    This is so worthy of filming! Too many people are unaware of just how much money can be saved for other things if you buy used and revamp it! A pattern can be made by removing the fabric and cutting to size allowing for shrinkage ( cut a little bigger) or do as you did here and do each piece separately, excellent! I just found you again and subbed! Thanks! Got to view the other parts now to see end result! Smart, intelligent and beautiful too! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

    Well Done!! I watched before but I was in a rush so I came back to rewatch (and comment)! I know it was tedious and a labour of love, you saved so much money doing this yourself and you are such a role model for your children. You are indeed an asset to your family! You have to be so proud of yourself! I know your husband must think you are crazy for taking on such projects but he has got to be so proud of you when you are done! Thanks for sharing! One thing is to do the project but to share the process with us by filming and editing WOW! thanks!

    Hey guys, I buy my fabric in rolls (the entire roll) some of them only had half or 1/4 of the fabric left on them. Use a tape measure to measure your couch by yard and add 2-4 extra yards. I do not know what kind of couch /chair you have so please use your own judgment when measuring! For my regular sized arm chair I used 6-7 yards of fabric give or take a little.

      My parents did that! The bought two wing back chairs on like a chair for a woman and a larger for a man. They had an upholstered come to the house he brought his fabric samples and they choose the fabric and he did a beautiful job. He also took two beautifully handcrafted low tables that were specifically built for my dad; they were intended to hold speakers for his stereo. The tables were much larger that needed for his extra large speakers.
      The tables were turned into two beautifully upholstered foot stools to compliment the chairs.

    • @KaRiNa-pj9sb
      @KaRiNa-pj9sb 4 роки тому

      @@cherifew3485 oh wow, your dad did all of that? Did he do it himself or did your mom help him?

    • @cherifew3485
      @cherifew3485 4 роки тому

      My parents bought used furniture, they had them reupholestered they paid someone to do it for them.
      The same with the tables. The fabric they chose was a cream colored base with royal blue & deep sky blue flowers with lime green and spring green leaves. The. Fabric was beautiful. A few years later, mom & I took a swatch of the material and we went shopping for a wingbacked couch we found one a perfect match in the lime green color. Their set was complete!
      I was able to make an afghan for my parents in the same color!

I was upset cause I was like this is a great couch lol. I know its not the same couch though cause I'm in the south and she didn't have it as a set. I just thought that was weird cause it was the exact print lol they came out very nice.

    You have made Reupholstering look easy I'm a little envy that I did not try it sooner. The way the fabric was folded to hide the seam of the staples I was like OMG! why couldn't I figure that out. I think I'm losing some of my knowledge in sewing. I also like to say I appreciate your thoughtfulness and not adding music to your video. You are right!, it can be annoying watching a video and can't concentrate because of how annoying it can get with loud music and your trying to follow instruction it gives me a headache. So, THANK YOU for that. And again amazing job!!

    You made it look so easy… thank you for your great instructions.👍👍
    The challenge for me will be to locate the durable, yet comfortable to the touch sofa fabric.
    The elderly neighbour’s ‘floral sofa’ is Over 30 years old, great bones, sold wood frame, not worm at all. Cheers

    I love that you’re a mom of 3. My fear is not having time to actually finish my diy stuff because I’m a mom of 3 boys, 7,8,12 years old, and I barely have time to use the bathroom. This let me know it’s okay to go slow and not being done in a single day

    This was an amazing tutorial! I'm recovering our couch from a brittle and worn through vinyl to a leather that matches our other chair. This gives me hope.

    Omg your my hero girl!!! I bought a couch a 5 years ago and it’s that bonded leather and starting to look awful! But it’s still really comfortable! And it’s a huge sectional! I’m going to try and do this! Wish me luck! But with all your helpful instructions I’m sure I got this!!
