Sooch, I think I'm gonna have to stop watching you. I have puchased way too many rifles and pistols after watching you videos. As I am working on my addiction, I am once again tempted by your fine presentation. Never stop.
Please, don't! Stop! ... Please ... don't ... stop! ... Please, don't stop!
Facts 😂
Thanks for the VDO!
Trauma therapy seems to help with this addiction problem!
@@jamieciotti5783 stop sayin it. It’s contagious!
Came here to make sure the CZ 83 got an honorable mention. Glad to see it did.
Love the CZ83. Fantastic little gun. Accurate as a tackdriver!
@@chriszeelie8493 Its not really little. Has the size of a G19 and is even a bit heavier.
My favorite.
@@chriszeelie8493😂
I purchased a Bersa Thunder plus based on your video reviews. Not disappointed!😎👌 My new CCW.😂
380acp 15+1😘
People put shit on them, but they arnt a bad gun!
I'm looking to BUY one instead.
Hear bad things about Bersa. Have they improved quality?
@@karlschulte9231 yes!
Under rated. Better than ppk.
Bersa and the Beretta are my choices. Old school fella here.
Apparently there are better options nowadays especially comin from ruger
@@StonrMoose69 I’ve got ‘em too.
Yes , the Bersa Thunder is very Fire arm everyday 👍🏼👏🤠🇧🇷 SC
IF I were to get a .380, I'd probably go w/the Ruger Security .380. Great price, good capacity and I haven't seen ONE negative review.....even Honest Outlaw loves it and he's not a fan of most Ruger pistols.
Own one. You won’t regret it. Love mine. 💯
@@nastynati3501I own one as well; I have no complaints.🔥🔫
Hell yeah. Got the beretta 80x and it shoots so much better than my micro 9s/380s.
The Beretta 80x is one I want.
This was an interesting comparison, thanks for posting this.
- There is a 12-round 380 mag for the Sig. In addition, I have run all of the 9mm mags through the 380 and they have all worked without a single malfunction (12 round 9mm, 15 round 9mm, and X-Maco mag). But for concealed carry, I will stick with the 12 round 380 mag to be safe.
- The 365-380 with the Wilson combat grips and the WC 3 oz weights is a very fast and accurate weapon, and fun to shoot.
I just got my Security 380 (Gold Barrel model) and love it! The grip and weight is fantastic! Its the same frame as the 9mm Compact model, so both fit into the same holster size.
Plus, you can't beat the price and Ruger makes great quality guns!
(I still want the Beretta 80x, and even the older model Cheetah!)
The Bersa Thunder .380 is a favorite here. Both the wife and daughter own them. The Tunder .380 CC drops deep into pants pocket and doesn't snag during removal. They easily fit small hands and big hands and have an optional magazine extension to give bigger hands that extra space for your pinky finger without making it a problem for CC. Inside and outside waistband and shoulder holsters are easy to find for them. Love the single/double action and the de-cocking safety. Magazine release is solid but easy to use. They're easy to rack. It's a great all around choice.
380's a great option. Good to see more on the market. Thanks👍!
DITTO! 👍
.380ACP is awesome and is my only edc!
@@zanelittlegray right on!
@@patrickrossetti7109 Mine's a Glock 42. Perfect for my hand. How about yours? My friend likes Ruger.
@@zanelittlegray the 42 is my favorite. Perfect size plus it's a Glock!
@@patrickrossetti7109
Exactly!
There's a crowd of gun-owners nowadays that troll against Glock, and I believe it's jealousy-based, like saying bad things about the most popular guy or gal on campus just because they're more popular than the detractor.
Glock checks all the boxes IMO, and the 42 with its perfect size & weight balance is a great example of that!
The Sig does have 12 round magazines available. When you purchase the magazine, it comes with two floor plates; one with a “sleeve” to give a good full grip to the standard 365 grip frame, and one without a sleeve for use with a 365X grip frame (which is how I have my P365-380 set up).
🇺🇸
I used to carry a Ruger LCPII as a BUG/Summer pocket carry. However, I upgraded to a Glock 42 for several reasons: the G42 is more robust, has useable sights, and gives me the option to add a 300-lumen WML. While not as thin and light as the Ruger, it rides beautifully in a pocket or IWB holster.
