Tetra fish is one of the most well-known freshwater schooling fish of all time. Most of Tetra fish have unique colors and patterns which made them look beautiful and stunning. Neon Tetras are one of the most interesting species to have, which they enjoy hanging out together. Green Neon Tetras is also a perfect species for our tank, which they will look stand out with their fantastic bright blue stripe on their tiny bodies. Thank you so much for doing this video.
One of my favourite species is the X-Ray Tetra. In the past I kept one with hetero chromia. One eye was the normal colouration while the other was solid black.

There is no way way bro put neon tetras as a 15 gallon fish.😭😭😭 I have never once in my life 😭😱. Bro I have heard people say you can put them in five gallons and I've heard 10 gallons but idk if I'm just stupid but that SHOCKED me😭😭😭
This is really interesting and I never new that Tetras are the one of the most well-known schooling fish of all time. The details of 21 type's are clearly detailed as their birth of them, colors and their diet etc. Thank you for shearing this valuable friendly fishes and my favorite is Blue Neon Tetras. The Gold Neons Look Fabulous too. 🐟🐟
8:52 love these guys (silvertip tetras). male and female have divergent coloring with the females more of a dim lemon yellow and the males tending towards orange that is a bit like ember tetras. definitely need to get a larger group 8-10+ so they don't bully each other. but the schooling is AMAZING!! you can keep with short tailed bettas and it's fine (as long as your betta has some b*tch in its personality and isn't super meek.) i have one in with a school of 11, waiting for a bigger tank to finish cycling.
great video very useful to everyone. more important and educational information include the video about the types of tetras. good explantation. thank you.
The most beautiful video I have ever seen. awsome. There are very beautiful fish. My heart melts.Your created very good vedio.. I truly like the way you discuss the subject. I'm having a great time. Thank you for creating this fantastic video.I full watch Thnk you..👾💜📺
Tetras are beautiful fish. Most species have awesome colors and markings and some types of tetras also have interesting fin shapes. Looks are not all these tiny fish have going for them though, personality is just as important!
Thanks for your comment 😊. I love cardinals myself but haven’t thought about the schooling experience. I’ll need to scope them out at the local fish store :).
Also ive heard some schooling fish that egglayers sometimes schools up female drops the eggs and male fishes shoots sperm out and fertilizes them at the sametime as the fall into gravel substrates gold fishes etc
Some added info from my experience...Black Phantoms are NOT calm they are energetic as hell. Not for a calm tank. They are peaceful to everything but infight frequently. Males spend all their time shadow dancing with eachother to impress the females, which is sadly lost on them because the females are too busy fighting eachother to look up and see it. Expect little nicks and tears in fins. Best kept in 2 to 1 ratios in favour of the females. 4 males 8 females looks great👌. Black Widows can grow to be absolute units they are not a small tetra so be prepared for that.
So, I just have my first fish tank a 30 gallon tall with a hang on back filter and a med. size sponge filter. It's been cycling for 2 1/5 months it's a planted tank and ready for my fish. My question is do I have room for 6 Congo Tetras and 6 Lemon Tetras and 6 Panda Cory's?
I really like widow tetras, not the genetically modified ones, original widow tetras. When I was new to this hobby I had 6 of them with a few lyre tail mollies . But all tetras are fin nippers , when I started my current angelfish aquarium I wanted to have a schooling fish and got 12 hokey stik tetras . But they nipped the angelfish so much that 2 of them died . So I had to use danios as a schooling fish in angelfish setup . I want neons but still can't
Solid schooling fish. Shouldn’t be a nippy one and safe for plants. - Water parameters: Temperature 72-82°F (22-28°C), pH 6.0-7.5, hardness 2-15 dGH. - Substrate: Use fine gravel or sand as the substrate.
@@AquariumStoreDepot Thanks! There were tiny fry at my LFS, they’re maybe a half inch long and mostly clear. I’ve had them for about a week and they seem to be doing great. Got them for cheap too because the employee liked me lol
@@AquariumStoreDepot They're colorful, inexpensive and easy. I still own descendants of fish I bought over 20 years ago. The babies survive even in busy communities and don't require any special feeding. They just thrive.
No - the only glofish that get along with tiger barbs are glo trigger barbs and glosharks. You’ll need a larger tank to house the gloshark. Glo tetra is derived from the black skirt tetra. Pristella is the X Ray tetra.
Thanks for your comment RhysGibson. We only included 21 due to trying to keeping the l video shorter. There are tons of tetras available. I’ll add them to our bonus list on our blog (where we don’t need to worry as much about length 😄)
To me the most common tetras are the most striking. Regular, Cardinal and Green Neons are incredibly colorful almost like saltwater fish. The rest just can't compare.

I like the “Morse code tetra” ❤ Cuz is super cute❤❤❤
Tetras are beautiful fish. Most species have awesome colors and markings and some types of tetras also have interesting fin shapes. Looks are not all these tiny fish have going for them though, personality is just as important!
The best schooling fish in my experience is the Green Neon tetra though if you want richer color the Cardinal stands out among their cousins.
Thanks for your comment 😊. I love cardinals myself but haven’t thought about the schooling experience. I’ll need to scope them out at the local fish store :).
Very amazing video
Glad you think so!
Columbian red fin tetras are excellent schooling fish

Hi there. That’s a green fire tetra 😊
@@AquariumStoreDepot pretty thank you
You missed Blind cave tetra
I love them!

What tetras go well together

Does anyone know much about rainbow tetras? There so little info on them

Great list of tetras. Lots of information. Thanks.
Thank you for your comment and for watching 😊. Happy to help
You didn't even talk about the green fire tetra AND ITS IN THE THUMBNAIL
Ya missed it 😅. There are so many Tetras 😆
What about sepera tetras?
Would one of each be good in a 30 gallon tank? Would they school together?
Cardinals would be good in a 30 gallon. Cangos are would work best in a 40 and up. They will do a mixed school yes
These comments be like bro you forgot "insert weird useless uncommon fish that you will never see in a tank because they are bland and ugly"🤓☝
Thanks for toucan tetra. Beautiful. Will look for it
Colombian tetras never get any love.
Tell us more about them. What do you like about them?
@@AquariumStoreDepot They're colorful, inexpensive and easy. I still own descendants of fish I bought over 20 years ago. The babies survive even in busy communities and don't require any special feeding. They just thrive.
What’s the tetra in the thumbnail on the left??
I believe it is a green fire tetra (Aphyocharax rathbuni)
the image in this video in not that accurate, but the video is accurate. so you can ignore some of the pic.
Is it okay glo tetras with tiger barbs?
No - the only glofish that get along with tiger barbs are glo trigger barbs and glosharks. You’ll need a larger tank to house the gloshark.
Glo tetra is derived from the black skirt tetra. Pristella is the X Ray tetra.
Where is serpae tetra?
Hi there. Left them off since they can be a bit nippy.
Where’s the bleeding heart tetra and candy cane tetra

not in this list obviously
On the "23 types of tetra" video 😂🤦♂️
You forgot about the sabretoothed blood tetra!
Oh those show up in our aggressive fish video
To me the most common tetras are the most striking. Regular, Cardinal and Green Neons are incredibly colorful almost like saltwater fish. The rest just can't compare.
