bro ever since i started watching your videos (almost 2 years ) i bankrupted myself buying tools parts watches etc .. and learned a lot about watchmaking , made A bunch of watches fixed a lot of watches now i am a watch collector and you are my master teacher . thanks brother .
Not watched one of these in ages. My dad has an old Omega Chrono, the same one that they wore on the moon apparently. It's an absolute beauty but he has been unable to get a battery for it. Anyone got any thoughts on this? I would love to get to get it sorted for him. Thanks for the great video bud.
Very nice job. It looks great. I've collected mostly vintage Rolex over the years and that Omega band looks like it was made JB Champion as with many USA marked Rolex bands were. They of course had Rolex markings. This was a time when many Swiss watch companies were shipping the heads minus the band to high tarrif countries and then the dealer would fit these JB made bands. I also need to get that small metal vise you used in towards the end as I want to start rebuilding my stretching bands with new pins. That would be a nice video for you to do.
a watch that age deserves to retain some of the character it's developed over the years, so that gentle approach to the polishing seems very appropriate to my mind
I respect your extraordinary skills and admire your work ethic. Like it or not, in this place and time you stand out as an extraordinary character. Please keep at it for a long time.
Always love your videos and your work is an inspiration. Quick question: when you re-plated the bracket did you have to remove the old gold plating first?
Wonderful work and am looking forward to the big reveal , I can never understand how people get these valuable pieces in such a terrible state. I never used a decent watch for work , just a plastic case cheap o . The thought of having a future classic being bashed to bits at work is to me totally bonkers 😂 But it takes all sorts as they say Best wishes and kind regards as always 👍👍👍
You should see the state of my dad's spare gold plated case/bracelet for his square omega constellation. Looks like he sweated acid. The stainless steel one it's currently on is just 'worn' but since he cracked the acrylic crystal and stupidly carried on using it, the silver dial is green and the mechanism no longer works. Judging by the fact that the case back screws are rust, I think the mechanism is one block of rust. He was such an oaf with everything from watches to cars.
Another fantastic video. Thanks you very much for taking the time to do these. I would love a video about how you became a watchmaker. What training you went through. Did you have to serve an apprenticeship? how long have you been doing it? how many makes have you worked on? thanks
Hilarious as far as I reckon. I dreamt last night I was getting watches on my arm valued . Both arms had 3 watches. The price slowly went up on each watch I showed. The last one was an Omega and the invisible Valuer( dream didnt make any sense) quoted $6000. Then to see this video was ready in subs -HAH !
Definitely appreciate the middle ground choice of the level of restoration. A piece of that age should have some sign of its years, not look pristine and unworn!
For a watch that's ever going to be worn, it doesn't make a lot of sense to restore it to new condition. The bracelet looks great and I think that's generally the result to go for.
I love watching your channel. You are AWESOME my friend. It’s so great that the kiddo is rummaging around the shop while you’re working! You keep fixing and I’ll keep watching! Cheers from sunny S.C.
What I really love besides watching you and your amazing skills and outlook on life, is that you let Mr. Trouble HELP YOU OUT! That is SO important for a child's self confidence and sense of worth. My children are all grown up. I wish I'd done more of that with mine. You are a superb human being.
Thanks for posting this. I have been wanting to get a pie pan constellation with a bead on rice bracelet. But, the bracelets are often quite worn. I was wondering if they could be refurbished and who does that service.
Please download final video asap. This is a very good video and you are leaving us hanging in the air with this one. Much admire your wonderful work. Cheers.
Scrubs up nice, but as you say the top up of gold really helped. I dont mind the "short" videos. bit more information to go along with the main video. 2x👍
Its good practice to label containers with their contents in case there is an accident, you may know what's in the container but you may not be there. When there has been an accident the medical staff need to know what a chemical is so that they do not make things worse and to know the best treatment to give. Having the right data sheet for the product to hand is just what medical persons would like given to them. May as well read the data sheet when you print the copy.🙏
Makes me want to send my 1861 Speedmaster to you (I won't, but still ....). You do excellent work, sir. As well as a master technician, you are an artist. Kudos and atta-boys to you!
Another fantastic restoration, I knew yay would go the hole way because you don’t do half a job 😊cant wait to see the watch competed and in the lovely box. P.S. do you sell your restorations or are they for a collection?
Great job, I like to watch you restore watch cases. But I must admit that I prefer how you repair cheaper equipment. Not Rolex, only those that cost a maximum of $ 1000 new. Although I know that from an economic point of view, it probably doesn't make sense to save $500 watches as new
Sitting here finishing off my first shark mesh bracelet install, a 24mm beastie onto a CCCP Time Golden Soviet Submarine... then this vid pops up so I am just polishing out some dremel witness marks off the links whilst I watch this lovely bracelet get the goods :)
I never wanted a gold watch because I have seen too many worn gold watch bands on ebay which look cheesy and cueap! Caswell plating in the usa sells a brush plating kit for gold for $85 which can be used to tank plate very small items like this ...😮
youre the first watch repair/restore video person ive seen just wearing a pair of nitrile gloves instead of the finger cots. I cant see a benefit to finger cots vs gloves, unless a person just likes a bit more tedious nonsense along the way. can anyone explain this to me?
How difficult is it to replate a 10kt gold vintage watch ? I bought one to restore but a lot of jewelers are saying that the watch band needs to be either replaced or left alone because it isn’t possible
bro ever since i started watching your videos (almost 2 years ) i bankrupted myself buying tools parts watches etc .. and learned a lot about watchmaking , made A bunch of watches fixed a lot of watches now i am a watch collector and you are my master teacher . thanks brother .
There are many of us addicted to watches after watching the master at work :)
5:49 I see you were multitasking by polishing your fingernails at the same time...
That looks absolutely magnificent. Great job.
Can’t wait to see the big long full episode.
Fantastic quality of work. Thank you so very much for sharing your experiences. Your videos are awesome

