Oh my Lord. Bless you times 10,000. LOL I have been studying this for days and you helped me understand it in 1 hour. I love how you get excited about breaking it down for us to understand. I was about to drop this Quantitative Reasoning class until I saw this. THANK YOU!!!
Oh my god!! I LOVED your tutoring so much!!!! Is so simple, clean and very specified. I have encounter tutoring videos in which even the speaking sound makes me feel uncomfortable and some tutors stutters a lot while explaining… Thank you so much for your time and effort. You’re doing an excellent job by helping us understand math in a very clear and simple way 👏🏻
WOW...where have you been all of my academic life??? You have made my mathematical life so much simpler to understand. Being a half a century old, and returning to higher education is not easy, especially when doing so online. But all of your videos have made this transition sweeter...and for that I thank you kind Sir. I thank you. I am attending college online, and it is taxing to say the very least, but I am not a quitter, hence the reason for my constant viewing of your videos. My final exam in math is due tomorrow, so I am diligently soaking up all I can now, in order to pass. I do not want to merely pass, as I am an A student at the present time. I am attaining high 90s in every class , and this will most assuredly assist in my maintaining that GPA. Oh and, BTW...I did not forget you. As soon as my finances are available, {hopefully very soon now}, I will be donating to my very own personal virtual tutor..."Mr. Whittington".
Isreba Aiken I'm so elated to hear these videos are assisting you on your journey to a perfect GPA! I pray you do well in every academic endeavor. Please know that any amount you are ever able to donate will be greatly appreciated and will go towards publishing more free math tutorials!
This is the best tutoring video I have ever come across! I mean they all are good here on UA-cam, but this was cool because we can concentrate on the work and not the person doing the work in the video. I like your program and am going to continue to watch your tutoring videos continuously. Blessings to you all and have a wonderful weekend!
I'm bad at math......until I discovered your channel 2 years ago! Thanks a bunch Fort bend tutoring, You don't know how many people you have helped with their studies. You're the best Math tutor in the world and I believe you should have more subscribers expected from a tutoring channel.
I highly recommend this video. His explanations are clear and logically sequenced. Mr. Whit's voice is lively and reflects his passion for what he is teaching.
Mr. Whitt, you are AWESOME! I used to live in Rosenberg, so Fort Bend Tutoring caught my eye. I'm glad it did, because you saved me this semester. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for making finding the slope of a linear equation so clear. Looking forward to watching more of your videos throughout this semester.
Thank you Mr. Whitt. I have really been struggling after we had and instructor change in the middle of this semester. You make everything so easy to understand.
I am so glad I ran across this video on how to find slope of a linear equation. It can be confusing at times due to the steps of trying to solve. There are really so many ways but Fort Bend's is the best way, ookk! Thanks lol.
Excellently done, Mr. Witt! I have used your video in a wikiHow article on learning the different equations of a line, and the formula for slope and I am positive it will be extremely well received!
great video I like how you broke down everything so well I've been having problems with all the lil nit picky rules that comes with this your my new Tudor man
Fantastic. I loved how you showed a "Real World Problem" on the last example. Also, I can't wait to buy your mugs. Unfortunately, I'm poor. When I get a few bucks, your mugs are on my list.
Dear Mr Whitt, This is my second time watching this video in preparation for the Florida Teacher Cert Exam (FTCE - GK) and it's really helping me to understand something I was so afraid of for so long. (I've always hated maths..."terrified" is more like it...lol). You may have heard (or seen news reports) that so many aspiring teachers cannot get certified because of failing the math portion of the GKE. No matter what a person intends to teach he/she must pass all sections of this exam (....and some of us left high school a long, long time ago). Your videos are the most straightforward I've seen so far, but when I get stuck on a problem from my practice book I have to search and search for a video to help me with my exact situation. Do you offer an entire FTCE math prep course? You explain things so much better than this book I bought and all the prep courses I've attended so far....Just saying..... Anyways, Thanks again! Mrs. P
Hello Mrs. P! Happy 2 hear the videos are helpful. The only prep I currently offer is through online tutorials. You can find more information at FBTMath.com .
Okay I am stumped. I have a math book that says tell which equation each graph represents. explain your reasoning. It says the graphs below represent y=2x and y=2x+1. The question asks me to find whether the relationship between X and Y is linear, exponential,or neither. How do I go about this?
Larry "Doc of Whittington", I miss Shirley Liquor's intro of "Not posting something ig'nant." Where's Shirley? I take my credential test next week. Thanks again!

Hello Mr. Whitt. I am stuck on finding the numbers for linear equations on a graph. I am confused as to how to find the x y axis in the equation to make pairs. for example y=1/2x+4. Thank you. Your videos have been really helpful and I tell anybody that will listen to watch your videos for GREAT math help.

your videos are so helpful and well explained that i started to love math now.. Can you do one please about scale factor or function please? thanks for the videos again. everyone who wants to learn good math should subscribed.
Larry, question on problem 4 of STANDARD FORM OF LINEAR EQUATION. When subtracting 3x from each side of equation -3x + 2y = 6, why is the new equation 2y = -3 + 6 and not 2y = 6 - (-3x) ? Curious.
+chris crawford The goal I set was to put the equation in slope-intercept form which is y=mx+b. The benefit is so that you can quickly identify the slope and/or y-intercept. Your example would not be in slope-intercept form.
Hello, I am trying to find a video on how to find the equation of a line with a specific slope given 2 points. For example, one of the questions I am looking at is "find the equation of the line with slope 4 that passes through the point (-2, -10).

So after you form your Rise over Run, it became Integers for question B?
Are you referring to question 2b or another question from the video?
Fort Bend Tutoring 2B
Plug the values into the formula and simplify. Your result may or may not be an integer. Sometimes it will be a fraction.
Yeah, I know. Thanks
I have a question. When you were in elementary and middle and high school were you as good as math as you were before?
I was okay, but got better with practice (and paying attention in class lol).
LoL. I could imagine that. I'm in middle school.
at 11:08 min how did you get the 2/4 it goes like this 5/4 + 1/2 = 5/4 + 2/4

where did he get the 2/4 in 5/4 + 2/4??? in 11:19

Can a slope be reduced?

+Game Mode JM Yes! It is!
I have this assignment and this mathematics equation is troubling me could you please help me. What is the slope of : x +2 y + 8 = 0
Solve for y and the number in front of the variable x is the slope.
Shouldn't 6-3x be just 3x? Please correct me if I'm wrong
Hello Jacqueline! Since 6 doesn’t have the variable x, it’s not a like term and therefore can’t combine with -3x. Thus, we write it side-by-side as -3x + 6 or 6 - 3x.
Love it
Love you Precy!
If the slope of the line through (-k,5) and (4,k) is -1/2, find k?
My teacher is asking me this but I don't know how
Label the points the same as in the video. Then plug in the values and solve for k using cross multiplication.
Shouldn’t question(2c) -7-4= -3 not -11?
