I bought a Norwegian pattern for one of these sweaters 20 years ago. I got it translated her by a friend and I made the child version. I added the proper braid and I loved it. Sadly my son grew out of it too quickly. Enjoy the journey. 😀
I always look forward to your videos! Any chance the Step by Step cardigan will be coming soon? I'm really looking forward to knitting it! Your Step by Step pullover is a favorite of mine. I have made two so far but have plans to make more.
Hi! I’m probably doing a call for testers tonight and the pattern will go out to testers next weekend - it’ll be probably 2 months from then depending on how smoothly everything goes
I totally agree about reading several rows past the cable row - especially if you're tired or the light isn't great. What I've taken to doing is hooking a removable marker on the stitch of a cable. Much easier to count from that point. Hope this helps you finish that sweater!
Would love to see the process on one of the VM sweaters. I’m norwegian and have never made one, but see them all over. You can pretty much get them in any gift shop in Oslo as well, which is kinda funny. VM jumpers and trolls. Loving all the colourwork you’re doing 🥰
personally i like to continue on the body but when my motivation decreases i start knitting the sleeves bc they are so much faster to finish and if i get more motivation again i switch to the body again. it looks so much more when one sleeve is already done idk it give me so much motivation
nimbleneedles has a step by step tutorial how to make gloves to your size. I made gloves in the very start of my knitting journey ..... dont be intimidated by it is pretty simple ☺
Great to hear that you're going to knit more DK weight socks! I love your pattern for mountain walk chunky (currently on my needles) and I can't wait for another ideas of socks
Thank you for another lovely episode! I love the colorwork kick that you're in! :) Those Norwegian Sweaters are amazingly cool, would love to knit one of those and I'll sure check out the ones you've mentioned that are on Ravelry!
For the construction Maria uses its really easy to just change it to body first and then pick up sts for the sleeves and knit the sleeves. Just cast on the sts as you would normally. I tested a sweater for her a while ago and she had do to some recalculating for the sleeves, and had us cast on for the body first
Your "NPC" (lol) Celeste Sweater looks great. That color combo is lovely, and flattering for you as well. It's delightful that you found a handbag to go with. And your Super Selene is looking great so far; I'm sure the yoke will be fine after blocking :)
Wonderful podcast. Inga from Knitting Traditions knit the Olympic Jumper for her birth year in Cascade 220 non SW, she speaks a lot about this in her podcasts last year (?). I bet she'd be quite helpful with this project. Can't wait to see your progress. Love the mitts, I'm inspired!!
Hi Florence, it’s always a joy to watch your videos 🥰 Love your colors on super selesta sweater. When you specify the yarn colors only one is there for knitting for olive mohair. Didn’t buy pattern yet so probably there is an answer there but until then - do you need different mohair colors for the rest of it or just one you mentioned?
Hi Florence! I love your videos! They are always so peaceful and full of beautiful ideas. I am a newer knitter and I would like to invest in a good quality set of interchangeable knitting needles, do you have any recommendations? Thank you!!
If you are unsure about knitting terms in norwegian, i would recommend checking out the classic norwegian sweater patterns on Drops design. They have the same pattern wrotten in norwegisn and english so you could easily compare them. The classic Marius genser they have there are very 80s so i bet theres some similarities there.
I made the top down raglan sweater turned out so nice I can't wait to make another ❤ I only have one ?? how do you connect your yarn thank you for the tutorial
Beautiful knits as usual. Looking forward to seeing your Olympic sweater. Do you know Inga of the KnittingTraditions podcast knitted the 1994 Lillehammer Olympic Sweater? Love your podcasts.
The Celeste sweater looks gorgeous! I went and checked out the pattern, but in Petite Knit pictures it looks like a turtleneck, I like how yours lays with flat ribbing, did you adjust the pattern somehow?
I might have knitted it a little bit shorter (i usually do), but it’s also just stretched out quite a bit! I should probably add some crochet reinforcement or something to stop it stretching any more
This is the first time I've visited your channel. Well done. I enjoyed your reviews of your knitting projects with all the detail. Perfect for knitting along and stealing a glance at the screen whenever! I'll definitely subscribe. Also, I'm curious about your test-knitting. I wonder if European designers would accept an American test knitter?
Florence have you have knitted a Knitting for Olive pattern? I would be curious to hear you opinion on them. I was expecting it as dummy-proof as the PetiteKnit but so far I’m disappointed
I'm such a fan of your channel and enjoy every minute of your videos 😊 Thank you for all of your work! I was wondering if you have any advice for finished mohair projects and all of the fluff they are loosing? I'm happy I can wear mohair next to skin and I really like the look/effect it gives to a project BUT: It looses so much fluff everywhere I almost feel ashamed when I'm not in my own home and leave so much hair/fleece on someone else's couch like an animal. Is theire any trick? Maybe washing it more often? Thank you in advance!😊
Or maybe it depends on the quality of the mohair? I have to admit I used Drops Kid Silk and Hobbii Friends Kid Silk. Maybe a more expensive yarn does the trick 🤔
It surprises me that you have a mental block when it comes to knitting gloves with fingers. But I'm sure you'll find them easy when you try to. You're a great knitter and have taught me so much.
it’s not particularly that I find it intimidatingly difficult! I just hate putting the thumbs on mittens and a glove would be like … 5 thumbs on mittens.. it seems so fiddly!
If you learn enough Norwegian to follow knit patterns, you will understand Danish ones too :) And maybe 70% of Swedish ones. So I'd say it's worth the effort .
10 balls of 250 meters is 2500 yards. You only used 1400 yards. I think you might want to redo your math. 😊 No matter the cost, it turned out beautifully.
Love your videos, celeste sweater is one of the next projects I am excited to knit, and I love the color choice of yours. The Olympic sweater is my dream knit, maybe in 2025 I ll go for it) Waiting for your mountain walk mittens pattern so much!
I love the idea of filming the Norwegian sweater knit process.
Lovely projects! Everytime you wear your petite knit jumper it reminds me I need to dig mine out and finish it!
I bought a Norwegian pattern for one of these sweaters 20 years ago. I got it translated her by a friend and I made the child version. I added the proper braid and I loved it. Sadly my son grew out of it too quickly. Enjoy the journey. 😀
you're my favorite knitting UA-camr hihi im so happy there's a new video
I love your Celeste Sweater. It inspired me to make one for myself in similar colors😍
Loved this video! Would love to see a dedicated video for the Norwegian knitting experience. That's so adventurous of you! Good luck!
I always look forward to your videos! Any chance the Step by Step cardigan will be coming soon? I'm really looking forward to knitting it! Your Step by Step pullover is a favorite of mine. I have made two so far but have plans to make more.

