@Angry Hippo I would LOVE to do a slipcover...I tried for about a week, but I was defeated and realized my reupholstering skills were much better. I'm taking a slipcover class and that way I can have my chair with or without a slipcover (provided the lady I'm paying can even teach me...ugh!).

WOW! For people who have old houses in their extended families, with old faded, torn or stained furniture heirlooms -- this is very enlightening. Most people don't want to spend the money to redo their old chairs and are too intimidated by the DIY approach, but this is very inspiring. You have an incredible skill set. Can't wait to see the scaled down chair also. Awesome video!

Thanks so much for this excellent tutorial. I have a chair almost exactly like this one that I paid $50 for 15 or 20 years ago. The only difference is the arm fronts are rolled back vertically. The legs are identical. I finally am finding the courage to reupholstering it. this tutorial gave me exactly the information I needed and no lengthy, dragged out explanations. I'm working on the cushion now and will get to the rest next. Perfect pacing and instructions! Great job!!

watch other videos. many of these steps aren't totally correct and/or the way a beginner should do it. There is very very little room for error in the way she is attaching things. Getting a good fit and fabric drape will be nearly impossible if your cuts are not absolutely perfect to start the way she is doing this.
