Every day with that trusty shotgun in hand, will be a day spent with a loved one. I have the first rifle my father ever bought me still. 20 years after his passing, rebuilt as a F Class rifle now, but never is there a day at the range I feel like he is not with me. Just like when I was young, these are the things that make the shooting community the best in the world.
I have watched many of your videos and it’s obvious you are passionate about shooting and guns. This video however was on another level. It was pure joy to see and feel your love and respect for the process of you fulfilling a dream. Shoot well and keep us entertained.
i generally don't comment on videos, as a new SL2 owner (replacing a DT11 Black) I'm obviously a big fan of Beretta. This may be the best Beretta video I've seen on youtube, it's full of useful knowledge. and information. Great Job!
That rose on the top lever is such a touching tribute to your late neice Jonny, and also seeing you shoot so well with it on that soggy day in September justifies, in my mind at least, the painstaking effort and time it took to get everything absolutely right with your DT. Super camera work and editing as well as tons of information about the gunfitting process made it such an enjoyable video. Look forward to seeing you shoot it for many years to come.
Beautiful gun and craftman proces! Btw the guy at 6:07 is Jesper Hansen (DEN) - Olympic silver medalist in 2021 and World Champion in 2013 in skeet shooting :D
Congratulations Johnny! Absolutely amazing shotgun you’ve had built for you by my favorite shotgun company! I’ve had the chance to visit the Beretta Gallery in NY and it was so impressive! Thank you for your video! Enjoy that piece of art! I love Beretta shotguns, I own 5! I have a 686 Silver Pigeon 1 Sporting, A400 Xtreme and A400 Xcel all in 12 gauge and the A400 Xplor in 20 and 28 gauge! I love them all!
Great video Johnny, Thank you very much for taking us with you, in this beautiful process of the making of your gorgeous gun my friend. I go to Italy every year, down South, time for me to make an appointment with Beretta, and get a custom gun for me.
Congrats on the new gun Jonny! As a 12 & 20 gauge Beretta 686 Sporting shooter, Beretta is one of those manufactures that you get emotionally invested in. Great job on the video 👍
We do but not on a large commercial front. There are PLENTY of EXTREMELY TALENTED WORLD CLASS small shop custom makers that will build you the gun of your dreams. Given the price will be higher because they are a small shop building 1 gun at a time. The pricing won't be crazy more expensive but you will pay more and that's cool because you are supporting small USA makers. This was probably a 12k-13k build out and it's a very nice gun, a small shop would build you a custom at this level for probably around 14-15k. I have had a couple OUs built by small custom builders and at 10k the guns they build are literally works for art with crazy tight tolerance and world class fit and finish. It would be awesome to have a venue like this to go check out and have a firearm built BUT me personally I would take that cash I would have spent and went to a small custom shop added a few more grand to what I was going to spend and have a world class OU in my hands in 8 weeks. I also prefer the small custom builders for the simple fact of the relationship that's built. I can't call Beretta at 8am on a sat morning and have them know who I am by name and for that reason alone I go small shop custom. It would be cool to have a place like this here for the novelty of it but my money is going to the small custom shops be it my OUs or my bolt guns for shooting long range.
In addition to the other two above me, this is also Berretta, the oldest still in operation Weapons manufacturer in the world, dating to the inaugural contract for Match lock harquebus barrels in the 1520s. Threes over 500 years of experience and trade knowledge in that building.
Great video Johnny , and the rose engraving on the top lever to remember your niece is a lovely touch too. What a lovely gun and made by an amazing company.
You looked more comfortable with that gun than any other that you have shot. You really looked comfortable with it. You did not look like you were fighting it at all. Just looked right.
The Beretta experience is something so "family" and personal and an absolute pleasure to see. For such a large company it could have so easily have been lost. Best bit is their guns are really good at whatever grade, and going to last and last with only the basics of care. Shooters around the world are well served by Beretta, and Beretta deserve praise as they do put the effort in. TGS and Beretta are going to have an adventure or two together it seems. That will be worth watching.
I bought an a300 a few years back and I Love that gun. The walmut stock is beautiful. The action is smooth. Its light. Incredibly fun to fire. Beretta is the upper echelon for a reason.
Very nicely done Jonny and such a wonderful sentiment to honour your niece in a fantastic way. The guis stunning and you clearly look so comfortable with it. Happy shooting 🙏🙏🙏
