@@PerthWAtch 100% ivan its just the import duty that kills a lot of their range for me. On the early black Friday deals they've got some beauty's for around $80 but with the extra $40 odd duty fee it's a deal breaker for me
50% duties and taxes on top!? Wow, I thought we get taxed to death here in Australia but that's ridiculous...

Most welcome - yeah I think everyone would rather the NH35A than the 8215...
Great review as always. It would be interesting to see how much these microbrands save when using an 8215 when compared to a NH35. I can't imagine the cost different enough that it's worth the saving. Non-hacking movements can be an instant turn off for many people.

That’s actually a very solid movement.
No disagreement about that... just that the NH35A is widely considered to be better and many of their watches do use that, hence this is a step back.
At that price I wouldn’t be happy with no hack handwind
This piece isn't bad, kinda like it in fact. Only issue is that it is so tiny! 40 mm was too small

Thanks for the comment Scott. Ironically one of the most common "complaints" about Spinnaker is that they always go too large. Good news is that there are plenty larger than 40mm, and for a similar aesthetic in 42mm, take a look at the Fleuss: ua-cam.com/video/-CAYYJukTxI/v-deo.html
Great vid! I'm considering buying this watch, but I'm curious about the indices and bezel markings. The color varies between vids and shots; from looking white to light green.
You mentioned that it has a patina effect, and I realize that this is probably because of the lume, but I would like to know what the exact color is in person. What is it, like an off white type of patina? Thanks!
Off white I would say, but I’m one of the worst people to ask as I have colour vision deficiency!

So, right now I'm deciding between the Cahill, the Orient Kamasu, and the Seiko 5kx. Which do you prefer? Also, please tell me why this Seiko 5kx is considered "limited"?

Don’t know why they went with this movment. I have heard that Miyota upgraded some of their movements to hack. At this point and based on what else is aviable there is no reason why they should not have hacking at this price.
The bracelet is nice. The crown looks odd on the case, a mismatch in my opinion. No reason to have “Spinaker” on the left side of the case. They also should of used a different hour hand. Much nicer watches available at this price point.
Two words most likely - cost cut.
The Miyota 8000 series movements don't hack (and official sources continue to state as such), while the 9000 series ones do, although those are more expensive for good reason. I think they could've stuck to the good old NH35A.
And yeah, I do wish they used a different hour hand rather than the oh so common Mercedes...

I use calipers to measure my dimensions - I wouldn’t trust the website measurements...
New Terminology , the Spinnaker spin instead of the Seiko Shuffle.....might catch on. Funny how everyone hates Invicta's branding on the side of the Case but I've never heard that mentioned about Spinnaker. Like the Dial. Is it possible to remove the Divers extension if need be to utilize all 3 micro ?
Oh yeah man, I've been spinning these boxes especially on my unboxing videos for over a year now :)
Quite a few of my viewers have commented on the lamentable emblazoning of the "Spinnaker" on many of this brand's cases.
Regarding the diver extension - I'm afraid removing it would involve mutilating the attachment somewhat, and what's left over wouldn't fit properly into the clasp housing... although it might passably function. Basically, not really good to do.

@@PerthWAtch spinnaker seems most active sending watches too UA-cam influencers imo. I see 7 videos for Spinnaker in my inbox over the past couple days.
Yeah, apologies if it seems like spam. Spinnaker are one of the most prolific users of "influencer marketing" among watch brands. Some of their pieces are pretty good, and if nothing else they help keep some of us smaller channels running :)

Meh... the hands are Mercedes style more so than the Timex, not to mention that one's got printed indices only...
Bezel insert made of glass. Do not drop on a hard floor it will break. Impossible to find a replacement anywhere. I don't recommand that watch at all.

I have yet to see a watch that looks good with writing on the side of the case, IMO it just looks a bit tacky. The bracelet looks nice and I like the textured dial, but for 300-350 USD there's a plethora of better looking and better spec'd watches out there, especially with micro brands like Helm, Benarus, Zelos and Deep Blue for example. Also the countless tales of poor QC by Spinnaker doesn't do them any favours either.
What about that Ulysse Nardin I reviewed which had engraved details on the case side?
Re: price point, oh yes absolutely, you can find ceramic insert and higher spec movements for sure.
What are some diver's that offer more for this price point? Looking at spending < 500$ AUD. Sorry to hop on this point, I've just been out of the watch game for a little bit hah!
