  • Diptyque Room Spray Review! #candle #homefragrances
    Luxury room sprays are very essential for the person who doesn't have time to light luxury candles or doesn't want a candle burning around the little ones. I found Diptyque room sprays to on the pinnacle in terms of performance. In my experience, i found their room sprays to be exactly like the Diptyque luxury candles. Just make sure you are using the luxury room sprays modestly and they will serve an amazing purpose of freshening up any room in your home. In this video i will thoroughly review the Diptyque Baies room spray, which is one of my favorite scents from this brand. I also have the Diptyque Tuberose room spray, which is one of their newly released sprays which i may make a review on as well. Diptyque candles are quite amazing but i also discuss why i stopped buying their luxury candles. I was thinking of picking up their new luxury diffuser to test the performance against their candles and room sprays. I think that will be an amazing test.
    Let me know if anyone has any Diptyque room sprays and what are your favorite scents. Thanks for watching!

    What I do is that I use the candles, and combine it with the same room spray for an added oomph, or instead of burning 2 different candles according to the scent pairings the house recommends, I spray the complementing scent to the candle I burn. Still doesn’t completely negate the harmful effects of a paraffin wax blend, but I’d say burning one less candle is still better 😅

    I recently purchased the room spray and Amber and 34. I love them both but they smell so incredibly similar. I don’t feel the need to have both at the same time so I will probably just have one or the other and go back-and-forth for future purposes.
    I also have the baise and the rose room spray should be here tomorrow. I’m looking forward to spraying that around my home. I hope it is as strong as the 34 and Amber.
    The baise smells pleasant, but it is very, very faint so I use it as pillow spray. It smells beautiful, but does not last long and is very weak in strength.
    I adore making candles and rim spray and I just purchased coconut/apricot wax to make some new candles. I’ve not used this blend before, but I’m looking forward to trying it out.
    Also, I would love to send you a candle as a thank you for all of your amazing videos. Would this be possible?

    Get the room spray to manhandle the top off, and pour your room spray into a high-end diffuser. Around three to $400 and have your home smelling amazing all day every day. preferably a diffuser with an mobile app, you control how often it dispenses the oils into the air.

  • @melenahoward
    @melenahoward 3 місяці тому

    I am just adding onto what I said before, but I now have Amber, 34, rose, baise and the multiuse spray. The only one I have left to get is the orange.
    I actually purchased these on your recommendations and so I did. I have never in my life. Life has such a beautiful, long lasting fragrance. The baise is probably my favorite, but it is very very faint and cannot be smelled for very long. But it does make good linen spray.
    The 34, Amber and rose is very long lasting and noticeable
    The multiuse spray I love because I can spray it on my skin, my clothing, my furniture, and I even spritz it on my towels and clothing couple minutes before it’s done in the dryer to give it a nice fresh scent.
    Please let me know what you think about it. Is it long lasting question is it as strong and long lasting as some of the other home fragrances

    • @DetailedDream
      @DetailedDream  3 роки тому +3

      Thank you very much!! I much prefer Japanese incenses due to the fact that most are made using Bamboo which provides a much cleaner burn. I don't burn incense often because of the smoke but would reach for any japanese made incense everytime. I actually have a video scheduled for Incenses :).

      @brettb154 3 роки тому +1

      @@DetailedDream I'm glad to hear you like them so much, I feel the same way. Like candles, some of the brands are many centuries old, such as Baieido and Shoyeido. Most Japanese incenses actually have no inner core at all, and are completely made from rolled dough made with herbs and woods, mostly sandalwood or agarwood, or oud. I love that you can begin from humble price points, such as around $10 for regular Kobunboku by Baieido, which can soar to thousands of dollars (for 35 sticks) for offerings such as Shokaku by Shoyeido.