Always a good day when the Nekkid watchmaker uploads!!
Great job 👍🏼👍🏼 Those finger cots tho 😂😂
I’m always amazed at how meticulous you are, tho that’s your job….👍🏻 GO birds 🦅, It’s a Philly thing🤷🏼!
I respect your extraordinary skills and admire your work ethic. Like it or not, in this place and time you stand out as an extraordinary character. Please keep at it for a long time.
Thanks mate
Inspires me to follow my heart and do work that makes me happy.
Playing it back at .75 speed. Voice still sounds good AND I get a couple extra minutes!!
Looks amazing. Thank you for your inspiring video's.
very satisfying!
i loved your opening example connecting it to buses... well done
Shows you how good 20 micron plating is. We used to say 1 micron wear per year. So that’s lasted really well
Always love your videos and your work is an inspiration. Quick question: when you re-plated the bracket did you have to remove the old gold plating first?
I enjoy your videos. Long format videos are great so don’t cut too much out…

I like the longer videos. Amazing job. Thanks for sharing 👍.
That looks wonderful !
As everyone is saying, FANTASTIC JOB on all pieces! I just can’t wait for the movement video. 👍👍
A longer video you say? Let me get all my bench work ready. Don't cut anything out, I have hours to watch. Beautiful work as always.

Good workmanship. I tend to not like the gold plating but I sure do love the vintage watches

Another great restoration Joe. At least one such video a month would be great but also understand it’s time consuming. Anyway alway lovely to watch.
I love watching your channel. You are AWESOME my friend. It’s so great that the kiddo is rummaging around the shop while you’re working! You keep fixing and I’ll keep watching! Cheers from sunny S.C.
Thanks robert
You’re a miracle worker! I loved hearing the little voices of your children🤗❤️🐝

Excited to see the final product ! Beautiful work

Great video as always your attention to detail is always a pleasure to watch 😊
Amazing job, as usual. I would love to have my old TAG Heuer serviced and restored by your hands.
Scrubs up nice, but as you say the top up of gold really helped. I dont mind the "short" videos. bit more information to go along with the main video.
2x👍
Nice, glad you decided to re-plate as I could barely tell it was gold plated before. Now I want to see it all finished in that beautiful red box!
Great job! Can't wait to see what you did with the watch and see it all back together.
Manliest excuse to have the worlds most polished fingernails 05:55
I love the endings with your brother's music :) Can you please bring that back?
Very nice! The bracelet looks beautiful.