Congratulations on the completion of your labor of love. The duality of the engraving and stock along with the familial tribute make your DT11 a superb legacy piece. Whether you are in the field or on the clay ground you are now in the possession of a true demon.
Hey I love your videos, smart on Beretta for teaming up with you, very smart marketing… Glad to hear you will still be shooting and reviewing other guns and makers. As a Krieghoff shooter, I feel deep down that’s what you wanna shoot, but I get it, lol
Spectacular DT-11 sir !!!! Just incredible. Admired your tribute to your niece with the rose. Beautiful. There were many DT-11's competing and winning in last Olympics, and generally- you see so many DT-11's everywhere. Congratulations Jonny, well deserved sir. Thanks for sharing this wonderful experience with Beretta.
Absolutely love this video. As a silver pigeon 1 sporting, 694 black and a 50th anniversary dt11 owner I am a beretta enthusiast one day I’ll do this if I can afford it.
Congrats Jonny I know this was a long process and a lot of boxes to check to make this your gun. Once again I am envious. Great choice of wood and finish. It will age like fine wine. 👏👏👏
You look more comfortable shooting your new gun, in the past you seemed to contort. Enjoy it Jonny. Though not at the same level, in the very early 90's i bumped into Barry Simpson, i was 21 years old and wanted a straight hand stocked 687, which Beretta didnt make, but a quick phone call to GMK, and they altered one for me. I bought the gun with some money my Grandad had left me, still shoot it, still love it. I'm 53 now, and its going to have a little more cast added and a pad, i hope im still shooting it in 20 years time. Its about passion.
I just got a DT-11 Sporting off the dealer shelf. I’ve added a Graco adjustable butt plate and Kick Ezz pad. No regrets I would love a custom stock maybe some day but my scores just keep getting better. No regrets in Canada it’s not as easy but this is a lifetime hobby.
Some years ago, I spent an evening at the Rigby company and held a 60000£ safari rifle. That was an evening to remember. Their trophy room was amazing.
Congratulations on your beautiful gun! DT11L Sporting Scene Caccia, 32", custom stock, beavertail forend, custom engraving on the top lever. Correct? I just got a second hand DT11 30" sporter myself, and I can't wait to go shoot it. Everything about it feels so much better than my 682 Gold E and 694. Trigger pull is fantastic.
Fantastic content as always, that factory trip of the customisation of your DT 11 was brilliant and the personal touch of the Rose is exceptionally moving. Great content as always 👍
Gun fit is one of the two most important items to become proficient with a shotgun...The second important item is getting your head tuned into looking at the target...There is a third and that is consistent mount which is easily accomplished with a good fit of the gun to it's owner...Enjoy your DT11.
Hey Mr Carter, New gun looks fantastic mate well done. Pleased for you and gutted i missed the garth maybe next year. Hope you and the team are all keeping well. Take care. Paul.
Yes thank you we're both very well. Been really busy started hatching and rearing birds for our local shoot this year and building a custom custom quad this year so with work and family its been a mad year dont know where the years gone. Hopefully catch you at the British shooting show. Thank you for all the cool content really enjoy the channel.
The rose was a lovely touch. Lose the chrome exhausts was very entertaining! I’d love to know the 5 guns that made the shortlist and if a great safety catch was on the list of criteria 😂
I wonder how Jim feels about all this. 🤷♂ I mean he couldn't possibly compete with the largest and oldest gunmaker in the world. Don't get me wrong to me this all makes perfect sense and I am more than happy for you and your channel. After all I am the beneficiary of that success.
We are all beneficiaries of that success! Anyone that watches this and enjoys it is a beneficiaries. I'm 99.9% sure that is what he is saying... Unless he is family and the gun is willed to him lol.
The reason behind the rose is beautiful and the story hurts but you can clearly see the love you had for her. May she live on forever in your heart.
Every day with that trusty shotgun in hand, will be a day spent with a loved one. I have the first rifle my father ever bought me still. 20 years after his passing, rebuilt as a F Class rifle now, but never is there a day at the range I feel like he is not with me. Which one is better 😅
Congratulations with this beautiful rifle. The Rose is beautiful and will keep the memory and love for her alive.
Sorry for the loss of your niece, the rose on the lever is a great tribute. Great video and wonderful new shotgun, congratulations.
That rose on the top lever is such a touching tribute to your late neice Jonny, and also seeing you shoot so well with it on that soggy day in September justifies, in my mind at least, the painstaking effort and time it took to get everything absolutely right with your DT. Two beautiful pieces. The film. The gun.
Well played.