Have the Sig 380, it's my edc in a iwb Vedder holster. Can also pocket carry. Very accurate, point and shoot handgun. Have several other handguns, pistol and revolver, in several calibers, but the Sig 380 is my favorite.
I pocket carry the Ruger LCP Max in gym shorts when working out or in warmer weather, and I LOVE it! I got a Cerakoted version to stop rust, and it weighs so little that I can easily tie my gym shorts up tight and still lift weights with it in my pocket. When I have pants with a belt, I carry a Shield Plus, which I far prefer to carry and shoot. Different guns for different situations.
I have nearly no interest in 380 for myself, but I’ll watch a sootch video on anything. I like to learn even when it’s not a gun I want personally
Bought a Bersa Thunder single-stack back in 2008. I cannot make it malfunction, and I've tried. It just shoots and shoots. I stopped carrying it two years later when I came across a Kel-Tec PF9, a pistol that was highly sought and hard to find at the time.
I acquired the LCP-MAX the day after it was announced, having stopped by Bass Pro to buy the .22LR version I'd seen a few days before. The MAX was in the case where the Lite-Rack had been. I had some issues with the slide not locking back while using the included ten-round magazine. I had sourced a 12-round one before going to the range, and that one worked fine. I contacted Ruger and they misunderstood me and sent me another 12-round magazine. Later, the ten-round one started locking the slide back properly when empty.
I'm happy with the Ruger, though my Kel-Tec P32 still gets the nod for "light carry" more often.
I've been sleeping on ruger. Been looking for something for my fiance, and always thought the shield ez was way to go, but that security is so much nicer in the hand and much smoother overall.
I own one. And I love it. I’m older and have arthritis in both hands. And boy is she smooth. Just my personal preference.
Now, if they would just drop the price to a reasonable amount for 380 ammo
It’s reasonable here in Georgia 🤷🏽♂️
@@O.S.O.M.Education What is reasonable to you?
If you shop carefully... how does $0.23 / round sound to you?
@donnyarmstrong9559 it can get as high as 40$ a box of 50rounds here in waahington state. I found a couple boxes for 30$ each so i just picked up 2 boxes.
It is kind of an expensive caliber.
Good comparison Sootch. You need to do more of these.
I pocket carry the Ruger LCP max (12 round mag) in a sticky holster especially just running errands around town, I wear size L to XL gloves depending on the manufacturer so yes the LCP max is small but I overlook it because here in hot, sunny, humid FL, sometimes a larger weapon is a pain to carry especially if you wear basketball shorts to run out real quick. I have a few hundred rounds through it no issues, I keep it clean and it seems to just fine, for 7-10 yards it’s a solid little thing just my pov that’s it.
I have the Glock 42 and SW Bodyguard.38. I'm going to checkout the LCP Max this weekend. I love how small it was. I had the original LCP and it was so snappy I had to get rid of it. Thanks for another great review!
a wonderful review! thank you! I have the Bersa Thunder+ , later I've bought the Ruger LCP max - just today I bought the Ruger Security-380 by feel - and NOW I seeing your VIDEO - there are no coincidences . . . . THANK YOU! - that's crazy! greetings from Oregon :)
Thanks to Lehigh extreme, Underwood Xtreme Defense, Gorilla Silverback and the like ammo. 380acp is back. Ballistics same as 115gr 9mm 14-17 inches.
Nice guns sootch, excellent vídeo, my support from Brazil, 380 ACP is the easiest caliber for a semi-auto pistol that a civilian can buy, if you want to buy a 9mm of a 45, good luck, the process will be very complicated.
Bersa for the big WIN!
.I got a bersa 380 & then I got two more and then a bersa Plus. So I really enjoy the bersa thunder series
Got the LCP on my back at all times. Very comfortable and conceiled. Small leather holster on my belt next to middle belt loop. Never know it's there.
But YOU'LL know it's there if you ever get knocked on your butt/back!
I’ve got all five, but I like my little Colt, and my Browning, also. Getting older, and had a real challenge getting the Sig 365 p380 into rack, to reassemble! Arthritis sucks!
