I had to make a tool from conduit with a slot in the end to turn those fittings.
Oh very clever John, love the ingenuity! with the inlet connection out of the way, the old man was able to get his arm down there and tighten them up enough. cheers for the comment. Kent
great and simple instructions! awesome. Can i add multiple toilets to the one main toilet pipe outlet? like where the pipe pops outside rhe house wall to the backyard, can i pop another one (outside) on the toilet sewer pipe?
@@Toddbaldwin00 Silicone works as a good glue connection, but in this video he just ran a bead around the outside. First person to lean forward on that throne is gonna tip it.
@@81griffin i installed one recently, it had L brackets that fitted to the inside down the bottom . put them into the concrete floor with a ramset anchor and siliconed the bottom . been in about 6 months ,seems to be holding up ok.
Hey Aina, here’s a link to the make/model of toiler used (bought from elsewhere though) fienza.com.au/product/chica-close-coupled-toilet-suite/ Cheers, Kent
Where the sewer pipe comes up from out of the ground, did you just shorten it with an angle grinder or something or does that protruding bit just pop off? Thanks.
Any video of the pan that goes straight to the wall instead of floor? Also what is the last 40mm when your doing your measurements from the wall? Thanks a very helpful video 🙂
What stops the porcelain to tile contact, which would either crack/chip tiles or porcelain pan, as well as making that awfull grinding noise ? What secures the pan to the floor solidly now ? Looks like the old pan used mortar to secure it to the floor before by the looks of that bare patch of tiles.
Hey Peteo, great questions 👌 Leigh ‘the plumber’ reckons that once the bowl is sitting on Clean and Flat tiles (no chipping) and a bead of silicone is applied the toilet is secured to the floor so it won’t move, if it ain’t moving - no grinding noise. He’s had success with this technique for years. Admittedly the last one I installed I actually put a bead under the pan as well to adhere to the tiles and it ain’t moving😉 Best of luck 👍Kent
Bloody brilliant !!! I have had a new cistern & bowl combo the same as yours, sitting on the back veranda for yonks, waiting to find out if I can swap from an 's' trap to a 'p' trap... Did not know that you can get that certain fitting you used... Can that fitting be bought from Bunnings or do I need to go to a specialty plumbing mob ? Okay... guess what I am doing tomorrow... lol...
he deserves it! but plumbers (and their trade cards $$$) will hate on bunnings! (they will also hate on this great video!) this is the type of video that cuts into plumbers market (they are not as protected as other tradesmen like electricians).
so the only thing holding to toilet to the ground was a bead of silicone ? what happen if your doing a major big poo and you move around a bit. wont the toilet move ?
Hey mechanical, I wondered the same thing and I guess that’s why they have the option of support brackets each side (if you were planning to wriggle around whilst pooping) 3 toilets installed the same way haven’t budged in 7yrs using this silicone bead technique.. you could always wedge the bowl up to get some silicone underneath if needed🤷♂️ not a silly idea mate. Cheers, Kent
I have done as he suggested in the response here and added a bead of silicon before setting the pan down. In my case the floor had a bit of fall so we needed to pack it up slightly to get it level anyhow, so a good sized bead helped with that too. Once that initial "gluing" bead was set we lay a nicer clean bead in a colour to match the grout of the floor. Have done a few like this in two houses, all are at least 10 years in and one closer to 15 years. No issues at all.
10/10 for this!!No unnecessary talking or extras in the video which made it a great short watch, but very informative and easy instructions. thanks mate 😊
Hi Kent, Is it necessary to remove the old pan collar assembly? Is it possible to still install the new S trap into the existing pan collar assembly with maybe just replacing the rubber if required?
Nice vid! how did you remove the old pan collar assembly that was on the floor? Did you have to cut it off with the angle grinder? And I noticed that you didn't replace it, and just pushed the new S trap into the floor.
Hey SW, yes you are right, the old toilet pan connector and its worn out O’ring needed to be removed, we cut near to the floor with an angle grinder,. The new ‘off set’ pan connector has a rubber gasket that’s seals against the inside of the floor waste. Cheers, Kent
You just glued the pot to the floor? This will become loose in a few years, and then it will be like riding a wild mouse. What is the reason you didn't bolt the pot down?
Hey Pfabra, it was the Plumbers preference, maybe lazy - but many years on since other dunny instals done the same way and they have held well. were you meaning moose or mouse because thats hilarious.. all the best mate, Kent

Ones an inlet and what's the other? Couldn't catch that

Worth mentioning it has both so you can swap them over based on which side of the toilet your feed hose comes in.