    I’m curious about this room spray. Regarding your comments on their candles: those seem to be based on unscientific assumptions. Here is what I can tell you: I’m the blessed owner of a Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde: the best of the best when it comes to air purification. This machine picks up even the slightest disturbing substance hidden from the human eye and nose. It went ballistic when I sprayed a Frederic Malle room spray twice..
    However: after a full hour of burning my Baies candle, it stayed completely silent. My Dyson app showed me that the air quality in my studio apartment was of the best possible level. I’m not a scientist, but for me this is very telling.
    Whenever I spray on like five or six sprays of Dior Sauvage or Bleu de Chanel, my Dyson hits the orange (poor) to red (bad) quality bars. Yet during and after the burning of my Baies, it stayed green. I don’t know how Diptyque does it, but I believe other candle makers should aspire to live up to their quality of candle production 👌

    I love the ginger room spray - gingembre. It's fresh and is great for the kitchen. I find it hangs around longer than Baies. Regarding the plug in diffuser, I didn't realize it has a fan inside that has to be turned on and off. I thought it would be just like a wallflower plug in that would always 'be on.' Unfortunately not. They say to expect 3 months per refill if you just leave it plugged in all the time. I don't notice it when I walk in to a room unless I've turned the fan on. I haven't replaced the cartridge yet, because I'm not sure I want to throw good money after bad, if you know what I mean.

    • @DetailedDream
      @DetailedDream  3 роки тому +5

      I haven't tried Gingembre yet. I will have to check it out. I personally love the on and off feature. I tend to get tired of a scent if i constantly smell it or if its clashing when i have a candle burning.

    Diptyque is legendary. Diptyque's candle scents and fragrances waft like butterflies but, however, they're highway robbery. Here's why...
    This from Diptyque: "In addition to natural fragrances, Diptyque candles can also boast a high quality that is hard to match." Read between the lines. Natural fragrance does not mean essential oils. If Diptyque used essential oils they would say so. Diptyque uses synthetic oils, which almost all high-end perfumers use. There's an argument too that pure essential oils don't have a strong throw but that's another discussion. My main critique with Diptyque is that their candles are dry and very little oil is used, whether synthetic or natural. Many candles have little to no smell at all.
    Diptyque was once a small company making small batch artisanal candles. The amount of oil in their candles used to bead up on the wax surface. When lit, their candles filled the room with extraordinary fragrance. When unlit, their candles had a strong cold throw. No more. Diptyque's quality is gone but it's no surprise. Diptyque expanded to some 100 stores all over the world and with expansion comes compromise. Diptyque candles are mass produced, of poor quality, and sold for exorbitant prices.
    Then there's this. "Diptyque candles are all hand-poured and made of high-quality paraffin wax." This is crazy. You're paying $80 for a candle made with petroleum based paraffin wax. Is this paraffin wax from China or from France? Does it matter and how do we know? Oh, and thank you Diptyque for not using "poor-quality" paraffin wax. I can't make this stuff up if I tried. Of course, Diptyque couldn't use soy wax or beeswax because this would be too costly for them and they'd have to have to raise the price beyond what is already extraordinary. Better to pinch pennies at the factory and maximize profits. Sounds like something something an equity firm would do, not an artisanal French candlemaker.
    It goes on. "Each candle is carefully prepared individually and hand poured to ensure that a qualified person can spot any problems and flaws." Does it matter if a candle is hand poured or poured from a machine? Again, with 100 stores and candles being made en masse, all that matters is precision. Great candles must use high quality wax, high quality oils and fragrances, and high quality wicks centered on their bases. This is marketing gobbledygook and Diptyque knows it.
    It gets worse. Sure enough, in 2005, Diptyque was bought by... you guessed it... a private equity firm, Manzanita Capital. Their CEO, William S. Fisher's worth is $1.85 billion. He worked at the Gap and he's a hedge fund manager. It's Fisher's job to maximize profits at all costs, definitely not what I would associate with an artisanal, high quality candlemaker.
    There are salaries to be paid. I'm not talking about the pittance that Diptyque's staff are paid, though they're the heart of the company and should be well compensated. The real money is made at the top of the food chain. It explains why Diptyque's candles cost $80 and if you want to buy a lid for the candle, that's an extra $30 - $60 for a cheap piece of... whatever. If you're not careful, you can spend up to $140 for a 190g paraffin wax candle. Like I said, highway robbery.
    Diptique is no longer a French candle company. They are owned by a London-based conglomerate. Diptyque's gorgeous looking products and their extraordinary history keeps them from being a 1-star company, but their candles suck purple Twinkies.
    There are many better alternatives at all price points. Here are a few high-end candlemakers that use quality ingredients:
    Cire Trudon, Mad et Len, Maitre Gantier, Christian Tortu, Le Labo, & Carrière Frères
    ...and many come with lids.
