Oh man I've been wanting one of these so bad ever since they came out and now that EXO has one he's going to make me want one even more once he starts putting on those vitavon parts!!!!
That was a long wait! I've had mine since last year😎, here are some things I have noticed: 1. The esc mounting tabs crack off easy so might wanna glue it down 2. Front upper arms cracked but didn't fully break...vitavon sorted that 3. No receiver box! I threw in a receiver box off a slash. 4. Front rubber flap keeps pulling out... I gave up putting it back in. It would be interesting to see if one of the big 1/5 scale motors fitted if you looked at moving the servo around. Enjoy it dude!
Thanks this is the info I'm after!! I have a few receiver boxes laying around and it'll get a Flysky GT5 radio soon, plus I've got a bunch of vitavon for it already, not the whole package yet,but most of the big stuff.
The front shocks, as far as I can tell have longer shafts relative to the body, and they use pretty big bump stops. One other thing to look for is, while the long droop up front looks good it seems to travel slightly too far, because I noticed those front drive shafts rub the knuckles when they extend past a certain point as well as causing a little binding in the steering. You might also want to look into covering up the receiver (it fills up with crud pretty easily). I haven't tried myself yet, but I'm wondering if the Super Rock Rey tower would fit (there seems to be enough room under the body and cage), but you really just need a way to run taller shock bodies up front, to get that movement range to slap the chassis.
The rear cage flex's badly but do not worry go on e-bay and there are probably half a dozen ways to sort it from 3D printed to carbo fibre to alloy and stainless steel, I recommend you address that before hammering it too much. I used the Vitavon alloy axle and zero degree castor/camber inserts. Yes the wrap is not good but if you go round with the heat gun and work it in it stays on better, just have to accept the tear's that appear. I got the clone by King Motor/30degtees North joint effort, which was 100 times better than the first SBR but when the V2 came out it was lacking a lot of detail but is still magic and I have beat on it badly it keeps coming back for more and no breakages lol, my UDR is almost retired now too fragile compared to the SDT.

I just got one yesterday regardless of the decals, I love it I had it out 3 times in a row, I have 2 5000 smart batteries they last about 20-30 min each charge I will get the 7000/s soon.
Your totally right man if your rigs chassis can't touch the ground it's going to break shock rod ends shock towers shock shafts ect. I always wanted to put monster truck tires on this Baja rey. Also you can fit a leopard 5882 motor in it!
@@ExocagedRC well if you go with leopard hobby the big 5882 is in 1360kv which would be just about perfect you could compensate speed with pinion size. I was suggesting because of how little room you have the leopard is bigger than the hobby wing in width which might get you a little bit on the top end. And should run a little cooler. Very nice rig my friend.... as for the tires hitting the inside of the fender Wells..... I would line the wells with 3M aluminum foil tape .... it’s used to repair duct work of heating and air conditioning systems...... I used it on my Felony wheel wells to prevent the tires from rubbing the paint off ..... it seems to have worked for me.....
I used it on my udr. It doesn't hold up to water and dirt. The tires will rub on the tape and dirt and water will make it less sticky. Eventually the tape falls off. Duct tape would work better.

Seems like just about every youtuber has had decal issues so it isn't a one off thing. Horizon's quality control is shitty. This issue has been happening for months and they haven't fixed it.

Back orders are such a pain. I've ordered Axle housings for my Gen7 sport back in February. So we are just gonna cancel it and get some Aluminum ones on Amazon. They are expensive but I'm not interested in waiting another 4 months lol. Awesome you got one of these.

I just got mine and have absolutely beat the crap out of my Brenthel and it has yet to break anything,it's a beast. My stickers were the exact same way. Whoever they have putting them things on should be fired. We're paying 1k for this truck,come on Losi.