Congratulations on your new gun. Wishing you much success with it.
In the US we may have gunstores in every town and city, but we don't have this. This is something I'm jealous of.

That’s because in Europe (as opposed to America) guns are designed for shooting clays, not people

That rose on the top lever mt, outstanding reason, a truly iconic vid m.
thanks.
Great video Johnny , and the rose engraving on the top lever to remember your niece is a lovely touch too. What a lovely gun and made by an amazing company.
She's a beauty! What an amazing experience. I love my 694, but it may be time for a custom DT-11!
You looked more comfortable with that gun than any other that you have shot. You really looked comfortable with it. You did not look like you were fighting it at all. Just looked right.

I have been waiting for this story for a while, very person and emotive. Outstanding story. You deserve it, well done. 👏
This totally explains the cost of upscale guns. The craft incorporated into the construction is amazing.
What a great video and truly lovely tribute to your niece. You’ve made not just a beautiful gun but a beautiful family heirloom to pass on
I bought an a300 a few years back and I Love that gun. The walmut stock is beautiful. The action is smooth. Its light. Incredibly fun to fire. Beretta is the upper echelon for a reason.
Jonny, superb selection of shotgun and video of the entire process. Congratulations. Perry Pappous, California, USA
What an awesome story and beautiful gun. Truly happy for you. Thanks for taking us along.
Very nicely done Jonny and such a wonderful sentiment to honour your niece in a fantastic way. The guis stunning and you clearly look so comfortable with it. Happy shooting 🙏🙏🙏
Congratulations Johnny. Genuinely thrilled for you. Wishing you many years of happy shooting. Beautiful gun

Well said, and thankyou for your support
Great video and a wonderful thing to do in memory of your niece
Thank you
Lovely touch Jonny with the rose 🌹 thanks from Ireland
A journey not a destination video, brilliant.
Johnny you are truly a legend . And that gun is a absolute beauty. Look forward to following your journey with it.

One of the best videos I've seen in years on the channel. Congrats!

That brought me to tears.
Great video and love the rose in memory 👍👍
brilliant film, your passion for the sport is always palpable. Thank you for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
Really enjoyed the journey in this video. I probably would've opted for a showier wood finish, but the overall results of the project seem stellar!
The barreta girls are such class.❤
what a beautiful piece of art
Lovely project
Such a brilliant presentation! I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you!
Nice to see how you have your own weapon made completely personal. I enjoyed your experience!! I love Beretta
Some years ago, I spent an evening at the Rigby company and held a 60000£ safari rifle. That was an evening to remember. Their trophy room was amazing.
This has been a neat video to watch. I have enjoyed watching the process of making a shotgun that is custom fit to the shooter.
I can't believe the effort and lengths you go to to beat Ant. Love the video and the watching the building process. Well done 👍
😂🤣😂
Congratulations on your new gun! Great looking gun. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Thankyou and thankyou for your support
Congratulations on your beautiful gun!
DT11L Sporting Scene Caccia, 32", custom stock, beavertail forend, custom engraving on the top lever. Correct?

Bang on!
Love your new gun. ASE gold & 1970 ASE game owner here. Can’t wait for a 3/6 month review 😀
You realize you just put me on a path to buy a custom DT11 Sporting Black. A new reason to go back to Italy. And you have killed my budget!!!!!!!!!!!
What a dream right there mate! One day il go to Beretta Italy and do the same.. Hopefully upgrade my 694 for an SL2 or DT11 EELL. Cheers.
What a beautiful gun
Every purest shooter, dreams for a shotgun of this stature.
In my opinion worth every penny.
Lovely gun... so glad it turned out well for you... 🙂
Should convert muskets , with a trap door system etc :D
Fantastic content as always, that factory trip of the customisation of your DT 11 was brilliant and the personal touch of the Rose is exceptionally moving.
Great content as always 👍

You chose a great gun 👍
You lucky duck! Congrats on the premiere sponsorship
Your a great story teller ! Congarts sir
Welcome to the DT11 family 😊
Wow, your a lucky guy that's always been a dream of mine I just need to hit the lottery !!
Brilliant video as a non fac holder would also be nice to see the old air gun videos again if you ever have the chance
Brilliant as usual
Thats a beautiful shotgun. The stock is lovely. The rose, very touching.
Fantastic video well done Johnny . Top Gun.
Beretta really know how to make a great gun, great video.
Great video. Beautiful gun👌🏻
Lucky guy!

We are all beneficiaries of that success! Anyone that watches this and enjoys it is a beneficiaries.
I'm 99.9% sure that is what he is saying... Unless he is family and the gun is willed to him lol.
Thank you Johnny, great video.
Awesome. Been looking forward to this. Thanks JC 👍
You must have some rent gee, I would of had a B25 no dout about it ,but I hope you like your gun.
I'm pretty sure I couldn't have taken that beauty out in the pouring rain 🫣
these things are made for using. just have to break a habit of a lifetime and clean it!
Beretta makes great guns. 😊😊😊
Now if only that lottery ticket would pan out . . . .
99% of lottery buyers stop buying tickets just before the win, keep on it /s
What artist. Makes me feel like lucky for you in some small way. I know that sounds crazy just amazing.
Appreciate it man
Think about adding the Beretta Steelium Pro Sport 20 and 28 gauge sub barrels? 410 offering in the future would make it complete.
Very nice Johnny, enjoy!
