"I know a little" sucks and the last album was very commercial and hardly rocked... otherwise, A GREAT BAND that I was lucky enough to see in small theatre's here in NYC of all places!! Skynyrd 1974 @ Academy of Music 14TH STREET NYC was as good a show as I've seen... right up there w./ Zeppelin and better LIVE than Pink Floyd.
When I heard this as a deep cut, I was down. The slow vibe and the singing of it just put you in a chill mood and a solid slow jam for when you need it.
Not one off the first five albums which happen to be the top five albums from the band. Same with their top 20 songs all pre77. Not one cover band single or album up there Augusta Ga
Dam Biz u've outdone ureself tonight. This is a different but great great side from Ronnie. Straight from his hart u can feel his pain. Great,Great song. Fantastic pick Biz.
It doesn’t matter what song you listen to from this band They don’t have a bad song and I mean not one bad song These guys are the definition of southern rock It is absolutely amazing how many great songs this band had in a short period of time From 1973 until the plane crash in 1977 In this short amount of time This band made a lifetime of music in 5 years that will never be forgotten You can close your eyes and put your finger on any one song and you can relate to it or Will like it Best Rock Band that’s ever played music If you would like to listen to more great songs from this band Listen to Poison Whiskey,Am I Losing Again,All I Can Do Is Write It In A Song,Searching, Swamp Music,Trust,Down South Jukin,Traveling Man,I’m A Country Boy and One More Time and the list goes on and on This band is absolutely incredible It’s almost unbelievable that one band could have so many great songs in such a short period of time RIP TO A LEGENDARY BAND
@@ATO19657 Man if that plane had crashed on that tragic day in history There would not even be an argument about the best rock band of all time Ronnie is one of the best song writers ever and they say that he never wrote down any lyrics to a song I have heard of a photogenic memory But this is next level memory I have never heard of anyone that writes music to never write down any lyrics and be able to remember this many lyrics after first trying to put the words with the instruments To me Allen Collins doesn’t get the recognition that he should have I believe until Steve G was hired to play with the band I believe that Collins was the most talented guitarist of the band But this is just my opinion I have never even heard of another band that had so many great songs and in the short amount of time that all of these songs were written is almost unbelievable I sit around and wonder about all of the great music we never got to hear because of this awful day that we lost everyone that died in the plane crash All of the greats we have lost over the years is crazy Ronnie, Dwayne, Allman, and SRV just two name a few RIP TO THE LEGENDS who’s lives were cut down in their prime is very sad But thanks for everything they ever did for music period I knew the first time that I listened to Skynyrd that this would always be one of my all time favorite bands
Song fact told by Ed King (rhythm guitar here): ”Allen & Gary were recording their dual guitar leads one day when Ronnie came into the studio and said "It's time to do the vocal." So everybody dropped what they were doing, set up one microphone out in the middle of the room, and Ronnie did the vocal in one pass (with one "punch-in" to correct a mistake).”- Ed King It’s a friend of Ed, Mike Porter, who plays those wonderful drums. Ed plays both bass and rhythm guitar (Fender Stratocaster through a Princeton amp). The rhythm section is so f##kin brilliant! Lynyrd Skynyrd, the original band with Ronnie, never played this song live, but the later tribute band has done it.
Brotherman Biz, thanks for this deep cut that never gets played. Ronnie had a way with vocals that flowed right through you to your heart and bones. We appreciate all your great songs and heartfelt commentary. You gotta lotta love for you and your reaction/review out here, my friend.
so glad you did the studio version of this for several reasons. One, there are two Lynyrd Skynyrd bands, pre1977 and post 1977. Ronnie Van Zant was figuratively Lynyrd Synyrd and he died in a 1977 plane crash. Lots of people did not want them to continue but eventually they did and we now have a non original Lynyrd Skynyrd without the main ingredient, Ronnie Van Zant. Another reason is they didn't have a lot of live recorded footage of the deeper tracks, there's not much video footage of the og band and what is there of pro quality is of only three concerts. The biggest reason for me to encourage reaction videos on using studio recordings of most Lynyrd Skynyrd is because the newer non original band has played live some songs that the original band either simply did not play live or doesn't have audio or video footage of. I hope this helps since not allot of people are aware of the history there. Once again so glad you used the studio recordings on this... 🙏
Yeah, this is a good one. For some more variety with them: Things Goin On A funky little number with an important social message. Railroad Song Top notch storytelling and a clever musical device with fantastic drumming. Honky Tonk Night Time Man A fantastic jam from their final album right before the plane crash, where Steven Gaines really shows off his guitar chops.
Thank you for doing this 1 Biz! Think I Commented you to do this 1 about 20 times 😂 They cut Ronnie's vocals 1 time in the middle of the night in a pitch black studio. Makes it so much better to me
I LOVE this song, written by Gary Rossington & Ronnie van Zant. Mr. Rossington just passed away recently. He was also the subject of "That Smell." My suggestion for your next reaction would be "The Ballad of Curtis Loew,' a song that played tribute to an old Black man who influenced Lynyrd Skynyrd's music. It's so poignant.
Actually it turned out to be about Shorty Medlocke. Ricky Medlocke's grandfather after all these years thinking there was actually a real Curtis Lowe. Respect
Searching is a good faster paced ballad, great guitar work. A really deep track that doesn't get talked about much. now for a groove...you have to react to Same ole Blues ..that one could def be sampled by any rap artist, I'm kinda surprised it hasn't yet ..
I dedicated this song to my fiance, Patrick who has been in prison for 24 years. This will be our wedding song, and describes our love for each other. I love you and I need you, and I miss you more and more everyday.
Man you should do a long stream and just take requests so many bangers for you to discover and the best part is i can see the love and respect you have for different music thats what its all about!!
Brother, I love your reactions to all these cool tunes. I thought you'd get a kick out of 2:31 "TheStake" by the Steve Miller Band . I'd love to see your reaction to it.
This is very bluesy, but, if you wanna hear thier best slow , down and dirty blues song, check out CHEATIN' WOMAN off of the NOTHIN FANCY album. I think you already did ON THE HUNT off of that album
They don’t have a bad song. Love them so much. 🥰🎶🥰
Agreed. The Best!!!