OUTSTANDING reviews as always, second to none, unbiased and very professional.
I have a ruger security 380 and trust it with my life!
I also have the 'lemon' yellow Uplula mag loader. My close-up vision isn't what it was 10 years ago, and the yellow makes it easier for me to see the black magazine positioned inside while loading, than the standard black Uplula.
I just bought a G25 for my daughter, and despite not being a Glock guy I can tell you it is better than all of those.
I read you can’t buy extra mags. Otherwise, I would get one
I wish they released a Gen 5 variant of it.
@@TenuredHarvard I have a dozen. The mag shack has them in stock.
@@AzayBae that would have been ideal for sure, but I think it’s still worth it.
@@twrolI got a security 380 rn. After I vet it I may give it over to a family member then I can check out the G25 maybe. I never dug the finger grooves but maybe I'll like 'em.
I have the Security-380, want the Thunder Plus.
1 Note about the Security-380, It IS optics ready if you get the Galloway dive-tail plate.
I had the Thunder Plus. Loved the pistol, but didn’t like the magazine disconnect safety. Sold it because of that. I didn’t mind the frame safety because I just left if off when carrying. With that first double action pull, you could still carry it safety without the safety on.
I saw one company that does optic cuts for them too. I wish my eyes liked red dots.
"Dove" tail plate! Yes they do, along with a flat trigger. And MAY soon be adding a +2 magazine bumper!? Which would be nice to drop on that 10 round magazine.
Same here, I have the Security 380 for my wife, gonna get the Thunder Plus
I have the lcp max love it can fit it anywhere and it always runs. Thank you all for you do buddy. Stay Frosty..
SEMPER FI
I have the Bersa 380 CC. Fun and accurate.
It's easy to see why you love the cheetah. I bought one and absolutely love it
I didn't know Ryobi made a rapid-loader . . . jk.
I love my Bersa Combat Plus, but, I know I will eventually pickup an 80x. .380 has come a long way.
Thanks for the comparisons.
Thanks for the very informative and informational video. The only .380 that I own are the ruger security 380 and the lcp max. They are both highly dependable handguns. The security 380 is so much fun at the range, the lcp max is my primary carry. The beretta cheetah is too expensive but could pick one up if used and a lower price (it would have to be made in Italy).
Meanwhile.....
Just bought a GLOCK G25 Gen3 .380 9mm kurz.
4.02" barrel, G19 size frame for my Lg/ExLg size hands, 15 and 17 round magazines. Glock goodness.
Rest in Peace
Gaston Glock 🇦🇹 🥀
Thanks Sootch for great gun entertainment.
CD in New SigHampshire
You forgot Grand Power ... I recently bought the Grand Power P380, it's Glock 19 size with 15rds .. Grand Power does have a smaller double stack the CP380, I think with a 3.3" bbl
Also the Glock 25 and 28 but I guess he dont have these and cant present them. Grand Power also have the "ROXOR" This maybe is the only full size 380 that exist.
@@Gieszkanne, Grand Power does have the LP380 which has a 4.6" bbl also
@@richki.24 The Roxor barrel is even 5 inch!
@@Gieszkanne, nice, I will say I am glad I bought my P380, it shots wondefully
Good overview. I carried an LCP Max for a while, but the Sig P365 9mm, at almost the same size, took over that duty. That being said, I occasionally carry the original LCP when dressing light.
Glaring omission: S&W EZ 380. bought wife the Perfomance Center versiont racks and shoots smooth as silk
Respectfully, not an omission. He's reviewing double stacked .380 handguns. I agree with your, the S&W Shield 380 EZ is an excellent pistol, but sadly, only single stack.
@@brianc1701they have a shield EZ plus 380 and 9mm 13 +1
And 30 SC plus 16 +1
Shield EZ 380 / 9mm 8+1
30 SC 10+1
Great job brother! Thanks fir sharing with us.
God bless all here.
Great comparison of the 380. Thank you.
Will you be reviewing the g25 and g28?
Been watching your channel long time. You’re a true pro sir.
I’m not a 380 fan because I deal with wild life issues living on a farm and it doesn’t have enough power to deal with what I have to put down. Interesting video though.
