This is my wife’s favorite song! I heard Ed King say in an interview once that Ronnie layed down the vocals at 4am in a pitch black recording studio in one take. A moment he would never forget.
As a 64 yr old man now I can't express enough the sense of loss I felt when that plane went down in Oct of 77. Thanks for continuing to stir my soul gents ❤
I'll be 66 this year and I'll never forget seeing the evening news and hearing about it there. They were supposed to have a concert about an hour from where I live later on that month.
I hear ya. At almost 63 here, they were my favorite back in the day. Of course, we had so much great music back in the 70s, but LS really resonated with me. I was at the Oakland concert with my brother and his friend in 77, about 40 feet from the stage. Amazing show. I was crushed when the plane crashed, much like when we lost SRV.
Try reacting to cry for the badman n coming home by them ....thank you both for doing a great job much respect ..SKYNYRD NATION LIVES ON ..THE GREATEST BAND EVER .❤
Every one I knew, hung with, ever talked to was stunned when we found out about the crash. We were literally in a daze for weeks. ( some of that daze was self induced) . That being said, anyone under 35 was deeply impacted.
I was 15yrs old when the plane crashed. It was absolutely devastating. I never got the opportunity to see them live. I agree, we were all walking around in a daze.
Ones to consider: I Stand Alone - Blackfoot / Grey Ghost(studio) - Henry Paul Band / Ramblin' (live 1974) - Marshall Tucker Band / I Never Dreamed - Skynyrd Love the channel!!!!! #APBisROCKIN'
Man y’all have got to listen to Cry For The Bad Man These boys didn’t play when it comes to putting out bangers It’s almost unbelievable how truly good they really were We truly lost a blessing to music when we lost Ronnie In five short years these guys made some of the best music ever played RIP to the greatest Rockin Roll band in history As long as there’s a way to play music Skynyrd will never dye Some times when I’m listening to this band I think of how much great music we never got to hear because of that tragic day in October of 1977
I was 11 when their plane crashed, so I never got to see them live. I did see them when they reformed in 1987 with Ronnies bother Johnny on lead vocals and several original members, that concert was awesome, would have loved to see them with the whole original line up.
"You mean much more to me than just a piece of leg. Who writes this? I could never write this." - Al Cooper on Ronnie Van Zant's lyric writing abilities.
There is literally not a single bad song on this album. Its all top quality from start to finish and this for me is the best song on it. Pretty sure they recorded it at Muscle Shoals too. Be in no doubt, Lynyrd Skynyrd were the real deal.
I was lucky enough to have seen them 3 times before the crash. That was a sad and horrific day in rock history. They had quit the drugs and drinking around that time also. They were on their way! Please listen to some of their live stuff from the "One More From the Road" album. They were so TIGHT live. You will be amazed! Keep up the great Skynyrd reactions!!!
“They had quit the drugs and drinking “ 😂😂😂😂 can I have sone of what you’re having? The thought of both Allen Collins & Gary Rossington being sober in 1977 is a riot ..Pull the other one ..
Great reaction! Keep it up and I’ll keep watching! One of my favorites from them is “Am I Losing “. Just an all around l great song, like most of theirs.
Thanks for playing this one for me, guys. Soulful as hell. Ronnie is singing with his typical emotion. It just bleeds through the speakers. Guitars are singing along with him!
Lynyrd Skynyrd had so many hits on the radio in the 70s, I grew up hearing those, but I never had their albums. So I'm finding these other great LS songs along with you! Thank you for that. They really are one of my all time favorite bands. It is absolutely tragic what happened & that they weren't able to go on really. When Duane Allman died, the Allman Brothers were able to continue & they went on to make great music after he died, although you can never replace Duane. But your lead singer dying is really tough. A/C D/C did manage to keep going strong after Bon Scott died, but it's rare.
One of my favorite Skynyrd songs of all time. From the first moment I heard it waay back in the Mid 70’s as a young teen. Thank you La @ Chee for the throwback memories of my glorious teen years.
Awesome job you guys no better way to start my Monday morning then some skynard live in Florida in the 70s got to listen to this all the time thanks for this
Hey guys, I was in high school when this album came out and when they died and it was devastating. This is on my likes list as a great many other songs by this band
This is a song that's bluesy and soulful. And the guitar is not overly technical but it's smooth along with some high notes and the lyrics are simple but meaningful and exact. Ronnie's voice is perfect for this song. I love my Lynyrd Skynyrd!! ✌️🤟🤘
The real men from the Florida=Georgia ! Green Cove Springs just celebrated their 150 th anniversary and blasted Duvaaal County Line blasting Skynyrd music all night !
I was lucky to have seen them before the crash. I was a senior in high school when the plane crashed and man it killed us. All my friends were really bummed. Such great music and still is
You are right it hurt badly went the plane crashed as I was in high school at the time and big into music especially southern rock with them my favorite band behind The Stones.
Funny you should put Skynyrd behind the Stones as far as your favorites. Skynyrd did the same venue with the Stones in the mid 70's and blew the Stones off the stage. The Stones sound great on record's but they're a let down when you see them live where as Skynyrd is the only band that went overboard with their times spent rehearsing the songs on their set list's to the point that they sounded better live and the Stones were known for not putting on a good show live, that is Mick's fault because he sounded terrible live. But hey, they both created great music.
I was 17 years old when that awful plane crash happened. It was devastating to all of us diehard Skynyrd fans, and so unnecessary since the plane ran out of fuel. I was so very lucky to have seen them live, on New Year's Day 1975 in Macon, GA. I don't know if y'all have reacted to it, but "The Ballad of Curtis Loew" is a banger, for sure. Thank you for being the best of the best reactors on here.
Guys check out “First And Last “. It is a good album of some of Skynrds early songs that were recorded but never released until years after the crash. Original members.
Oh Man I have been waiting for this song Bros! I knew... I KNEW you guys were going to love this song. Thanks Bros! 😎 Edit: It was a sad day when the Freebird went down, 😢
Though there was only one original Lynyrd Skynyrd band with Ronnie on vocals, still when the band regrouped in 87 with his brother Johnny on vocals & 5 original members Ed King, Gary Rossington, Leon Wilkinson, Billy Powell, & Artimis Pyle they did justice to the original music plus the released new music beginning with the album Lynyrd Skynyrd 1991. The lineup changed over the following years & I know they have released at least 8 albums of new music as well as numerous live albums. I know many diehard Skynyrd fans are critical of the latter versions of the band, but there is something to be said about carrying on the music for newer generations. Gary Rossington the last original member passed away about a year ago & the band still tours. Hey bands change & evolve & I consider it Johnny's band since he has been fronting them for almost 40 years. As well Ricky Medlock (on guitar) was with the band in the early days before they became well known. If you check out any of their later material I suggest their 1997 album Twenty (anniversary of the plane crash) or their 1991 album. As well there is an awesome version of I Need You on their live 1987 Reunion tour album. Peace! & You guys are the Best
The original 5 members of Skynyrd: Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, Larry Junstrom, Bob Burns. Junstrom went on to be in .38 Special, Ronnie's brother Donnie's band and they had success in their own right.
I was two months away from being 17 when their plane went down, it's hard to describe the feeling of devastating loss we Skynyrd fans felt, and still do, thank you guys for keeping some of the greatest music ever written alive today
Same boat. I was 3 months past my 17th birthday and just bought Street Survivors the day it came out, which was 3 days before the crash. It’s the one with the flames on the cover which was changed shortly after to the picture of the band with a back black ground featured on the back of the original album. I still have it. It came with a red insert TOTS (Tour of the survivors) schedule. I looked it over and was all set to see them when they arrived at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto listed on there, which of course was not to be. Devastating.
Got to see them a few times, never the original members. Seen them at legend Valley in Ohio with Hank Williams Junior and Hank got so drunk sitting in the chair playing guitar on stage on whiskey he passed out. The good old days!
I just subbed on this reaction. You'll react to a fair amount of LS. Growing up in Central Florida in the 70s LS. Was then and still is my favorite band. Any suggestions given to you will be a good one. Can't go wrong with LS. Thanks for the reaction.
The original 5 members of Skynyrd: Ronnie Van Zant Gary Rossington Bob Burns Allen Collins Larry Junstrom. Junstrom went on to be in Ronnie's brother Donnie's band, .38 Special, who had success in their own right.
You guys should check out more of the songs on their last album, "street survivors." The production got much better. When the album first came out, it had flames on it, but they removed them right away because of the plane crash.
This is my wife’s favorite song! I heard Ed King say in an interview once that Ronnie layed down the vocals at 4am in a pitch black recording studio in one take. A moment he would never forget.
You're so right, when I first found out Ronnie was dead, it took my breath away. The fact that this beautiful music was gone was agonizing.
As a 64 yr old man now I can't express enough the sense of loss I felt when that plane went down in Oct of 77. Thanks for continuing to stir my soul gents ❤

