People often completely forget about the NWOOHM . There was Shok Paris, Breaker , Havoc ( no not the 2000s Thrash Metal band), Destructor, and Black Death plus 100 lesser known bands from 1983 - 1988 all part of the New Wave of Ohio Heavy Metal, most released albums on the Auburn label. England had the NWOBHM, Sweden had the NWOSHM, the NWOSSDM, and the NWOGSDM , Florida and Buffalo NY had the Death Metal, The Bay Area and Germany had the Thrash Metal, the Sunset Strip had the Hair Metal, and Ohio had the Speed Metal. Black Death was an integral part of the NWOOHM scene. And Chicago had a huge Doom Metal scene that flourished between 1981 and 1984 that included Witchslayer, Thrust ( although not Doom Metal but Metal) , Zoetrope, War Cry , and Trouble
I saw them also in Cleveland. Some place on the East Side. It was a great show! I spoke to them at the end, and they seemed like pretty cool guys. Very confident in what they were doing.
When trying to find info on someone but end up learning of another band 🤯🤯 fvckn wow!!! This is amazing!! Another dope band with not enough recognition!!

Sean Steel because the music industry is RACIST especially during this time in the 80s NO ONE would touch a heavy metal band with black people in it that was until Living Color broke the barrier with their music.
I got into Metal really early,,,I tried to start a all Black Metal band in Chicago,,,had lots of curiosity and some resentment,,but we can join together regardless of race, religion,or orientation,,,WE'RE ALL BOUND BY THE SWORD!!!!! HAILZ!!!!!
Very small talent pool to draw from in the area. If a member quit....it was difficult to find a replacement member of the same desired to play metal and also be black. These guys were ahead of their time
Ahead of their time indeed! I agree with what you say but I can't help wondering why it would matter if they replaced a band member with, say, a white guy. These guys kick ass and that is what's important. Metal is for everyone.

Trve Black metal. I'm saying this as a black goth metalhead guy myself.
I would love to see a band like this today. Pure classic metal.
They're still around.

They're were around way before Living Color and Black Death should have gotten a lot more than credit.
@@roxannestorm2616 They were about 100 times more interesting than Living Color and their political BS
@@godetonter4764 exactly and Black Death is 20 times more heavier than Living Color.
I don't know why black people are not reacting to this band. They would become nuts while listening to this masterpiece.
@I Am Rod fuck yes brother!
They just serve boring rapper songs
@I Am Rod same
We're right here man. Always have been. 🤘🏿🤘🏿
Depends on who you ask, lotta white people like rap too.
Body Count is almost like a halfway between classic heavy metal and gangster rap.
Saw them in a club in Cleveland back in the early 80s. They killed it! One of the better concerts I've seen.
I saw them also in Cleveland. Some place on the East Side. It was a great show! I spoke to them at the end, and they seemed like pretty cool guys. Very confident in what they were doing.
These guys kill it with this 80s heavy metal pose + this song wicked!
When trying to find info on someone but end up learning of another band 🤯🤯 fvckn wow!!! This is amazing!! Another dope band with not enough recognition!!
So much wah, so much madden. I love it!! I remember reading about this band in Dio's heavy metal encyclopedia.
FINALLY! I REMEMBERED THIS BAND BUT FORGOT THEIR NAME!
Great sound black brothers
Hello ,, This Is The REAL TRUE Rock N Roll,, The WAY It Was Meant To Be Played and Heard...There Really is Great Rocking At Midnight and Every Other Time of Day and Night
Sounds Awesome! Reminds me of Max Plänck, a band from early 1980’s Seattle area.
TRVE BLACK METAL
@Christopher Campos You sound mad, take a joke not a dick.
I stumbled on this band while rooting around on Wikipedia, This band definitely needs to be heard, Hellfuckinyeah!!!\₩/
I like it... it is rough, raw, and proper heavy metal. I never knew about this band till I saw a post on facebook and came here first to listen.
It's like NWOBHM played right.
Check out bad brains. It's more punk tho.
I'm here because of a meme and I'm leaving out wanting more of this awesome band.
Only wish i could of actually seem them play! Excellent sounding!
This is shockingly good.
Hey Mr. michabax! Thanks. Very rare, especially in February of 2023. Excellent Channel. Top notch. Blessings! ☀️
Same riff as Doctor Doctor by UFO in some parts 🤘 cool song though
Although the recording could be better, that's high quality music for sure.
Wow, they are amazing
Were they around before the band Sound Barrier?
A real band of Defenders of The Faith ♥️
Okay, this is actually awesome. 😃 I saw them referenced in some silly memes, and I wanted to check them out.
That's how I got to be here. A Facebook meme. These guys are good. I wish there were more to see.
This................is fuckin' awesome!
Only knew this band from the meme. Surprised at how good they are.
This is actually really good.
Where was I? So awesome!
That picture almost seems like it could be from an 80s SNL skit about how unusual an all black heavy metal band would be.
That is the perfect description for this picture.
There's another promo shot of this band where the frontman is carrying a skull. That looks even whackier. Such a great band.
Yeah I've never seen any band of metal with all black members so tbh it's why I clicked-on 🦉 sounds pretty rocking & retro) 🎧🌍🔥
Richard Pryor made such a skit
Saw them several times back in the day I’m Cleveland
Fun group!
Man, I grew up with this stuff. I wish I knew this band. So very good.
this is awesome.. sound def rock to me..

