    When you find out he called all of his own plays for his entire career it makes his greatness that much better

      Exactly, he RAN that Steelers offense. Before Super Bowl 13, Hollywood Henderson made his infamous statement about how Bradshaw couldn’t spell CAT if you spotted him the C and the A, basically calling him a dummy. The media picked up on this and one of the themes of that game was the well spoken, sophisticated Roger Staubach vs. the simple country boy Terry Bradshaw. Staubach was a great quarterback but he did whatever Tom Landry told him to do, he didn’t call his own plays like Bradshaw did. In that game, Bradshaw was the difference maker, he outplayed Staubach, throwing 4 touchdowns and was the MVP of that game. Who’s the dummy now, Hollywood? 🤣

    Criminally underrated! He played in the toughest eras where there were no protections in place for quarterbacks and was a field general directing the offense calling his own plays. Give this man his flowers. 💐

      I agree. Even as a chief span, I now realize that this man is criminally underrated. I used to say that he didn’t really belong in the same conversation as guys like John Elway, Peyton Manning, and such. But if you think about it, he was probably the most dominant quarterback during that time, especially since he had a really well-balanced running and throwing game. 212 passing touchdowns may not be much in today’s time but back then that was probably a lot. Terry Bradshaw deserves to be in the same conversation as John Elway.

    Terry Bradshaw is from my town Shreveport, Louisiana. He was known as a tough competitor and for having one of the most powerful arms in NFL history. His physical skills and on-the-field leadership played a major role in the Steelers' dynasty throughout the 1970s

      He was a decorated Javelin Thrower. 81 yds.
      Its between Elway, Allen and Brady for 2nd best. But no one messes with Terry B imo

    Bradshaw was my idol growing up. All my buddies loved the Cowboys, and I loved the Steelers even though I grew up near Cincy. Watching film now, he was a tough competitor. Swan and Stallworth made him a legend.

      if swann and stallworth made him a legend, why didnt the make Joe Gilliam a legend as well, since they played with him as well.

      Just watch the video. He threw a lot of ball up for grab and those two always came down with them

    • @wbmstr24
      @wbmstr24 6 місяців тому

      @@davelex08 Well yes, he threw it where only his receivers could get it...any qb can do that. the point is, he threw it accurately to where only his receivers could get it. he wasnt just tossing the ball up in a hail mary every pass.....they practiced these routes every week for every game...he also threw many passes if you check vids, that were down low again, so that only swann or stallworth could get to them.....that's how you have a winning passing game.

    • @wbmstr24
      @wbmstr24 6 місяців тому

      @@davelex08 just look at the examples in the superbowls, all the td passes were perfect, all the acrobat catches were perfectly thrown to where his receiver had the only chance....that is by design, knowing your receivers ability and your own as well.

    • @romanfields7900

    Indeed Bradshaw had a cannon of a arm and one of the best athletes to play the position,and that is why Coach Noll and The Steelers stuck with Mr.Bradshaw. One of the best Terry Bradshaw highlights on UA-cam.

    Notice no aiding gloves on the receivers.
    Bradshaw had a strong arm, tight spiral and good footwork.

  • @Yeomannn

    "Bradshaw is overrated because his numbers are bad."
    His numbers look "bad" because of his first 5 seasons, where he was still learning the pro game and how to deal with a coach that didn't like him. Bradshaw's prime was 1975-1982, where he threw 162 TDs to 129 INTs for a 78.8 passer rating. For reference, John Elway began his career after Bradshaw's last year as a starter and has a 79.9 passer rating. Think about that for a moment.

      Four Super Bowls in six years as with Brad Shaw won. What did Elway win to at the end of Courier and they were given to him think about that

      tammy lost three, once to a backup qb, in the sb.....imagine tammy playing in the era that TB did, tammy coldnt call his own plays, had a microphone in his helmet, which helped in the cheating era, and that stupid wristband cause he couldnt remember the same five yard dink n dunk offense that the rules were changed to, to allow average qbs and diva receivers, to excell.

    You'd think there are only so many ways to throw a football 50 or 60 yards. But watching on TV, you'd see this beautiful, almost unique trajectory on Bradshaw's deep ball -- not high like a punt that would sail out of the frame, but a tight arching spiral that you could see all the way down the field. Not a bomb. A guided missile.

    • @dukewilson14
      @dukewilson14  6 місяців тому

      He also had a unique way of throwing the football with his pointer finger on the back tip of the football. Bradshaw said he thought of it like a slingshot.
