England had the NWOBHM, Sweden had the NWOSHM, the NWOSSDM, and the NWOGSDM , Florida and Buffalo NY had the Death Metal, The Bay Area and Germany had the Thrash Metal, the Sunset Strip had the Hair Metal, and Ohio had the Speed Metal. Black Death was an integral part of the NWOOHM scene. And Chicago had a huge Doom Metal scene that flourished between 1981 and 1984 that included Witchslayer, Thrust ( although not Doom Metal but Metal) , Zoetrope, War Cry , and Trouble
I saw them also in Cleveland. Some place on the East Side. It was a great show! I spoke to them at the end, and they seemed like pretty cool guys. Very confident in what they were doing.
