@@LP-770 Ok so let me explain to you, GT,PC,AC/ACC Etc. These games are playable on circuit, and in real life racing the rain cant be so strong, thats why you cant see much going on in these games, about Drive Club, this is clearly not realistic man
not even close to realistic, the outside camera looks like a camera from an f1 car during rain, the driver camera doesnt even show the poor visibility and the speed effect is only a huge amount of blur effect rain is static, when you drive at 120km/h during the start of the rain it looks like its raining, during a normal rain there is poor visibility and especially behind a car around the same speed is nearly 0 similar to the outside camera
Idk why, but Midnight Club 3's heavy rain looks really like it's heavy and I like it. And there was an option to add storm, snow, or fog in Tokyo Xteme Racer 3, which make the rain looks better
Whitelight's video. All the time wasted on the "club" part, and the game's penalty system is a game of russian roulette. Also, performance issue, visual effects caused it to go only 30fps and the difficulty sorting is a disaster. It wouldn't be a problem if the game did continue to sell, or funded for future improvements, but then sony's many other products also failed to make money, and after all, "maybe we don't need another gran turismo".
NFS Heat's rain was also really good for me, especially when you saw how it was affected by the light in the air (Most noticeable at night), and how it created a good sense of speed as you ripped through the atmosphere of weather.
And its very funny bcause it could be surpassed by any game developer nowdays... If they care a 5% about their games development, but they dong give AF
Back in 2014 DC, at the release day, they launched a title without title screen. I remember that day like was yesterday. After a few upgrades they made fucking perfection. the pinnacle of racing games.
Thats the thing, no VANILLA game can beat DriveClub, a mod that need a very Strong Graphic card to work well and the correct settings its needed. Meanwhile DriveClub Running on ps4 slim constant 1920x1080p 30FPS HDR, without overheating (Something that GTA V OR GT7 can not presume of)
Closest thing we ever got to driveclubs weather effects and lighting is forza horizon 2. Also pgr 4 looks insanely clean for a 2007 game on a xbox 360.( Way ahead of its time)
Being fair with Codemasters, the Ego engine aged really well in the Dirt and Grid series, probably not the most realistic but good looking in both car and scenario effects
After all these years, driveclub still has amazing graphics, best rain effects, nice handling and the best feel of speed of all racing games, dont know if its sad or what
I love GT7, but the rain effects are super underwhelming. If you are moving in third person, you don't see a drop of rain falling. It should at least hit the camera to add a little something.
Put yourself in cockpit view and you’ll see plenty of rain effect lol, I get what you’re saying but some games like Drive Club have abused these effects .
this shows how hard is to emulate low visibility during rain especially when you are behind a car gran turismo 7 manage to emulate speed effect the faster you get the more rain you get, though it doesnt emulate low visibility, when i used to drive when it rains at 120 km/h under the rain a small rain looked like a huge rain storm and a normal one must have low visibility, behind a car around the same speed with some water it was hard to see due to the spray, with a huge one is almost impossible to drive above 70km/h due to aquaplanning PC2 emulated the physics almost the exact same way.
Assetto Corsa with the Pure mod somewhat comes close to Driveclub. The later still has better looking raindrops on screen and wet road but AC has better raindrop effects on the windshield.
Ngl, people talks only about Driveclub but nfs hot pursuit has very good graphics and ambiance, it was an amazing game (to me) I kinda prefer it to driveclub (still decent too)
with the youtube update, i can see the Driveclub section is the most view portion of the video, it really is the best raining effect i have ever experience is the racing game genre
Driveclub is a game from 2014 that has the best graphics and the best rain effect in history of racing games. The rainy scenery looks better than real life and the rain droplets has physics.
9:12 Me not understanding how he manages to have clear numbers on a digital dashboard in TC2, all the cars that have digital speedo or dashboard in my game are blurry or morphing from precedent numbers to current but not fast enough

@@expertgg12 Probably never even driven a car with rain before lol

PGR4 got good cockpit rain effects. I’m suprised
5:35 Forza Horizon 2 never disappoints
the sense of speed is just amazing
I'll never understand why Driveclub failed to sell. It was phenomenal and a great "gap filler" for Gran Turismo.

Waiting for the release of the modern tdu, it would be this year I think.
В Driveclub ещё красивее удары молнии и шум грома, во много раз! ⛈️
Driveclub's dynamic rain still umbeatable
For the graphics? Or overall mechanics of the rain? Because it only does one thing good, and barely for the second one.
NFS Heat's rain was also really good for me, especially when you saw how it was affected by the light in the air (Most noticeable at night), and how it created a good sense of speed as you ripped through the atmosphere of weather.
High speed night race in the rain is cinematic as hell