Hi how does one sign up for test knits? I’ve just made your step by step sweater and simply love it.😊
@@handmadebyflorenceeeeeek!!!! I want to test this so bad!
Love your videos Florence! Love your aesthetic and colour choices!! Please keep posting!!! ❤❤❤❤
4:50 just fyi, gotland is a beautiful swedish island! every summer they also have this "medieval week" thing i'd really want to go to ahhah

ahaha I love making things I could buy much more easily (and probably cheaply) 😌 I think it will be a fun project though!
I can't tell you how much I missed this 🤭🤭
Me too ❤❤❤
I would LOVE a Bernadette Banner style vlog on the norweigan sweater!
😂

Same! Sometimes I'll switch back and forth

Your videos are a beautiful and cozy companion while knitting! The super selene sweater looks very fluffy and warm.

I would usually adapt it for my preferences, but since it was a test knit I felt like I should probably stick to the pattern this time at least :’)
I saw this combination for stripes and thought you will love the combination: Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino
Elderflower (MC)
Fennel Seed (CC)
I look forward to your videos, Florence. Thank you 😊

I came on to say the same. Inca is delightful, isn’t she?!
I live in Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar and today outside is -25 and -34 in the night, and I almost never wear a glove or mittens in winter 😂😂😛
You make beautiful things!
You are very talented. I want to make a Celeste Sweater in the same colours as yours. I am really enjoying your videos.

Maybe it was songs from Knitting Traditions that mentioned the book. I remember when she knit that free one that you showed
Wonder if the vm sweather book includes the last pattern for 2025, if not its in norwegian on house of yarn
That VM (WC) is in my home town, Trondheim

yes, i’m also an international test knitter for these designers and when they’re testing english patterns i’ve never had a problem

The Norwegian pronunciation is quite good 😊 V and M is pronounced almost similar in english and norwegian.
ooh thank you for the info!!
150£ is chockingly expensive, even if it is beautiful, I would prefer cashmere anyway. Thank you for sharing
Mittens are warmer than gloves, so I figure there’s never going to be a reason to knit gloves! 😂😂😂
I am from Norway, so if you need any help with the pattern I am happy to help 😊
Hi, love your videos 🙂I am Norwegian so if you need help with Norwegian I would be happy to help you!

it normally comes in 50g hanks!! I received it in 100g 250m hanks, but you would need to buy 10x 50g or 125m ones