Damn this song is great!
Hi , love you vibe , Jimi Hendrix meets iron maiden , sorry just my opinion , but I like it 6 years later ! Regards Simon
this is the song I pull out when my friends tell me Metal is for white people 😂😂😂
Play Sevendust.
The band called Death practically found punk lmao Black people created rocknroll
Suffocation has a couple black members and they’re old af.
I just show my friends Killswitch Engage. Howard Jones is the preferred vocalist for the most part anyways.
@@nag8649 If people only knew!
Literally black metal
This is classic old school metal. Awesome.
This is beautiful
This is very nice!
Very good!
And with the years, Token became a great metal bass player!!
At 3:43 it sounds like Doctor doctor by UFO.
4:21 This riff almost sounds just like the riff after the chorus in Under the Oak by Candlemass, I wonder if they ripped it off
'Vat iz dis ? I said vee vere de true black metal' - Varg

This band should've been bigger, only just heard of them!!
Cleveland rocks!!!
Fyeah!...Great band.
So good. so good.
Has a Saxon/ Kiss feel and sound to it! 🤘🤘🤘 someone needs to remaster it and bring it back to life. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
You wot mate!? I got here randomly wondering if there are metal bands of black people. Was suprised finding one from the 80s.
Saw them live at CSU back in the day. They were good
Damn, not bad at all.. I cant believe I never heard of them till today..
Looks like Sound Barrier to me.
Isn't that Katon DePena on the left?
I like it!
what about Sound Barrier , Living Colour and Death?
Pretty damn good!!
They've got a serious
AngelWitch influence with a little Motorhead and a dash of FastWay (in the guitar tone). Sounds fantastic.
Wow amazing you don't hear them like this nomore
No habían escuchado a Michael Schenker nunca!!!!
anyone know what happened to this band do any of them still jam out
Black Sabbath - Cornucopia
Thanks. I was thinking Iron Maiden.
Check out Living Color & Sound Barrier for more metal, 247 Spyz, Black Death, Pure Hell, Bad Brains, Death for punk. Enjoy.
Don't forget that was a black man who made the guitar cry "Jimmy Hendrix " 😌💪🏾🙏🏾
Definitely a UFO/Schenker vibe, with Paul Stanley on vocals.
What happened? Why didn't more blacks get into heavy metal?
Sean Steel because the music industry is RACIST especially during this time in the 80s NO ONE would touch a heavy metal band with black people in it that was until Living Color broke the barrier with their music.