Yeah I wouldn't buy a $900 truck that has stickers falling off out of the box and plastic driveshafts. People complained about the $500 maxx having plastic driveshafts.
That only happens to aluminum chassis vehicles like the arrma kraton. It doesn't happen to vehicles with a plastic chassis. The way this truck is designed it most likely will not hurt the electronics. I've never damaged any electronics in my udr from chassis slapping. Bottoming out your shocks can increase the risk of chassis damage, aka bending (aluminum), snapping (plastic). It also increases the risk of breaking suspension components like shock towers, arms, and shocks.
I do like the SBR 2.0 but buying one isn't a priority. I'm got my eyes on the Losi DBXL gas and another boat first. Me and my brother both got V1's, but I've never used mine yet. I've also got a Losi Super Rock Rey. I like how people point out the plastic driveshafts and don't seem to realize the joints are still metal. I've had my SRR for something like two years and never broke an axle. I have broke the shock tower, twice. I'm pretty sure they weren't from hard landings, the one I know for sure was broken when I clobbered a huge rock at full speed. Broke the arm and tower. I thought it was gonna be way worse. I like the old Dynamite system more than the smart systems. I've not had the greatest luck with any Smart systems. I'd probably change out the Smart system in the SBR 2.0 for the Mamba Monster X ESC and just run it sensorless. I don't know how much you ran the V1 SBR but you'll want to change out the front diff case to aluminum asap as it will strip your gears from the flex. Another is aluminum bell crank. Hot Racing bell crank carriers as they use bigger bearings. If you install the Losi aluminum servo mount, you can run true 1/5 scale servos in access of 1000 ounce inches, otherwise you will have to stick to 1/6 scale servos. I run a 70kg servo in mine, Hobby star. It's been reliable and has 900+ ounce inches (can't remember the exact specs). Other than those few things, you won't have to worry about much. I do agree that the 17 mm hex is too small with that power output. That being said, Top Tuning has 24 mm hex conversions. If you go that route, DDM (Dave's Discount Motors) has tires that would go will with the SBR 2.0
This truck was designed like a 1/10. Plastic driveshafts. 17mm hexes. 4 shocks (UDR is smaller yet has 8 shocks). Lots of plastic which is uncommon for large losi trucks. This truck is most similar to the mojave and UDR. Out of the 3, I'd say this is the worst looking. The UDR is for scale performance. The mojave is for durability. This truck serves no purpose because the UDR is more scale than this and the mojave is more durable. Overall a letdown of a truck. That's not even including the quality issues with the decals that they still have not addressed since release.
@@gasolinediesel972 Like I said, I never broke an axle on an 8s powered Super Rock Rey or a 1200 kv powered SBR. The shafts are the only part that's plastic and the outers are still metal, the CVS, the stub, the out drive end, all metal. As far as the shocks go, the springs are far more than capable of handling the truck with one. As far as looks, this one looks identical to it's full size variant

My point with the shocks is that it looks really odd and it should have 8. I'm not saying that the shocks can't handle the truck. I know that it looks identical, but it also looks ugly. The real version is very ugly.
@@gasolinediesel972 Anything will break due to use and/or neglect. I've broken aftermarket parts on my UDR and recently on my Summit. Aftermarket servo in my TRX4 is starting to take a dump. The only RCs I own that I haven't yet broken is a F-18 Hornet, Losi 5ive T, and my SBR V1 that is going to be a build project. I'm surprised you know someone who broke an axle as between 3 Losi 1/6 scale RCs, not one has broken yet. I've got as I said the Losi SRR and the never used SBR, brother has a V1 SBR, and a buddy has the SRR.
@@SebastianLong They aren't horrible driveshafts but if you take a bad landing with the power on, snap goes the driveshaft. They can, and do break. I've never seen a plastic driveshaft, or even a metal driveshaft that doesn't break. Driveline breakages will always be an issue for all rc cars. This truck is no exception.
The King-version sucks...the Brenthel is so much nicer.....when the stickers would'nt suck so much....and the rims are ugly. Love the entire rest though.
Plastic is better than metal on chassis and suspension components. Metal will bend like a banana on a hard landing. Plastic will flex and not break (if it is a decent grade of plastic that is). Although plastic in your drivetrain is never good and that is one of my issues with this truck. The 6s udr has steel dogbones and an aluminum rear center driveshaft. The 8s sbr 2.0 has plastic driveshafts all around.
That is a pretty cool looking truck. I agree that for 900 dollars I would think the decals would be better.

Make sure to watch those drive pins on the axles. They like to loosen up. And tighten the servo saver. Only issues I've had . Awesome truck

Yeah I ordered a center diff for my slash 4x4 about 3 weeks ago from amain and it still isn't in stock.

Chassis slaps do serious damage to motors, ESCs, and servos. Kinda hard to say chassis slaps are better than bottoming out the shocks.

I like the scale aspect of it, the massive suspension movement and the size. But with that said, it’s not an Xmaxx at all