I went with the Beretta. I’m 80. The slide is easy to rack. Thanks.
Awesome 380 acp guns nice sig p365 and ruger guns thanks for sharing sootch00
Glock 42, is nice and tiny for summer carry. You'll have to get extended mags as it only carries 6 rounds but then extension means more size.
I wish more companies would try to put out Bodyguard 380/LCP sized pocket pistols. All the ones out there seem to either have garbage triggers or quality control issues.
Agree, Walthers have failures to feed.
Awesome presentation, Sootch. I just purchased the Ruger Security 380. I love it and am pleased with the feel, optics, trigger safety and the capacity.
A 380 does not have the power for more deader …. It only kills. Try to find a test dummy for a 380 ballistic test. Keep in mind they tested cartridges in the olde days on pigs not gelatin. 380 worked fine.
The 9mm Lugar shoots further than 380. It will pass thru easier and thus require an expanding hollow point. In military use pass thru is not an issue. It is a benefit.
When law enforcement moved from revolvers to pistols more bullets ended up in the intended target. The debate over (1) shot stop ability of a 9mm vs 38 or even 357 magnum began. Did officers shoot more because they had more than 6 ? It is very natural to shoot multiple hits. It is also typical training today.
Very good points @livincincy4498!
I used to have the Bersa single stack version. I would put that thing in my pocket and forget about it all the time.
Sooch,
Great data, love the Beretta 80X, absolute beautiful firearm.
Be well
I have security 380...Glad I made the Purchase!😂😊😊
LCP Max is the best, I put rear nights on mine and even have a Viridian RTL light, upgraded trigger and hammer spring. I love that little thing I have a pocket holster it’s great in shorts and sweatpants and anything you can’t wear a belt for
You can get a laser for the Ruger LCP MAX. Viridian makes a laser that is an instant on laser, it activates when you draw it from the holster. I have it, and it works perfectly.
I don’t know why but that Beretta is pure class and so is that Bersa.
excellent, this guy knows his guns, no B/S here.....What he missed was the sig p232, but it is harder to work the side...
Come on ruger be the first to make a 380 carbine...i know you can do it...and start a new trend in 380 carbines...and bring that 380 price in ammo down...😅
Hell yeah lol
High point has a 380 carbine it's not double stack it's a single stack but it's actually a pretty nice little gun
Maybe like a takedown bullpup 😏
Sootch, you are a great reviewer! Thanks!
Don't forget about the wonderful Astra A-60. A great double-stack 380 and you can make replacement magazines from Beretta mags with a little mod.
Have the LCP Max too , carry it all the time just wondering what pocket holster you use for yours ?
sootch00 Best Gun Reviewer on UA-cam. Great analysis and commentary. You are a Firearms Rock Star!
@Sootch00 any chance you'll do a review of the Glock 25?
The little Ruger makes a great ankle pistol! Winter wear!
Very nice comparison, I'm going have to go with the Sig 365 for being my pocket gun.
Excellent review Sootch00!
Love my Bersa Firestorm. Such a cool little pistol
Haven't tried the Ruger LCP Max, but love my LCP. It's my go anywhere carry, and (much to my surprise) incredibly reliable
Best 380 is a model 84 FS the grip angle is nicer than the 80X …If you’re young and want to buy something really good buy a model 84 cheetah FS it will become your favorite gun
Lcp max is the new king
My first pistol was the Bersa Thunder 380 Combat Plus after much research 4 years ago. My budget was tight, wanted something my wife, daughters, and I could use as I have a weak left hand due to nerve damage. As any Bersa owner knows, magazines are hard to come by and I lucked out picking up 4 Bersa magazines at a gun show. It's my EDC in a crossbody bag as I'm in a car all day and appendix carry was uncomfortable. The only thing I've added is a Viridian laser that's actually made for the regular Thunder, but with my Dremel tool I was able to affix to my Combat Plus. Luckily I have never had to use it for self-defense, but I get to the range once or twice a month to practice drawing from a seated position, as well as other positions. I have since acquired a Canik TP9 SC which I keep at home as well as a AR15 & a 9mm PCC, but the Bersa is with me at all times I step outside.