Superb craftsmanship! Joe, you are a legend!
Loving your thumless finger tip less gloves provide excellent nail polishing openings :) , look forward to the watch head video :)
Increible , quedo como nuevo.
Felicidades 👏 👏
Wow I have a similar watch, no watch maker I have spoken to will replate mine 😢
GREAT JOB, HOPE TROUBLE IS DOING GREAT, GREAT VIDEO, SEE YOU WHEN...GOD BLESS ALL...
You sure make something worth wearing with pride again. Lovely work you do. 🇺🇸👍🏼
Fantastic work on the bracelet , looks beautiful now !!!!!!!
Great job..peace love and blessings to the watch fraternity..🙏
Thanks mate, same to you
Oh my goodness, two videos in such a short amount of time. You're a tease, but I love it. Take care brother.
Beautiful restoration
Nice job Joe well done
A wonderful transformation from tired 😫 to fantastic.
Thanks for the half.... :D
Wow , what a difference! 👍
Very fine work. The Master brought an old used watch back to life again. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊
Makes me want to send my 1861 Speedmaster to you (I won't, but still ....).
You do excellent work, sir. As well as a master technician, you are an artist. Kudos and atta-boys to you!
Wow! That cleaned up so well! Nice work.
I enjoy the multi episode approach.
I'd love to know how many hours you put into this watch
Another fantastic restoration, I knew yay would go the hole way because you don’t do half a job 😊cant wait to see the watch competed and in the lovely box. P.S. do you sell your restorations or are they for a collection?
Thanks roger. Most belong to clients, some get sold and others I collect

Fabulous work. Keep well in the Nekkid household

These carbon atoms say 👍
You have made Monday a bit brighter.
Brill job, I’ll have to learn how to do the gold plating one day
Looks absolutely magnificent!! Great job and skills! 👏 May I ask, what kind of polish and cleaner do you use?
Thank you for sharing your expertise.
I never wanted a gold watch because I have seen too many worn gold watch bands on ebay which look cheesy and cueap! Caswell plating in the usa sells a brush plating kit for gold for $85 which can be used to tank plate very small items like this ...😮
It looks great now. See you for the next episode. Love from Paris and tara a bit.
Great job! The item looks so much better after plating.
Great job as always 😁 I look forward to seeing your next video. is omega the watch brand used in the 007 movies?
Yessir
Love watching a master at work!
What a brilliant end result 💯
Nekkid watchmaker videos. Some say they are like watching paint dry……………….hang on a minute😂
*Wow great job done...*
Haven't watched it, yet, but pleeeeaasseee tell me you found an awesome application for your laser thingy!
Loving the episodes on this Omega!
youre the first watch repair/restore video person ive seen just wearing a pair of nitrile gloves instead of the finger cots. I cant see a benefit to finger cots vs gloves, unless a person just likes a bit more tedious nonsense along the way. can anyone explain this to me?
Hi hope you are fine and good..
I want to restore my dad watches. Kindly tell me about how I will send you these watches to you for new life...
How difficult is it to replate a 10kt gold vintage watch ? I bought one to restore but a lot of jewelers are saying that the watch band needs to be either replaced or left alone because it isn’t possible
It is mind-blowing to view a master conservator at work.
Truly a master, and so easy to watch/listen to. Could watch these videos daily. 👏
what is that soft polishing brush on the bench grinder you are using? cant find a similar product online
I like the way you end off with a greeting, have a great week and thanks for the upload
Been following this channel for a while.. Still can't figure out what accent am I hearing..
using those finger gloves for the polishing looked unpractical, hope your fingers are ok.
Do you have a physical store? I have a watch that needs replacing as well
Looking good! Can't wait for the full video.
bracelet looks factory fresh.
2 videos in short succession, you are spoiling us
I have a Omega Seamaster Cosmic that needs a repair/service do you take on viewers work?