"Man, that was a banger!" -- Airplay Beats to every Skynyrd song they hear.
They have a lot of bangers!!
@@AirplayBeats No doubt!

Soooo Good. Never a bad Skynrd tune!
I love seeing reactions to Skynyrd music. Thanks so much. My music growing up as a teenager. It makes me so happy seeing younger folks enjoying it!!
I am telling you guys You will love Cry For The Bad Man,Double Trouble,Am I Losing Again and Trust

This is such an underrated Jam !!!!!
Who knows what would have been if not for that tragedy. Could only imagine. Rest in Peace.
This has always been my favorite track from Lynyrd Skynyrd.🔥
Mine too… then Was I Right or Wrong

Nothing ever out of place even live. This song Tonnes singing reminds me of Paul Rodgers.
On The Hunt is another great song y'all should consider.
I suggested the wrong song. LOL. I meant to suggest I 0:01 Ain't The One.
@@jasonstacy5587 They are both great songs so you can't go wrong.
They got so many great songs but I promise you this is always been one of my top-tier Lynyrd Skynyrd songs. Especially back in the day and dating.

That sound, that groove is a white-hot slow burn. Ronnie’s vocals are so intense.
I was 11 when their plane crashed, so I never got to see them live. I did see them when they reformed in 1987 with Ronnies bother Johnny on lead vocals and several original members, that concert was awesome, would have loved to see them with the whole original line up.

Nothing but banger after banger the best band ever yea man RIP Ronnie

I love watching you two react to some Skynyrd.
