Great stuff Eagle Eye . Mate you have been building some awesome very accurate Rifles lately. It’s too bad I cannot get ya to build me a PRS rifle and send it to me Down Under 😕😏😒😔. The authoritarian creeps in power here won’t allow it .
Yes the 6 GT just had an area 419 QD. However, that rifle weighs 21 pounds, the 6 ARCs are about 16. Was mostly testing performance than recoil mitigation
@@EagleEyeShooting But, you state you're looking at recoil and followups. You should have at least took the time to throw the break off the arc on the gt. I get having the exact same setup could be cost prohibitive, but not using the same break when it's right there... come on man.
@Col Bollinger, I've been shooting the 6 ARC at PRS matches since it came out. Many think I'm shooting a 6 BR. It keeps up and spanks recoil against any 6mm cartridge so far. A few hurt feelings reports have been filed, nothing new. Try it out and see for yourself.... theirs a reason I have manufacturered over 98 6 ARC bolt guns last year
@@EagleEyeShooting I'm happy with my 6.5 grendel and if I need more I have a 6.5 creed hmr. Might play with the new cartridges later, once our country gets back to sanity. I just figured, if you're truly trying to compare things, you should try to get them as close to equal as possible. Anyone that shoots much, knows how much a good brake can do for you. But, it's pretty obvious you'd be happy building more 6 arcs. That's fine; just own it and don't blow smoke.
Great videos Kenny! Maybe you can help me (possibly others) out? What AICS magazines do you recommend for the 6 Arc? MDT suggested the 308, which seems large, I read somewhere the 224 valkyrie mags where feeding it well? Thanks!
just curious why you would not use the 115 dtac in the gt? or the 108 in the arc? they are both 6mm so why not compare apples to apples you also have 12 degrees different in temp. the 108 is a .511 g1 the 115 dtac is a .620 g1 using known good nodes for the gt puts the wind hold at 1.1 mils 2.1 mils of drop at 500. so the arc is losing by time of flight, wind drift and drop. and thats at only 500 yards. i think you make good videos, but i think this in not even close to a fair comparison.
With some very narrow exceptions, I can not understand why people would want to play withe the 6 ARC in a bolt gun, especially in the PRS game involving shooting at unknown distances which prioritizes flat shooting (higher velocity) rounds with sufficiently low recoil to spot hits/misses. There are simply better cartridges.
Quick question..How did you discern that the 6mm ARC has less recoil? . I have owned both 6mm ARC and 6mmGT... both bolt action and both Remington Remage builds. Both Bull barrels and no noticeable recoil differance. The 6gt is easier to load for and more predictable. ALOT more forgiving when going for 1 size bullet to the next. I spent alot of time behind my ARC and I have to say the 6mmGT is simply a better round for a bolt competition gun
To each their own. Did not say the 6 ARC is a better round, I did state that the 6 ARC can "keep up" with the 6 GT and I have been even at full value cross winds. And I can guarantee the 6 ARC does have slightly less recoil. Minute, but still less
@@EagleEyeShooting How? The same size bullet leaves at the same or close to volicty out of the same twist barrel with same muzzle break.. makes sense. = same recoil all day long.. Example 2850 fps 108 eldx Same weight gun Same muzzle break Same recoil... It's just physics.
@@mikecornelison92 how not? A difference in 10gr of powder? Your stating that won't reduce recoil? Simple physics like you said.... but to dumb it down.... More boom boom means more push. Newtons third law. Need a refresher? And they are not the same velocity in this video. Im shooting 115 DTACs at 2645 fps
@@EagleEyeShooting Lol. That's funny. I think you need to look up Newtons Third law. Lolo Second off. Mass times speed is what we are talking about. I will put it in more simple terms as you put it. Now keep up here, I will go slow. Fast hotter powered ie (generally means you don't need as much of it to equal the same power) if an object THE SAME weight object .... like a bullet leaves the same barrel. Like a 6mm barrel moving at the same speed. Felt recoil is the same. Regardless of powder... now that mean a 6mm Creedmoor moving at the same speed as a 6mm ARC with all being equal will feel the same. Sounds crazy but it is true. Oooo by the way more boom usually equals more speed. Just saying. So I am not sure what juice your drinking but i would stop. It's not helping. 6mm Creedmoor and 6mmGT are better suited for long range period. Thanks for dumbing it down for me it really helped me understand. Lol
Very cool, Eagle! Nice work! That logo etching looks great, too!
You definitely got that 6 ARC dialed in. 😉👍👊
And I just subscribed to your other channel😉👊
Glad you mentioned your other channel. Didn't know you had one...
Me either, just subbed though 👊😎🇺🇸
Great looking Builds Kenny 👍 👊😎🇺🇸
Thanks brother 🤙👍
Good comparison video on these two calibers🤙
👍👍 nice job Kenny
subbed to the other channel too. Gonna take my new 6 arc rifle (that you built for me) out to the range next time I get some time to shoot.
The logo looks cool .
Looks like some nice builds 👍👍
Very nice 👍
Excellent video. Especially when getting your son involved in the video production and shooting sports
Nice shooting Eagle Eye. Subscriber 158 on your other channel!
Christ bless, Eagle Eye Shooting!
Thank you 😊
Nice improv with pallet for a shooting stage

Excellent work Kenny. You should try the pallet trick while hopping on one foot.
Did the 6 GT have a muzzle brake? It appears to just have a threaded muzzle when you stand up with it off the truck.

224 Valkyrie mags are the only reliable feeding mags at this moment
Kenny have you done any work with the 6.8 Western cartridge I'm kind of thinking about getting a build for a good hunting rifle.
I have not, ive only recently learned about it from the Social Regressive
what reticle is in the Leupold? Was is custom? Why did you choose the VX5 over the Mark 5?
It was a rifle I built for a client, I honestly don't know the specs of that scope. But I really did like the reticle

Hey man, you working for BN or just given the hat?
You using the BADMF?
Im given a hat ever year after peak season😉. Yes thats the BADMF
@@EagleEyeShooting
I can't seem to get one in the BN Telecom department .
Start delaying trains or cause an injury opening a water bottle LoL
What barrel length is on the 6 GT? Thinking about doing 26” but not sure if that is optimal for the cartridge.
26 or 28 is recommended. 6.5 Staball, Varget or shootersworld precision work very well
Seems like the 6arc is very similar to a 6ppc
You may be cheating a little with that 6 arc vs 6GT lol put that 12 DTAC in the GT.
all I heard was tailgate noise reflection
It's not Leo Pold. It's Leupold (loo-polled)
