    It would be so awesome if you could make a tutorial on how to sew on a zipper to the zippered pouch. 🙏🏼 thank you for your lovely videos and tutorials. You explain so thoroughly and make it so easy to follow. ❤

      if I release a pattern for the pouches i’ll definitely make videos on sewing in the zip and lining! i’m happy my tutorials are clear, I always worry I don’t demonstrate things so well

    I thought it was so cute that your dad wanted a hat so badly. I hope you can make one for him well before his birthday. Thanks for the review of the yarn - did not realize how nice the yarn was. The olive hat has this beautiful silky sheen to it.

    I really admire your "can-do"attitude! You needed pouches- you made pouches! Good job!
    And I'm with you on your idea of making what you have already knitted work for you. I need to also do that!
    Love all your items!

    I see that not only you are interested and talented around yarn but also your mom, dad, sister...and that is lovely! And love the bags options you designed!

    Curious to see how your dress will turn out! Perhaps you'd like the artic light sweater by Kutovakika. She used Double Sunday and Along Avec Anna mohair, but in a different one she used knitting for olive soft silk mohair I think.

    oh Florence! at 03:14 you said the scarf would be good for special yarn and I'm glad you said that! it was my birthday last week and a friend of mine gifted me a yarn bouquet. I had no idea what to use the yarn for until I remembered that I had favourited this scarfs pattern on raverly sometime last year. It's perfectly thick and I can do some stripes to incorporate all the skeins my friend got me

    I've got a skein of sunday in the most gorgeous orangey red for a pair of mittens I have in the works - I think the colour name is 'that orange feeling' (3819). That could be the perfect colour in double sunday for an oslo hat! xx

    I'm loving the bags you did. They are lovely.
    I'm terribly guilty of buying yarn without a project plan. I just see it and think "oh this is so soft and pretty!"
    I can't wait to see your dress project complete. It looks like it will turn out great!

    Great episode ! I love those little knitted pouches (would be great for scraps) so will keep an eye out for the test knit call (or failing that, the pattern release aha). For your question, I've had really good results using Double Sunday for my Marseille Sweater, and more recently, my Sweater No 23 (I talk about this one in my latest podcast). It is next-to-skin soft, like you say, the colour selection is gorgeous, and the stitch definition is perfect too. Can't wait to knit with it even more!

    Now then,
    Thank you for another podcast episode I really enjoyed seeing all your wips, can’t wait to see them in a couple of weeks 🤍 I’m sure they’ll all turn out gorgeous! I ordered my yarn a couple weeks ago so I’ll be knitting up your sweater pattern soon, it will be my first garment.

    Your cashmere haze sounds amazing! I bought a skein of musk ox yarn at Rhinebeck (I’m in the US). It’s an incredibly soft lace weight yarn and the warmest fiber there is. But it costs triple the amount that cashmere would so I only got one skein. Point is I made a scarf. It’s fairly narrow (4-5 in wide) but long enough to wrap around my neck underneath my winter coat. I used a US 6 needle I think. And it is so WARM and SOFT. It’s one of my favorite knits. 💓💓

    You should tackle the Arctic Light Sweater by Veronika Lindberg (Kutovakika on UA-cam). It uses Double Sunday+mohair. There is a Knit along going on right now.

    For the Rowan skein, you should try the Simple Thing pattern by Melina Brell on ravelry. It’s a free one-skein pattern thats size is dependent on how big your skein is. It’s just garter stitch with I cord edges, and it’s triangular and long so it works up really fast. You would probably have to modify the pattern because the yarn you have is such a thin weight but it would go around your neck so it can really showcase the soft quality! I made one for my sister and she likes wearing it with a puffy jacket in the winter, it’s super cute!

    I actually was able to get my hands on five skeins of Noro silk garden sock solo in Omitama just last week! It is so hard to get in Germany as well, I had been looking for it for quite a while now

    Great video! I know the Rowan CH has a bad rep, but I used it in my only Ranunculus. Held double! It's like a cloud and totally worth it, but I did get it on sale (well, discounted bc of volume) at Webs. I'd do it again, in a different pattern and lighter color. :) Hope you enjoy it!

    Hi Florence, thank you for the free ravelry patterns - much appreciated! When discussing the scarf you mention unpicking it to make it longer. If you were ever to do that, could you do a tutorial video to demonstrate the process? Am a crocheter who is still very new to knitting and there's so much to learn! xx

    What a coincidence! I have three balls of the Noro yarn too and I was planning to make a Terrazzo Sweater with it but with shorter sleeves and no turtleneck. I truly hope the yarn is enough! 🤞🏼

    In case this information helps, I have knit with the Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn several times and believe it looks best knit at about 20st in 10 cm on 4 mm needles (18st on 3.75 mm tightest).. not really a sock yarn.

    • @handmadebyflorence
      @handmadebyflorence  Рік тому +1

      that’s interesting!! i’ve never knitted it up without holding it with another strand. it makes me think it would make very beautiful worsted weight socks then … I might have to give that a go

    Just one question, I never see you knitt in angora, how come?

      angora is very expensive and not necessarily always ethical! with that being said, i’ve seen a couple of angora-wool blends which look really pretty and seem to be manufactured well so I would like to try them out one day!

    • @handmadebyflorence
      @handmadebyflorence  Рік тому +1

      I have some regia and i’m pretty sure it’s exactly the type of sock yarn I like, but I haven’t used it yet just because it’s dark grey and i’m worried stitch patterns won’t show up well! I haven’t yet found a pattern I think looks fun and would suit dark coloured yarn

    I know this is probably too boring of an answer, but I wanted to offer the idea of a hat or headband for the 30% cashmere ball of yarn that you got. @teresamohr4368 below mentioned mittens or fingerless gloves that would be good too. Oh! in one of your videos you made a very tiny little scarf that you could also use as a headband that you said you liked I think. That might also be nice and a versatile way to use the yarn. It was the Sophie Scarf by Petite Knit. It was in your everything I knitted in 2022 part three video. Thank you so much for sharing your knitting and all the fun things you are up to :]