Love this great heartfelt song 🎧 low key but memorable. Coming Home is another great one 👍
I remember listening to this on 8 track and cassette and albums . I cut my teeth listening to this band and they're still my favorite band to today .
I can't think of a single bad song from the original lineup of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Not one off the first five albums which happen to be the top five albums from the band. Same with their top 20 songs all pre77. Not one cover band single or album up there Augusta Ga
Skynyrd and the Eagles are the greatest American bands of all time.
That's why RVZ and Allen Collins WAS Lynyrd Skynyrd. No RVZ and AC = No Lynyrd Skynyrd sound.
@@rebelwithacause3574let's not forget Gary, he also co-wrote many songs with Ronnie

The Blues baby ! Nothing they couldn’t play or sing Biz.
Yeah, this is a good one. For some more variety with them:
Things Goin On
A funky little number with an important social message.

Honky Tonk Night Time Man

What really sets that tone with the song that it’s in 3/4 tempo. Has a Waltz feel to it.
Biz u gotta do Coming Home another Great,Great song. Its overlooked like this 1 but it's the shit bro!!!
God bless you sir. Thank you for this song. I was lost. You helped me snap up again. Thanx bro.
One of the greatest bands ever. They're in my top 5
The band Steel Woods did this song and absolutely killed it. I was shocked they pulled it off so well. 🔥
Is that the one with Ashley Monroe on the live video? Because the guitar work on that was simply outstanding.
" You Got That Right " ✌💞
You need to listen to "I never dreamed " by Skynyrd.. one of their last great songs just before the crash..
Loved Street Survivors from front to back. My all time favourite album.
Skynyrd could do it all! My favorite band ever!
Got to see them live once, and still one of the best concert I've ever been to. Never be another like them original version only
Jessica is the other side of love song. Written to one of the band members baby daughter Jessica. Amazing instrumental.
This was a good choice. That whole album is great. All of their first six albums are amazing.
My band will play this sometimes. We call it Ooo baby.😄
Yea I saw them do this live twice in 1976. Yep it was that goid.
Thank you for doing this 1 Biz! Think I Commented you to do this 1 about 20 times 😂 They cut Ronnie's vocals 1 time in the middle of the night in a pitch black studio. Makes it so much better to me

This one has that genius sound to the music 🔥
Such a great deep cut from this band. You can't go wrong with them.
Man they never made a song I couldn’t listen to over & over !

One of their best songs imo ♥️🎸🎶🔥🎤♥️ Check out another good one that nobody suggests very much from them called “One More Time” 🔥

Man you should do a long stream and just take requests so many bangers for you to discover and the best part is i can see the love and respect you have for different music thats what its all about!!
IF you like this bluesy side of Skynard then you need to give Four Walls of Raiford a try. I bet a lot of these peeps here would agree
With the 4th of July quickly approaching you should do That Ain’t My America or Red, White & Blue. It’s the new band but still 2 great songs.
Biz! Check out early Skynyrd tunes Need All My Friends & Lend A Helping Hand.
This a slow bop banger!!!!