I also carry the 238 and your right. As a true pocket pistol it is a great gun. My first 238 was the HD model but like a idiot I sold it because it was a little heavier than I wanted. Now I have the 238 sport model it's a great gun no issues.
Some manufactures make 380 cartridges in the 1100-1200 FPS range depending on barrel length..
And, liberty Civil Defense 9mm at least claims 2040 FPS and 462 FPE.
I was going to say also, Liberty Civil defense 9mm claims at least 2040 FPS and 462 FPE.
Home defense is an AR, shotty, full size Glock and a bunch of knives.
Self defense while outside are the 380s and. 38s and the 9s.
Depending on what I am wearing.
The 380 ammo of today is way different than the 380 ammo from 30 years ago people who don’t like this round don’t know what they talking about….
Guess what. Forgot my 365 380 mags for a range day. Had my 9mm for xl. My 380 365 accepted rounds, fired flawlessly!!!
Beretta sent me the 80x as a replacement for a 21a.
It's pretty nice. The dovetail does kinda bite. They should've rounded it out more, maybe I'll do it myself...
Otherwise shoots great, feela good. Solid piece
😂 the open slide really helps in reliability on The Beretta, except when that complex trigger mechanism fails, and the Pistol will NOT FIRE !
I have the browning BDA 380 probably the OG in hicap 380 magazine pistol.
I have the ruger security 380 for home defense especially cause my wife can handle it and with me being a 3rd shift worker its very important to me that she can have something she is comfortable with but my EDC is my glock 48
The new bodyguard 2.0 takes the crown imo. Just got one and love it. I wanted to like the lcp line i had all 3 but didn't like any of them. I like a pocket 380 for backup and the bg 2.0 fits perfect
Nice review. Which one is the most accurate? With the lower power of the 380 cartridge, placement will be paramount….
I have the Ruger LCP Max for summer when I’m rocking gym shorts. 👍
I pocket carry a .380 mouse gun more often than any of my other carry guns. Less weight, ease of concealability, comfort....
Im going to get the Model 84 BB because of palmetta state arms, really cool getting italian police surplus. The model 83 CZ sounds really interesting too, especially with it using 9x18 and looking like a makarov a little
Just picked up a new Tisas Fatih in black aluminum frame with walnut grips for $299! It is a Beretta Cheetah clone with two 13 round magazines of 380 ACP.
I loved my Sig P365 380 until the recoil spring failed at about 700 rounds. Sig wanted to charge me $55 to cover return shipping to them and POSSIBLY charge me for repairs because I owned the pistol for more than a year. A local LEO Sig armorer diagnosed the problem and I ordered the recoil spring. Will NEVER buy another Sig product.
😂
I went and got a bersa thunder mines no plus but got it after i watched your video love it been watching you for a long time
Wow this must be an old video.
Better 380’s to be had now for sure.
Thanks for the great review! Always love your content.
Lcp max💯💯
When it comes to gun reviews Scootch is the man .. although after watching his reviews you will want to go out and buy a new gun😅 😂 so pick the videos you watch carefully
I’m still the Beretta and Bersa fan! I found a 9 round factory bersa thunder mag so the base model can shoot 9 plus 1 reliably. Don’t know if it’s worth getting the plus but I might just buy that one as well. Great video!
No one with compromised grip strength should ever be advised to purchase a pistol with a 2" barrel, .380 included. In comparing cases, you should mention the bullet is the same diameter, the cases differ. 9mm is a tapered case, reloaders are aware of this. Different shell holders required. Bullet expansion from a 2" barrel is a fantasy, velocity won't get you there. 3-1/2" would be a minimum for semi-reliable expansion. Consider some non-expanding solid copper like Underwood's stuff. Do your research when choosing a defense round for .380, most stuff just pokes holes with limited energy transfer.
I don’t consider a pocket pistol not being optics ready or not having a place to mount a light/lazer to be a deficiency. They are meant for pocket carry; concealment being of first importance.
Iv got the sig p365 380 but I put the standard Mischief machines alpha aluminum grip module on and run 12 round mags
I have that and the lcp. Love my friends
The ruger is not bigger than the cheetah. Only the grip is a bit longer with the extended mag.
I was Sig P2380 before it was cool. Great video.
